There were times when she felt as if she were out of place. Did she really belong with the family she was born to? She didn't quite know how she felt when she knew watched someone she loved hurt another for sheer pleasure. She hated being asked when she would join Lord Voldemort's ranks, for she knew why she had yet to join them.
"And you thought it was a good idea to bring her here? Merlin, Evans. Where is your head today?! What's my number one rule?" growled Moody, but he didn't give Lily the time to answer. He quickly shouted, "Constant vigilance!"
The Parting of the Ways
“Wait…” he muttered, his eyes widening as the realization dawned on him.
“I promised Lily that I would look after you. That I would protect you,” he said, “and I won’t go back on my promise. She trusts you, and so I’m choosing to do the same, but I don’t want to hear any of your excuses or your apologies.”
Sirius had always been the odd one out when it came to the games she and her cousins would play. Now that she thought about it, she didn’t know if she had ever seen him truly be himself or be happy for that matter. Seeing him now, she was relieved to see that he was happy. He had found his rightful family with the Potters.
