Sad story!!! Lonely, miserable, guilty. That's how Lupin's life always was; and how it will always be. Now three years after he's seen Harry for the first time, Remus is back at Hogwarts. Maybe the hardest of it all is to have to teach and face Harry as though his parent's death, the incident in the Department of Mysteries, and none of it had ever happened.
First lesson with Harry in his sixth year...
Remus stops a fight between Malfoy and Harry; but that doesn't make things better at all. Then he talks to Snape, and finally, reads the Daily Prophet...
The Gryffindor Common Room
Lupin must find Ron and Ginny...
Words are tough to say
Now Lupin must tell Ron and Ginny about their father...
To Dumbledore's office and back
Remus goes to the staff meeting ordered by Dumbledore, then speaks to the Headmaster alone.
Lupin just wants to finish his lesson and get back to Dumbledore for some news on Voldemort's actions... Harry and Hermione want to know where Ron is, because they have no idea his father's dead... And things get complicated when Harry can't control himself in front of Lupin; Lupin, the man who lost all his friends because of Voldemort. The man who hates himself for what he is. The man whose life is one, sad, miserable fight against himself. And the one man who killed his godfather.
You're tearing my heart
Dumbledore will make an announcment at dinner... And knowing what he will say doesn't make Lupin feel better. Not when it's news of death, not when it means Harry will keep accusing him of everything that went wrong in the world.
Dumbledore pairs up teachers and prefects for patrols. And when Snape ends up with Harry and Lupin with Malfoy, the Potions teacher comes to Lupin with the idea of trading... except it's not that simple, not anymore. Because Remus is tired of it. So terribly tired...
A fight and a memory...
Lupin's angry at Snape; so angry he wants to fight. But Snape's got another weapon... somehow, words that awaken some painful memories can do more damage than curses. Much more damage.
Lupin and Malfoy patrol in the castle... together. And something unexpected happens...
Lupin goes to Dumbledore with the hope that the Headmaster will agree with his plan. But even if he does, it looks desperate.
Remus leaves the Shrieking Shack: too many memories, too much pain. He knows he'll have to take that Portkey; but whether Harry will come or not, he doesn't know yet.
Remus brings Harry to a place where he would have liked never to have to come back. And, yes, that's right, this story is NOW FINISHED!!!
