Thank you Emily!
"So, Master Yoda, where exactly are we going?" I asked Draco as he pulled me through the yard. He stopped walking and I bumped into him.” What did you call me?"
I rolled my eyes at him. "Never mind, so where are we going?" He pointed farther down the grass. "Just beyond the Black Lake, it's a ways off yet so we'd better keep walking."
After about another half hour of walking we reached a small hill just before the entrance of the Forbidden Forest. Draco stopped and sat down under a tree, patting his lap. "Come sit with me, Jacey."
I sighed deeply and sat about a foot away from him. He eyed me sceptically. "Didn’t mean over there, I meant right here, love."
"That's alright Malferret I'll stay where I am, thank you."
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair then jumped up and plopped down next to me. "That's better. Now, rule number one, you will call me Draco, not Malfoy, Malferret, or Ferret Boy."
"What about Captain Cranky Pants?"
"Uh, no. You may however call me 'Slytherin's sex god." I wanted to laugh so hard that I couldn't get it out fast enough, so instead I let out a loud snort.
Draco looked at me surprised and shocked and laughed. "What was that?" My hand flew immediately to my mouth and I started to laugh as well. Draco smiled at me. I wiped a tear that was running down my cheek. "What are you smiling about, Malfoy?"
"See, it's not completely impossible to enjoy my company, is it?" I bit my lip. He was right, I'd given in, let myself get comfortable around him; I'd let my guard down.
"Well I- I mean you are- Oh shove off, Malfoy!" He wagged his finger in my face. "Ah ah Jacey. It's Draco, remember."
"No come on, I want to hear you say it." I took a deep breath and whispered. "Draco." under my breath. He cupped his ear with his hand and leaned closer.
"Come again?" I groaned loudly as images of me slowly killing him ran through my head. "Draco." He smiled. "There, that wasn't so hard now was it?"
"No." I grumbled under my breath. "So, where was I? Oh yes, rule number two. For the next week, starting tomorrow you will spend your every waking moment with me, except bathroom brakes, then I will wait in the hallway for you, and after curfew."
"What about my friends?"
"My friends will be your friends as well. Rule number three, since, by dating me, you will become Slytherin Royalty so you will be expected to act like it."
"Aye sir." I said, fake saluting him. He just gave me a look and continued talking. "That is all for now. But I do reserve the right to alter, tweak, or add to these rules at any given time without prior notice. Any questions?" I rolled my eyes and laughed, "You know, you should be a lawyer!"
When I finally saw the last of the Hufflepuffs exiting the greenhouses and heading into the castle, I turned to Draco. "Mal- Draco, can we go to dinner now? I'm starving."
"Huh. Oh, just a moment." He looked back down at the book in his hands. "Whatcha readin'?" He snapped the book shut and smirked at me. "Nothing to worry your pretty little head about."
"Fine then, can we at least go to dinner?"
"Sure." He stood up and held out his hand to me, I eyed it cautiously like it could potentially bite me and inject me with immobilizing poison. "What's that for?"
He rolled his eyes. "You know what it's for Jacey, just take it!"
"Fine." I took his hand and he pulled me up, then we walked to the castle in silence.
Just as we reached the front doors, Draco stopped. "Um, I guess I'll leave you here. Enjoy your last night of freedom; I'll see you in the Great Hall for breakfast tomorrow. Say hello to Scarhead for me."
He smirked and walked through the door, leaving me to stare at him in disgust.
I groaned loudly as I trudged into the Great Hall. "Jacey!" Ron shouted as I walked through the door. He ran up to me and grabbed my arm. "Where have you been? We've been worried sick about you all day!"
I made a face as I sat down at the Gryffindor table. "So, where were you?" Harry asked between bites of pot roast. "I could ask you the same thing, flash."
He furrowed his brow and stared at me quizzically. "What?" I shook my head, not being in the mood to explain things to him. "Anyway," Hermione said loudly, bringing Harry’s stares and mine to her.
"Where did you run off to Jacey?" I picked up my fork and pushed around my mashed potatoes. "Uh, I was off with Malfoy, no biggie."
Ron, who had just taken a sip of pumpkin juice, spit it out and it landed on my plate, making my potatoes to go all runny. I pushed my plate away and grimaced. "Okay, I'm not hungry anymore."
"What were you doing with Malfoy?" Harry demanded. "Well Harry, if you must know, we were... talking." Harry snorted. "Must be hard to talk with your mouth full!" He shouted. I slammed down my fork. "What is your problem, Harry?"
"Well, my girlfriend has just spent the whole day alone with Draco Malfoy." Upon hearing the word 'girlfriend' I felt shock race through my body. "G-girlfriend?"
I realised then that almost the entire table was staring at us intently. Harry was quiet for a moment, and looked over at Ron, who nodded mutely. "Well, yeah. You are my girlfriend, aren't you?"
"Um, yeah, yeah I am." He smiled at me and for a moment I lost myself in his smile, then Ron cleared his throat, picked up my knife and fork, and started cutting my turkey. "So Hermione, how was class? What'd I miss?"
"Well Snape yelled at Harry again." Ron said through a mouth of potatoes. "Really what was it for this time?" I asked Harry with a quizzical glance.
"He was late for Potions! AGAIN!" Hermione said. Harry gave her a look. "Again? That reminds me, where were you today? I waited for you at lunch, but you never showed."
"I, uh, had some stuff to do."
"Okay." I didn't know why but I felt that he wasn't telling me the truth, but before I could press him further, Fred and George walked into the Great Hall and sat next to me.
"Hello love." Fred said jovially. "How are you this fine day?" George asked, I smiled at them. "Hello boys! I'm very good today. Where's Carter?"
"Oh, he's probably in the library, he's been spending a lot of time in there lately." I blinked at them. "Carter? In the library? Whatchoo talkin' bout Weasley?"
George opened his mouth to ask me what I was talking about, when Harry cut him off. "Don't even ask Mate, it isn't worth the headache."
"So, what is he doing in there?" I asked them.
Fred shrugged. "I haven't the faintest. He won't tell us."
"Hm, it's not like Carter to keep secrets, especially from you two. I think I'll go talk to him."
I put my hand on George's shoulder. "Thanks for the info boys." They both smiled. "Anytime love." Fred said. "You know where to find us." George added.
I blew a kiss and they both reached out for it. "Hey! That's mine!" Fred yelled. "NO! She blew it for me!" George shouted back. I laughed then I turned to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. "See you in the Common Room."
