Don't Breathe on Me
“Ok – I’m done. Are you happy?” Lola glanced up at Barnelby, who merely stared back, emotionless. Overlooking this, Lola continued: “It’s miserable here today. I wonder why it’s so crowded…” Barnelby again acted completely and utterly uninterested as the bar maid came and cleaned their drinks away and gave them the check, which Barnelby made Lola pay.
The Best Kind of Betrayal
A person that Lola never saw appeared out of nowhere. As she looked up at her brother’s face, she saw it transform from stern to fear and then back to hatred again. Barnelby gazed Lola in the eyes, almost affectionately, his lips trembling. He quickly raised his wand, before Lola could even react, and pointed it directly at her heart.
Againts All Odds
Shrugging the thought from her head as if it were a bad dream, Lola accepted the hand that Henry had outstretched. She told herself that it was so she could walk, not because she wanted it. She had never seen the destruction of such innocence before. It boggled her mind to think that someone had killed a young girl who was – who had been so full of life.
