"And if you don't mind me asking, who would you be?" James asked, looking at me curiously. "I-I'm...I'm...I can't remember," I faltered, looking at them in a confused manner. I kept prying into my mind, trying to find anything that could possibly be of any importance, but there was nothing. My mind was absolutely blank.
Shopping With The Marauders
Well, I guess now would be a good time to sit down. I sat down on the floor where I was previously sprawled out and crossed my legs over each other and sat, rubbing my now very, very sore backside. "What are you doing?" Sirius asked. "I'm waiting for someone to find me as well as tending to my very sore backside," I answered. "Well, that definitely seems more logical than getting yourself even more lost," Sirius said. "Yes it does," I said.
The Hogwarts Express
"Every year, Sirius and I have placed bets that by the end of the year, James and Lily will have gotten together, but every year, I saw they won't and I win. How many years is it now Sirius?" Remus asked. "Four," Sirius grumbled. "But this is the year, I can feel it! They'll get together, I'm so sure that I'll bet 50 galleons on it."
"Do you guys know who 'Mr. King' is?" I asked the two. "A muggle singer that goes by the name of 'Elvis Presley'?" Marlene suggested for Remus to give her an odd look. "What? My parents always listen to that guy." "Whatever. He's actually coming over right now," Remus answered as I turned around to see.
Bludgers and Quidditch
"It's the Quidditch Pitch," James responded. I had no clue what Quidditch was, or even what a pitch was, but James and Sirius seemed absolutely delighted by it. "What's Quidditch?" I asked. The two looked like they were going to die of heart failure, or attack me for not knowing. Either way, it couldn't be good. "What's Quidditch? What's Quidditch?" Sirius asked, obviously enraged by my ignorance of the thing in question. "It's only the best things known to the wizarding world!"
Of Brothers, Balls And Other Things
"Eleanor, don't walk away from me!" He yelled after me, running to catch up. "Don't use my full name!" I yelled back at him. "Why can't you see that I'm just trying to protect you like a good older brother would?" He asked, trying to catch up my quick pace. "Don't even bother! You're not my brother! I don't have one!" I screamed at him.
More Than Expected
I had felt nothing like that before. Swarms of butterflies had been flying around in my stomach, my heart pounding and there was this...spark. More like fireworks. Actually, it was more like five huge fireworks shows.
Some Trouble In Paradise
"Yeah?" She asked, nuzzling into my chest, making herself comfortable. God, this was like a dream come true. "How can you be so trusting after something like that happened?" I asked. "Because I know you Remmy, and you would never hurt me on purpose. I know that," She whispered, sending a chill up my spine. "I'm really sorry about how I've been acting lately. I haven't really been myself."
Justice Is Served
"Miss Knightley, it is very unfortunate for me to have to give you this news, but we have to bring in Mr. King for interviewing as well." I was on feet within milliseconds. "NO! Please don't! I don't want to see him! Please Professor don't!" I begged; tears streaming down my face as James wrapped his arms around me protectively, trying to calm me down with little shushing noises. "I'm very sorry, but this is important to the investigation," Dumbledore said with a look of pure sadness in his eyes.
Let's Hit The Stage
"Professor, I'm going to outside. I'll explain it to you later," A familiar voice said, picking me up and carrying me somewhere. "LET ME GO! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! YOU'RE THE ONES WHO KILLED MY FATHER! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!" I screamed at them, tears still streaming down my face.
Home For The Holidays
Just as I was about to turn the page, Elle fell off my shoulder and now had her head in my lap. Amazingly enough, she was still fast asleep. "Okay, so we got a whole bunch of candy for everyone," James said as they walked into the compartment. "Now what's going on here?" "Elle fell off my shoulder and into my lap. Nothing more," I said as James and Sirius exchanged looks. "Don't exchange your stupid little looks! She's out cold!"
"Did he ever find true love?" I asked. Where did that come from? "Yes, I believe he did. Someone who knew of his condition but loved him unconditionally, even though he kept telling her how dangerous he was and how she deserved better. She was quite the stubborn one actually," The lady said, chuckling to herself before picking up a statue of a fairy. "It was actually this fairy."
