Chapter 2

“Hermione, where are we?” asked Ron, looking around with interest.

“A small town just outside of Sydney,” replied Hermione, a breeze blowing her bushy hair over her face.

“Is this where your parents are?”

She tucked a loose strand behind her ear distractedly. “I don’t know yet, I left some pictures of this place in our house after I modified their memories, hoping this would be where they would go. They might not have found the right places though. That would make our search much harder. I think we should split up, if they are here we will find them faster.”

“Okay I’ll go with Ginny,” said Harry quickly, as if she was about to be chosen by someone else as a partner. The red head smiled, and took his hand in agreement.

“I guess that leaves you and me together, Hermione,” said Ron with a grin.

Hermione smiled slightly, but her mind was on the task in front of them. “Remember, their names are Wendell and Monica Wilkins,’ she instructed. ‘Just ask around for them. They still look like my parents so be on the lookout for anybody who looks remotely like them. Harry and Ginny, you two start at the inn and work your way north. Ron and I will go south, okay?”

“Okay Hermione, but what are we supposed to do once we have found them? I mean we can’t just go up to them and say, 'come with us so we can get your daughter to take a charm off of you so you will know who you really are. By the way your names are not really Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins, your name is Granger and your daughter Hermione would be rather upset if you didn’t come'.”

“Ronald Weasley, you can be so dim sometimes! I’d have thought it would be obvious that you take the charm off of them yourself, before saying anything.”

Ron looked indignant. “But how am I supposed to know what charm you even used, let alone the way to take it off?”

“Ron, stop it you're upsetting her,” interrupted Ginny, who had remained quiet for most of the conversation.

Ron sighed, and his expression softened. “I’m sorry Hermione, It's just that I have had a rough week, and I would really like to get this over with.”

Hermione smiled. “Ron, remember I am going to be with you, so don’t worry about that. I can do the charm myself if we find them. Ginny and Harry can just apperate to the inn every hour, and if you find them I can go with you to where they are and sort them out, okay? Now, Harry, Ginny, is everything clear?”

“Perfectly! We’ll meet you at the inn in a hour,” said Ginny, starting to lead Harry away.

“See you soon,” replied Ron, as he and Hermione set of walking south.

Harry and Ginny went from house to house, asking the residents if they knew where the Wilkins lived. They hadn’t had much luck until they came upon a small white house that looked as if a little old lady lived there. There were cats all over the yard and sitting on the porch. Neither Harry nor Ginny thought that the person who lived in this house would have a clue where Hermione's parents lived, but they walked up the side walk to the house anyway, and knocked on the door.

“Come in,” said a small voice from inside the house.

They walked into the house, and found themselves in a small lounge, where a little girl sat on a couch in front of a television.

“Um, are your mom or dad home?” asked Harry, unsure what to say to the child.

“Nope, did you need something? I don’t want to buy anything,” said the girl, not bothering to look away from the television.

“We were just wondering if you knew where the Wilkins lived?” asked Ginny, in a gentle voice.

The girl scowled at her tone of voice, then smiled mischievously. “They used to live in the house three down from mine, they were always coming over to visit my parents.”

“Do they not live there anymore?” asked Ginny, looking confused.

“I thought you knew, they got killed a few weeks ago,” answered the girl, her face serious.

“Do you know what killed them?” asked Harry, not believing his ears. It didn’t seem likely, yet why would this little girl lie?

“No, I suppose there is a chance they are alive, they just up and disappeared. At least they won’t keep bothering me about how I brush my teeth now.”

Harry and Ginny looked at each other. Each thinking the same thought, that this girl must be slightly mad.

“Thanks for your help,’ said Harry. ‘Er, We’ll just be going now,’ and he led the way out of the door. The little girl didn’t seem to care, her eyes re-glued on the television screen as if Harry and Ginny had never been there.

They arrived back at the inn a few minutes later, to find that Ron and Hermione hadn't arrived yet.

“What are we going to tell Hermione?” asked Harry in concern, sitting down at one of the couches in the lobby.

“Let's wait and see if they found them, or any information about them, before we say anything. It should be a few minutes before they get back,” said Ginny, joining him on the couch, where they proceeded to wait worriedly for Ron and Hermione to return.

“Maybe that little girl was just making it all up,’ suggested Ginny after a minute of silence. ‘She didn’t seem to care much about her teeth, after all.”

“Stop bothering about how she thinks of her teeth Ginny; Hermione’s parents were both dentists. It’s too much of a coincidence.”

“Maybe they are on vacation for a while,” replied Ginny sensibly.

“We will just have to wait until they get back and then we will see what they think,” replied Harry, taking her hand reassuringly.

