I tried to keep my voice down worried I’d wake the other occupants but I just wanted to scream.  When he didn’t move I practically growled, “I’m sick of not being able to go anywhere.  Sick of being stuck in apartments and cabins and never allowed to step outside on my own.  Have you ever felt trapped, Sirius?  It’s not a good feeling.  We aren’t meant to be caged.  I hope you never feel this way.”

Sirius immediately stepped to the side to let me pass.

Standing once again, I finished the perimeter of the room.  A mere two paces each wall with no possible exit besides the stairs.  No shelves on the walls, no ornamentation that could even hint where I was.  I found the stairs again and felt my way up them on my hands and knees.  Eleven steps total, and at the top, I was again met with seamless stone.

A touch to my shoulder immediately unwrapped my arms, sending them flailing in that direction. I scrambled away, tumbling into a table and kicking out hard. I connected with a soft target who wheezed in response, “Merlin, calm down, Holly.”