Sirius Likes Christmas. A Lot.
"I'm going to kill him! I thought he was alseep!" Sirius said, sounding outraged. "I didn't tell you!" I said quickly and he nodded before running down the stairs, searching for the location of James. All of a sudden, there was a loud crash accompanied by a series of swear words, screaming and more crashes. "I think Sirius found James..." Remus said before laughing. I started laughing too at the absurdity of it all.
Gingerbread And Mistletoe
Please don't let them find me, please don't let them find me," I whispered to myself as I held onto the box for dear life. I could hear light footsteps behind me and I started to run. As fast as I could. I had to get away. I had to get help. More importantly, I had to finish my mission and become queen. I tripped and fell to feel someone's hand around my neck, squeezing tightly as the air started escaping my lungs.
The Christmas Ball
"Okay now, I want you all on your best behaviour. Elle and James, mingle a lot. Talk with lots of different people. That goes for all of you. Some very important people are coming and if you plan on getting a job with the Ministry of Magic, this could definitely help. Sirius, don't bite someone's head off if they ask you about your family. They're just being polite," Mr. Potter said and Sirius grinned sheepishly in response.
"He probably didn't. Most of the Slytherins didn't audition, but after the auditions, Professor Maestro found that he needed more people, so he gave parts to all of the seventh years," Lily said. "Let's go to class." As we were about to walk out of the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall stopped us. "All seventh years are to stay in here until a specific announcement is made," She answered and we nodded before going back to where we were sitting previously.
They were wearing purple, frilly dresses, had fair skin, and dark curly hair that was quite long. They also had purple wings tattooed on their faces, just like mine. The only difference between them was their eyes. One doll had purple eyes and the other had coffee brown.
"Nuh-uh. Not here," Rebecca said, turning me around, glaring at them and starting to walk me away from them, but I stopped dead in my tracks and could feel the anger that has been waiting to be set free from inside me build up until I practically exploded. Anger at Andrew for what he tried to do to me, anger at the pack of werewolves that attacked my home, anger at Sirius for what he had done, and anger at the person that attacked me and took my memories.
She took off the sheet to reveal something made of stone, with silver, swirling liquid inside of it. Sirius took out his wand and placed it to his head, slowly pulling it away with a silvery thing coming out becfore he pushed it down with his wand, and into the basin.
Confess Part I
"What happened to you?" "I-I can't tell you," He stuttered, not making eye contact with me, a pained expression on his face. "Why not?" "Because...because it will change how you think of me," Remus said, looking down at his hands, like he was ashamed of whatever happened. "You wouldn't even want to look at me anymore, and I don't think I could handle that."
Confess Part II
There were a few minutes of pure silence between us where neither of us dared move, as we waited for each other's reactions. This flipped my whole world upside down. Remus, my Remus, was a werewolf? How did this happen?
"I'm not going on that thing!" I shouted, digging my heels into the ground and letting go of Remus, causing me to fall on my butt so I sat there refusing to get up. "Elle, get up," Remus said exasperatedly. "No." "Please?" "No." "Fine, we'll do things my way," Remus said before coming over to me, picking me up with ease and slinging me over his shoulder before picking up my carry-on bag.
Blast From The Past
I turned around to see a girl the same height as me, with bright, fire engine red hair that reached her chest and had side bangs that sweeped off to the side of her face. She had on dark black eyeliner that went off into wings. "Can I help you?" I asked, trying to be polite as I could, but I had no clue who she was. "Don't you recognize me Nono?" The girl asked. That sounded so familiar...Nono..."Eleanor, it's me, Addie."
Girl in the Mirror
"Wow, someone's really packed on the pounds." "Rebecca!" I exclaimed, looking over at her in disbelief over what she had just said about me. "What?" She asked, looking at me as if I was insane. "Why would you say that?" I asked, feeling very self-conscious in this dress now. "I didn't say anything, Elle," She said, looking at me in a genuinely concerned way. "I thought I heard...nevermind."
