Sorry that it took so long for this chapter to come up.  I was out of town than then was not feeling the greatest.  Hopefully the next chapter will not take as long to come out.  Enjoy.

James, Lily and Alexia came through the floo network. James and Lily took a seat on the couch that they had been sharing before they left. Alexia took a seat on the other couch next to Sirius.

“So what happened? Did you get lectured at all?” Sirius asked.

“Why would we get lectured?” Lily asked.

“Anytime that I had to report to Professor Dumbledore it meant lecture about how irresponsible I was, and how I was not working to my abilities.” Sirius said.

“Yes, but that is because you are always pulling pranks and never studying.” James pointed out.

“Anyways, Professor Dumbledore offered me a position similar to a prefect.” Lily said with a smile.

“And she will be in our house.” James said proudly.

“Cool you will be in the same house as Prongs, Mooney and myself.” Sirius said.

“So what do you two plan on doing with the rest of your day?” Alexia asked.

“Well, I was kind of hoping to go home and at lease get my belongings. I also need to talk to my friends and explain why I am not going to school with them this next year.” Lily said.

“That sounds like a plan to me.” James said. “Sirius, are you up to travelling across the pond?”

“Sounds like a good time to me? Are their going to be any good looking girls there?”

“There might, but I will encourage them to stay away from you. I like my friends talking to me.” Lily said with a smile.

The three teenagers first took the floo network over to the ministry, where the main network was set up for the floo. As they stepped out they noticed a long line of fireplaces set up for floo.

Lily led the two boys towards the end of the fireplaces, where there was an office set up. Inside there was a short man, wearing glasses at the tip of his nose. He looked to be in his eighties. He had a full head of white hair. He was a set of black robes that had silver trim.

“How many I help you three today?” The man asked.

“We need to head to the United States for the day. I am moving here and need to grab my belongings from my home.” Lily said.

“Ah, yes. I spent sometime in the United States in my younger years, when I was the British Liaison to the United States. Let me see if I can place your accent…I can tell you straight away that it is not southern, and not the eastern…I would go with the Midwestern.”

“Correct, Minnesota actually.” Lily said with a smile.

“Alright, here are three passes for you. You have until the end of the week to come home. These are just to help the official on the other side.” The man said. “Now you will notice that there is a fireplace that is specifically linked to the United States. It works similar to the ones that you are used to, with a few exceptions. First you will all travel together and it will take slightly longer because you are going much farther then usual floo travel. It will take you were you need to go over there, however if the location that you are heading to you doesn’t have a floo connection made you should just head to the ministry. You three enjoy your time over there and have a good day.”

All three of them walked into the fireplace which expanded to allow all of them in at once. Lily took a handful of purple floo powder, which was specific for international travel.

They came out of the other side of the network and was greeted by a man, who looked like he was about thirty years olds. He had sandy blonde hair about the same height as the Sirius and James, which was almost six foot.

“Welcome to the United States. How long are you planning on staying in the country?” The guy asked.

“Just for the day, we will be heading back to England before the end of the day.” Lily said. “By chance can we get a portkey to my sister’s house?”

“Sure, I am going to need you to write the town down on this piece of paper, you will transported to the drop off point of that city.” He handed her a pen and a piece of paper. Lily quickly scribbled down the address. “Alright fold it in half.”

The wizard took out his wand and he tapped the paper with the tip of his wand. “Okay boys you need to hold on also, the portkey will be leaving in 30 seconds.”

James and Sirius both grabbed on right before the portkey left.

They landed, flat on their back, in a park on the outskirts of town. James got up, dusted himself off and reached for his wife’s hand. He helped her to her feet. She shook her long red hair out, to get the lawn clippings out of her hair.

“Oh sure you help her up, but not me.” Sirius complained.

“What can I say, I am cuter than you are?” Lily said with a smile.

“There is no one cuter than me.” Sirius defended himself.

“Nope, I think that you lose this one Sirius.” Lily said. “Come on, let’s get this over with.”

Lily led the two boys down the street to where her sister’s house was located. Lily stopped in front a white, with green trim that was two stories high. There was a little yard with one tree in front. There was a sand box in the back that was poking out just a little bit.

“So this is where you lived?” James asked.

“This used to be my parent’s house, but when they died Petunia and Vernon took it over. As he likes to remind me, I am lucky that he still allows me to live here, even though the house was left to both Petunia and I.” Lily said. “I don’t know, this stopped feeling like home the minute he moved in here.”

