Turned Upside Down
Turned Upside Down // “Come on, don’t tell me you’ve suddenly forgotten everything that’s happened the past ten years!” Seeing Hermione’s pale, white visage, frozen in shock, Draco’s eyes narrowed into slits. “You may want to forget what’s happened these past ten years but I will not let you,” he hissed, his eyes glinting in anger and uncontained rage. “Remember, we married in the same church that wed my mother and father. We used the cover that you were pureblood and they were more than happy to marry us. You live with me now. Understand?" Draco's voice was cold.
Running // Hermione runs to the burrow searching for Ron, only to find out that he's not staying there. Who is there? Ginny, Fred, and George. And when Hermione goes to say hello, what she gets is far from a welcome. I can’t remember what I did, but I must have done something other than marrying Malfoy to earn this kind of welcome, Hermione thought, her eyes wide, as she watched those she had considered friends bring her to her knees.
I'm Sorry // The greatest griefs are those we cause ourselves. When Hermione faces Ron, will all turn out well? Or will all go awry?
Desire // Desire. Hermione almost laughed at the irony of the word. Desire. At one time, she had desired nothing but a quiet, happy life with Ron as a husband and Harry as her best friend. Ginny was always there too, a soul mate; all the Weasleys were. But now Harry was dead and Ron never wanted to speak to her again, for fear of being hurt...
Goodbye...And This Time I Mean It
Goodbye...And This Time I Mean It // She stared at him and he stared at her, neither saying anything, the glances exchanged between them comprehensive enough to be a conversation in themselves. I’m leaving. You can’t stop me! Hermione’s stubborn glances shouted, her expression terrified but firm. Draco’s eyes conveyed his message all too clearly. No you’re not. You either live with me or you don’t live at all.
It Can't Be
It Can't Be // "Memories," Hermione snorted as she ran, the chilly air drying her sweat-streaked face, leaving it dirty and sticky in its wake. Memories. How ironic was it for her to think of memories at such a time, a time when she could hardly even remember who she was....or what she was.
I Hate You
I Hate You // Swirling emotions, conflict, confusion, fighting, haunting memories...will they ever go away? Will Ron ever come back to Hermione? Or is the real question, if he does, will she accept him?
Please Make This Pain Go Away
Please Make This Pain Go Away // Hermione glanced into his eyes and saw hope for a future...a future that Hermione did not know that she could provide. And even though it tore her heart in two to say it, Hermione knew that she must walk away from him, alone, for his protection. “I’m sorry Ron,” she repeated, her voice soft. “I’ve had some time to think too. And I...” Hermione’s voice wavered slightly, but she continued more strongly, determination laced into her voice. “I will not destroy your life as I have mine. Maybe we did belong together once, a long time ago...but not anymore.”
Condemned // Hermione finally discovered some crucial information about her forgotten past. But once she finds out the information she's been so desperately seeking, she wishes that she never would have started looking. For how would you like to awaken one morning to discover that you're a murderer?
Repeating the Past
Repeating the Past // Sometimes life just sucks.
Remembering // Hermione's wished forever that she could remember her past, but now that she begins to, does she even want to anymore?
Unto Utter Desolation
Unto Utter Desolation // Hermione hits the lowest point of her life and, as her tears flow down her cheeks and her heart shatters into a thousand tiny pieces, she begins to feel despair settle upon her like never before. For the first time, she begins to give up and question the worth of her life. Is Ron really worth the pain and suffering she's putting herself through?
Waking Up // Complications arise to Hermione's seemingly simple desire to leave Draco, as usual. Will her life ever be normal or happy again? One can only wonder...and hope.
Insanity // The more things change, the more they remain...insane. Hermione's already complicated life takes another sick and twisted turn just when she thinks she's finally free of the bonds that chained her to Malfoy (figuratively, of course).
Revelations // Sometimes, there are certain things that you should not assume, for which you should not place blame upon yourself, for in the end, they may turn out not to be true in the first place.
Snograndley Apartment Complex, Room 27B
Snograndley Apartment Complex, Room 27B // "Her ears roared, and the beating of her heart grew louder and louder while the sounds of the night – the autumn leaves skittering across driveways, the passing cars, the howling of the frigid wind against the nearby lamppost – dimmed and faded away until she could hear nothing but her heart pounding in her ears as her head grew hot and slick with sweat." - Hermione gets a little sidetracked on her way to Ron's...
Hear Me // Just when things seem about to resolve themselves, things start going wrong...terribly, horribly wrong. Can Hermione bear it or will she finally crack under the stress of it all? Will Ron be there to comfort her...or is he the sole cause of all her troubles?
No Comfort There Shall Be
No Comfort There Shall Be // It’s all my fault, thought Ron miserably to himself. Ron’s shoulders shook and an animal sound, rough and naked with despair, emerged raspy from his throat. Suddenly, arms enclosed around him. Ron looked up through reddened eyes to see Hermione, kneeling beside him. Then she rocked him against her chest and whispered, “Shhhh...it’s all going to be okay.”... “No, it’s not,” whispered back Ron. Tears still fell down his face, although now they were silent. “It’s not.” But he did not pull away.
Ensnared // Hermione emerges from St. Mungo's for a breath of fresh air and is ambushed by someone hiding behind the bushes in the shadow. Someone whom she wished never to have to see again. Draco. Draco Malfoy. Will Ron save her in time? Or will he just sleep on, unawares that she is in any danger? Read to find out!
A Caged Thing
A Caged Thing // Sometimes I get a feeling that I / Could take to the sky and fly way high / But then a shot and I'm down with a cry / Writhing and screaming as I feel myself die
Letters // Dear Mr. Ronald Weasley: Greetings to you! I hope that all is going well, and I send my deepest regards and well-wishes. It is my pleasure to invite you to your Hogwarts class’ fifteenth year reunion! We dearly hope that you will consider showing, whether it be to reunite with old friends or merely to see Hogwarts one more time. Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress
Murder // It was amazing, frightening, how someone could be so alive one day and be dead the next. One minute you could be at the height of life, animated, confident, successful, nonchalant. Your life could be going perfectly, absolutely flawless. And the next minute, you could be dead.
An Interlude // Draco is dead and Hermione is convicted - rightly so - of his murder. The Ministry is crawling around the manor in a matter of seconds and she is placed under house arrest until either proven innocent of guilty. Nothing is going according to plan. She killed Draco for freedom. But she is still trapped. How will she say goodbye to Ron if she can't even get out of her own home?
Facing Death // "To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure" - J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, spoken by Albus Dumbledore.
Saying Goodbye, Saying Hello
Saying Goodbye, Saying Hello // Love is not enough. It must be the foundation, the cornerstone – but not the complete structure. It is much too pliable, too yielding.
