CHAPTER FOURA/N: All words in italics are personal thoughts.  I hope you enjoy my attempt at a bit of romance and fluff between H/G. I really enjoyed writing it. And, please leave a review! I'd like to know if I should continue with more chapters. So, without further ado, here is Chapter Four...

Ginny’s crying subsided after a while, but her and Harry stayed in their embrace, neither one wanting to let go of the other. Finally Harry spoke in a soft voice, “So…”

“So…” echoed Ginny into his chest.

“What now?” Harry didn’t want to move, but felt that they should decide when they would head back to the Burrow.  Plus, he was starting to get hungry and very thirsty, too.  Funny how I couldn’t bring myself to eat much all week and now I am actually starving.

“Well, I was thinking…Would it be alright if we didn’t go back to the Burrow until tomorrow morning?  I kind of thought it would be nice if we had some time to ourselves, you know, before I had to share you with Ron and Hermione and my mum and everyone else…” she trailed off with a slightly nervous look on her face, unsure if Harry would be OK with this idea.  They had, after all, just gotten back together.  Maybe she was rushing things. But, she really did want to stay here with him tonight.  It had been so long since they had been able to cuddle and talk and just be themselves around each other.  She longed for that. And, she knew they would not get much time for it at home, especially under the circumstances of Fred just being buried. Family and friends were popping in and out of the Burrow all day, trying to lighten the Weasley’s burdens as much as possible. It was appreciated but could get a bit stifling, sometimes.

“OK, let me get this straight. You want to know if it’s alright with me, if the two of us stay here tonight - together - alone?  And, you think I would have a problem with this because….? Um, why?” asked Harry, giving Ginny an incredulous look. He would like nothing more than to have Ginny all to himself for a while. This was what he had been dreaming about all those nights they were apart.

Ginny started to giggle. She hadn’t done that in a long time. “I’m guessing that means you are fine with my plan?”

“How could you tell?” replied Harry with a grin.

“Well, I told Ron and Hermione I would send them word about how things went with you. So, shall we go and floo them about our plans real quick?” asked Ginny.

“Oh, yeah, I guess it’s time I reconnected the house to the network, huh?

“Yes, I think it’s definitely time.”

“Well, let’s get on with it then. We can get something to eat while we’re down there.  I am suddenly very hungry,” said Harry, as he took Ginny’s hand in his and started down the stairs to the kitchen.

Ginny couldn’t help but smile as Harry held her hand.  It was the simple things such as this that she had missed the most. She promised herself she was not going to take these little things for granted, anymore.

After Ginny explained things to her mum and Ron and Hermione, and Harry said a quick hello, they sat down to a light supper that Kreacher prepared for them. As they were eating, it suddenly occurred to Harry that Mrs. Weasley was totally OK with Ginny spending the night alone with him at Graummald Place. He thought she would be at least a little upset by the whole idea. “Um, Gin? How is it that your mum didn’t go mental when you told her of our plans, just now?”

“Oh. Well, she knows how hard it’s been on me with you three leaving me behind, even though she would never have let me go, anyway.  And, she understands we need some alone time right now. And, besides, she trusts us.  Is there a reason why she shouldn’t?” asked Ginny with a mischievous little grin.

“Why Miss Weasley, what kind of gentleman would I be if I tried to jeopardize the trust your mum has in us?” Harry asked with a mock innocent expression on his face.

“The type who missed his ex-girlfriend so much this past year, that he couldn’t keep his hands off her another minute,” replied Ginny looking Harry straight in the eyes, all traces of humor vanished from her face.

Harry thought the room became very warm all of a sudden. He was having a difficult time remembering what they were just talking about.  Get a grip on yourself, Potter. It’s not like this is our first date or anything. He regained control of his thoughts, leaned over the table and whispered, “You know me so well, Miss Weasley. And I think a more accurate title for you is ex/current/final girlfriend. That about sums you up.”  Then he gently brushed his lips against hers, sending shivers down both their spines. “Um, how about we retire back to the bedroom for the remainder of the evening?” he asked with his heart beating rapidly, now.

“I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do tonight.”

So, they made their way up to the bedroom and sat on the sofa in front of the fire. Harry held Ginny in his arms while she rested her head on his chest. She took a nice deep breath and exhaled loudly. “Now, this is more like it,” she said.

“It’s perfect,” said Harry as he stroked her hair lightly and breathed in her beautiful scent.  He still couldn’t believe this was really happening. He had his Ginny back. It was as if the past week was just a horrible nightmare and he had finally woken up. He knew there were still the funerals to deal with tomorrow and other deaths to mourn, but for tonight, he was content just being here with Ginny; not thinking about the real world.

“You know Gin, there are so many things I want to tell you about; all the things we had to do while we were away. And, I also need to know everything you went through this past year at school and at the Burrow. But, maybe we could start our stories tomorrow. Maybe just for tonight, we could not worry about the past or the future and just live for right now.”

“Just for tonight…” repeated Ginny. And I can think of no better way to live for the moment than by doing this.” She lifted her head, placed her hand on Harry’s cheek and kissed him on the lips. They kissed gently at first, but slowly the kisses deepened as their passion for one another started to build.

Ginny couldn’t believe how much she had missed his kisses. Just to touch him and be touched by him, it was all she longed for. Every touch between them sent sparks through out her body. It was like she was on fire. She couldn’t help herself. She never wanted to break their connection. She was craving this physical contact with Harry.  She needed him.

When the kisses between them became more intense, Harry was having a hard time keeping coherent thoughts.  All he could think about was how good Ginny felt in his arms. How could he have lived this long without feeling her touch? It was like depriving himself of food or water. He needed her to keep himself alive and sane.

