Part One; Chapter One
Let him go away, she prayed desperately, let him go away. Please.
“Regardless of my brother’s opinions,” he interrupted her, “I would rather keep you alive than preserve the so-called family honor.”
Who was he to come intruding on her life after all these years? Never a letter, never a word from him… he had no business asking those kinds of questions.
Part Two; Chapter Four
It was serious business, being schooled at this level. Three intense years focused on the major of your choice, in pursuit of that almost unattainable title Master.
“St. Inclemen’s doesn’t ask people to come to their school,”
No one held her to the old standards but him. No one expected their pureblood daughters to be completely ignorant of sex, profanity, politics and anything else that mattered but him.
“So,” he said crisply, “You think you want to take this class?”
Leona wished she could say what she did next was unthinking, but that would have been a lie. She knew exactly what she was doing, and why she was doing it.
When Leona had come to the disappointed conclusion that he wouldn’t say anything at all, he spoke. “Why did you sleep with me?”
“Mr. Snape,” Pravido said, in the kind of voice that told Leona he was choosing his words carefully, “Miss Harlaw has just told me a rather interesting story.”
Leona resented the glee in his face. This was supposed to make him a better Occlumens than her? Merlin, she knew half of what he was thinking.
Leona handed her bags to a house elf and smoothed her hair, looking every bit the poised, perfect, virginal pureblood witch she was supposed to be.
“Of course I’m not bloody well alright!” Leona practically screamed. Never in her life had her trust been so violated.
It was like him trying to be gentle was like Pravido trying to show emotion. Like it was practiced… like he had to think about doing it.
Unkind words were bad.
It was dated to before the fall holiday, just after they’d been married. Right around the time Severus had started vanishing in the middle of the night.
“When were you planning on telling me? Or did you decide to take a vow of celibacy?”
