Friday afternoon couldn’t have came quicker for Rose. She was extremely excited about her date with Harry Potter. The only thing that put a damper on her mood is the male population of Hogwarts sudden interest in talking to her.

"Hi Rose, my name’s Seamus Finnigan," he told her with his hand outstretched as she cleaned up her potions materials.

"I know Seamus, we have every class together," she sighed slightly.

"Well I didn’t think a girl as pretty as you would have noticed," he smiled cheesily. Rose turned around to Harry who seemed frustrated but she gave him a look for him not to wait for her. "I was wondering if you knew about Hogsmead. It’s a really amazing village and we just so happen to have a trip planned for tomorrow. I think you would really enjoy going."

"I am," she said bluntly but felt bad at her less-than-kind attitude. Truth was she was getting asked out by every boy she passed, and not one of them had attempted to talk to her before. "I’m sorry Seamus, I didn’t mean to snap. I’m already going with someone though. I think Lavender Brown is dying for you to ask her if that’s any consolation." Seamus’ eyes lit up and he ran off yelling ‘thanks!’

"Boys of Hogwart’s be warned, ask out Rose Deloncré at your own risk!" she heard Draco Malfoy joke as he walked over to her. "Playing matchmaker was a good diversion, and the ‘you’re already going with someone’, priceless."

"Well, all she does is gush about him so I figured I would help out. And it’s not funny, because I actually do have a date," she turned and walked out beckoning him to follow her.

"Wait, you really do? You hardly even know anyone here. Who are you going with?" he asked seemingly panic stricken.

"Jealous Jaune?" she grinned.

"Well, no, I’m just curious is all."

"Curiosity did kill the cat you know," she said turning and backing away from him with laughter in her voice.

"At least the cat lived an interesting and knowing life," he said trying to catch up.

"You can find out tomorrow Mr. Malfoy," she disappeared around a corner and when he looked around it she was gone.

"God, how does she do that?" he thought walking to him common room and thinking of every boy in the school that could be Rose’s date.

Rose woke up early the next morning in anticipation of the day. She went to Hermione’s bed but found it empty. A walk to the bathroom revealed Hermione already awake and getting ready.

"You’re up early today," Rose yawned.

"I just wanted an early start I guess, and I figured everyone would be taking more time in the bathroom, because of dates and stuff, not that I have one, I just want to look- "

"You do realize everyone knows you’re dating Ron right?"

"Oh no, do they really? What is Harry going to think," she worried.

"Well, seeing we have been spending so much time together while you too are off kissing, he seems ecstatic."

"He is really okay with it?" she beamed. "Oh I’m so glad. And we haven’t been off snogging," she blushed.

"If you say so."

"So I heard you have become quite the heartbreaker, who’s the lucky guy who got a yes?"

"Funny you mention that," Rose didn’t laugh however, she was as nervous as Hermione to see people’s reactions. Harry was very well liked and cared for, she didn’t want the school to turn against her for it. "Harry, actually."

Hermione’s jaw dropped. "No, Harry? I had a feeling you two were getting close but I wouldn’t have expected so soon after- " she cut herself off. "I’m really happy for you two, I’m sure you will have a great time. You are both very sought after, after all." she smiled and turned back into the bathroom.

"Wait, so soon after what?" she questioned. She never received her answer though because Lavender and Parvati had woken up and the bathroom became madness as four teenage girls prepared for their dates.

Harry and Rose had been to almost every shop in Hogsmead, and she was loving every minute of it. It wasn’t the most romantic date seeing she was pulling him in and out of stores he had been in a hundred times, but he loved to see her happy. What was most surprising was her love of Zonko’s Joke Shop and he promised to take her to Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes.

"This is Honeydukes, it’s a candy shop," he said as they walked towards it. As soon as they walked in she started grabbing for things on all different shelves. While she was paying for her large purchase she looked around for Harry but couldn’t find him anywhere. She walked out, however, to find him outside the door with a bouquet of pink roses.

"Harry they’re beautiful," she gushed. "Thank you so much"

"Not as beautiful as you," he murmured and a red tinge came to his cheeks. She smiled and leaned in closer to him a little nervous at first but he mirrored her action. They were inches apart when someone opened the door the Honeydukes and yelled "Move!"

They jumped apart and started off down the road again both a little embarrassed. "So do you want to go sit down and have a butterbeer or something?" he asked.

"They serve liquor to minors here?"

"Nah, butterbeer isn’t really alcohol. You wont ger drunk, I promise."

"Oh, too bad," she smirked. "What about that place?" she pointed to Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop.

"Um I was thinking The Three Broomsticks. Trust me, you’ll like it a lot better," he assured her remaining as far away from the place as possible.

When they sat down with their butterbeers whispering started up like it had been all day. Usually she could hear what people said about her and Harry, but all in all she didn’t care. It did, however, avert her mind back to a conversation she had earlier that morning.

"You know when I told Hermione we were going on a date she seemed surprised," Rose started.

"She wasn’t upset though right?"

"No nothing like that. She said she was surprised so soon after.. Well she wouldn’t say after what. Any ideas?" she laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

"One. And I promise I’ll tell you, just not now. I’d rather just concentrate on you." he moved in close to her. Again, they were very close when they heard a loud bang.

"What they bloody hell could it be this time," he turned to face the window. "Probably just someone playing a trick-" he cut himself off as a piercing scream filled the air.

"Stay here," he told Rose. She, of course, ran right after him. The sight outside confused her. There were men in black cloaks shooting curses everywhere. People were screaming and running. A lot of students were fighting them.

"Avada Kedavra!" she heard curses being yelled from every direction. She didn’t even notice when one was coming in her direction.

"Watch out Rose," she heard someone yell to the surprise of everyone.