“Well the good thing is you don’t have to come back here.” James said. “And if he is home, we will protect you. Right Sirius?”

“Right, we may like to prank, but no one messes with our friends.” Sirius said as he put his arm around her shoulder.

Lily walked into her house, more precisely her sister’s house. She and her sister hadn’t seen eye to eye about anything for a long time, ever since she started dating Vernon. They were close when they were children, even after Lily had gone away for school, and then it changed when Lily was in her fourth year. She had come home, Petunia had said that she was dating Vernon and that she was in love. It was the summer that she had pulled away from Lily.

Petunia was in the kitchen when the three of them came into the house. She was washing off the counter tops, while she was preparing dinner for the three people who were usually at supper. She was used to Lily coming and going whenever she pleased, and she didn’t mind as long as she stayed away from her whenever possible.

“Petunia, I just wanted to say goodbye.”

“You just got home and now you are going out again? What time will you be home?” Petunia asked as if she was her mother.

“I am moving away, so I won’t be back again.”

“What is going on Lily, and who are these people who you have brought home?” Petunia asked.

“Pet, this is Sirius Black and James Potter.” Lily introduced them. “Guys this is my sister Petunia Dursley.”

“So where are you moving to?” Petunia asked.

“London, and I will be attending school there in the fall for my last year of school.” Lily said. “I will no longer be your problem.”

“What you loved your trip to London so much you decided to stay?”

“Yeah, I am taking all of my stuff and leaving here forever so I won’t be in your way anymore.” Lily said with tears in her eyes.

“Lily what happened, you usually have a level head on your shoulder, you don’t normally just do something on a whim. It is not like you to move half way across the world because you had a good trip there.” Petunia asked as she put her towel down.

“Well you see last night Mackenzie took us to party with her cousin, and I had a little more to drink than I thought I did and one thing led to another and I ended the night with a wedding. You have met my husband James…”

“HUSBAND!” Petunia basically shouted at her younger sister.

“Yes, my husband. That is why I am transferring schools so I can be with him. You won’t have to worry about me anymore, I am no longer yours to watch over.”

“Lily you are too young to be married.” Petunia said. “You should have had more time to experience life, you should have it better than I did.”

“Pet, it is okay. He is a good guy I will be happy and I know that you worry about me in your own way. I will be fine, James will make sure of that.” Lily said as she gave her a hug. “You know if you ever need me I will be there for you. You still have that mirror I gave you right?”

“Yeah it is hidden so Vernon never finds it.” Petunia said. “You know I love you Lil, right? You know that don’t you?”

“Yes Pet, I know that you love me.” Lily reassured her sister. “Are you sure you don’t want me to get you out of here? I can protect you from him, he will never find you.”

“No, I made my bed now I have to lay in it.” Petunia said. “Don’t worry things will get better.”

“I hope so.” Lily said. “I better get to work so I am gone before Vernon gets home.”

“That would be for the best.” Petunia said. “Why don’t you and Sirius go upstairs so I can chat with James for a minute? I promise he will still be in one piece when we are done.”

Lily led Sirius up to her room so that she could pack up all of her stuff. When it was just James and Petunia in the kitchen. “James, I do love her, but I also love my husband. I didn’t find out what kind of cruel man he was until we were married. After that things got hard. When he found out that there was magic in the world he was angry. He hated Lily from the moment that he found out that Lily had magic.

“When Lily moved in with us I had to put a façade on to make things easier on me.” Petunia said. “I felt so bad.”

“You did what you have to.” James said. “Why are you telling me that?”

“Because I want you to protect her, she is the only family that I have left and I want to know that she isn’t making the same mistake that I did.” Petunia said.

“Lily will be well protected by me.” James said.

“Please don’t hold my behavior against me. I wish that I could be stronger and been there for Lily when she needed me.”

“Petunia I can tell that you love your sister very much and that is all that matters.” James said. “Petunia if there is anything that we would be able to do for you don’t hesitate. I know that you know about the wizarding world, and my family has quite a bit of influence in that world along with the muggle world. You are now part of my family as well, and we will be there for when you need us.”

“Thank you James.” Petunia said. “Don’t take it personal, but I get to be mad at you until you leave this house, just because you are taking away my little sister.”

“Alright, as long as when I do leave you no longer are mad at me.” James said with a smile. “I think I am going to go upstairs to make sure that Sirius is still alive and in one part.”

