Off On the Wrong Foot
Lily drew a breath. "You disgust me, Potter." He raised an eyebrow and regarded her with a look of pure disgust. "Oh I assure you, Evans. The feeling is mutual."
Lily gaped at his slumped figure. They were supposed to be working, not sleeping! For the first time in her life, she questioned Dumbledore's sanity. Who would ever think of appointing someone like Potter as Head Boy?
An Unexpected Storm
Lily lifted her head and focused her gaze on him. “I don’t want your pity, Potter. I know how pathetic I must look right now, but you don’t have to act like you care.”
A Quell in the Fighting
To Lily's astonishment, James smirked. It contrasted greatly with his previous condescending attitude. "Good. At least I know you're not a liar."
"I don't think guys are good judges of what's important, especially not you." James frowned. "Why not?" Lily looked at him seriously. "Because you're James Potter."
A Surge of Spontaneity
"Wait...did you just buy that thing?" Lily asked incredulously. "And for...for me?!"
A Night to Remember
James' eyes darkened. "I never used you in any way, Evans, and that's the bloody damn truth."
The Missing Piece in the Puzzle
Remus grinned triumphantly. “Ah, so you do like James.” Lily glared. “I do not! How can I like him?”
Not Who He Was
"You'll never compare with her," James spat. "So don't you dare come near me anymore."
“Damn you, Potter,” Lily said, her voice shaking. “You bloody bastard.”
The Unmasked Reality
"I'm sorry about that kiss, Lily," he whispered, his voice sounding pained. "Did I hurt you?"
Upon the Astronomy Tower
James abruptly lost his temper. “Would you get off that damn idea for a moment?” He smashed his fist into the wall angrily. “Fine! I used you! I pretended you were Aileen every single time I talked to you!” He spun around, his eyes narrowed furiously. “Are you bloody happy now?”
The Haunted Shack
Her world suddenly went black. Lily felt something disturbingly cold on her wrist, and she knew out of pure instinct that the thing did not feel like human skin, or any part of a human for that matter.
Stuck In a Labyrinth
“Because you doubt me!” James’s breathing was ragged now. “You doubt every bloody word I say and every action I take. How the hell can we be friends if you can’t even trust me?”
Creatures of the Forest
She glared at him. “What’s wrong with my feet?” He lifted an eyebrow. “Other than the fact that they’re dripping blood all over the place?”
Getting to the Bottom of Things
She smiled brightly at him. "I guess was just...I was just being a jealous little witch."
James smiled. “Aw, Lily.” And then he swooped down and gave her a light kiss on the cheek.
Arrival of the Salamanders
"Lily," James murmured, "will you go out with me?" Lily looked at him. "Can I say yes to that question?"
Back From the Dead
"You guys won't believe this," James said. "Aileen may not be dead!"
So Long, Farewell
Lily smiled through her tears. She felt as if the sun had exploded within her. She was immersed in warmth, the feeling blinding her with its brilliance. Was this what it felt like to be in love?
And then Lily got it. Seraphe. That would be its name...named after a celestial being...an angel.
