The Last Summer
It was my last day of freedom before school started. It was my last day of summer break. Ever. I was going into the real world after this school year. I would have a job. I would get a house. This was it. I was glad it had been fun.
Dumbledore welcomed us with the usual rules, and the boys ate just like I remembered them; like they had been starving for weeks. As head girl and boy, Lily and James had to stay after for a quick meting with the headmaster, and Remus had to help usher the first years to the tower. So I was left with Sirius and Peter. I was not so happy about that.
He was the schools biggest man whore. Maybe the biggest slut in the whole country. Maybe even all of Europe. What he had said to me was probably a line, one he used on many different girls at many different points in time. I wasn’t falling for it, I didn’t have the slightest of romantic feeling for him. But the possibility of discovering what was so special about him intrigued me. I was curious about what the big deal was, and so I let it happen. I let Sirius Black kiss me. Biggest. Mistake. Ever.
Then I was attacked. No joke. I was running, then all of a sudden I had run into a very large and very solid wall. I fell to the floor, the wall landing on top of me knocking the breath from my lungs. The wall groaned and moved, only making the pressure on my rib cage worse. Turns out the so called wall was none other than Sirius Black. Yup, the number of my awkward encounters was rising and it was only the second week.
So I take back what I said.
The Day After
I froze up because Sirius sent me a look from across the whole pub. Our eyes locked. His gaze was intent, like he was trying to read my thoughts. Then as we continued to gaze at each other his urgency melted away. His expression turned soft, and then we were just... looking at each other.
“Get up. I’ll do it.” James’s face lit up as he jumped to his feet. He engulfed me in a large hug. I rolled my eyes, but allowed him to drape an arm around me and steer me into the great hall, jabbering away the whole time about practice schedules and training regiments.
The Night Out
“I’m sorry.” He said as we stopped in front of the fruit bowl. My anger had worn out by that time. I could never stay angry with Remus for long. He was the only person who could melt my temper with just a smile. Remus was my achilles heal.
The Apparent Walk of Shame
“You’re one to talk you look like absolute rubbish and your hair looks as though there might be birds nesting in it!” He tried to mess my hair even more, but I slapped his hand away. Then Remus got this evil glint in his eye and attacked me, trying to destroy what good was left of my hair. I shrieked and laughed, swatting one hand away while still keeping his other clasped firmly in my hand. We pushed into the common room to find it empty.
Throughout the entire class I tried to ignore how close Sirius’ body was to my own, and tried not to shiver as he gently ran his hands along my leg under the desk. When we were finally dismissed I was the first to leap from my seat and was out the door before most people even had packed their things.
The Halloween Dance
Everything about him was like a drug, a highly addictive one that I shouldn’t be taking. But I wanted it so badly.
I needed to break this off before he had a chance to break me. For real this time, I was going to do it. Only just this evening at dinner, he was making not so subtle comments that alluded to our little dalliance. This was fast growing into something I didn’t want, nor something I could handle.
I peered at the boy on the floor. He looked familiar, but I couldn’t place him.
The Death of a Tryst
“It wasn’t idiotic of you to come and spend time with your friends Bee.”
