Hermione and Draco had been planing a Halloween Ball. They were having an arguement about if they should wear costumes or not. Hermione was for it and Draco was anti-costumes.
"But Draco, it's Halloween!" whined Hermione, stomping her foot in frusteration.
"What's your point?" said Draco.
"You're supposed to wear costumes on Halloween, Draco! Plus, it would make it waaaay more interesting than just a band coming and playing! They could have a contest!"
"No, we're not eight year olds."
Hermione stuck out her lip.
"See? That exactly what I'm talking about!"
"What?" said Hermione.
"Only eight year olds stick out their lip when they want something, Hermione!"
"Well obviously not, since I just did!"
"You know what I mean."
"No, not really. Please enlighten me."
"Oh, don't try to use big words after that baby act!"
"What, enlighten? Enlighten is not a big word. You just have a small vocabulary."
"I do not have a small vocabulary! Anyways, what does this have to do with the ball!
Let's get back on subject!"
"Right," said Hermione, "I really think we should have costumes. We should have a vote on this with the prefects."
"No! They're going to go with your idea!"
"How do you know that?"
"Because they like you more!"
"Well, you shouldn't be so cold to them, Draco. You know, you kill more flies with honey."
"Oh, what are you, my mother!"
"Would you like me to be? I didn't think you had those kind of fantasies, Draco, but you know, whatever floats your boat," said Hermione, smirking.
"Oh, you know what floats my boat." said Draco, walking towards Hermione.
"No! We can't do this right now! We have alot of work to do!"
"Hermione, it's two weeks until then! we have plenty of time."
"Draco, I want to have this done before then!"
"We will, Hermione, relax! Can't we just rest for a while?" said Draco, grabbing her by the hips.
"This is not resting, Draco!"
"Alright, then can we not rest for a while?"
"You know you want to."
"Oh, so now your telling me what I want! I can't believe you!"
"Oh no! I'm not falling for that one again! I've learned, Hermione. You always try to start a fight. I'm not going to let you start a fight this time."
"Draco-," But he cut her off by his lips on hers. Giving up, she leaned into the kiss.
Ron was walking to the Gryffindor Common Room, trying to get his mind off of Hermione and Draco.
I can't believe she left me for him! he thought.
He walked into an empty classroom to think, not wanting to go to his Common Room just yet. He walked in and found two people making out.
"Sorry." he said walking out.
Wait, was that my sister! he thought, walking back into the room.
"Ron!" Ginny said.
"What are you doing!" said Ron.
"Ron-" spoke Harry from beside Ginny, but Ron cut him off.
"For God's sake, Harry, put your shirt back on! What the hell are you doing to my little sister!"
"Well, what the hell does it look like, Ron! I really don't need you to come and bust in on me everytime I'm-" but Ron cut Ginny off.
"I was walking past! I didn't know you were in here! You're everywhere! I can't get away from you! Everytime I turn around, you're making out with someone else!"
"Really? When was the last time you caught me making out like this?" she said.
"What about last year with Dean!"
"Okay, that's one, can you think of anymore? No, you can't. I have always been faithful, sorry I can't say the same thing for you. You are such a hypocrit! I can't believe you can come in here and tell me that I'm always moving from guy to guy, when your girlfriend just broke up with you for cheating on her!"
"No, I don't want to hear it! You can't tell me anything! You have nothing on me. Now get out!"
"No! Why do you expect me-"
"I don't expect anything of you. I know you're going to get out. Right now." she said something, pointing her wand at him and he flew out of the room, the door shutting once he was out.
Outside in the corridor, Ron rubbed his head where it had it the floor. He groaned in pain and frusteration, then got up and went to the Gryffindor Common Room.
A few days later, they were having a meeting between the Head Boy and Girl and the prefects. They were having an arguement about having costumes at the Halloween Ball, and just as Draco had predicted, all wanted costumes. Except for the Slytherines, of course.
"Okay, okay. Lets have a vote. Who wants to have costumes in the Halloween Ball?"
All raised hands except for the Slytherines.
"Okay, majority rules. Costumes it is."
Draco and the two Slytherines groaned in annoyance, while Hermione sent a look of victory at Draco.
Draco stuck his tounge out at her.
"Okay, I think that's enough for today. Think about decorations until Monday, I really want to get this done and we're running out of time. Dismissed."
They all filed out of the room, Hermione and Draco last.
As they went into the corridor, Harry and Ginny wakled by, holding hands. Hermione smiled at them, but Draco glared.
"Be nice, Draco." Hermione whispered.
"Why do you expect me to be nice to my enimy of seven years? I don't think so."
"Well, maybe if you were at least civil to him, he wouldn't be your enimy anymore. Tell me you'll at least try."
"Okay, fine. Whatever."
"You know you are the best, right?"
"Yes, i do." said Draco, smirking down at her.
With that, they walked back into their Common Room.
Dinner was sickening for Ron today. He was sitting with Seamus and Dean, instead of his normal crew because he was mad at all of them. When he looked over at Harry and Ginny, they were whispering in each others ears and sitting too close. Ron had to roll his eyes when he saw it. It is true that he would rather see Ginny with Harry than anybody else, but seeing them in that empty classroom was just too much.
"I caught the Quaffle and was just about to the hoop, when James hit my arm with a bludger. My arm still hurts from it too." Dean said. They were talking about Quittich they had been playing over the summer. Ron wasn't listening for a change, though. He was too busy watching Hermione and Draco glancing at each other when they thought nobody was looking.
How could my life go so horribly wrong? thought Ron.
I'm not a bad person am I?
He thought about everything he had been doing to Hermione behind her back. Then he thought about how he was treating his best friend and his sister.
I am. he thought, sadly.
If I saw how I was acting, I wouldn't like me.
"What about you, Ron?" said Seamus.
"Huh?" Ron said, looking up.
"I know you and your brothers have to be playing Quittich in the summer. Aren't there any good stories?"
"Yeah. Hey, I got to go. I'll see you guys in class."
"Okay, see you later, mate," said Seamus.
Ron was already walking away, though. As he walked out of the Great Hall, he ran into Lavender.
"Hey, Ron. Can we talk?"
"No," Ron said and just brushed past her.
"Ron, wait!" said Lavender, catching up with him.
"I know you and Hermione broke up because of me and I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I know how much you liked her," she said, looking ginuenly sorry.
"It's not your fault. It's mine. It always has been and it always will be. God, why do I always have to screw things up!" Ron said, forgetting Lavender was there.
Lavender didn't say anyhting, so he just walked back into the Common Room after saying the password.
Right now, Draco was sitting in the Great Hall. He was sitting next to Pansy, because there was no where else to sit. He had been ignoring Pansy. Draco had been running away from her everytime she tried to talk to him and making up excuses everytime she cornered him. He could tell she had been affected by it by the way she was acting around him. Usually she would just shrug it off like nothing happened, but today she was acting particularly strange. Draco was trying not to care, but it was just so unlike Pansy.
"Pansy, why are you acting so weird? Stop it. It's annoying me," Draco whispered to her.
"Everything I do is annoying to you. You want me to go away and now your asking me what's wrong. Just leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for this right now," Pansy whispered back to Draco.
"Whatever." said Draco, shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh, and by the way... I know your little secret," Pansy said before walking out of the Great Hall.
Draco's heart leaped as he looked aver at Hermione.
She couldn't know, he thought
