Prelude: Where We Begin
As I stood on the edge of the platform, staring up at the Crimson colored train, only one thought was on my mind; This is it. There’s no going back now. All you have to do is step up onto the train, just like everyone else, and it’ll all be over.
Welcome to Hogwarts
“Yeah, but we’ll catch up later, there’s a woman waiting for us over that way,” Brooke said, leading the way. We rushed after her and she led us to a woman waiting under a streetlamp.
The Luck of the Draw
"Ah, let's see here," it said, "Loyality...and a ferocity to complete tasks given to you. And there's power, an imense amount of power you have yet to discover." I shook with nerves under the hat as it continued on. "Unlike your friends, you have a desire to bring good to this world. Yes, I see great things to come from you, just like him. I think you would best be suited for...GRYFFINDOR!"
A Dangerous Encounter
Nice going August. You’ve already made an enemy…and a dangerous one at that.
What the Mind's Eye Holds
I smiled, satisfied that I had just imagined it. But the beating in my chest, the sped-up pace of my heart, confused me. It was as if I had wanted him to say that. But it had to be a mistake. I liked Cedric, though I'd just met him, but...why was my heart telling me something different?
Your Guardian Angel
I felt my heartbeat in my chest, and lay my hand over it. How many of these nightmares would I keep having? Pretty soon I’d be too afraid to close my eyes, and that was something I couldn’t deal with. But as for that night, I knew my sleep was gone. So I lay in bed, staring at the overhead canopy, wondering what everything meant, and if I would find the answers I was seeking.
They'll Only Hold you Down
“Remember this,” it was a girl’s voice hissing sharply. “Lay another hand on Draco, come within 100 feet of him…or even look at him wrong,” I felt her tighten her grip on my hair, pulling my head back even farther. “And you’ll get far worse than a broken nose.”
Defenses Rise, and They Fall
“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” she said quietly. I could only smile, feeling the satisfaction of knowing she knew I cared for her. “You’re welcome,” I whispered, closing my eyes as well.
My heart picked up speed at the sound of his words. Why was it that he could affect me so? I didn’t know, and probably never would. But I knew one thing for certain, and it replayed over and over in my mind, even as I lay in bed that night; I was beginning to fall for Fred Weasley.
