A/N: This is chapter five. I'd like to thank all of those people who've revwied so far. Your word make me happy. I'm writing chapter eight at the moment, so the next few chapters should be up quickly. And, please reveiw.

When they were in the common room a few nights later, Hermione told the boys and Ginny that she was going to the room of requirements to practise, something she hadn’t done for a while because they were worked extra hard in class.

“Oh yes, going to hold onto Malfoy more are you?” Ron hissed.

“What are you talking about?” Hermione asked.

“I saw you in class last week,” Ron said quietly. “You couldn’t keep your hand off the slimy git. You were holding onto his uniform as if your life depended on it.”

“Earth to Ron, my life did depend on it. Just stay away from me and quit watching me. Alright?”

Ron glared at Hermione and she shook her head. Grabbing her bag, she headed
over to the room or requirements.

“Hey,” she said angrily as she saw Draco there. “What are you doing?”

“Er, practising. What’s up with you Hermione?” Draco asked.

“Sorry, I’m just annoyed at Ron,” Hermione answered. “Let’s just go and practise.
What should we do?”

“I’m tired, so let’s just do basics and combos today.”

Hermione sighed and nodded, and then they started.

“Why do you think they added Karate to the school Draco?” Hermione asked when
they were taking a break.

“I read somewhere that lots of young witches and wizards are getting really fat, so they’re adding sport into the school. I’m glad it was Karate. You’re not the type of person I thought would do Karate.”

“I’m also not the type of person you’d think would play netball and basketball.” Hermione laughed.

Draco grinned and stood up.

“Sparring?” He suggested brightly.

Hermione grinned and stood up. After another 15 minutes Hermione went back to her common room.

“What’s up ‘Mione?” Ginny asked.

“Nothing.” Hermione said.

“No, something’s different about you. So spill.”

“I just had the best fight ever.”

“You mean you didn’t end up on the ground?”

“No you nitwit, I just fought off 2 Slytherins in two minutes.”

“Who?” Harry asked, coming over to them.

“Parkinson and Nott.” Hermione answered.

“Cool, I so wish I was as good as you.”

“You will be, one day.”

Harry nodded and went back to Ron.

“So why did you have to fight off Parkinson and Nott?” Ginny asked.

“Oh, I was practising with Draco and were walking down to the kitchens. Draco
went in while I hung outside. They came up to me and started threatening me.”

“Um, ‘Mione, why did you call Malfoy, Draco?”

“’Cause he’s my friend. Anyway, they tried o beat me up and I flattened them.
That’s basically what happened.”

“Cool. I really wish I could fight.”

Hermione shrugged. “Do you want to come to the tournament? The whole class is
coming, but Sensei said we could invite one friend each. So, do you want to?”

“Um, yeah, sure. I’d love to.”

Hermione grinned and stood up. “I’m going to the library to finish my homework
and then I’m going to bed. Night.”

“Night ‘Mione.” The three said as Hermione grabbed her book bag and walked
down to the library.

She sat at a table and started writing her essay for transfiguration that had been
assigned that day. After finishing that, she started on her potions essay. Getting
up, she walked over to the potions section to look for a book.

As she reached up, she heard a voice behind her. “Hello Hermione.”

Hermione turned around and was caught in a deep kiss. After a minute, the man
let go and Hermione looked up to see Draco Malfoy standing in front of her, half
smiling, half smirking.

“Hello Draco,” Hermione said, smirking back, thoughts running through her head a mille a minute. “What are you doing in the library at this

“If I told you I’d have to kill you.”

Hermione grinned as shook her head, laughing. “Really, tell, why does it seem as if
you’re following me?”

“Maybe I am.”

“Of course, and I’m best friends with Umbridge.”

Draco grinned and shrugged. “I have to finish the essay for potions. I’m guessing
you left it till last minute too?”

Draco nodded and continued looking for a book.

'Why did he kiss me?' Hermione thought. 'I mean, he's like, the most wanted guy in school, and I'm nobody. Why on Earth would he kiss ME? But I can't say I hated it. OMG!!! I'm totally crushing on Draco! Am I betraying and Ron byt liking him?'

"Hey, Hermione." Draco said, waving his hand in front of Hermione's face. Hermione snapped out of her thoughts and faced Draco.

"Are you alright? You seemed a little, wierd."

"Yeah. I'm fine. Just, thinking."

"Alright." DRaco nodded and turned back.

Just as Draco turned to leave, Hermione knew this was her chance.

“Hey, Draco.” Hermione said quietly.

Draco turned and Hermione caught his lips in another kiss. Reluctantly, she pulled

“I’ll see you in class tomorrow.” She said, and turned to leave.

Potions was first the next morning.

“I have decided to assign new partners,” Snape bellowed as he swept into the
room. “You will work with your partner on all assignments, potions and anything
else in the class. Now, I want Potter paired with Nott,” Harry sighed and moved
over to the other side, glaring at the Slytherin who he was to be sitting next
to. “Weasley and Parkinson,” Snape continued. “Brown and Crabbe, Thomas and
Zabini, Patil and Goyle, Malfoy and Granger.”

Hermione picked up her stuff and moved to sit next to Draco while the last few
pairs were read out.

“I guess it could have been worse.” Hermione said as she unpacked her stuff.

“You mean you don’t want to be paired with me?” Draco asked, offended.

“Well, you’re smart, so I guess it’s not that bad.”

Draco rolled his eyes. “You didn’t seem to have a problem with me last night now
did you?”

Hermione blushed and started making the potion they had been assigned.

The two barely said a word to each other the whole class, and rushed out when
the bell to signal second class rang.

“Hey, what was up with you in Potions?” Ron asked, sitting down next to Hermione
when he and Harry arrived in charms.

“Yeah, you seemed kind of off.” Harry added.

“Oh, I’m just not feeling the greatest. That’s all.”

“It’s not Malfoy is it? ‘Cause if it is, we can beat him up for you.” Ron offered.

“No Ron, Draco and I are friends. Besides, how am I going to win the tournament
without him?”

“Y-you’re friends?” Ron gasped.

“Yes Ron. Friends. Do you or Harry have a problem with that?”

Harry shrugged while Ron’s face went red.

“How can you be friends with that slimy little git?” He screamed.

Hermione shrugged and was silent for the rest of the class.
