Rule number one when dealing with boys like James and Sirius- never let them know they bug you.
"Books?" He sniggered.
At first it had seemed like rubbish. Just a bear bit of spare parchment. Not worth much. But one simple phrase I'd heard Sirius utter tons of times before, as a joke, made this map come to life.
Rule #4. You must never let a boy take off the Pants (although, you may take them off, yourself, in his presence).
"....A strange dream swirled dizzily in my head. Such a bizzare dream. But it refused to be pushed into the vault of dreams I forgot and never revisited. It stubbornly swirled around in my mind, refusing to leave. It was so incredibly vivid but there was no way it could ever be real. Such a far-fetched, scary, heavenly, insane, wonderful dream. I almost didn't want to let it go......"
....As if being a teenage girl isn't hard enough without all of this extra baggage. I swear, I am going to go prematurely gray and it'll be all their fault....
"I-I know." I said in a weak voice, "It's just PMS." I lied. I hadn't had my period since the end of October. But, I couldn't think of any other reasonable, believable explaination for my sudden emotional outburst. And it wasn't like I could just go, I'm crying because I gave up my virginity and it threw my effing hormones all out of whack!

The Dreaded New Years Eve
When I see professional clowns, mimes, or people who makes ballon animals, I think of their relatives and how disappointed they must be.
"...My brain screamed, frantically at my arms as they wrapped around his neck, my hands for winding themselves in his short silky black hair. It told my stomach to get a grip and stop trembling, forbid my knees to melt. It bellowed at my mouth, telling it to unfuse from his. But none of them listened..."
"...I'd just made a mistake that no other girl at Hogwarts had dared to make..."
There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up.
...."I know your secret, Arabella Haze." ....
....'Don't even lose your temper with Mr. Black and one of his new girlfriends.'...
"...I'd already practically faded into the dusty tapestries. I would soon be a memory that echoed through the castle. A whisper that bounced off the walls. To the people here (all but James and Effie) I'd be a mere ghost. Someone who didn't really exist any longer. I would be shoved back into the darkest back chamber of their minds and there, I would be completely forgotten...."
A Simple Phrase
If he'd only phrased it differently.
In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
...."And I don't count Sirius's little episode as a kiss. I more consider it an assault. And I think he's a narcissistic arse who lied about loving me," I lied. His name burned in my throat on the way up. "So, honestly, I didn't feel the need to read his letter. He's got plenty of slags at his disposal and I refuse to be one of them anymore." ...
