After hearing no movement in the house, Emma went back.

She felt her breath catch in her throat as she walked over the broken glass. "Ha - Harry?"

Her ragged breath ceased when she saw his crumpled body laying on the floor. "Harry!" She screamed and fell to the floor next to him. "I shouldn't have left you." Pressing her ear to his chest she listened for a heartbeat, anything to show he was okay. "I'm so sorry." She whispered and lifted her head to look at his face.

Tears streamed down her face as she whispered his name again. "Harry." Her eyes then rested on the large gash in his mid. She pressed her shaking hands gently to it. "Please."

Without a hope that things would be better, Emma choked out a sob when his chest rose and fell, steady but weakly. She rolled on her knees and watched intently as he opened his eyes.

She smiled and repeated the words, "It's going to be okay. I'm here now."

He found comfort in her them and without a word, nodded and closed his eyes to rest.

"I won't leave you." Emma whispered.

The sound of sirens filled the air.
The paramedics had come.

Emma sighed in relief and stayed by his side on the way to the ambulance.

Harry opened his eyes and flinched at the pain. The moment he saw Emma by his side, he smiled through his agony.

"You'll be okay, these people will help you."

"Please. . ." He struggled to say.

"What is it?" She furrowed her brows and placed her hand on his.

He felt the warmth of her touch. "S-stay with m-me."

"Of course. I won't leave you, alright?"

A parametric took her arm and held Emma back. "Miss if you aren't family, you can't come."

"But, he wants me with him. I'm all he's got." Her voice started to shake. "Please."

"Fine. Stay out of the way."

She sat next to him and took his hand, her eyes watching the people fuss over him. "Promised I wouldn't leave you."

Emma woke to the bright sunlight shining on her face. She stood to her feet and paced the floor. A small creak of the mattress caught her attention. She looked in the direction and smiled. He woke up.

Harry smiled back and greeted, "Hi."

Nervously wringing her hands, she took a step forward. "I tried to reach your mother, but she wasn't home, so I . . ." Emma sat on the chair next to him and tried to keep her eyes from his.

"Emma," He voiced and tried to continue before he was interrupted by the opening of the door.

"Good God." Mrs. Darling rushed into the room and stopped at the end of his bed. "Harry." Her beady black eyes traveled to Emma, noticing she didn't have a scratch on her and sighed. "Job well done."

Emma glanced from one to the other, confusion written all over her pretty face. "Job well done?" She repeated. "Ms. Baines, I'm not sure what's going on."

Jennifer cleared her throat and asked him, "Should you tell her, Harry, or do you want me to?"
