The Marauders and Lily made their way down to the Great Hall after a restful night in the Room of Requirement. Not! Everyone had a reason to feel tired. James had actually been up for most of the night, watching Lily sleep. Or try to anyways. Lily, who had been tired to begin with, couldn't just fall asleep in a room alone with the Marauders, especially James. There were many reasons not to trust sleeping in the same room with three boys. Sirius had been snoring, which annoyed Remus enough to smack Sirius repeatedly during the night which caused Sirius to wake up. It was a long night but they made it through.

It ended up being Sirius who dragged them all out of bed for breakfast. His schedule revolved around breakfast, lunch, and dinner so they made it to the Great Hall pretty early. "I'm starved!" he exclaimed and hungrily began to pile his plate high with food.

Lily looked on in disgust and glanced at James's equally filled plate before turning to Remus. "Where do they put it all?"

Remus took a look at their plates and merely shrugged. "To be honest, I really don't know," he told her and took a sip of orange juice.

Some students began to stare at these strange students that now sat among the Gryffindors and caused a few whispers to start, which Dumbledore took as his cue to introduce the new 'transfer' students to the school. He stood and all attention fell upon him. "As I'm sure some of you have noticed, we have some new students with us this year."

Sirius began to stand up on the table to greet his fellow students but Lily quickly pulled him back down. The last thing they needed was attention.

Dumbledore couldn't help but smile. "I would like you all to make them feel at home here as they will probably be with us for the rest of the year," he told them all. His eyes passed over the Gryffindor table and the Slytherin table. "And will the Head Boy and Girl please meet with our new students after breakfast? I think they might need a tour of the castle."

James, Sirius, and Remus exchanged glances and a grin. The Marauders needing a tour of the castle? Please! They were the ones who should be giving the tour. But a sigh escaped them .They had no choice in the matter though.

After Dumbledore sat down the Marauders turned back to their meal, chatting happily. When they finished they stood up, fully intending to spend their Sunday playing a few pranks, but Lily pulled them back down. "We have to wait for the tour" she hissed.

"Unfortunately" a sly voice came from behind them.

The four turned to see a pale boy sneering down at them. His hair was slicked back on his head like a shining white helmet and his cold iron eyes pierced into them with disgust.

"Shove it, Malfoy" a girl shot back at him, joining him at the Marauders table.

She smiled down at them through her bushy brown hair and held out her hand to each in turn.

"Hi, I'm Hermione Granger, Headgirl. And this is Draco Malfoy, Headboy. But don't mind him. He'll just be tagging along on the tour, pouting the whole way"

Two more Gryffindors walked up to Hermione's side, ignoring everyone around them.

A tall boy with fiery red hair and freckles spoke to her. "Hermione, Harry and I are going out to the pitch. Come find us when you're done and we do something"

Hermione nodded her head and the two walked away. But all eyes were on the mute boy. None of the Marauders or Lily could fail to notice the resemblance between the black-haired boy and James and all were too shocked to look away.

"Er..." Hermione began awkwardly. The four students snapped out of their reverie and turned to look at her with blank expressions. "Shall we?"

Lily nodded, "Oh yes! Let's go boys!" she said urgently, tugging on James's arm and climbing out of her seat to follow Hermione and Malfoy.

Hermione walked determinedly into the Great Hall with a scowling Malfoy slinking after her. Once there she turned around and smiled at the "Transfers". "Would you like to see the grounds or the castle first?" she asked pleasantly.

Before anyone could answer Malfoy spoke up.

"Dungeons" he hissed and strode away quickly.

Hermione glared after him then turned to the others, smiling. "Dungeons then" she said, and gestured to the door Malfoy had left through. They filed through the doorway and walked in a group, a few strides behind Malfoy, Hermione talking non-stop.

"This is the main entrance to the dungeons. There are many more. Too many to count. The only thing you'll really ever go down here for is Potions. Professor Snape likes the dank, dark, and dreary" she explained.

Sirius and James snorted with laughter. "You mean that git actually became a teacher?" asked Sirius incredulously.

"Amazing," agreed James.

This, of course, got them a smack in the back of the head by Lily.

Malfoy spun around with a hideous sneer distorting his face. "Twenty points from Gryffindor for insulting a Professor" he snapped. Then turned back around and continued walking.

Hermione scowled after him but knew he was right, even if he did take too many points. She shook her head angrily and turned back to the students. "You know Professor Snape?" she asked curiously.

