The next morning at breakfast, Pansy steered clear of Draco. Scarlett was clinging to Harry as usual but he was obviously not happy. Alex put on a brave face when she was with Draco but was secretly wishing she was with Harry.

After breakfast, they all proceeded to their classes. Alex and Draco, as well as Harry, Scarlett, and some others headed to Charms. Draco was chatting with Blaise while his arm rested on Alex's waist. Harry and Scarlet walked by slowly and deliberately.

"Harry, you'll come to the common room tonight after the feast right? Becky said she was getting some fire whiskey and some other people are bringing beers. There's going to be quite a few people there, I'd hate to have you miss it," Scarlett said as they walked by, loud enough for Alex, Draco and Blaise to hear.

"What a coincidence. I was just about to ask you to come to our little get together tonight." Blaise said lightly to Alex as Scarlett and Harry passes.

"I don't know. I was thinking about staying in tonight," Alex said, shrugging her shoulders slightly.

"You have to come, Alex. It's Halloween." Draco pleaded, squeezing her waist a little.

"Well, Padma will probably want me to stay with her for a while in my common room..." she paused, considering her options while the two boys looked at her intently. "But I guess I could stop by later." she finally decided.

"Awesome. I'm sure our common room will be more fun anyway." Blaise replied. Draco looked at Alex and smiled. She smiled back and let him kiss her cheek.

"Good morning class" Professor Flitwick, who had just walked in, announced. All the students moved to their seats and sat down. Professor Flitwick flicked his wand at the chalkboard and notes appeared. There was rustling for parchment and quills as the class began.

The feast was at six thirty. Alex sat positioned towards the Slytherin table as she ate so she could see Draco. They smiled at each other every few minutes and talked with their eyes. Alex peered down the table to Scarlett and Becky who were gossiping loudly to each other. She felt a pair of eyes on her and looked across the room to where she thought the gaze was coming from. Nobody caught her eye so she shrugged, going back to her dinner.

When the noise was beginning to rise and the plates were shining clean again, all the students were dismissed. Alex got up and walked out of the Great Hall along with the rest of the school. Two arms snaked around her waist and she stopped walking for a moment.

"Hello, Draco." she said smoothly. She wanted to turn around to face him but the crowd was forcing her to move forward. Instead she grabbed his hand and laced his fingers with hers. Once they were out of the Great Hall, Draco pulled her into an alcove next to the staircase. It was kind of dark and secluded. He pulled her to him and gave her a lustful kiss.

"Can't you just come to my common room now?" he asked her in between kisses. He moved his lips down her jawline and began to kiss her neck.

"Draco.. I promised Padma that I would stay with her for a little while," she said as she ran a hand through his hair. He had resumed kissing her lips. After a few minutes, she reluctantly pulled away. "I need to go change," she whispered, their lips still inches apart.

"Don't go," he said simply, pleading her with his eyes. She tore her gaze away from his, knowing that if she stared for too long, she would not return to her common room any time soon. She was beginning to like her decision to be with him. It had its benefits.

"I have to. I'll come soon though, don't worry," she replied. With that she gave him a sweet peck on the lips and walked off to her common room, leaving Draco wanting more.

Alex sat in her common room in one of the single chairs. The common room was full of seventh years, and a few sixth years. The Gryffindors had arrive and so had some Hufflepuffs. Alex sat by herself with a beer in her hand, watching the people around her.

An hour later, Alex still had her first beer in her hand. Padma and Becky were sitting with Lavender and Parvati doing shots. Scarlett and Harry sat on one of the love seat couches. Alex had noticed that they had drank a lot. Scarlett was pretty drunk. She was sucking on Harry's neck and rubbing his leg while he tried to push her away gently. Alex smiled to herself thinking that Harry was getting what he wanted by choosing Scarlett. 'He could have had me,' she thought.

Alex looked at the clock and sighed. 'I've had enough of this,' she decided. Setting down her half finished beer, she stood, straightened her shirt and adjusted her jeans, and walked out of the common room. When she was out, she looked both ways down the corridor, looking for a teacher. She took a few steps in the general direction of the Slytherin common room when she heard fast paced footsteps. Quickly dodging behind a suit of armor, she watched as Professor McGonnagal hurried past. Finally breathing after McGonnagal had turned the corner, she stepped out of her hiding place. She had all intentions of continuing to the Slytherin common room, that is until someone called out her name.

Harry was miserable. He arrived at the Ravenclaw common room a while after the feast with Ron. As soon as he set foot in the room, Scarlett had attached herself to his arm. An hour and four beers later, Harry was getting annoyed. He and Scarlett were sitting on one of the couches. She was sucking on his neck and trying to force her hands down his pants. He wanted nothing to do with it, partly because she was completely wasted and partly because Alex was sitting across the room from him.