“You mean Lily?”

“Nope, Sirius has a habit of saying the wrong thing to Lily and has been threaten about losing critical parts of his anatomy.” James said with a smile.

“How can you be smiling about that?” Petunia asked. “Lily would actually do that.”

“I know, but I have never seen Sirius run and hide behind my mother because he was scared of someone.” James said. “The sight after the event was great.”

“But she threatened your best friend.” Petunia said.

“He deserved it, I have always wanted a woman who wasn’t willing to back down from a fight when it was needed. Besides when she threatened him he deserved it. Lily was in my room waiting for me to bring some clothes for her to wear so she was only in a towel and he was being inappropriate.” James said. “If I had been in the room at the time I would knocked his lights out, so he got lucky.”

James reached Lily’s bedroom when he heard laughter coming from a room. He walked in to see Lily laughing while Sirius was packing up her belongings. “What is so funny?”

“Sorry, Sirius was telling me some of the pranks that you and your friends have launched on unsuspecting students at Hogwarts. It sounds like some of the ones that my friends would do at school.” Lily said. “I warn you Potter, you better not decide to make me one of your pranks because I will get you back…”

“And what would you do to me?” He asked as he encircled his arms around her.

“A lot but most of all you wouldn’t get any.” Lily said in his ear. “I don’t like pranks pulled on me.”

“Don’t worry, you wouldn’t have even made the list. You have immunity for all pranks that are done by the marauders.” James said. “If they try something they will deal with me.”

“James girlfriends are not off limits when it comes to pranks…”

“Sirius, Lily is my wife, not my girlfriend.” James said. “Besides the reasons that girlfriends were not immune was because we didn’t ever girlfriends for more than a week. You and I were never much for relationships.”

“That is exactly what the wife wants to hear especially when they have been married for a day.” Lily said sarcasticly. “By the way, am I going to be the most hated person at school?”

“Yes.” “No.” Sirius and James said at the same time.

“Lily, it won’t be that you’re hated, you have taken the most wanted guy in school. They will not like you initially but once they get to know you they will love you.” Sirius said. “Besides you will at least have Remus, James and I. So when you start school you will have three friends.”

“The only ones that will hate you for being you, will be the Slytherins, but they hate all the students who are Gryffindor house. It is a feud that has been going on since the school was started.” James said. “Besides with Sirius and I at your side no one will try a thing with you.”

“Thanks guys. And Sirius I do want to apologize for my screaming at you earlier this morning.”

“Accepted.” Sirius said.

“But if you ever barge into the bedroom while I am in a towel again you will have the same threats.” Lily said with a smile.

“And I will be the one carrying it out.” James said. “This is my woman…”

“Your what?”

“My woman, and there is nothing you can do about it. If it makes you feel better I am your man.” James said as he captured her lips.

“We shrunk everything down so that it would fit into shoe box.” Sirius said. “So Lily when do we get to meet your friends?”

“I would say in about twenty minutes.” Lily pulled out a piece of parchment, she wrote down a few words and than banished the piece with a flick of her wand. “In fact many of them will be there before we are there.”

“What was that?”

“It is a way of communication that we figured out when we were in our second year. It allows you to communicate with multiple people at once. The message goes out to whoever is listed on the top of the piece of a parchment.” Lily said. “It was our way of communicating during the summer when we were separated from one another.”

“You can do magic in the summer?” Sirius asked.

“Of course, in fact we are encouraged to practice spells during the summer. The ministry over here thought that it would be a good idea to allow students to continue practicing so that there is less lost of the skills during the summer session. We still have to be careful to no be spotted by muggles when it comes to practicing.” Lily said.

“We should have gone to school over here, we could have perfected our pranking skills.” Sirius said.

Fifteen minutes later, the three walked into a restaurant that was about few blocks away from where Petunia and Vernon lived. They walked the entirety of the distance because the boys had no idea where they were heading and could have landed in a bad situation.

They told the waiter how many people where going to be showing up to join them. They were seated in the back of the restaurant and the waiter would bring the rest of the people to them. He was pretty used to seeing Lily’s friends as this was their hang out.

Lily was sitting next to James, and Sirius was on the other side of James. Lily was resting her head on James’s shoulder, and he had his arm wrapped around her waist. “Is everything okay?”

