Cynthia Malfoy comes to Hogwarts
Cynthia awoke to another day at Hogwarts in the girl’s dormitory. She stretched and walked to the bathrooms. After soaking in the hot water of the shower, she dressed in her Hogwarts uniform and walked out of the Gryffindor common room.

That’s right, a Malfoy was a Gryffindor. The first, actually. Cynthia’s past was as gloomy and dark in its early years as the Black lake at school. Cynthia had been abused as a small child, and therefore hadn’t been able to speak since. Her brother, Draco, had preformed a spell on her. But it was more like a curse. It ended up going horribly wrong, and the after effects had resulted in Cynthia losing her ability to speak forever.

But then Hermione Granger had adopted her, and had taken her away from the Malfoy family forever. They had lived at Hogwarts and Ron Weasley’s house for most of their life together, since Hermione’s parents had kicked her out of the house.

Cynthia walked down to the Great Hall, where her friends Megan, Lindsay, and Elizabeth were waiting for her at the Gryffindor table. Cynthia waved and smiled.

“Hi Cynthia,” Lindsay greeted her friend warmly. “What’s up with you this morning?”

‘Nothing really,’ Cynthia said. Well, really she wrote it down on paper, but writing is her voice and has been since she was three. ‘What about you guys?’

“Oh, we’re getting ready for our Arithmancy exam. Don’t you have a Quidditch match today?” Elizabeth questioned.

‘Oh yeah, I’d better go and get changed in a moment. Gryffindor against Slytherin, and I hear the seeker’s pretty tough….’

Megan patted Cynthia’s elbow. “Scorpius isn’t all that tough. You can take him.”

Cynthia gulped. Scorpius Malfoy…her own nephew, whom probably didn’t even know she existed. In fact, Scorpius hadn’t even known she was his aunt, and he was a first year in Slytherin’s house.

‘He’s my nephew…He doesn’t even know I’m his aunt, and we’re only two years apart. Draco had him right after he graduated from Hogwarts, literally right after.’

Lindsay nodded. “But that might be to your advantage, if he doesn’t even know you. You won’t get hurt that way.”

Cynthia nodded and remained silent via transcript, and then she made her way down to the changing room.

Cynthia dressed in her red and gold Seeker’s robes. She was bending over her boots, adjusting them, when a figure loomed over her.
“Hey, Cynthia,” Joey Bell said. He was Katie Bell’s (a Chaser from Hermione’s Hogwarts years) son. She had married Seamus Finnegan, but she had kept her surname. Joey was a very popular, let alone plain downright cute, Gryffindor Chaser. Cynthia had liked him since she was a first year.

‘Hi Joey,’ Cynthia smiled at him. ‘Nervous about the match?’

Joey smiled back. “A little, but it’s normal. What about you, though? Scorpius is your nephew, after all…”

‘Well…okay that freaks me out a bit. I mean, he could try and attack me when he figures out I’m his aunt!’

Joey kneeled down and put a hand on her knee. “I promise, we’ll protect you if we feel there’s a threat.” He ruffled his blonde-with-brown-highlights hair.

‘Thanks, Joey.’ Cynthia mustered up her best, flashing smile. And that wasn’t too hard, seeing as Cynthia was one of the nicest girls you could meet at Hogwarts.

“I always liked that dazzling smile.” Joey said, and then he looked up. “Oh, it’s time for the match. See you in a minute, Cynthia.”

She waved. Then, she stood up, her nerves boiling like water in a hot pot. She grabbed her Firebolt and walked outside to the field with the team. They walked until they were in the center of the field, the Slytherin team meeting them on the other side.

“Okay teams,” Madam Hooch encouraged them. “You all know the rules, no prohibited behavior and such. If any of you are caught in doing these actions, getting banned from playing ever again is a probable result. Now, captains shake hands.”

Marie Wood, Oliver’s daughter, shook hands with Fredrick Flint, Marcus Flint’s son. It was a surprise that neither tried to crush the other’s hand.

