It's seventh year at Hogwarts: Ginny gets a new boyfriend even though she still loves Harry, Malfoy reaches out to Hermione when he finds out she takes private lessons, and McGonagall asks Hermione to share her room with Harry and Ron. And then things get weird.
The story started out as fluff but was morphed into a full-blown attempt at a novel-style HP7 (with the works: quidditch, a horcrux hunt, a war, one or two deaths, and a whole lot of dramione). *Ignores end of HBP & all of DH*
Everybody's devastated after Dumbledore's death, but Hermione seems to be affected the most. She's worried about Harry, the school, the Order, her friends - but most importantly, she's worried about her parents, as the Daily Prophet brings news of Voldemort's renewed appetite for killing muggles. Harry and Ron, for the first time, are completely incapable of comforting her.
The Golden Trio is broken up as Harry decides to fly solo to save his friends from danger. But can he save them from the sorrow that ensues? Ron and Hermione's grief and misery at letting Harry go alone is eating away at their conscience... and at their friendship. Will Harry ever come back? Will they survive the guilt? And when Hermione and Ron take their frustration out on each other one time too many, who's left to turn to for comfort?
My version of the trio's seventh year at Hogwarts; these events follow book 6 so the story contains HBP spoilers.
Harry and Ron are on the hunt for the horcruxes, but they are hindered by their worry for Hermione, who has disappeared from Hogwarts. They don't have a clue where to start looking for her - and the horcrux hunt MUST go on.
