I was too scared to utter the counter curse and hear what my visitor had to say so I sat and stared at everything but the body sat in the centre of the room.

“And all I’ve seen for the past year is a pathetic little girl who runs from both her problems and the people who love her!” Sirius hissed back and I was suddenly on my feet. Before I knew what I was even doing, I was stood in front of him and my hand was stinging from the slap I’d just given him.

I actually laughed. I seriously couldn’t help myself.

“Sweetie, I already had him so obviously he did want someone like me…many, many times. 8 Chapter 8

“What’s wrong?” J was looking at me with concern. I tried to pass it off as nothing but she wouldn’t have it. “You’ve got that little frown between your eyebrows that you only get when something upsets you and your jaw is so tense I’m worried you might not be able to open it again,” she giggled as she pulled the piece of parchment out of my hands. I watched her eyes scan the letter and froze when I saw the betrayal in her eyes.

“You could always join me,” I breathed into his ear as I placed a soft kiss on his neck.

He glanced down at me with a small smirk, “Very tempting, Miss Potter,” he winked.

I knew I’d won.

“James Potter, will you pay me some bloody attention!”

“I was listening to you, you just kept calling my name, can you blame me if I got a bit distracted?” I winked and she blushed before remembering that she was angry.

“Your imagination will be the only thing distracting you for the foreseeable future if you don’t start listening to me"

“Stop hiding it and lying to everyone! While you were asleep, you couldn’t keep me out. I got in. I saw everything.” Sirius’ face was inches from my own and I could see the horror reflected within his eyes.

Some mornings, I resented myself for looking into her head that day, for taking advantage of her vulnerable state to uncover what exactly she had been hiding from me for weeks.
