Chapter One - Brand New Beginnings

Charlotte says goodbye to her mother and grandmother for the year and leaves to her father’s house, where she discovers more information about her family’s mysterious past, but from this erupts more questions that go unanswered.

When Charlotte boards the Hogwarts Express, she finds that her expectations of the oncoming year were far from being accurate.
Chapter Four - The Empath
Charlotte meets with Dumbledore, who explains what life has in store for her. On her way back to Gryffindor Tower, Charlotte's feet carry her far from her destination and literally into someone she wasn't expecting.
Chapter Five - The Expected and Unexpected
Charlotte finds herself with a new boyfriend, new friends, and a rather lovely life. Her Empathy powers begin to become a nagging problem, and on All Hallow's Eve, Charlotte receives a very unwelcome, unexpected visitor.
Chapter Six - Siren's Song
As Charlotte's horrific night unfolds, she finds that as soon as life seems to go well, something will always bring you down. A gift from her father helps her to cope, as does yet another visitor in her newly discovered place of solitude.
Chapter Seven - What's the Point?
Charlotte and Sirius have their second encounter, but this time they part on good terms. Charlotte finally manages to catch up with Severus and discovers his summer was even more haunting than hers. Charlotte becomes obsessed with discovering the identity of the eavesdropper, who managed to learn about her family's past, and in the process puts her relationship with Amos on the rocks.
Chapter Eight - Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor
After an unfair defeat in last year's Quidditch Cup Final, Gryffindor restarts the season with a highly anticipated game against Ravenclaw. In post-match euphoria, one team member gets a surprise from a young woman in a high-risk situation.
Chapter Nine - The Wolf in the Tower
For one moment of glory, one silly little moment where Charlotte got what she wanted, she hurts everyone she holds dear. Just when she thinks she has no way out, no one to understand or even listen, she finds comfort in an unsuspecting stranger with their own set of problems.
Chapter Ten - The Art of Falling
Sometimes, all you need is to fall in order to get back up again.
Chapter Eleven - She Who Intoxicates (Sirius's Interlude)
Charlotte receives some new information regarding her Sirenhood from Dumbledore, which sounds incredibly helpful given the circumstances of the wizarding world. Sirius's thoughts and feelings are chronicled, and he knows he must make a decision about Charlotte.
Chapter Twelve - A Disappointing Holiday
Christmas is approaching fast, and tension and hormones are starting to soar at Hogwarts. Charlotte finds that passing three weeks without Lily is going to be harder than she thought, and the inevitable question still presses: what will be the eventual outcome of Charlotte and Sirius's discussion?
Chapter Thirteen - Grief to Grace
Sirius's words take a toll on Charlotte, as well as her relationship with Severus. Realisations are made. After a week of adeptly avoiding one another, Charlotte and Sirius have an abnormal first encounter.
Chapter Fourteen - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
"This time, Charlotte had no words. Finally, he had said it, those three (or four) words she had so desperately wanted to hear from him. But this was not at all how she imagined he would say it; not after every thing they had already said to each other, not after only five months of knowing him, not at the tender age of sixteen. This was not how she imagined finding love. It was supposed to be like a fairytale, like it said it was in her books.
Chapter Fifteen - The War
Charlotte and Lily discover that someone else's problems might be worse than they thought. Add to that a war, and things seem to be going pretty awful for wizards and witches everywhere.
Chapter Sixteen - The First Dark Mark
The public announcement of war sends the inhabitants of Hogwarts into a panic. Ever faithful, Charlotte waits for her father's response, but one snowy night, the Death Eaters make a bold move and unveil their Dark Mark.