He peeled Scarlett off him (again) and he watched Alex intently. He had sneaked glances at her during the feast too. He wanted so much to tell her how he felt. She turned her head in his direction and he quickly looked the other way, not wanting her to catch him staring at her. When he thought she had looked away, he saw her get up from her spot in the armchair, place her half-finished beer down, and walk to the portrait hole. Harry got the urge to follow her. He tried to get up but he realized that Scarlett was practically sitting in his lap again.

"Scarlett, I'm going to.. er.. get another drink." he said to her. She slid out of his lap and nodded.

"Get me one, too" she slurred her words.

"Er, right" he said, glad that she was no longer attached to him. He walked around the room, trying no to make it seem like he was leaving. As he passed Lavender, Parvati, Padma, and Becky, he grabbed one of their shots and downed it. He was going to need it for what he was about to do. When he was sure no one was watching him, he slipped out of the common room.

There she was, coming out from behind a suit of armor and walking down the hallway away from him. He was having second thoughts. 'Be a man and just do it' a voice in his mind said sternly. Harry took a deep breath and opened his mouth.

"Alex," he called. She stopped and turned around cautiously, unsure of who had called her name.

"Oh, what do you want Harry?" she asked with a hint of disgust in her voice. Harry walked towards her.

"I, er, I wanted to.. apologize. For what I did." Harry didn't know how to say what he was feeling.

"You didn't seem so sorry these passed couple of weeks while you were snogging Scarlett." Alex was getting slightly upset. He bore his eyes into hers but she looked passed him, determined not to look him in the eye.

"Look, I didn't want to go out with Scarlett. She came on to me." Harry paused when he saw the disbelieving look on Alex's face. He sighed. "Alex, I really like you. When we went on that date all I could think about was how lucky I was to be sitting next to an amazing girl like you," Harry said sincerely.

"How do I know you're not hammered like Scarlett. You two had a lot to drink." Alex countered. Harry could see in her eyes that she was considering his words. He knew that if he kept trying, he could eventually break through and get her to like him again.

"I can hold my alcohol better a lot better that her." Alex gave him a look, but Harry continued quickly. "Please, the least you can do is hear me out. I don't like Scarlett. Not anymore, at least. Not after the things I've heard her say about you. I don't believe her though. I know we don't really know each other too well, but I know you are wonderful, sweet, intelligent, and beautiful. I really want to try again with you. I don't need to be Scarlett's toy anymore. I want you." He waited for her reaction. She looked into his eyes finally to see if he was being honest. He silently pleaded for her to believe him and to give him a chance.

She finally deemed him sincere after a moment and a single tear escaped her eyes. No one had ever told her those things at school before. Sure her parents thought she was beautiful, intelligent, and terrific, but that was different. Harry reached up to wipe the tear away gently. His hand lingered on her cheek as they gazed into each other's eyes. He slowly closed the gap between their lips, his hand still on her cheek.

Alex remembered about Draco when their lips were about to meet. Before she could say anything, their lips had met in a sweet kiss. It started gentle and slow, but it gradually progressed. Alex felt Harry's hands move to her waist and something possessed her own arms to find their way around his neck.

It was when Harry's tongue asked for entrance to her mouth that she finally pulled away. "Harry, I can't do this," she said, taking a step back. To her surprise, he nodded in understanding.

"I get it. Just do me a favor," he said, taking her hands in his. "Consider it. Consider us." And with that he turned to return to the common room, but not before he kissed her cheek.

Alex stood there rooted to the spot for a moment. She could not believe what had happened. She took a minute to go through everything in her mind before she turned to walk to the Slytherin common room. She didn't know if she still wanted to go there but she had promised Draco and she was his girlfriend. During the walk there, all she could think about was how gentle Harry had been and how sincere he had seemed. Harry had succeeded in thoroughly confusing her. On one hand, she was beginning to be happy with Draco and if she gave into Harry then her plan to get back at Scarlett probably would have been for nothing. Harry only admitted his feelings after she had started to see Draco. On the other hand, she still had feelings for Harry and that kiss they shared had surfaced those feelings once again. She loved the feeling she got when she was in his arms, but she also enjoyed being in Draco's arms.

She needed to make a big decision. 'You have to choose,' her mind said. She thought about this for a moment, but she could not decide. Both boys had their good points and their bad. She liked them both. Before she could eat herself up about this more, she arrived in front of the portrait hole.

She asked the portrait to let Draco know she was there. When it opened, she was greeted with a very cheery Draco. He swept her up in his arms and gave her a big kiss. When he had finally put her down he retrieved two drinks for them and led her over to the couch. They sat down next to each other before either one of them spoke.

"What took you so long?" he asked, putting his arm around her. She leaned into him.

