Ask Ms. Anonymous
“Well most of the people writing in ask questions about relationships don’t they?” Tom asked, reaching for a basket of muffins. “You don’t exactly have a lot of experience in that area. I mean you’ve had…no boyfriends…like ever.”
He was cut off as a girl with long, curly hair came next to him and slammed him off balance with her shoulder.
“Sirius,” Kathleen breathed, turning to face him. “I’m not going to dodge around the subject.” She took a breath. “I want to break up.” These words hit Sirius and all he could do was break into laughter.
“Maybe he won’t tell anyone,” Maggie suggested timidly. She smiled at the thought.
“I lie about my grades.” Sirius’ response was so unexpected that Ava’s jaw almost dropped. She had never thought yelling at him might actually prompt an answer.
Sirius brushed his now greasy hair out of his eyes and washed the cream from his face. He reached for some paper towel and dried himself off. When he looked in the mirror he let out a yell of shock. His face was covered in a crazy design of pimples.
“You were gleeful,” Tom shot back. “And as your best friend I’m just telling you that I saw some sort of spark between you two.”
“You first,” Ava insisted. Tom’s entire face was lit up and his eyes were twinkling. She knew it had to be big news if he was looking like this.
“Who cares?” Sirius grinned, shrugging his shoulders. “Never thought you would care about that.”
MS. ANONYMOUS EXPOSED!
“I’ve got the answer,” Sirius exclaimed brightly. “I’m going to write!” Remus stared back at him, confused.
By the next morning, Ava was singing a completely different tune.
