A/N Grrrr... This would have been out so much earlier if the queue hadn't closed. Sorry for the wait! I finally got chapter 30 written. YAY!!! Oh, and a special dedication to WolfeMoon who gave me my covetted 300th review! Okay, read on HP lovers, read on (hehe, Febreze commercial)

Hermione noticed that there was a great deal of students in the room. They were all looking at her confused; like they didn’t know what she was talking about. Ginny grabbed her arm and pulled Hermione towards the girl’s dormitory. “They aren’t in on it. Come with me.” Ginny opened the door and Hermione saw her big surprise.

Looking around, Hermione saw dozens of large piles of clothing. She picked a shirt up and looked at the tag. It read Maternity. Hermione turned to Ginny. “Are these all for me? How did you afford all this?”

Ginny smiled at Hermione’s astonished expression. “Yes, they are for you. All of them. You're my only pregnant friend at the time. These clothes were my mum’s. I wrote to her and told her you were pregnant. I didn’t tell her it was Malfoy. She says congratulations on the baby. Mum also said that the clothes are magical. They grow with you. The clothes can also change colors. Mum didn’t need them anymore. So she gave them to you.” Hermione set down the pile of outfits she was surveying. She moved over to another pile but stopped to walk over to Ginny.

The two friends embraced each other warmly. Ginny let Hermione go to keep looking at the piles. “You can't keep wearing Malfoy’s clothes forever. Everyone is probably talking about your clothes right now. You need a little fashion. Mum knew the clothes were a little outdated so with the help of Phlegm. She’s been living at the house and won't get out! Mum won't let go of Bill but wants Phlegm to leave the house. So, anyway, both of them updated the outfits.” Ginny pulled out her wand and shrunk the many piles of fabric. She stuffed the small attire into a small clutch. Ginny handed the purse to Hermione.

Hermione took the purse from Ginny and smiled. “Thanks Ginny, you're the best friend a girl could have. You're like a sister to me. I don’t know how I could ever repay you.” This was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her.

Ginny walked over to the door and gripped the doorknob. “You can start by having a healthy baby. Now go get out of here and go meet Malfoy.” The friends had one final embrace and Hermione left the room pushing past all of the other Gryffindors.

Hermione walked down the corridors and into the common room. She saw that Draco was asleep on the couch and decided not to wake him up. She grabbed her coat and gloves. Since it was Sunday, she wanted to go outside and take a walk in the snow. She loved the winter. It was so nice and peaceful.

Hermione crunched through the snow. She laughed happily and kicked a large pile of the fluffy powder. She saw all the younger students having snowball fights. Her mind wandered back to when she, Harry and Ron would do the exact same thing. She rubbed her hands together to warm them up. She heard shuffling footsteps behind her and spun around.

Blaise headed down the stone path up to Hermione. She smiled at him and he acknowledged her briefly. “Hey Granger, what are you doing so far out here? You should be inside staying warm. You are pregnant, aren’t you?” Hermione nodded and Blaise shrugged off one of his jackets. He outstretched his coat. “You look cold.” Hermione took the jacket graciously.

Hermione pulled the coat over her arms and shivered. Even though it was only about one o’clock in the afternoon it was still frighteningly cold. Blaise rubbed his neck distractedly. He stopped and leaned against a tree. Hermione stopped next to him and looked at him questioningly. He looked up at the sky and back at Hermione. “Is your baby still okay. I mean, is it healthy and everything?” Hermione nodded again and Blaise smiled slightly. “That’s good. I've never seen Draco so happy. Since as long as I've known him he’s always been depressed. He would make fun of people to try and make himself feel better about his life.” Blaise righted himself and started to walk again.

Hermione followed Blaise as he continued to explain. “He would be really happy at the start of school but he got worse and worse. Just the thought of going back to his house made him angry. Not many people know this but he’s tried to commit suicide about five times already. But when he got together with you, he changed. He might have seemed angry about the baby at first but he didn’t want you or the baby to get hurt. He’s lost too much already. He just wanted you to be safe and happy.” Hermione stopped and looked at Blaise. His violet eyes showed the empathy for his best friend.

Hermione smiled and Blaise smirked. Hermione jerked her head towards the castle. “Come on, lets go.” After a while of walking, Hermione broke the eerie silence. “So, who are you taking to the Winter Ball? You must have a girlfriend or someone to go with. I mean, you’re a sweet guy and you aren’t too bad on the eyes either.” They looked at each other for a moment and burst out laughing. Hermione buried her hands in her face and blushed a deep red. “I cannot believe I just said that! I feel so stupid! I don’t mean that way! I meant that that your not the ugliest guy around. I do have a boyfriend, your best friend, so you don’t have to worry about it.”

Blaise laughed at Hermione’s expression. “Don’t worry. I won't hold it against you. You have enough to be worrying yourself about.” They had finally gotten to the castle and they parted ways. Before they did though, Blaise grabbed Hermione’s arm. “Granger, no matter what happens between you and Draco, just remember that he loves you. Trust me. I know Draco well enough to tell when he is really serious about a girl. He’s never been like this. He loves you. More than you could ever imagine. You and the baby have changed him. Its like he has something to live for now.” Blaise let go of Hermione and she walked up the stairs pondering his words.

Hermione entered the castle and was engulfed by the extensive heat of the building. She walked down the deserted passageways toward the Head’s common room. Suddenly Hermione felt a hand close over her mouth. Another hand closed around her waist. She tried screaming but a voice whispered in her ear. “HUSH!” She felt herself being picked up around the waist. Hermione bit her adversary’s hand but whoever it was, they did not let go.

Hermione was kicking and flailing against her attacker. Whoever it was was strong and did not care about whatever pain she was causing. She felt her mouth fill with blood. Hermione pulled her arm free and jammed it into her aggressor’s groin. That made the man drop Hermione. She spun around on the floor and saw who it was. She sighed with a big smile. “God, it’s only you Draco. I thought you were somebody else. Don’t scare me like that.” Hermione sat up and shook her head.

Draco was lying on the floor groaning. “It was supposed to be a surprise for you but you just can't keep still. Can you? You just had to bite me didn’t you?” He looked at his hand which was dripping blood. “Good god woman, you bite hard!” He took off his handkerchief and tied it tightly around his hand. There were teeth marks embedded in his palm.

Hermione took his hand and looked it. The white fabric was already soaked with Draco’s blood. She kissed his hand and he winced. “You said you had a surprise for me?” Hermione raised her eyebrows. Draco nodded and Hermione narrowed her eyes. “Well, surprise me.”