“I know…I just hope it was a coincidence, and the little girl really was playing a joke, thinking she would have a bit of fun.”

Harry turned to the doorway, and stood up suddenly. “Look, Ginny they just apperated outside the door! What are we going to tell them? Hermione will be heartbroken if Voldemort got them despite her protection.”

Ginny jumped up too. ‘Wait and see what they say first!’ she murmured quietly.

Ron entered shortly followed by Hermione.

“Did you find them?” asked Ginny hopefully.

“Not exactly,” said Hermione with a grin. “We know where they are, but we haven’t seen them yet.”

“Where are they then?” asked a relived Ginny.

“In London,” replied a happy Hermione.

“Why are you smiling? Are they okay? Are you Okay?” asked Harry, looking worried.

“They are just seems that my baby sister did not agree with Australia.”

“What?” exclaimed Harry and Ginny in unison, looking at Hermione with wide eyes.

“It would seem that Wendell and Monica have had another baby girl,” she explained. “Sadly they still think it is their one and only. I think we need to change that, so now we have to go to London to search for them. I think that we should stay the night here though. And this is a really nice town, after all.”

Harry was lost for words and Ginny just stood there open mouthed.

“You have no idea what we heard happened to them,” she said finally.

The next day they apperated to London. Thankfully, Hermione had found out which street her parents were now living in, so the search didn’t last long. There was a sign on the door of Hermione’s parents house. It read:

Welcome to the Wilkins’,
Wendell, Monica, and Ellieanna

“Oh Ginny I really do have a baby sister!” cried Hermione happily. “I was afraid it was all just a big joke. I suppose we should knock, or should we just go in? Are they even at home?”

Ron put a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Hermione it will be okay, stop fretting! Let’s just go in. Harry and Ginny will come in too. It will be fine, don't worry!”

They entered the house to find Hermione’s mother sitting in a rocking chair holding Hermione’s baby sister.

“Who a…” began Mrs. Granger, but Hermione took the charm off before her mother could finish her sentence.

“Oh Hermione,” said Mrs. Granger immediately, and she sat the baby in the crib and rushed over to her daughter to gave her a hug worthy of Mrs. Weasley.

Mr. Wilkins came in from outside looking confused.

Hermione smiled in happiness, her eyes shining with tears. “Oh Dad, I missed you so much!” she said, rushing forwards to give him a hug.

“Uh, who are you?” asked Mr. Wilkins, looking even more confused and flustered then ever.

“Oh duh the charm,” muttered Hermione as she backed up and performed the counter spell.

It had an immediate effect on Mr. Granger. His eyes showed recognition and love as he cried, “Hermione, oh Hermione!” and put his arms around his daughter.

“Um, Hermione, we are going back to the burrow, you can come there later once you have all uh… caught up,” said Ron, looking very uncomfortable.

“Okay I’ll see you later,” sobbed Hermione, managing a weak smile.

The three apperated back to the Burrow, where Mrs. Weasley was waiting, overjoyed to see them. Harry, Ron, and Ginny told Molly the story of their little adventure, but they left out the part about Hermione’s baby sister. They thought Hermione would like to tell her that part herself. After dinner, Harry and Ron played exploding snap until ten. Then they went up to their room and went to sleep.

That night, Harry dreamed of Ginny...They were at the world cup, he and Ginny seated in the stands. The cannons were ahead by two hundred points. It was unlikely that they would lose, a complete miracle, considering that they never won, but Harry wasn’t paying attention to the game; he was too intent on Ginny. He kissed her on the cheek; she really was just too beautiful to be true. He wanted to take her into his arms and marry her right then and there. He loved her so very much; he was lucky to have her.

A/N: J.K. says on her website that she planed for Hermione to have a little sister but by the 7th book she thought it was to late, so maybe it’s not to late. I named her little sister after my sister who is my four year old best friend (I got her hooked on Harry Potter too!!!). I wrote this in 3 hours so if its not any good or just to short sorry I tried.  Please leave me a comment!!! If it is even just one or two words I would be really greatful.

Here I go:

Hermione entered the room followed by Ginny and Luna.

“What are you three doing in here?” asked Ron.

“We came to see our boyfriends,” replied Hermione, smiling sweetly.

“Wait your boyfriends? Luna and Neville?” asked Ron on the verge of laughter.

“Ya, so?” replied Neville defensively.

“Nothing just… I ‘t see didn‘t see that one coming,” said Ron, trying very hard not to burst out laughing.

“I think its sweet,” said Ginny, staring her brother in the eye.

“So do I” said Hermione in a dreamy voice worthy of Luna.

“Sorry what were we talking about? I think a wrackspurt got me,” said Luna.
