Whiskey Lullaby

Ginny sat in her room thinking. She found herself doing that alot, ever since Harry had moved away far away from everyone, after he killed Him.

Ginny walked over to her closet and pulled a bottle of whiskey from its hiding place. This was her way of getting to sleep now. She downed a couple of bottles then felt herself apprating. Arriving at a door she knocked, knowing Harry was behind the door somehow.

Harry got up to answer the door. It had to be one of his friends or family otherwise they wouldn't be allowed by the door. Opening the door, he found the youngest Weasley.

"Hiya Harry." Ginny said slurring just a bit.

"Ginny?" Harry said in disbelife.

Ginny started dancing in the hallway, humming to herself.

"Ginny are you drunk?" He asked opening the door wider.

"I dont know..." Ginny said trying to remember while Harry handed her a sobering potion.

Ginny looked at the potion like it was more alcohol.

"Ginny its not poision." Harry said smiling slightly.

"Oi! Leave me alone."

"You came to me Gin."

He called me Gin!

"Ginny..." Harry sighed, "Why where you drinking?" He asked.

"Its just....I'm all alone...and..." Ginny stopped herself.

"And what?" Harry asked kindly.

"Nothing." She replied.

"Gin." He sighed. "Wait alone? What do you mean?" Ginny crossed her arms.

"Ron and Hermione have each other like Luna and Neville. And I..have no one..." Ginny whispered.

"You have me." Harry said quietly.

Ginny shoke her head.

"Yes you do, now why did you come here?"

"Because I didn't want to go home."

"Why?" Harry reached out to steady her as she wobbled a little.

When he did he felt a spark and was sure Ginny did too.

"I'd be all alone. Now, I'll just go then." Ginny handed the undrunken potion back to Harry.

Harry grabbed he wrist. "Where do you think your going."

Ginny turned facing him again. "Home."

"Not in this state, expecially at night in...." Harry looked at Ginny's choice of wardrobe. "those."

"What wrong with these?"

"Ginny..." Harry sighed, then relized he was still holding Ginny's wrists.

He let go to his displeasure. Ginny watched her hand fall.

Ginny started slowly dancing again this time singing. Harry listen trying to hear the words. His heart sunk as he finally heard her.

He put her out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
He broke her heart she spent her whole life tryin' to forget
We watched her drink her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love him till I die
And when we buried her beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

Harry reached out and grabbed Ginny by the shoulders, shaking her.
"Ginny No! No! NO!" Harry couldn't stop himself.

Ginny started stopped singing, but started crying.

Harry started singing then.

The rumors flew but nobody knew how much he blamed himself
For years and years he tried to hide the whiskey on his breath
He finally drank his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off her knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
Clinging to her picture for dear life
We laid him next to her beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

As Harry ended the song the looked each other straight in the eyes.
They began singing together. Perfect harmony.

La la la la la la la la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la la la la la la la

As the song ended they got softer.

Ginny looked up into Harry's green eyes. Tears were about to fall in both their eyes. They wouldn't...couldn't look away. Two tears fell.

"I love you." Ginny whispered as she turned to go. Harry reached out and grabbed her wrist.

"Harry please let go." Ginny asked softly.

When Harry didn't she looked up.

"I'm afraid to let you go." He whispered.

Ginny handed him a picture of herself.

"Use this picture." She whispered.

Harry shook his head. "I'm not letting go."

Ginny shrugged and apprated away. Fast as lightning Hary followed. He got there just as Ginny was pulling out her gun.

"Ginny no, please." Harry cried. "I cant live without you."

Ginny stopped and lowered the gun from her head.

"Ginny I'm tired of trying to drinking everything away, tired of hiding everything. Please dont, I cant live without you."

"The angels sang a whiskey lullaby." Ginny whispered humming the tune.

Harry joined her walking up to her, throwing the gun onto the bed, and wrapping his arms around her.

"Ginny...I love you."

They looked at each others tear stained face and Ginny smiled a very small sad smile before whispering, "No more whiskey lullabys."
