"Lily, what the hell are we going to do?" Niki asked in a panicked voice.

"I don't know I can barely think right now," Lily said.

"I've been so preoccupied planning for the baby, I totally forgot about these damn stupid N.E.W.T.'s" Shay said and threw her quill on the table in frustration.

It was Shay, Lily, Niki, Remus, and Peter in a study circle in the common room. They only had a week before N.E.W.T.'s and every 7th year except Sirius and James seemed to be worried.

"Honestly, how can they be so calm about this? They're not going to become aurors if they don't get enough N.E.W.T.'s," Niki said.

"They're working on that damn prank," Remus said from behind his book.

"It's all they've been talking about," Peter said.

"Well, you two seem excited about it," Shay said.

"We are but there are other things to worry about first, like not becoming a totally failure at life," Remus said and Peter nodded.

"Lily, we're in love with idiots, aren't we?" Shay said with a sigh.

"Yea, but at least they're our idiots. Thank Merlin their nice to look at," Lily said with a smile.

"Very true. I don't know about you guys, but I'm starving. Who wants to take a trip down to the kitchens?" Shay asked and got up.

Everyone followed her. They were all tired of studying. After they all exited the common room, they were stopped when they ran into some sort of invisible wall.

"What the hell…"

The five of them were suddenly covered head toe with glitter. It was the shiniest glitter they had ever seen. They looked like a bunch of disco balls.

"This is war," they all said in unison.

"The look on their faces was priceless," they heard Sirius say as he and James entered the common room.

Shay, Lily, Niki, Remus, and Peter were back in their circle, acting as normal as possible. Besides the glitter they still hadn't scourgified out.

"What in the bloody hell happened to you guys?" James asked with a smirk.

"Oh this. Don't you guys know that glitter makes people smarter?" Lily asked.

"Uh…ok. Good luck with that. We're off to bed. Busy day tomorrow," Sirius said and he and James disappeared quickly.

"Let's get into place," Remus said and they all scattered.

"This is bloody brilliant. I think we've gotten every student in Hogwarts today," James said with a laugh.

"I know. And we still have tomorrow. Everybody is so preoccupied with the N.E.W.T.'s that their easier targets than before," Sirius said and then stripped down to his boxers.
James followed in suit.

"All this pranking is wearing me out," Sirius said with a stretch.

"Too true. Lights off?" James asked.

"Lights off," Sirius said and made the room dark.

There was silence for a couple seconds before James spoke up.

"Hey Padfoot. Do you feel weird?"

"Yea. I feel like there's something crawling on me."

"Me too. What the hell?" James said and turned the lights back on.

"HOLY SHIT!" James yelled and jumped out of bed.

Sirius did the same thing seconds after. They had discovered that hundreds of spiders were crawling around in their beds.

Both made a dash for the door trying to get the spiders off them. They opened the door and didn't even notice the flash that came from the corner. But they did notice that when they got down to the common room that every Gryffindor was down there, watching with amusement.

"Did anyone ever tell you guys that you scream like girls?" Niki asked with a laugh.

Niki, Lily, and Peter all took pictures of the boys making a mad dash, still freaking out about the spiders.

They finally made it out of the common room and immediately had a flash go off in their face.

"Oh, this is priceless," Shay said in between breathes and then disappeared into the common room.

James and Sirius were still hollering when McGonagall showed up.

"What is going on here?" she asked in a stern tone.

"Spiders…all over," Sirius said out of breath.

"Honestly Professor, it's not our fault. We've been set up," James pleaded.

"You both are out past curfew and have inappropriate dress. I will see you both tomorrow night in detention. I suggest you get some sleep. You'll be doing a lot of cleaning," McGonagall said and turned on her heel.

"Stupid spiders," Sirius muttered.

"The muggle way," McGonagall announced before she turned the corner.

"Well, it was a good day," James said before he and Sirius reentered the common room.

"You guys got us pretty good. We didn't even play the prank and we got the detention," Sirius said.

"What did you guys expect? Someone had to get you back," Lily said.

"Yea, well, I didn't expect two of our own to turn on us," James said to Remus and Peter.

"I don't think that's the only thing we didn't expect," Sirius said and his face turned pale.

In the Great Hall, the pictures that were taken of Sirius and James the night before, were plastered on the walls, about 100 times bigger than their normal size.

"Honestly, does everyone have to know?" James asked his cheeks red from blushing.

"Oh yea. We're still sparkling from yesterday," Shay said.

Sirius and James looked at each other.

"Ready to go face the music?" James asked.

"Do we have a choice?" Sirius asked.

"No, not really."

James and Sirius entered the hall with their heads held high and the others followed them with laughter.

"Hey Potter, watch out! The spiders are coming," a 6th year Hufflepuff yelled.

James just smiled and nodded.

"Sirius, we never knew you swung that way!" Gideon Prewett yelled to him.

He looked back at Shay.

"I told you those damn Chudley Cannon boxers made you look gay," Shay said with a laugh.

Sirius gave her a sarcastic laugh and smile before sitting down. As soon as they all sat down, McGonagall was standing over them.

