Little White Lies
Our friendship should have been strong enough to survive the days of the Dark Lord and the inherent mistrust he spread. We should have known each other well enough to know that our fears could not be true, but we did not. And so I must regretfully admit that the fault lies with me, for it has no other home. It is the fault of each of them, all those little white lies. They are the reason I am standing here now face to face with the friend who does not trust me, who does not believe me.
