Before Reading: THIS IS NOT A ONESHOT! Nor is it AU, it is a happy story in the end!

When I see your smile
Tears run down my face I can't replace

"Lets kick some Death Eater ass!" Fred yelled. Harry still had no idea were Ron and Hermione were, neither did the Weasley family. They ran out, all but Ginny.

She was staring at him, her chocolate eyes focused on him with a kind of fierce intensity. She smiled at him, her whole face lighting up. She looked split between anticipation and joy. This had been the first time since Bill and Fleur's wedding that they had saw each other. Harry couldn't help but take a step towards her, he promised he wouldn't get to close to her again, but she was just standing there, so perfect and lovable.

He felt a tear roll down his cheek. He reached out to touch her face, she leaned her face into his hand, closing the distance between them with a single step.

And now that I'm strong I have figured out
How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul
And I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one

Her face was so soft and smooth, like silk. She seemed to be memorizing every millimeter of his face. He already knew hers so well, he saw it every time he closed his eyes. However, his dreams about her the past several months were nothing compared to the real thing. Her floral perfume swirling around him making him want nothing more but hold her forever.

He felt alive, though he didn't even know he was dead, like months ago when he first wore Slytherin's locket, he didn't realize the impact it had on him until he took it off.

Heat flooded his face, for the first time in months, so much had changed for him, for her, but he knew irrevocably he would always feel this way for her. He opened his mouth to say something but she put her hand over his lips. Then she leaned closer and kissed him.

They kissed for several seconds, or several days perhaps, it didn't matter. Nothing in the world matter but her. Why was he even here? Why did he break up with her? Did he even break up with her? Or was everything that happened between the Quidditch final and now simply been an elaborate nightmare?

She pulled away, for a second, Harry didn't know why. He wanted to complain, he wasn't finished kissing her! Then he remembered he couldn't breath. He took a gasp of air, her sweet scent filling his lung. Breathing seemed like such a waste of time. Snogging would such a better way to spend the time.

He noticed as she gasped tears of her own moved swiftly down her beautiful pearly cheeks.

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

"Ginny," he said confused, Ginny didn't cry...ever, twice, maybe he had ever seen her cry. "What's the matter."

"I've been waiting for you to kiss me again, dreaming about it, wishing for it with every fiber of my being. But now I know that this means." she whispered, "It means you don't thing you're coming back."

Harry took a step back from her, their arms still interlocked but a good foot between their bodies. He stared at her. Her eyes, still full of tears stared back at him. Her face wasn't angry or worried, just very serious. Her eyes warned him that he couldn't lie to her.

"Ginny," He started, "Ginny, I will do whatever it takes to protect you. To protect everyone."

"Even if it means dying." she said, not asking a question, stating a fact.

Harry looked away, neither can live while the other survives, "If that's what it takes," He admitted. She pulled her arms out of his hold and turned her back on him. "Ginny," He said again gently pulling her back so that they were facing each other again. "I will never leave you."

"Don't give me that 'even if I die I'll be with you' shit!" she snapped at him, her tears falling more rapidly, still her voice didn't break. "You know damn well that's not true! I don't want your spirit with me! I want you with me!" Harry wrapped his around her neck, pulling her into him, and kissed her on the forehead.

"I'm sorry." He said, "But I'm going to do what ever it takes to bring Voldemort down."

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
Ginny hugged him around his waste and buried her face in his shoulder.

"It's okay," He whispered, "It's okay."

Seasons are changing
And waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us

Explosions of curses sounded in Harry's ear. The cup and diadem were destroyed. All that was left was the snake, then Harry could take on Voldemort himself.

He, Ron and Hermione were running through the castle, dodging crumbling stone as it crashed around them. They had to get to the Shrieking Shack, but their path was blocked no matter were they turned.

Hermione cursed random Death Eaters and put sheilds around fighting friends, Ron aimed his wand ahead, trying to blow away rubble from their path. Suddenly Harry heard a familiar scream.

Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

Ginny, fighting on the landing below Harry tripped and fell to the ground, her wand landing at least ten feet away. Harry without thinking jumped over the banister and landed by Ginny's side as a hooded Death Eater approached.

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

"Stupify!" He yelled as Ginny picked up her wand and joined him.

"Expelliarmus!" She called a second later, the Death Eater dodged them both and shot blue light back at them. Harry ducked as the gargoyle behind them blew to pieces. Ginny was ready the second it was safe, "Impendamenta!" She shouted.

"Putrificus Totalus!" Harry yelled at the same time, the combined effect of both spells sent the masked figure flying back into the stairs and hitting the banister with a loud *WHACK*

A second Harry and Ginny's eyes met again, before he ran off with Ron and Hermione.

Cuz you're my, you're my, my, my true love, my whole heart
Please don't throw that away

Harry had to die. There was no way around it, he had seen the plans for his death clearly in Snape's memory. He would have to die for this to end. And he would, just like he told Ginny, he would stop at nothing to defeat Voldemort. He was a marked man since he was born, his mother lent him seventeen years but in the end he would have to face Voldemort like a man. Neither could live, period.

Cuz I'm here for you
Please don't walk away and
Please tell me you'll stay, stay

As he walked through the school under the temporary safty of his Invisibility Cloak, he thought of her. I don't want you're spirit with me! I want you with me!

He never told her he loved her. Damn it, he should have told her when he had the chance! Now he never would.

He knew he could have easily found her if he wanted to. He could have told her goodbye, held her one last time, see the intensity of her beautiful brown eyes in his just for one more moment. But he knew he couldn't. If he stopped now, if he looked at Ginny again, he would waver. He wouldn't be able to go on, nor would she let him. She would try to talk him out of it, she would put herself in danger to save him, he couldn't have that.

Use me as you will
Pull my strings just for a thrill
And I know I'll be okay
Though my skies are turning gray

The grounds were still dark in the pre-dawn gloom. A few dark mounds still littered the ground, give Harry a sickening feeling in his stomach. He headed into the direction of the forest when a soft whimpering stopped him.

  "Please...please, Ginny..." someone cried, "I don't want...I don't want to fight...I wanna go home."

"Shhh..." Ginny murmured back. "It's alright, you don't have to fight. We just need to get you up to the castle."

  "Then can I go home?"

"Yes." Ginny promised, "Then everything will be okay."

Harry stared at her as she helped the girl to her wobbly feet.

It almost seemed as if she knew he was there, her eyes focused right on him, or at least he think they did, maybe he just imagined it.

Either way, her warm eyes seemed to give him the strength he needed to keep going. He was going to be alright, even when he was dead, Ginny would be alive and healthy. Everything would be okay as long as Ginny lived.

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Voldemort sat surrounded by his Death Eaters. His heart was pounding out of his chest, he took a deep breath, For Ginny, He thought as he pulled off his cloak and stepped into the light.

Author's note: Okay, first off, remember this is not a one-shot, there is a second half to it, I don't really have much to say for this chapter, the next part has the long AN
