She decided to throw caution to the wind - she flung the curtains aside to reveal her presence. James, wide-eyed, straightened quickly, taken by surprise by the sudden noise.
His expression quickly changed, and he looked momentarily pained by her rudeness. "You know, sometimes I think you're a really awful girl, Evans," he snapped.
James leaned one arm up against the door, and his lean frame towered over her. She felt mildly trapped, but didn't mind it much at all. She felt her cheeks flush once more.
She still felt her insides squirm whenever she thought of him, sick with anticipation and yearning to see him again, for him to smile at her, or flirt a little as he'd always done.
Lily felt terrible. And she had come to a decision. She slowly got out of bed so that it wouln't creak and wake the other girls, and then crept silently across the room, letting herself out the door.