Soon their hands were exploring every inch of skin they could find. Harry was wearing too much clothing for Ginny’s liking.  So, she silently slipped his t-shirt over his head and threw it to the floor, then proceeded to pull her own tank tops off. Much better she thought as she ran her hands over Harry’s chest. He had lost a lot of weight since they last saw each other, but she would see to it that he ate properly from now on. She was not going to let him slide back into that deep state of depression she found him in just hours ago. They would have to help each other out with that, as they both had suffered so much. But, already the healing had begun. Yes, this was definitely a step in the right direction. After a while Ginny began to kiss Harry along his neck and chest while running her fingers up and down his back.

For his part, Harry was speechless. He couldn’t believe he was sitting there with Ginny, both of them shirtless. She was breath-taking. He looked her over hungrily, his eyes scanning every inch of her beautiful body as he ran his hands up and down her arms and torso. He loved how smooth and soft her skin felt. This can’t be happening was all he could think. This is definitely too good to be true. I’m still not sure I deserve her, after all that I put her through. But, I’m going take time everyday to make it up to her. She will never go a day without knowing how I feel for her.  Then Ginny was kissing him along his neck and across his chest and he couldn’t think anymore. He was in heaven.

But, if Harry thought that was pleasing what Ginny did next sent him to another level of pleasure. All of a sudden she scooted her hips over Harry so she was straddling him on the sofa. Harry could feel himself getting more aroused by the second.  Apparently she felt it, too. She was smiling as she moved her hips over his, very seductively. She seemed to like the effect she was having on. He was basically helpless under her spell, not that he was complaining.

They kept on kissing in this position for a long time, with their hands roaming over each other’s bodies, exploring new places.  Finally, Harry didn’t think he could take anymore and had to say something. “Ginny…” he whispered in a thick voice. “We…we need to….stop soon…” he managed to get out.

“Why?” Ginny asked, not stopping her kisses while she spoke. “We don’t have anything to worry about until the morning”.

“I—I know…but” he was trying so desperately to get control of the situation. But, it wasn’t working. “It’s just that---if we don’t stop now well oh that feels soooo good I might not ---not be able to ---how am I supposed to think straight with her doing that? control myself much longer. And, I mmmmmmm don’t want to—to…dosomethingbothofusarenotreadyfor,” he rushed the last bit out before he lost his resolve.

There he said it.  Now, she would come to her senses and they would reluctantly stop and he could get himself a cold shower and come back down to reality. Only, that’s not what happened.

“Harry? Do you love me?” she breathed into his ear.

“With all my heart,” he answered without hesitation.

“I love you, too. And, I am well aware of what we’re doing and I am very ready for it. Aren’t you?”

He stopped her then and pulled her face up with his hand so he could look into her eyes. “Gin, are you sure? I mean we don’t have to rush things. We just got back together, maybe we should wait.”

“Harry, I’m very sure.” She took hold of his hands and continued. “Do you know the one thing that bothered me the most about you leaving me last summer? I knew very well I might never see you again. And, I never had the guts to tell you how much I loved you; or to show you. If Ron hadn’t come barging in my room on your birthday, well, maybe I would have mustered up the courage, then. But, the moment passed and then you were gone before I could find the next perfect moment. You were out there in danger somewhere and you didn’t know how I really felt about you. That really ate me up inside. I promised myself that if we both made it through this war alive I would not wait for the next “perfect moment” to arrive. I would make whenever I saw you next the perfect moment. Well, we both know what happened when we met up again. It didn’t go exactly like I planned. But, now that I’ve come to my senses and we’re together again, well, I’m not letting another moment pass us by.”

“We’ve been through so much in our young lives, Harry; especially you. We’ve had to grow up much faster than most kids. And, we’ve had our share of losses because of this bloody war. But, if there’s one thing I have learned from it all, it’s that I don’t want to leave things unsaid or undone; especially with the ones I love. Fred’s death made me realize that any of us could die at any moment. I don’t want to die with any regrets. I want to make sure I make the most of my life, while I can. So, I have no doubt in my mind that I am ready for this next step in our relationship."

Harry looked deeply into Ginny’s eyes. He saw longing and need and love for him, in them. He imagined he had the same look in his own eyes and was hoping he was conveying those feelings to her, as well. He decided she was right. They loved each other. There was no sense in waiting another day or hour. He picked her up in his arms and carried her over to the four-poster. He placed her gently down on the bed and slid in beside her, never taking his eyes off hers.

They spent the next hour wrapped in each others arms; touching, caressing and kissing one another, occasionally whispering words of love to one another or simply moaning in pleasure. Neither one seemed to be able to get enough of the other. Soon all there clothes lay on the floor. There was nothing left between them, now. Neither of them could quite believe what was happening. It was like so many of the dreams they each had many of the nights they were apart. Only this was infinitely better.

Towards the end, no words were exchanged, yet each knew exactly how the other felt. It was like they opened up a whole new connection between themselves. And, when the moment came and their bodies were joined as one, the magical energy they shared and that flowed between them left them both awe-struck and breathless.

Afterwards, they lay curled up on the bed, with Ginny’s back snuggled against Harry. Harry had his arms around her and was resting his chin on her head. It was at that moment that he understood what love truly was. This is what life is really all about; love. It's so amazingly simple, yet perfect. It turns out that Dumbledore was right all along…These were Harry’s thoughts as he drifted off into a dreamless sleep with his arms around the woman he would love for the rest of his life.

Ginny was thinking about how wonderful she felt, at this moment. But, she also had a bit of an odd thought floating around in her mind. This day would forever be remembered as the day they put her dear brother to rest. Yet, she would also remember it as one of the happiest days of her life.  I honestly feel whole again. Being with him makes me feel like myself again. This is where I belong.  These were Ginny’s thoughts as she peacefully dozed off to sleep in the arms of the man she loved, always.
