“A ride?!” Draco said, surprised.

“Well, since you can’t walk, would you like to take a ride? Daddy keeps a broomstick out back.”

“Oh, that’s what you meant.” Draco said, a slight blush forming on his pale cheeks. “Yeah, sure. Why not?” He said, giving her a small smile. And as if inspired, Luna jumped up.

“Be right back!” And she was off.

“Lord.” Draco said, sighing. There was something special about Lovegood. Luna. Something he could quite put his finger on. It was as if she was a completely different person. Well, not entirely. She was still quite dreamy, and very honest. But, there was color in her voice, and she seemed unbothered by the world. More so than usual. Actually, she was acting a lot as if she was in love.

“Weasley.” Draco said, laughing to himself. There was no other explanation. Was there?

“Come on Draco!” Luna squeaked. She ran over to him and helped him to his feet. They both hobbles over towards the door, and they were able to make it out the front door quite quickly, thanks to the fact that Luna was basically carrying him.

“Come on now, hop on.” Luna said, throwing herself on the broom. Draco was able to get on the broom, and clung to Luna, feeling a bit silly. Wasn’t the guy supposed to be in the front, and the girl holding onto him?

“Relax Draco, you’re gripping my shirt.” Luna said smoothly. Blushing, Draco let go slightly. Holding on to dear life, Luna shot from the ground.

“Wow.” Draco whispered as they flew above the house. He knew it didn’t take much to fly a broom, but he could help thinking if Luna played any Quidditch when no one was watching. She was gentle with her turns, and she seemed to fly with ease.

“Isn’t it beautiful?” Luna said, hovering just above the tallest tree in town. It was a perfect view of the sunset.

“Yeah.” Draco said, a smile playing on his lips. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt so calm, or happy. But of course, it could never last.

“LOOK! LOOK UP!” Draco heard a voice scream from below. Slowly recognizing who was beneath him, he let the horror sink in.

“Luna?” Draco breathed.

“I see them.” She replied, not a trace of fear in her voice. Without another word she shot off, echoing the sounds of the stunning spell.

“First of all, you’re an amazing flyer” Draco gasped, as they landed in a dark forest, many miles away from Luna’s home. “Second, I’m really sorry.”

“Don’t be silly. I got myself into it.” Luna said, sitting down against a tree. “And I intend to help you get out as well.”

“Oh?” Draco said, taking a seat next to her. “Why? I mean, I’ve never been nice to you.”

“I don’t know Draco, lately you’ve been fairly pleasant.”

“How do you know its not just because I’m hurt and I need your help?” Draco said, smiling flirtatiously at Luna. Wait. Was he flirting?

For a moment, a flicker of hesitation crossed Luna’s eyes. But then she smiled and said “You wouldn’t do that.”

“I wouldn’t?” Draco asked, stunned. Of course he would! Well, maybe not now, but a few months ago, definitely.

“You’re ridiculous.” Luna said, closing her eyes. But Draco could see the small smile tingling across her lips. He loved the way she smiled shyly, so he could barely see. He loved the way her eyes closed and glistened in the sun.

“Draco, what are you smiling at?” Luna said, sitting up and looking at Draco.

“N-nothing. Nothing.” Draco said, a tinge of pink framing his pale cheeks. He turned his head and coughed slightly.

“So…what now?” Luna said, a new emotion coming into her voice. Draco immediately recognized it. Worry. “I mean, how can I take care of you in the forest? What if they take you while I fall asleep? Can we get you to some sort of hospital? I don’t know anyone in the Muggle word.”

“I don’t –” Wait. Was she worried about him?

“Luna, don’t worry so much about me!” Draco exclaimed, standing up. “You’re the one I’M worried about! Come on girl, think about yourself for a change!”

“Why are you yelling at me?” Luna asked quietly, tears filling her eyes.

“Nonononono, I didn’t mean to yell. I’m sorry.” Draco said, crouching in front of her. “All I’m saying is…is…” Draco’s voice grew faint as he realized what he was doing. His face was getting closer and closer to Luna’s. “I –” was all he got out before his lips met with hers. Realizing what he had done, he smiled instead of pull away. Finally parting from her, he quickly thought of what to say. Knowing what was in store for them, and ignoring the fact that these few words could lead to both of their deaths, he softly whispered “Luna, I’m falling in love with you.”

Sorry this one's shorter than normal, but it's more of a filler chapter. I hope you liked it anyway!
