Introduction to Faye Allard.
“Well, looks like we weren’t the only people who wanted to get to class early today.” A voice said from behind Rowan. “Little Ravenclaws wanted to come too.”
“Hello, Allard, top of the morning!” Sirius said brightly, sitting down besides me and smiling widely. I rolled my eyes.
“I heard Galvin’s only after her for one thing.”
“I’m fine,” But a sob gave way through my throat, making an ugly unattractive gurgling noise.
“The day Sirius Black settles down is the day I get a Cornish Pixie as a pet.”
“I can’t resist beautiful girls, James. You know this. Even when they’re taken. That doesn’t usually stop me.” Sirius winked at me as he said this and I dug my elbow into his side as Galvin stomped over.
“Detention?” I croaked.
“There’s nothing to talk about.” His voice was hollow. “Leave. Me. Alone.” The whole Hall seemed to intake a breath.
“I love you,” He whispered, kissing me roughly again before letting go. He scampered off with some of the other Quidditch players who had turned up, and he turned back once to wave me goodbye as I headed off in the other direction, alone.
“You have very pretty blue eyes, you know. They’re really quite striking. It’s as if you’re hiding the universe behind them.”
