Well I've heard there was a secret chord
David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya ?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

"Alice Longbottom! Now is not the time to ruin your matron of honour dress!" I was tired of Alice just goofing off and running around the dressing room and jumping off of things. She stopped and pouted at me. I shook my head.

"Lils, you never let me have any fun!" She whined. I rolled my eyes.

"Everyone knows that the matron of honour is supposed to be prettier than the bride. However, everyone looks at the bride because it's her day," I teased. She scoffed.

"Not with you in the room. Not when they see what I've done," she retorted. I blushed. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in," ALice replied, turning toward the door. Remus' disembodied head appeared through the door.

"It's time," was all he said. I smiled.

"Finally!" Alice picked up her flowers and handed me mine. We walked out of the room. Remus was going to give me away, so I linked my arm through his.

"Lily, you look radiant," he said.

Well your fatih was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

"Why, thank you, Rem-" I was interrupted by someone's shouting.

"Lily! Stop! You don't know what you're doing!" I turned around to see Snape in a black cloak approaching. Remus turned around, too. I glared at him.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed. At this point, Alice, Frank, Sirius, and Mary-Beth - Sirius was in a serious relationship with her - had all turned around. Snape stopped and looked at all of the people in the room.

"You can't marry that - that piece of scum!" He sputtered out.

"WHAT DID HE JUST SAY?!?!?" We all turned to see Sirius storming over toward Snape. "WHAT THE HELL DID HE JUST SAY ABOUT MY BEST FRIEND?!?!?" Sirius was only two steps away from Remus, who put out his arm to stop Sirius. Sirius stopped immediately.

"Get out now, Snape," I commanded. I knew that he would get hurt if he didn't leave now. He looked at me, apparently hurt, but then he glared at me.

"Well, I guess a Mudblood deserves a blood traitor," he said, backing out of the room. I turned around, stunned. He hadn't called me that since fifth year. The bad year. The worst year of my life. But I was going to forget that. I pushed it out of my mind.

Oh baby I have been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Remus turned around and put a comforting hand on my shoulder. I smiled. Everyone looked at me, stunned - I hadn't cried once.

"Let's just put it in the past," I said. They all looked at me, except for Remus, who nodded his head in agreement.

"She's right," he said. A tall, slender man peeked his head through the door.

"Are you ready yet?" He asked, clearly impatient.

"Yes, Mr. Manelle," I responded. He reentered the sanctuary. Everyone got in order. A march started playing as Mary-Beth and Sirius started to walk down the aisle. Alice and Frank went next.

"We're next," Remus said. My smile grew bigger. Remus and I were in plain view of the entire party. The familiar tune of "Here Comes the Bride" started up on the organ and every person sood up. Remus and I took steps to the beat of the music. I couldn't bear being away from James - Alice wouldn't even let him walk by our dressing room door when I was there. And - finally! - I reached him. His beautiful smile made the room even brighter. The priest told the people to sit down.

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do you
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

All throughout the ceremony, James and I made contact. The only time that he stopped smiling was after the ceremony, when we spotted Snape in the room again.

"I thought I told you to clear out!" I was mad, really mad.

"And I thought I told you that you couldn't marry him," he snapped back. James looked furious - either at the fact that he had been here before, or what he just said, I had no idea.

"Snape, if you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from them," Sirius snarled. Snape looked unfazed.

"Hey, Black," he said. "Your brother would say hello, but he was too busy to be here. Such a waste, anyways. He was a good kid."

"What are you talking about? What do you mean by 'was'?"

"You didn't know that your own brother was buried right behind this pathetic little church, his skin rotting away?" Sirius' face paled; Snape's smile widened. Then, Sirius went up to Snape and punched his face. Hard. Blood was running down Snape's clothes as he ran out of the room. And everything was ok again.

Well maybe there is a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry you that hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelu
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

two hours later

"So," James asked as we twirled around the dance floor. "What is it like being the newest Potter?" I smiled and leaned my head agaist his chest.

"No words can describe this magnificent feeling." He chuckled and kissed the top of my head.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you, too," I said, pulling my head up. I placed a gentle kiss on his lips. Our audience cheered. I was finally happy.