“Yeah I am just tired.” Lily said just as half of their group came walking into the restaurant. They were surprised to see anyone with Lily, because most of the time when they came here they had a rule of no boyfriends allowed. This was a place for girl talk, no boys.

“Hey girl. It looks like you had fun last night.” One of her friends said with a smile. She had sun-bleached blonde hair that had purple on the bottom layers of her hair. She was wearing a white tank top with a pair of blue jeans and pair of flip flops. “We are glad that you made it back to the States, you were having a lot of fun last night.”

“I had a lot of fun last night, Tiff.” Lily said. “But it didn’t end up like I thought it would.”

“Sirius what are you doing here?” Mackenzie said as she gave her favorite cousin a hug. She was similar to Sirius in appearance. She had dark brown hair that was shoulder length. She was wearing a concert jersey on, that was for the Rolling Stones paired with jeans. “I didn’t think that we would ever get you to come across the pond.”

“Well Lily and James brought me here to meet you all again.” Sirius said to his cousin.

“Mac, only you would pick on your cousin, when you have wanted him to come to visit you over here.” A girl with curly light brown hair said. She was wearing black tank top, with a pair of jeans that had holes in them.

“Tori, be nice to her. She is still dealing with a massive hangover. Her mother refused to allow her to drink any potion, thought it would teach her a lesson.” A girl with medium brown hair that had blonde streaks said. She was a dressed in a white long sleeve shirt and a pair of khaki cargo pants.

“James, Sirius these are my friends from Salem. Tiffany, is the one with a little bit of purple hair, she changes her hair on a daily basis depending on her mood.” Lily pointed her out to the boys. “Tori, who would probably rival you in being a prankster, you get on her bad side and you will be watching your back for weeks because of the things that she would do to you.” Lily pointed to the girl who was wearing a black tank top.

“Melanie, who is the bravest of our group, she was the winner when it came to a tournament that we had last year in which you prove your skill as a wizard. She was competing against five other schools from around the United States.” She pointed to the girl who was wearing cargo pants. “And you already know Mackenzie.”

“Wow, you have a variety of friends.” James said.

“Yeah, we like to think of ourselves as outsiders, or we used to be. When we first started at school, we were the ones that kind of stuck out because of our differences, and some how we ended up being the most popular girls in school.” Lily said. “It helps that we are some of the best quidditch players in the school.”

“Okay Lily, I have to ask, why did you bring James and Sirius here? This is usually our place away from the guys.” Melanie asked.

“Actually the guys are going to be here in a few minutes, and I will explain everything when they get here.” Lily said. “For right now why don’t we get drinks while we wait for the guys?”

The server came and got their drink order.

“So Lily when did you get back to the States? I called your sisters house around noon and she said that you were still out, she sounded a little worried.” Tiffany asked.

“I got back about two hours ago, it was a late night for me. I ended up crashing with James for the evening after you guys left.”

“Wow, so many beautiful ladies in one place, I must have died and gone to Heaven.” One guy said as he walked up to the group. He was followed by three other guys.

All of the guys were about the same height, which was about six foot. They were all wearing jeans with different shirts. The man who had been talking had short, light brown hair. He was a wearing a black t-shirt with Pink Floyd on the front of it. Another had sandy blonde hair, he was in a Salem Academy Football jersey. The man next to him, he had black hair, he was sporting a blue button down shirt that had a white shirt underneath. The sleeved had been rolled up to his elbows. The last man had dark brown hair, he was dressed in a black polo shirt.

“You could never get into Heaven, Nathan.” Lily said was a smile on her face. “James, Sirius I want to introduce to the rest of the guys. The blonde is Nathan; the guy next to him is his brother Lucas, than there is Alex and Tony. Guys, this is James Potter and his friend Sirius Black. Sirius is the cousin of Mackenzie.”

“Wait a minute James Potter, as in the last of the Potter line, the most well known Pure-Blood family? That Potter?” Tiffany asked.

“That would be me.” James said with a smile.

“Wait a second how do you guys know about the Potter family?” Sirius asked.

“They are well known in this part of the world. There many be an ocean between us, but we still learn about the wizarding families that are back in England, especially the extremely influential families.” Melanie said.

“So James, will you marry me.” Tori asked.

“Sorry but I am already married. If you would have asked a few days ago I might have taken you up on that offer.” James said with his usually smile, that made girls swoon.

“Wow at what age do people get married over in England? Over here we usually wait a few years after getting down with school.” Mackenzie asked.

