Harry Potter walked up to the door of the Burrow and knocked. As he stood there the wind whipped his already messy black hair around. The door opened to reveal a brown haired girl holding a red-haired baby boy in her arms.

“Harry! I am so glad you could make it for dinner tonight!” The girl gave him a sisterly kiss on the cheek.

“Hey Hermione!” he looked at the little boy and said, “Hey Henry” he put his hand on the baby’s hair and messed up his hair. Henry cooed. Harry smiled and walked inside. He followed Hermione into the living room where his best friend was sitting on the couch.

“Ron! Harry’s here!” She snapped, causing him to look up at Harry.

“Hey, mate.” Ron said, getting up and giving Harry a pat on the back.

“I have to go finish dinner.” Hermione said leaving the boys alone.

“I’m sorry Ginny’s not here tonight. She had to work late shift.”

Harry swallowed. “I’m kinda glad she isn’t here.” He said

“Why? You and her have problems?” Ron asked.

“No. We’re fine. I just wanted to talk to you and Hermione alone without her….. Well mainly you.” Harry answered. Before Ron could open his mouth Hermione called in to the living room.

At the table they talked about work and other things in life. It seemed that dinner passed quickly. Way too quickly for Harry’s liking. After dessert they moved into the living room.

“Now Harry,” Ron finally spoke up. “What did you want to talk to me and Hermione about?” Harry paled a bit. He opened your mouth to speak but closed it again.

“Harry?” Hermione asked. Harry looked around and finally said.

“Ron…Hermione… you know how much I love Ginny… right?” They both nodded.

“And you know I would never hurt her right?” Again they nodded.

“Iwannaaskginnytomarryme.” Harry said rather quickly. Both of them looked quite confused at what he just said.

“Pardon?” Hermione asked.

“I wanna ask Ginny to marry me but I wanted to ask you first?” Harry waited for the blow that never came.

“Eeeeekkkkk. Harry that’s wonderful!!” Hermione ran to Harry and practically squished him in a hug. He looked at Ron who was smiling.

“Smiling is a good thing right?”

“Very good thing. I knew ever since that day in the common room that you two were made for each other. I was actually beginning to wonder about when you were going to tell us that you were going to ask her.”

The guys chuckled. Ron chuckled out of happiness and Harry out of relief. They talked for a little longer before Harry decided he had better leave. When at the door Hermione pulled him back.

“How are you going to ask her?”

“Uh…” He hadn’t really thought that far. He had really just wanted to get this night over with before he went any further. “To tell you the truth Hermione, I don’t know. I’m not sure exactly what to do. I mean it should be romantic….right?”

Hermione stared at him with a blank look.

“Come on Harry Ron wasn’t even that daft about what to do. Come by during the day next Tuesday and I’ll help you out a bit. Ok?”

“Ok. Hermione thanks you’re a lifesaver.” Hermione shut the door as Harry apperated out. As she sat down Ron looked at her and shook his head.

“You told him to come by in a few days so you can help him find a romantic place for the date. Am I right?”

Hermione looked from behind the Daily Prophet she was reading and smiled, “Of course.”

“Thought so.”

Harry arrived at the Burrow at noon and was immediately met by Hermione. She was grinning from ear to ear. Hermione grabbed him and pulled him into the house, dragging him down the hallway into the kitchen. Harry’s mouth dropped when he saw the table covered with all kinds of magazines.

“Hermione what are all these…. things?” Harry asked picking up a magazine of Witch Weekly which on the front read Top 10 Places for Your Guy to Purpose and Ways to Hint You Want to Tie the Knot.
“These are your personal helpers. Here there are magazines to shop for rings, romantic spots to purpose, and everything else you need.”

“Well you can knock out all of the magazines with rings to buy. I already have the ring.” Hermione’s eyes lit up as she heard him say this.

“Really let me see it.” Harry rolled his eyes and pulled a small black velvet box out of his pocket. He opened it and inside was a silver banded elegant single diamond ring.

“Harry its beautiful! She’ll love it! Where in the world did you get it?”

“I found it in the rubble at Godric’s Hollow with a note in the top. It read to my darling Lily. It was my mum’s engagement ring from my dad.” Hermione gasped.

“That’s perfect!” She said happily as she waved her wands and 1/3 of the books disappeared. “Well when do you want to purpose?”

“Uh…. As soon as possible.” Hermione looked out side.

