A/N: Before we begin, I want to apologize that this story has been updated like, 40 billion times without any new chapters. I am adding Chapter Images, but every time you add one, the chapter is put through validation again. So I’m sorry. But anyway, a new chapter!! More afterwards…

“But where do you reckon she ran off to??” James asked a thoroughly annoyed looking Sirius, trying to finish his dinner.

“I told you I don’t know Prongs, okay? Just let me finish my dinner!” Sirius groaned.

“But what if something bad happened! And why was she looking at me like that?” James protested.

“If you haven’t noticed,” Peter spoke up. “We clearly don’t care about this as much as you do.”

James glared at him. Peter looked terrified and shrank back into his seat. “No, he’s right Prongs.” Sirius agreed, receiving an even darker look from James. “I thought you were ticked at her anyway. Last time I checked you were going to leave her alone for good?”

Looking uncomfortable, James fluffed the back of his hair. “I’m not bothering her!” he said.

Sirius shook his head. “Don’t lie to me. I know you better than you know yourself. You still fancy her, mate. I know it. I saw that little look you gave her. Why don’t you just let it go, mate? She treats you like shit!”

James sighed. “I just can’t stay mad at her.”

Remus rolled his eyes and looked up from the book he was reading. “James, do you know what you have to do?” he asked.

James looked thoughtful for a moment before grinning. “Spike her tea with love potion?”

Remus shook his head forcefully. “No. You need to stop doing stuff like that.” Implying the comment he had just made.

“Like what?!?”

“Like, acting stupid all the time. You need to grow up a bit. Show her you can handle acting responsible. It will make a good impression.” Remus said. “You know she’s bound to be Head Girl next year, correct? So if you start acting mature now, maybe you’ll be able to become Head Boy with her, share a dorm with her, and be in all her classes! This is an ideal opportunity!”

“I thought you wanted to be Head Boy though!” James said surprised.

Remus shrugged. “I’m a prefect. That’s good enough.”

“Come off it! You’ve wanted to be Head Boy since first year!” Sirius exclaimed.

Remus just gave another small shrug and buried himself back into his book without responding. James and Sirius exchanged knowing glances. There was no way Remus would be willing to give up his chance to become Head Boy for anything.

After dinner, James headed down to the pitch for quiddich practice. Sirius decided to corner Remus in the common room for interrogation. “So, Moony. Feel like explaining?”

“Not really.” Remus said, still immersed in his book.

“Why not? I’m not going to tell anyone!” Sirius begged.

“Only James! You tell him everything.” Remus replied.

“Okay, okay.” Sirius said. “I won’t tell him. I promise. I just want to know!” Looking around, he turned to Peter. “Beat it Wormtail! Moony and I have important affairs to discuss. So scram!” he demanded.

Peter gave a jump and a squeak and ran out of the common room, receiving many quizzical glances.

Remus sighed and set down his book. “You have to swear on your grave you won’t tell!” he pressed. Sirius nodded. “Why the hell am I telling you this? Okay fine. I feel like I owe it to James.”

“Why?”

“Because, well. I did something bad Padfoot. Well, not even. I didn’t even do anything! I just kinda thought something bad. Well, not even thought, because as soon as I thought it I felt guilty! But I still think it, and I shouldn’t and James is going to hate me for it, so I decided I owe it to him to let him be Head Boy. And if I end up getting it, I’ll turn it down, and tell Dumbledore to give it to James.” Remus said nervously.

“Wow. Thanks for clearing that up Moony!” Sirius said sarcastically.

“Fine!” Remus said loudly. “I like Lily! Okay? Happy!” he hissed, thrusting his book back up to his face.

Sirius stood there in momentary shock. “W-What?” he stuttered.

“You heard me.” Remus mumbled.

“Oh no! Moony! Why? This is bad. This is very very bad! If Prongs finds out he is so going to kill you!” Sirius rambled, pacing back and forth and wringing his hands.

“Don’t you think I realize that?!?” Remus yelled. “It’s not like I’m going to do anything, but I know I let him down. I didn’t want it to happen like this!”

“Well,” Sirius said biting his lower lip. “The only thing left to do is keep James from ever hearing about this.”

As if on cue, James walked in at this moment, broomstick slung across his shoulder. “Hey! What’s up?” He said, walking over to Remus and Sirius.

“Erm, nothing! Absolutely nothing. How was practice?” Sirius replied quickly.

James looked from Remus to Sirius. Remus appeared to be avoiding his gaze, and Sirius was fidgeting like a madman. “Umm….ggreeeaattt. I’m going to go get cleaned up now. I’ll talk to you guys later.” He said, shooting Sirius a curious look.

15 minutes later, James returned to the common room to find Remus gone and Sirius sitting silently, looking at the fire. “So...what’s going on?” James asked him, taking a seat to his left.

Sirius jumped. “Nothing!” he said, a little too quickly. “Remus is in the library. That’s what’s going on!” he tried again, trying to sound calm.

“C’mon Padfoot! You know you want to tell me!” James pressured him. Sirius clamped his hand over his mouth and shook his head vigorously. “Padfoot!” James scolded seriously. “If you don’t tell me now, I’m going to have to force it out of you.”

Sirius eyes widened. “You wouldn’t dare!” he challenged.

“I would!” James said. “Mr. Teddykins.”

“NOO!! Not Mr. Teddykins! Please James! Anything but that.” Sirius pled.

James smiled evilly. “I won’t have to if you tell me!”

“I can’t!!” Sirius whined.

“Okay then.” He paused, then leapt off the couch and bounded up the dormitory stair.

“NOO!! JAMES!! COME BACK!!” Sirius yelled desperately, running after him. He burst through the door to find James holding his beloved teddy bear, a sinister grin on his face. “James. Set the bear down!

“Not until you tell me!” James taunted pulling out his wand and pointing it towards the bear.

Sirius gasped. “No!! Don’t! Please!”

“It’s either the bear or the secret! Your choice.” Said James.

Sirius bit his lip, trying desperately to create a plan.

“One….” James began, “two….two and a half….c’mon Padfoot, you have until three….two and three quarters…TH---“

“NOOO!!” Sirius stopped him. “Don’t kill him James! I’ll talk. But you aren’t going to like what you’re going to hear!” he warned.

“Try me.” James said.

“Put the bear down first.” Sirius ordered.

James sighed, but nevertheless set the bear gingerly on his bed. “Okay he’s down. Now talk.”

A/N: AHHH! A CLIFFIE!! MWHAHAHAHAHA!!