“That is the same over in England, but sometimes we do get married early. We only have to be seventeen to get married, by law.” James said.

“So, Lils why did you call us all here?” Lucas asked. “Not that I am complaining, anytime that I get to see you I am happy about it, you just usually don’t invite us to this place.”

“Well I wanted to say good bye to all of you before we head back to England.” Lily said. “I am transferring schools, I will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in England.” Lily said.

“But why you were going to be Quidditch captain at school along with Head Girl of the entire school…oh my.” Tori had her hand in front of her mouth.

“What?” The rest of the group asked.

“When James said he was married, I didn’t think he meant to you.” Tori revealed the secret to the rest of the group. “I hit on my best friend’s husband.”

“How did you figure that out, Lily didn’t tell you?” Sirius asked.

“It would be the only thing that would have Lily leaving school.” Tori said.

“Lily how could you be so stupid, with as wasted as you were last night we figured that you maybe hook up with someone, but how stupid could you be to get married while you were drunk!” Tony yelled at her. “You are smarter than that, even when you are drunk!”

Lily had tears welling up in her eyes. She never expected them to yell at her, be disappointed, or nonchalant about it, but not angry.

“Don’t yell at her.” James said through his tight jaw. “And don’t you dare call her stupid again.”

“You don’t even know her…” Tony said.

“I may not know her as well as you do, but I can tell that you are upsetting her. You have no right to pass judgment on her. She is a grown woman who can make her own decisions in life. She came down here to tell you in person because she didn’t want to leave without you hearing from her what happened, and that took a lot of strength.” James said. “She is my wife and I won’t sit by while you insult her.”

“James it is okay.” Lily said softly as her voice cracked.

“No it’s not, he has no right to talk to you like that, I don’t care if he is a friend of yours.” James said.

“What kind of reaction did you expect us to have about hearing the news that you ruined your life? She is married to someone she doesn’t know, leaving everything that she knows because you are telling her what to do.” Alex asked.

“She hasn’t ruined her life, it just doesn’t include Tony like he had hoped it would.” Mackenzie said. “Just because Tony fancies himself in love with Lily does not give him grounds to yell at her about the choices that she has made in life. I for one am happy for Lily. She is married to someone who will take care of her, but than again I have met James on a few occasions. Since Sirius basically has lived with James since they started school, I have spent a few weeks every summer with him. He is a good guy, no matter how much trouble he gets in for his pranks.”

“Thanks Mackenzie, it means a lot to me that you are okay with this.” Lily said as she looked over to her friend who was smiling at her.

“Hey I am happy to see you truly happy again, it has been a while since your smile had been sincere.” Mackenzie said as she took her best friends hand from across the table.

“I am happy for the both of you.” Tori said.

“James as long as you make her happy I will get along with you. If you hurt her I will hunt you down. She is like a little sister to me.” Nathan said.

“Same here.” Lucas said.

“You don’t have to worry about me, after her threats to Sirius this morning I am do everything in my power to never anger her.” James said with a smile.

“He deserved the threat.” Lily defended herself.

“Sirius what did you do to Lily this morning?” Mackenzie asked her cousin as she poked him in the middle of his chest.

“I went into James’s room while she was in a towel, she had just gotten out of the shower. I was picking on her, and refused to leave the room until I got some answers from her. She threatened me with bodily harm.” Sirius said.

“What kind of bodily harm?” Nathan asked.

“I threatened that if he didn’t leave the room he would never reproduce due to the loss of a certain body part.” Lily said with a smile.

“Lily, you never make that kind of threat.” Lucas said.

“You also never call me last night’s conquest.” Lily said.

“Good point.” Nathan said.

For a half hour Lily got to say her good byes, she was going to miss her friends. They were the ones that always that stood by her when the rest of the people in her life let her down. James got to hear stories about Lily’s day in school and got to know more about her.

“Lily, we really do need to get going. Remember we have a few time zones that we need to deal with. Besides we still need to introduce you to my father and then move your stuff into the bedroom.” James said.

“Alright we better be leaving. It was good to see you guys. Feel free to write to me.” Lily said.

“We will, you will be missed at school, but I hope you two all the happiness in the world.” Mackenzie said as she gave all three of them a hug. “Now you better get going before you’re here another half hour saying good-byes.

FYI:  It really does take about a half for someone to actually leave when you live in the midwest -- I guess we hate to see people leave.
