When I First Saw You
5 years…that’s how long I stayed in my own solitude, in my dorm room away from all the prying eyes and ears of my fellow Slytherin’s. EWE! I hate that word, I Hate them all, and I HATE MY LIFE.
The Closer I Get to You
The first few weeks of school went by quickly and more and more rumors had spread about me all over the school. Apparently I was a disguised vampire, who was working for Voldemort, but could only go out in the daylight because…well, I guess all the jealous females that made this up couldn’t figure that part out.
The Halloween Ball
The next few weeks leading up to the ball flew by in a blur, especially for me. I stayed in the company of the trio, in fact, some people got confused about whether I was a Gryffindor or a Slytherin and eventually started calling me a Gryfferin. There was new gossip to speak of everyday, and at the top of the list was the fact that Harry Potter was dating Christine Parker, the new most popular girl in school was with the most sought after guy in school.
The next day I woke up to the sounds of Harry softly snoring in my ear. For a moment I just sat there smiling as thoughts of last night bounced around my head. Harry’s arms were still wrapped around me as he slept peacefully, besides the occasional snore. I sat there quietly for a few minutes just staring out the window before I felt him began to move as he awoke from his serene state with a yawn.
The Start of Something New
Hermione and I raced down the stairs all the way to the dungeons, only slowing down when walking past the Great Hall. We paused just after passing through the door to the dungeons, so that Hermione could slip under the cloak. Luckily the halls were completely deserted, making it even easier to get Hermione into the common room.
My First Night
After a few short hours in the room of requirement, Harry and I decided to go back to the Gryffindor common room and let everyone get used to my presence there. After all, I’d be there until the end of the year or until McGonagall found out, which ever came first.
The Lion and The Snake
The first week in November went by in a flash and now the first quidditch match of the season between Gryffindor and Slytherin was coming up and both houses had begun to fight constantly. Not that they didn’t do that all the time as it was; they just increased the intensity of the fighting. All Slytherin’s were attacking Gryffindor players, house members, and supporters.
I stood outside the locker room waiting for Harry for a while as I watched the rest of the team saunter out and make their way to the party. After they all finally left the locker room I knew for sure that Harry would be out in any moment. Nope. Ten minutes later, still no Harry, not even a head poked out of the door to tell me he’d be a while. So before I could lose my temper, I decided to take a small risk and invite myself in. BIG MISTAKE!
All in Love is Fair
The next few weeks went by in a blur and before I knew it, it was December. The weather grew colder than ever, almost as if the castle was made of ice rather than stone. During the weeks after the match the excitement and bliss that resulted had slowly began to dissipate until only boring life was left. Sadly classes continued even though nobody seemed to be learning a thing, besides Hermione, as usual.
Dance With Me
Pavarti left us as soon as we entered the room saying something about having a date or something. To be honest, I wasn’t really listening since Harry had taken over all of my attention. What can I say, I hadn’t seen him in hours and in a relationship like ours that can feel like days.
Then next few days after the party went by in a dull blur. Everyone returned to their normal weekend routines as if nothing had every happened and spent most of the winter days locked inside studying or sleeping. Sunday night at dinner Dumbledore announced that there would be a New Years ball and talent show on New Years Eve when everyone got back from Christmas break.
Frenzied Anguish. Sweltering Rage. Bitter Misery. Frozen Pain. From the moment I woke up I suffered through this cycle of emotions. I felt nothing but ice around my heart as I rose from my bed and began my normal morning routine.
Beauty's Fairy Tale
Dark. Dreadful. Deadly. I searched the room around me, my bedroom in London, and found that everything was shattered on the floor. There was no distinction between one object or another; it was all just bits and pieces of horrid memories.
This sucks! I finally have the time alone that I so desperately wanted, and it sucks. I sit around restlessly day after day waiting for someone, anyone to pop out of nowhere and tell me to do something. Like a zombie I float out of the common room every day for meals only to return an hour or so later to my restless spot next to the windows I’d slept by after the Halloween Ball.
This is Us
“Hermione?” I called again as I detached myself from Harry and we both stood to our feet. Despite my call she kept moving as though she had heard nothing. We watched in confusion as she approached us slowly with her trunk floating behind her, her head bowed toward the ground and her shoulders gently shaking with the sound of soft sobs that floating to my ears.
My mind was whirling as I sat there feeling the heat rise from the back of my neck before slowly covering my cheeks. Without even lifting my eyes from what I was doing I could feel his gaze as it roamed my body, causing me to shake slightly with anticipation. I slowly lifted my head to sneak a glance at him before quickly staring back down as my blush brightened and a shy smile carved its way onto my lips.
Ok, I have say that bringing the whole school back early from their relaxing vacations, had to be one of Dumbledore’s worst ideas ever. I know he’s like the greatest headmaster Hogwarts has ever had, but damn, I swear I’m going to kill someone soon. Sure, I’m not bored anymore, but that stopped almost a week ago when Harry, Hermione, Pavarti, and the Weasley’s arrived.
“Ms. Parker, must you make it a habit to interrupt my class.” Snape snarled at me heatedly. “Of course not Professor; why whatever do you mean?” I spat back in a falsely sweet tone. Of course I knew what he meant, since this was the second time this week that I’d taken to ignoring his dull drone as he spoke about the properties of basilisk venom. Instead, I spent my time more wisely by annoying my housemates.
A sharp pain spread along my left side from the sharp collision of my body hitting the hard wood floor. I reach for my head hoping to ease the ache as the throbbing and pounding causing stars to dance behind my eyes. Despite the dizziness and bruising, I quickly sat up, knowing that I needed to keep moving, keep pushing through obstacles, and keep running. I staggered to my feet, opening my eyes once again to the darkness surrounding me,
"You OK?" Hermione questioned when she stopped hearing the scratch of my quill on the partchment. We'd spent the last half hour since dinner in the library working diligently on the mountain of homework we'd received today, as per the regular Monday Torture. I
Happy Birthday part 2
My eyes shot open as burst of red hit my gaze. I felt the sinister meaning of those words snake down my spine, sending chills all through my body at the thought. My stomach churned with bile, attempting to digest the dream I’d just witnessed. Was it real?
Because of You
As always, my dramatic moment eventually passed. I wiped my eyes of all tears, repaired the thick brick wall around my heart, and climbed back out of my hideaway to face the world once more. This was not the first time I had to pull myself up by my bootstraps, and skillfully put on my mask of teenage indifference to hide my real feelings, and it would not be the last. If anything, that was always for certain.