It's Your Birthday
"Please, just leave me alone. You're complicating everything." "I need to show you something, and it's important," Another voice said. "Fine, but be quick about it because Remus is waiting for me," Elle said. At least, I hoped it was Elle. Both voices sounded so incredibly similiar, but there was just a slight difference in the tone. It went dead quiet for at least five minutes before I heard crying.
"Why am I crying? I'm not sad," I said through my tears. "You're crying because you're happy," Remus said, wiping the tears away gently with his thumbs before enveloping me in a hug.
I made my way down the stairs with a smile on my face just thinking about seeing my fiancé when I saw that all the Marauders plus Lily, Marlene and Rebecca were already awake and staring at the fire in the common room in silence.
Six Years Later
"Don't make this any harder for me than it already is," Elle said, her eyes glistening with tears before Apparating away.
Unexpected and Unwanted Reunions
I had been freaking out ever since Addie had told me about what happened at the club in full detail. I didn't need him finding me. The Prophecy hadn't come true yet, so I knew that I wasn't safe yet. And neither was he. Maybe he just thought it was a coincidence that they ran into each other. Yeah, that was probably it.
A Day Out
I looked around and saw Remus sitting in the corner, in one of the booths. I took a deep breath and walked over, using my Leah walk and sliding into the seat across from him. He already had a a mug of coffee in front of him as he examined the menu.
He walked up to the door and knocked but no one seemed to be answering. "Open up you guys. It's me, Remus." The door opened and I knew I shouldn't have come. I knew it. I knew I should've taken off the spell, but I didn't. Standing in the doorway was James, Lily, Marlene, Rebecca and Sirius.
"I've made a very important decision." "And what would that decision be about?" He asked, coming closer to me. "About me staying here. About the future. About...us," I told him nervously, hoping with all of my heart and soul that I was making the right decision about all of this. I twisted the engagement ring on my finger nervously as I waited for him to respond. "And?"
"W-what?" I stuttered, sitting up and looking at him as if he was absolutely bonkers. He still wanted to marry? After all that had happened? After everything I had done to him? "I asked if you wanted to get married," Remus said simply, as if it was the least complex thing in the world.
"Thanks," I replied half-heartedly. How was I supposed to know how I looked if I couldn't even look in a mirror to see? I was going to have to wait weeks to see how I actually looked once the pictures were developed. "You could just look, you know," Addie informed me when she saw the look in my eyes. "What if she does something?" I snapped.
Not As It Seems
Everything was perfect until the middle of May, that's when everything started to go wrong.
"Oh, so you're her mother. She's in the medical room over here - she's not feeling too well," She said, leading me through the office and into the back. It was a small room with a bed pushed up against the wall, some first aid supplies and a bathroom. Abbie was lying in the bed, fast asleep. "I guess she must've fallen asleep. She was in the middle of one of her classes and got really nauseous. Her teacher brought her here and she got sick."
"Hello?" "Mommy? Can you come get me from school? I don't feel good," She said and I could tell from the strain of her voice that she honestly didn't feel well, and that worried me. "I'll be right there," I told her before hanging up. I quickly dialed another number.
Healer Yehzur finally came back in, but I couldn't read the look on her face. Usually, I could tell what was on someone's mind by their face or the look in their eyes. But there was no expression on her face, making it so that I couldn't even begin to guess what she was going to tell us. "What's wrong with her?" I asked, jumping to my feet. "I'm afraid the diagnosis is anywhere from being good. Abigail has -
Healer Yehzur said that Abbie's health was increasing and that she'd be able to come home in a few days if it continued on this path. It was great! We couldn't have been any happier. We were already making plans for a surprise welcome home party when something happened.
She lived a month and nineteen days since the day she was diagnosed. Twelve days less than the first person who had been diagnosed with it. And much less than we all expected.
It felt like it took hours alone just to find the book I was looking for, and then even more hours to look through the book and find the right pages. I ran my finger under the words, reading the words once, twice, three times before it finally sunk in. I knew what I had to.
"NO!" I screamed, running to Elle as Annie disappeared, a happy smile on her face like she had been freed from something. Elle collapsed to the ground, still holding the dagger that was plunged in her chest. "Elle, please, stay with me."