“Okay, kick off on three! Mount your brooms and get ready!” The players did just that, and on the whistle, they sprung into the air.

The cool winter air brushed Cynthia’s face as she lifted into the air and zoomed around on her broom.

“And it’s another exciting Quidditch match at Hogwarts,” Victoire Weasley said, as she was commentator. “And once again, our amazing Gryffindor Seeker Cynthia Malfoy is on the hunt! But is she strong enough to triumph over Scorpius…umm…Scorpius Malfoy?”

And at that moment, Scorpius looked over at Cynthia. He looked a lot like Draco in some ways, but he didn’t have those piercing green eyes. He had soft green eyes, like herself.
He sped over to her, his fist in the air. “Stupid impersonator! How dare you pretend to be a noble Malfoy? How dare you pretend to be a pureblood?”

Cynthia’s eyes widened in shock as Scorpius’ fist met her face. She tried to fly away on her broomstick; it wasn’t time for a family reunion. The crowd screamed, even the Slytherin fans were terrified for Cynthia.

But no matter Cynthia’s attempts to shake off her nephew, Scorpius pursued her. “Come back here, you little liar!” Cynthia waved her arms frantically, trying to motion to him that she wasn’t lying, but he wouldn’t listen. Or else he didn’t get it.

“Scorpius Malfoy, stop this at once!” Madam Hooch bellowed. But it was no use, Scorpius, with a loud battle cry, stole a Quaffle and hurled it at Cynthia. It hit her right in the gut, but she regained balance and miraculously kept flying.

She took out her wand, feeling there was no other way to communicate, and began to write words with what looked like the color of deep red roses. Whilst doing this, Scorpius stopped in mid air, full of confusion.

When Cynthia was done writing, the words said, ‘I am no impersonator! I am your aunt, Scorpius. Cynthia Narcissa Malfoy! Your father is Draco Lucius Malfoy!’

Scorpius flew nearer to her, but this time he was calm. “But…why didn’t Father tell me about you?”

Cynthia wrote more words. ‘I was abused as a child by your father…He tried a spell on me that resulted in my not being able to speak.’

“Oh…that’s horrible. I-“ He was about to say something else, but Madam Hooch cut him off.

“Scorpius Malfoy, you are in a heap load of trouble!” She screeched. “We’re stopping the match, everybody!” She called to the team. Everybody was either half disappointed or half furious.

Joey came racing over to Cynthia. “Let’s get you to the hospital wing.” He said in a concerned voice. Cynthia nodded and landed, then let Joey help her to Madam Pomfrey.

“Who’s the idiot that did this?” Madam Pomfrey asked, after discovering a deep, bleeding bruise on Cynthia’s left stomach.

‘Scorpius Malfoy…he thought I was an impersonator; he didn’t know I’m his aunt.’

Madam Pomfrey nodded, then, “Well, at least he didn’t do any more damage to you, and Madam Hooch was right to end the match.” Cynthia halfheartedly agreed to this.

“Well, you’ll have to at least spend the night.” Madam Pomfrey reckoned. “Oh, it isn’t so bad,” she said after noticing Cynthia’s shocked face. “We’ll just need for you to take some antibiotics for it; you’ll be patched up good as new by tomorrow.”

‘Oh, that’s good. It doesn’t hurt too much.’

Joey stayed with her until Madam Pomfrey kicked him out, which was around lunch time; and the funny thing was the match was at eight in the morning. Since Cynthia was used to not talking to anyone or anything period, she decided to spend some time writing a few letters to Hermione and her family.

Dear Hermione, Ron, and Rosie,
I had a Quidditch accident today, but I’m fine. Scorpius Malfoy just found out I’m his aunt…but before he found THAT out, he attacked me and threw a Quaffle at my left side. I’m okay, like I said, it’s not too serious. Anyways, say hi to baby Hugo for me!
Love,
Cynthia

Then, Cynthia went to bed with thoughts of Joey dancing around in her head.

A/N: Sorry for the really crappy end sentence, but this chapter is getting kinda long….Anyways, please R and R (read and review!)
