It's strange how the mention of a simple name can upset her so, Minerva thinks, as she tries to concentrate on Albus's speech. But to no avail, for he haunts her already and whispers sweet words into her ear. Tom Riddle. And with that name, a flood of memories comes to take her more than fifty years into the past.
A Strange Boy
It was September 1937 and the newcomers didn't look at the faces of the older students, all but one. He was a small boy with neatly-parted black hair, somewhat ill-fitting robes and an intense blue stare, that was intently fixed on Minerva.
Minerva has never been too fond of going home over the holidays, but letters to Tom make it bearable- and she finds herself starting to become dependent on him.
