Slowly, not stepping fully into the dim light Rostam Ayers walked out from behind the bookshelf. An involuntary shiver coursed through my body. It was over.

“That’s me?” I asked, horrified by the thought. The boy next to me nodded. “And that’s you?” He nodded again. I swallowed, looking at the weak, pale reincarnation of myself down below.
Chapter 22- The Close
I watched their eagerness to welcome me back and their readiness to forgive and overlook the things I’d done and knew, I knew that I’d never have made it through this year without them.