"Potter, Black, I don't know why you think this is funny. This means another detention tomorrow. This castle will be as clean as a whistle before I get done with you two," McGonagall said and everyone except Sirius and James were trying to hide a smile.

"But Professor, we didn't do this. Why would we put these pictures of ourselves up like that?" Sirius stated.

"I don't know why you do a lot of things Mr. Black, but you two are not going to get out of detention. So I suggest you drop it."

Shay couldn't hold her laughter anymore.

"Miss Calhoun, do you have something to say?"

"No Professor. I'm just happy that they are finally getting what they deserve," she said with a sweet smile.

McGonagall gave her a look and then walked away.

"Seven years of pranking and we finally get some kind of pay back," Niki said.

"What about Moony and Wormtail? They deserve pay back too," James whined.

"One, Remus is smart and helps us with our homework. Two, Peter is Peter and he is our buddy," Shay said.

"What? I'm not your buddy?" Sirius asked.

"Not when you turn me into a disco ball," Shay said and gave her hair a shake.

Glitter went everywhere.

"Fine, let's make a truce. No pranking each other. Marauders stick together and we leave the girls alone," James said.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Mr. Black, I too, am a fan of the Chudley Cannons," Dumbledore said while walking by.

"See, I am not gay" Sirius mumbled.

"Whatever you say Sirius."

"Thank Merlin they're over!" Niki said as she sat on Remus's lap.

"I know. Now we just have the next couple of weeks to worry about whether we did good enough," Lily said.

"Lils, don't worry, out of everyone, you and Remus have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, I couldn't stop thinking about Cockroach Clusters and having to pee, so I'm pretty sure I messed up," Shay said from her chair.

"There will be no more talking about the N.E.W.T.'s until we get the results. The school year is almost over and that means we're almost out of Hogwarts for good. We are going to treasure the next few weeks, whether we like it or not," James said.

"Ok Captain," Niki said sarcastically.

"Hey don't you have a school cup to worry about or something?" Shay asked him and his face immediately lit up.

"That's right! Sirius gather the team. We're practicing in a half hour" James said and raced off.

"Thanks for reminding him" Sirius said sarcastically and then sulked away.

"James isn't going to even remember my name for the next two weeks," Lily said with a laugh.

"This is nice," Shay thought to herself as she walked towards the lake.

It was a beautiful day out and she was by herself so it was nice and peaceful. Something she needed at the time. The only problem was that everyone stared at her. It didn't really bother her too much. She just thought that by now they would have been sick of talking about the pregnant girl. Shay saw someone she hadn't talked to in a while a decided to sit next to him.

"Hello Severus," Shay said while trying to situate herself.

Severus looked up from his book and gave her a weird look.

"What do you want?" he asked suspiciously.

"I just want to talk to you."

"Really. I'm sure you're just here as some part of a prank conducted by your dim-witted boyfriend."

"Nope. The dimwit and his partner are in quidditch practice. So what's new?"

"Go away. I don't want to talk to you."

"Well I want to talk to you damn it! Now listen!" Shay raised her voice.

"If you insist," Severus said with a raised eyebrow.

They sat in silence for a while.

"I thought you wanted to talk to me?"

"You know you don't have to do it," Shay said quietly.

"Do what?"

"This," Shay said and grabbed his left forearm.

He knew what she was talking about.

"I'm not going to talk with you about this," Severus said and closed his book.

"Then don't talk, just listen."

He stayed where he was so Shay continued.

"Severus, I know that you are a good person. You don't have to join him. There are people that can protect you."

"Why do you think I'm such a good person all the sudden. I thought I was your cousin that was freakishly into Dark Arts and you wished you weren't even related to."

"And I was stupid and immature. Severus I know you saved me that night I fell down the stairs. I know that you have to care about me at least a little bit."

"I didn't help you. I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes, you did. You're not a murderer Severus. You're better than that. I know you had a rough childhood and this is how my family accepted you. But fuck my family, they don't care about you. They just care about him. They'd sacrifice you like that," Shay said and snapped her fingers.

"I don't need to listen to this" Severus said and went to get up.

"Yes, you do!" Shay yelled and pulled him back down.

"You can stop this now. I don't want to see you dead Severus. I don't want to have to hurt you."

"Why don't you talk to your sister about this?"

"There is no saving her. She's too brainwashed. But you're too smart to be like her. Please just consider what I'm saying," Shay pleaded and let a tear run down her face.

"Why do you care so much all the sudden?"

"A lot of things are going to happen after we graduate. I don't want to see you die for him."

"It's a little too late to back out now Shay," Severus said and quickly revealed the skull on his left forearm.

"Sev, this isn't going to make you stop loving her. If you would have changed your ways I know for a fact that she would be with you right now," Shay said quickly.

He stood quickly but Shay saw a look of hurt and anger in his eyes.

"Quit worrying about me. You never did before so don't start now. It looks like you have your own problems to work out," he said and started to walk away.

"Severus, just consider what I said," Shay called after him and quickly wiped away the rest of her tears.
