This is my very first song fic which i've been writing for the last 3 months, amongst writing my 2 other stories.
Song by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Narcissa Malfoy huddled nervously in the manor, awaiting the return of her husband. She knew that his delayed arrival meant that he’d been hindered somehow. These days, he spent a lot of time becoming intoxicated and came home in the most frightful rage. Her better instincts had told her to leave him, but she couldn’t; for her son’s sake. Lucius hurt him too, but it was more than physically. Lucius had a way of affecting Draco emotionally in a way that nobody else could; not even the Dark Lord.

*Flashback*

Narcissa Malfoy waited excitedly for her husband to return home; she had for him, the most marvellous news. A ‘pop’ noise from outside alerted her to his arrival and she scurried over to the door to meet him as he came in. The door crashed open and in stepped Lucius looking extremely inebriated.

‘Honey, I have wonderful news… I’m pregnant!’ she said happily.

Lucius turned her, and an infuriated look came over his face.

‘You whore!’ he cried. ‘You slut!’
He grabbed her shirt and shoved her against the wall.
‘Who’s the father?’ he bellowed, pressing her hard up against the wall. “Well? Who is it?’

‘I-its you’ whimpered Narcissa.

‘You lie! WHO’S THE FATHER?’ he roared.

‘I’m not lying; it’s you. I promise!’ Narcissa sobbed.

No-its-not’ he shouted. Narcissa’s head began to ache. ‘I’m infertile’

Narcissa fell to the floor weeping. This was her worst nightmare. Finally she was pregnant, but the father wasn’t her husband.

‘Tell me who the father is!’ Lucius hollered again.

Narcissa continued to sob, which angered Lucius more.

‘You will pay!’ he yelled pulling out his wand, ‘Crucio!’

She felt the full effects of The Cruciatus Curse for what felt like an eternity then at last it stopped. Narcissa opened her eyes to see Lucius standing above her with his wand pointed straight at her.

‘Who’s the father?’ he said more calmly than before.

‘I-I don’t know…’ she said weakly.

‘Expelliarmus’ he yelled and Narcissa flew onto her front. “Diffindo!’ he cried again.

*end of flashback*

Narcissa was left with horrific cuts after that night. It made her shudder just to think about it. After Draco was born, Lucius cast a spell on him so that his exterior appearance looked like him. When the spell wore off, Lucius would curse and punish Draco. He wouldn’t let Narcissa take the penalty.

Sometimes, it all got too much for her to cope with and she tried to leave, taking Draco with her. Only, at this time Lucius showed his softer, kind side.

‘Honey… Honey. You don’t have to leave like this. I love you, you know that’ he crooned. And when that didn’t work, his attitude would change. He would try to make Narcissa guilty for leaving.

‘I love you so much, and I don’t even deserve you. I deserve to live alone in this huge house… all alone with only myself for company… But after what I’ve done to you, I can’t ask you to stay’ he would say.

Then Narcissa felt culpable and stayed, but she soon regretted it.

Hey girl you know you drive me crazy
one word puts the rhythm in my hand.
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down.

She had several cuts and bruises on her body and they made her weep every time she saw them. It reminded her of the pain and terror she felt on a regular basis. She would use spells or make up to hide the more obvious wounds but some were so deep she was unable to make them disappear.

Cover up with make up in the mirror
tell yourself it's never gonna happen again
you cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

A loud crash from outside the door made her jump. Someone fumbled with the front door and it opened slowly. A long shadow was cast through the dark foyer. Lucius staggered in.

‘Cissy! Get your self down here!’ he hollered.

Narcissa jumped out of her hiding spot, rearranged her hair and tiptoed over to her husband.

He turned his head slowly towards her; she was surprised when it didn’t continue in a full 360° circle. It happened so quickly but she would forever remember the sting of his hand colliding with her face.

‘That’s for not being here when I came in!’ he said maliciously.

Narcissa could still feel where he’d hit her. Tears welled up in her eyes but she wouldn’t let them out; she knew that he would hit her again.

He began to get agitated and Narcissa knew that these were the warning signs for his more violent attacks. She knew she had to get away, and fast.

‘You don’t deserve to live in this house. You and your filthy bastard son’ he spat.

Narcissa’s face crumpled at the mention of Draco and anger boiled inside her however, she held her tongue for she knew what the consequences of her words would be.

‘Malfoy’s DON’T-SHOW-EMOTION!’ he bellowed as he saw her face. Narcissa fell to the floor. Lucius’ face was contorted with rage.

‘Didn’t I teach you? Didn’t I show you! Only filth shows emotion, not people of pure blood lineage!’ he roared.

Narcissa had never seen him this angry before.

‘GET UP!’ He yelled and took her to another room. If anyone had been outside Malfoy manor that night, they would have heard the agonized screams of Narcissa at the hands of her husband.

Do you feel like a man?
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

That summer when Draco arrived home, Narcissa was overjoyed. She hugged him tightly as though he were about to die that very instant, but she had good reason. For Draco transformed that summer.

He turned into a brown haired, blue eyed pleasant looking young man, an exact replica of the man that Narcissa had slept with 17 years ago. Lucius was infuriated at this change and began instead, to take out all his anger on Draco. Narcissa just watched on in horror.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down.

‘Master’ Lucius purred as though trying to seduce someone. ‘What an honour it is to have you in my house’

‘Lucius’ a voice said sharply.

‘The plan is not working’ it said after some time. ‘Are you keeping your end of the bargain?’

‘Of course, my lord’ said Lucius. ‘But it is getting difficult, he’s no longer a boy. He is no longer willing to submit’

‘Lucius’ said the voice. ‘You’re pushing away those that care about you’

‘I’m only following in the footsteps of the great, my master’ Lucius purred again.

‘I never had anyone that cared about me’ said the voice. ‘Its not part of the plan’

‘But-’ Lucius tried to say

‘- I’ve been very tolerant with you Lucius, but my patience has reached its end’ the voice became irritated.

‘You will do it tonight, or face the consequences’ said the voice. A loud pop indicated that the man had disapparated.

I see the way you go and say your right again,
say your right again
heed my lecture

Narcissa scrambled away from the door as she heard Lucius’ footsteps from inside the room. She’d just overheard a very important conversation and she knew what he was going to do.

‘What are you…’ Lucius stopped. ‘You were eavesdropping, weren’t you?’ Anger spread through his body until it looked like he was going to explode.

That night he was far more violent with her than he’d ever been, but nobody heard, only the 17 year old boy huddled in his room, weeping.

Do you feel like a man?
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down a new life she has found.

Lucius left in a rage and flew up to the boy’s room but Draco was no longer there. He disapparated and began his man hunt.

Meanwhile, Draco appeared at his mother’s side just moments after Lucius left.

‘Draco go, save yourself’ she whispered fighting to stay conscious.

‘No mother, I can’t leave you’ he wept.

‘Please, there’s nothing you can do here’ she moaned. ‘I’ll die peacefully knowing you are safe.’

‘Mother no!’ he sobbed. He could tell that life was leaving her, fast.

‘Its okay Draco, I’m finally free’ she said in a barely audible whisper. ‘Go… go!’ Narcissa said as she passed away.

Face down in the dirt… she says, this doesn't hurt… she says, I’ve finally had enough.

Face down in the dirt… she says, this doesn't hurt… she says, I’ve finally had enough