“Well since it is the 15th of January and cold here. It might be smart to do it somewhere else.” Harry raised an eyebrow as Hermione threw a couple books at him. She flipped a few pages and smiled.

“Apperate to Hawaii!” Harry looked at Hermione like she was crazy. “Harry I’m not kidding. Ginny has always talked about wanting to go somewhere tropical. Take her to Hawaii.”

Harry thought about it. It was a romantic place and it was logical.

“Ok why not?” Hermione smiled

“I knew you’d see it my way.”

Ginny paced back and forth in her flat. She didn’t know what but something was wrong. Harry had been avoiding her for the last week, Hermione was silent when Harry and her had been together and Ron wouldn’t stop looking form each of the two and smiling. Everyone knew something she didn’t,

Ginny sat down on her bed in a huff as she saw Hedwig fly though the window and landed on the bed. She had a letter tied to her leg. Ginny untied it and Hedwig flew over to the owl perch and drank from the water dish. Ginny opened the letter and saw Harry’s writing.

                                                        Dear Ginny,
Tonight is our night. I will pick you up at 6:00pm.
                                                         I love you
                                                        Love Harry
P.S Wear something good for the beach.
Ginny read the letter twice. Their night? What did that mean? She looked at the clock and saw it said 12:35. 5 ½ hours, she thought. She walked over to fireplace and flooed to the Burrow.

“Hermione! Hermione?” She called. Hermione came walking in.

“What’s wrong Ginny?” Hermione asked.

“I need advice.”

“Sit down.” She motioned for Ginny to sit. “Now advice for what?”

“Harry sent me this.” She thrust the note in Hermione’s hands. Hermione read the note.

“So what’s wrong?”

“He’s been acting weird for the last week and I am scared about what our night means.”

“It means that Harry is going to make it a special night.”

“How do you know?” She asked. Hermione thought fast.

“Ron wrote me almost the same note after we had a fight. I’m sure everything is fine.” Ginny smiled

“Thanks Hermione. What does wear something cool for the beach mean though?”

“Wear a cool dress so you won’t get to hot of uncomfortable. Also most likely he’s taking you to the beach.”

“Ok Hermione. Thanks.” Ginny hugged her sister-in-law and flooed back to her apartment.

At 5:55 Ginny was just finishing putting on her makeup. She had picked, after hours, a dark blue dress with white flowers all over it. It was a Hawaiian print that she loved. It went down to about halfway between her knees and ankles. On her feet she wore some blue flip-flops. She pinned the bracelet with blue teardrops around it, on her right wrist, and a similar blue necklace with only one teardrop on it, around her neck.

A knock on her door came and she looked at her clock. 6:00 right on time. She thought. She opened the door and saw Harry in a light yellow polo shirt and some khaki pants.

“Hi Gin.” Harry leaned in and gave her slight kiss on the lips.

“Hi Harry.”

“Ready to go?” He asked nervously hoping she wouldn’t notice. She didn’t

“Ya.” She walked out of the door and shut it behind her. She turned around and locked it. Before she could turn back around Harry slipped his arms around her waist.

“Can’t look.” He whispered putting one of his hands over her eyes but keeping the other around her waist. She felt them apperate. When they arrived she felt the sand on her feet. Harry removed his hand and she opened her eyes. She gasped when she saw what was in front of her.

They were standing, in a small secluded cove, on the beach. A small blanket lay on the sand just far enough from the water so it wouldn’t get wet. Lit, around it, placed at each corner, were what she recognized as Tiki torches. On the blanket she saw a basket with some food in it. The sun was just setting.

“Welcome to Hawaii.” Harry whispered in her ear.

Ginny and Harry ate and watched the sunset together. Ginny couldn’t remember when she had a better night.

“Hey Gin? Want to take a walk?” By now the sun had set and the stars and moon were out brightly.

“Sure.” They both got up and began walking. Harry slipped an arm around her waist and Ginny did the same.

“Ginny I have to tell you the real reason I brought you here tonight.” Harry turned to Ginny. The moonlight shined on his face and she saw he was smiling.

“What is it Harry?” She asked. She watched as Harry pulled a small black box from his pocket. Her eyes went wide as he dropped one his knee.

“Ginny Weasley, Love of my life, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

Ginny gasped as Harry opend the box. As Harry slipped the ring on her finger she could only think of one word.

“Yes. “

A/N: My friends kept telling me to rewrite it and make it more romantic. So I did. Romance is not my best thing to write. Review and tell me how I did. The Sequal is called ' Wishing The day will never end' .
