Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.

Ginny looked up from her essay, funny how confused she was these days. Every time she had something good happened for her it was taken away by something bad happening. Harry had gone to fight Voldemort, and not come back. Of course, she’d been with him to whole way, but the memory of it seemed like a far distant thing that she’d watched on TV or maybe she just didn’t want to remember anything anymore.

Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.

Malfoy had finally shown his love for her after Harry died, but Ginny hated him and always would. For all the years she was at Hogwarts she despised him and yet he was slowly pulling her to him, his presence lingered at the door, he was watching her. He did that a lot now, just watched her. As if she really did mean something to him.

So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.

It was a test, a test to resist him and not fall for the man who for so many years had been her archenemy, the man who betrayed Harry Potter to the dark lord. She had to remember that if it wasn't for him Harry would still be alive and she would still be in his arms.

“Harry!” screamed Ginny running to him. His limp body lay on the ground, his last breath had come and gone as Ginny collapsed by his side. She touched his lips with her fingers and held his hand in her own. Hoping and praying he’d come back and hold her like he promised he’d always do. “Harry!”

A hand was on her shoulder and she looked up to see Draco Malfoy standing above her. Voldemort was watching her, smiling as he did. He raised his wand but Malfoy put up a hand to stop him from killing her.

“Go ahead.” Said Ginny standing up silently. “Kill me, I have no reason to live now.”

Voldemort nodded and smiled evilly. “I have won you blood traitor. You deserve nothing more than death.”

“My Lord, if you please, I have assisted you in the death of Harry Potter. In return spare her life so she can be mine.” Said Malfoy leaning on one knee. Ginny looked at him in disgust, the tears of pain running down her cheeks.

“No!” she screamed and tore away from his hand, running to Harry’s body. She picked it up, kissing his face and praying, screaming his name into the dead sky.

A death eater picked her up and she screamed again. Flailing as they took her away from Harry, she looked around to see people still battling. Hermione was watching her, crying as they pulled her into the circle of death eaters.

Ginny gasped and let her head fall to the desk, the tears fell freely as she thought of the night when she’d lost her true love. The only one she’d ever wanted to be with. She'd lost everyone, her family was all dead, Hermione and her friends were gone too, and all killed that night.

It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time.

It wasn’t fair that the young died so early. As Draco had pulled her away, he had forced her to watch the rest battling. Hermione, oh how she missed Hermione. It wasn’t fair that he’d forced her to watch them… thinking back on it, she roughly looked at him, a tear trickling down her cheek as she did so. Everything was his fault.

Molly Weasley was cradling her son’s head in her arms as Ginny watched her. The tears of watching her brother die fighting had been too painful for her to watch. First Harry, then Ron. Draco was holding her still, they were in the woods and obviously nobody had yet noticed her missing.

She bit Draco’s hand and as he pulled his hand away, she took the opportunity to scream. Molly looked up and squinted her eyes. Ginny thrashed around and Molly came running forward. A slight smile on her lips.

“Ginny? Ginny is that you?” she asked running forward. Ginny smiled against Draco’s hand and Molly stopped only a meter away from her. “I love you darling… thank god you’re alright.” She exclaimed, not realizing she was being held prisoner by Draco.

The next few moments of Ginny’s life were probably the worst she’d ever been through. The light had come out of nowhere, and when it struck her mother she fell to the ground. Illuminated by the green light for only seconds.

Breaking Free of Draco’s grip she ran to her mother, kneeling beside her and crying again. Her eyes were open and staring. Every time Ginny’s eyes closed, her mother’s opened in her mind. The sight would go with Ginny to her grave.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Something unpredictable had ruined her future with Harry Potter, the life they would live together, and the children they would have. The love they had shared was so strong and now as she sat there, her head in her hands she felt Draco place his hands on her shoulder, caressing her ever so softly. Massaging the pain away.

So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.

Sometimes, it seemed as if Harry was still with her though. That he hadn’t left her at all and Draco was just making her think that horrible way. She knew Harry wouldn’t leave her forever, but sometimes she felt do damn angry that she wanted nothing more than to jump into Draco’s arms and forget all about Harry Potter.

Hang it on a shelf
In good health and good time.

She didn’t want to forget Harry, but… there was the idea that she needed to move on past his death and love again. Feel again and most importantly to live… without life are you really anything?

Tattoos of memories
and dead skin on trial.

He was dead, and that was that. There was nothing she could do for him now; she was living with the enemy. She was probably going to love the enemy, and even if she didn’t want to lose Harry’s memory, it was going to be strong enough to remember him forever but to love him? Nothing was that strong.

For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.

She'd remember Harry forever and knew he'd always be in her heart but maybe...no there was no point in denying it, she could remember but no matter how much she tried it wouldn't bring him back. Draco blew softly in her ear watching her and worrying. She'd always been what he'd wanted but since Harry had gone she'd been near death herself.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

In the end it would all be right though, Ginny pushed her chair back and turned to face Draco. Her eyes were red and puffy and she was still shaking from the shock of Harry's death and the loss of her loved ones but she needed to have someone to hold, she fell into his arms. Confiding herself to him he hugged her. Pulling her closer to him so he could make it better. It would be all right; he'd take care of her.

And yet she hated him…. With all the feeling’s she could make, she hated him enough to love him.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