The four exchanged worried glances. "Um.....their parents knew him from a while back," said Lily quickly and pointed to James and Sirius, who nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. We never really liked him," added James and swung an arm around Lily's waist. He leaned in close to whisper in her ear, "Nice save, Evans."

Lily scowled and removed his arm with a quick, "Don't touch me."

Hermione smiled appreciatively at Lily then turned to James and Sirius. "Are you pure blood?" she asked with a hint of disgust. "Who're your parents?"

James nodded and glanced at the others with a worried expression. "Um.....well, me and Madden are," he said, taking care to use Sirius's new name. "We don't believe in that pure blood rubbish though. That's for nutters like Voldemort and his lot."

Hermione beamed. "Well said!" she commented. Then added to Sirius. "Madden, that's an unusual name."

Sirius grinned and nodded. "Indeed it is." He threw his arms around James and Remus. He would have gotten Lily too but she looked a little angry still about James touching her. "We're an unusual lot though," he told her.

A scoff could be heard from up ahead but Hermione ignored it. "What are the rest of your names?" she asked curiously.

Remus decided he would start them off. "Well, I'm Bade, half blood." She might have cared about that.

James nodded. "I'm Hart," he introduced with a little bow.

"And I'm Clover, muggle-born," added Lily. She had gotten over James touching her. For now.....

Hermione was about to say something to Lily but was interrupted, once more, by Malfoy.

"Oh, bloody Hell!" he cried. "Another one?"

"Another what, exactly, Malfoy?" Hermione spat.

"Don't you talk to me like that, Mudblood! Five points from Gryffindor -" Malfoy glanced in disgust at Lily. "And another five from the new girl for being a Mudblood as well!"

James had his wand out and pointed at Malfoy's throat faster than you could say 'Quidditch'. "Apologize to them. Now," he said in a quiet, yet deadly, voice. No one insulted Lily in front of him. Or any other muggle-borns for that matter.

Sirius would have jumped in but this was James's thing. Defend Lily at all costs.

Malfoy retaliated as fast as James. His wand too, was pulled and he and James stood in ready position, glaring at each other in silence.

Hermione was the first to interrupt

"Malfoy, put your wand away! You're Headboy, you should know better then that!" she turned to James. "Hart, you should know, we don't tolerate using magic in the corridors. Please put your wand away or I'll be forced to take points." She turned back to Malfoy. "Malfoy, maybe you should go. I'll be telling the Headmaster of what occurred here today."

Malfoy turned to Hermione, sneering. "Oh please, Granger. No one is buying your goody-good act. Just give it up!" Then he turned on his heel and stormed away.

James glared at Malfoy's retreating form until he had finally disappeared. He turned to Hermione with an angered look on his face. "Why didn't you let me hex the little weasel?" he snapped. James was not a happy person at the moment. "He already deserves it for being a bloody Slytherin!"

Lily glared at James and rapped him in the back of the head. "You're never going to learn, are you? You can't just go around hexing people because you bloody well feel like it," she hissed. "And I can take care of myself, thanks. I don't need you to protect me!"

Hermione looked between the two skeptically then asked: "How do you know about Slytherins?"

"We've heard a few rumors about them," said Remus loudly, hoping James and Lily would get the message and shut up. But they were long gone by now.

"Then you should be the one holding the wand to their throats whenever they call you that!" exclaimed James.

Lily rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hips. "I don't need my wand to protect myself! It doesn't bother me anymore so it shouldn't bother you. Just mind your own bloody business!

Remus sighed and shook his head sadly. "Ignore them please," he said to Hermione.

"It's usual," added Sirius with a nod.

Hermione looked worriedly between the arguing couple but then nodded to Sirius and Remus and clapped her hands together cheerfully. "What say we head upstairs now?"

Remus was about to say something but Sirius cut in. "Can we go to the Quidditch Pitch?" he asked excitedly. "I haven't gone flying in ages!"

Hermione looked slightly crestfallen. "Oh...sure. I guess I'll just find something else to do until you're done. I don't really like flying" she said, forcing cheerfulness.

Sirius grinned and looked back to James and Lily, who were still going at it. "Hey Pr....Um.....Hart! That's the one! We're going out to the pitch!" he exclaimed.

James glanced up from his argument with Lily and forgot about it the moment he heard the word 'pitch'. "We are? Brilliant!" he agreed. He offered Lily a heart-melting smile and a pat on the head. "Maybe later, love," he said cheekily before grabbing Sirius and Remus by the wrists and dragging them down the corridor towards the Pitch, forgetting that they shouldn't even know where they were.