"I was only there for less than two hours," she replied, finding it funny that he could not even stand to be away from her for more that an hour. She wanted to smile but she didn't. Harry was still on her mind.

Draco to a long sip from his beer. Alex sat there, thinking about what Harry had said.

"Consider this. Consider us." she heard over and over in her head. But when she saw Harry in her mind, she always saw Scarlett hanging all over him. Alex was confused and she didn't know what to do in her situation. She let out a groan of frustration.

Draco had been kissing her neck the whole time she was sitting there. She hadn't even realized because she was so engrossed in her thoughts. He mistook her groan of frustration as a moan of pleasure. This made him kiss her lips hungrily. She was surprised, but she responded after a moment's hesitation.

"Oi! Get a room!" Blaise exclaimed as he walked passed the two. Draco pulled away and smiled at Alex.

"That's not such a bad idea." he smirked. She took the opportunity to down the beer that was still in her hand. She thought that the alcohol might stop her thoughts from spinning.

When she was done, she kissed Draco again. She knew she couldn't do anything about Harry and Scarlett at this point, so she thought that she should enjoy herself while she had the chance. Draco immediately responded and ran a hand through her hair. After a few minutes of snogging, (and some more yelling from Blaise to 'get a room') Draco stopped kissing Alex and took her hand.

'Whoa, de ja vu,' she thought as she let Draco pull through the common room. She remembered the last time he led her out of a party and into a room alone. On the way she grabbed a half full beer from a Slytherin boy's hand and drank it as she went up the stairs to the boys dorms. 'Everything's more fun when you're drunk,' she recalled Scarlett telling her one day. At the thought of Scarlett, Alex felt heated. She was so... infuriating. Nothing Alex did seemed to affect her; except for one thing. Alex smirked as she remembered the look on Scarlett's face when she saw Draco and Alex kissing.

They arrived at the seventh year dorms and Draco locked the door with a spell behind them. No one was in there as they were all downstairs in the common room. Alex took no time to look around the room. She quickly closed the gap between Draco and herself, slipping her toungue into his mouth easily. His arms went around her waist and he slowly started walking her backwards towards his bed. On the way, Draco slid his hands under her shirt and lifted it up over her head. Alex began to fumble with the buttons on his shirt. She had never gone this far with anyone and she was very nervous.

Her inexperience was turning Draco on more. He helped her with the buttons on his shirt by swiftly undoing them and letting his shirt slide to the floor. The back of Alex's legs caught the foot of the bed and she laid back, pulling Draco on top of her. Draco positioned himself so he wouldn't crush her and began to kiss her bare neck. Within a few more minutes, Draco was just in his boxers and Alex just in her lacey panties. Draco moved his hands down her sides slowly and stopped when he reached the only piece of clothing left on her body.

He pulled his mouth away from hers and looked into her eyes. "Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked in a low voice. She hesitated for a moment, searching Draco's grey eyes for evidence that he wasn't going to harm her. She took a deep breath, perpairing herself for what she was about to do.

"Yes," she whispered. Then she reached up and grabbed the back of Draco's neck, bringing his lips crashing down on hers. She felt him smirk against her lips as he took the next stepin their relationship and her life. That night, Alex lost the hardest thing to take from her.

Alex awoke the next morning in bed next to Draco. His arms were around her body and he was breathing softly. She carefully got out of the bed, as not to disturb him, and put on her clothes. She took notice that none of the many beds in the room were occupied. 'They couldn't all be out,' she thought. With one last look at Draco's peacefully sleeping face, she left the room and closed the door softly.

She crept down the stairs and peaked into the common room, looking for anyone that was awake. To her surprise, all the seventh year boys were draped over chairs and couches, sleeping. Before she could comtemplate their being in the common room, one of them stirred. She hurried over to the portrait hole and slipped out, careful not to be seen.

She walked quickly and quitely to her own common room, thinking about what she did the previous night. She could not believe that she had given in to Draco so easily. They had only started going out two days ago! She certainly wasn't the same, brainy girl that had walked into Hogwarts two months ago.

Alex thought some more about her night with Draco. Although she was pretty sore (she didn't know you could get sore in those places), she had really enjoyed herself. It wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be. Draco had been amazing as well; he was so considerate and sweet. Alex smiled as she thought about it.

As she entered the common room, Alex was completly lost in thought. She let her feet carry her up the stairs to the girls dorms. Before she was at the top step, she heard one of the doors open and close. That was when she realized that she should have been a little more cautious. If she wasn't daydreaming, she might have heard the girl coming. She focused her eyes to the body that was walking towards her and her eyes opened wide when she finally saw who it was.

"Alex? What are you doing up so early.... in yesterday's clothes?" the person asked, confused and surprised.

Alex cursed herself for getting caught; the one person she didn't want to see had caught her -- Scarlett.
