Review #1, by lovegood27 Maybe This Time

28th April 2017:
Hello, I'm here to review your entry (and probably about time too...) :)

Oh God, I hate the both of them for doing this to Rose, but they're so clearly in love with each other that I can't help but ship them. I liked your beginning; where it starts off as just another typical day for Roxanne at a bar before Scorpius comes.

Another thing I thought was really nice was how you slipped in bits of information about their past and background. It gave me more of a feel of the story...did Roxanne seriously give up the chance to play on a Quidditch team because of Scorpius, though? *sighs*

Anyway, all in all, I really enjoyed this! It was kind of scary how believable it was, but it also clearly wasn't canon. Thanks for the entry! :D

Author's Response: Hello my friend :)

"they're so clearly in love with each other that I can't help but ship them." -- I love that this has been the general reaction to this fic, especially since their chemistry just kind of jumped off the page and I didn't have much to do with it, tbh.

well, to be fair, Roxanne *didn't* almost give up a chance to play Quidditch for Scorpius - there was a lot more going on, but that's the way that he perceived it since it was around that time.

thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the fun challenge. ♥

Review #2, by crimson quill Maybe This Time

12th April 2017:
Capture The Flag,

So I do like a rare pairing and next gen so it's basically my perfect one-shot right here. I can't think a pairing that I've read recently (apart from ginny/seamus) that have better chemistry than Roxy and Scorpius in this. something about it just worked so well. everything about this just has certain tension to it.

I've never been much of a Rose/Scorpius shipper but I feel for Rose in this without her even having to appear. Scorpius is a naughty boy so you can understand that Roxy wasn't willing to let herself get carried away again. she's risking a lot for Scorpius like all of her family. it's all quite romantic in a way perhaps maybe romantic is the wrong way to put it, it's obviously passionate. passionate is a better word for this fic.

I think you did a good job of keeping all of roxy's conflicting thoughts together in a coherent way.

my favourite line in this is ' Iím just a flame, one thatís going to burn out before it can get too bright' - I really love the metaphor you used in this line so is something rather poetic about it too. I wouldn't mind seeing how Roxy and Scorpius get on after this fic or even a one-shot about what happened the first time! xo

Author's Response: I've been digging rare pairs and next gen a lot lately, too! I'm so glad that you thought they have chemistry; in certain parts they really did just write themselves.

Tbh, I've never been much of Scorose shipper either, so you'll usually see Scorpius with Albus or someone else in my stories, or there's a twist to the Scorose relationship like there is here. I giggled at "Scorpius is a naughty boy" because it's true, haha. Passionate is definitely the right word for this fic :P

Thank you! I was a little unsure about that metaphor but it seems to work for people! I'm actually toying with writing more of them since I really enjoyed this, so there might be more in the future.

Thanks for all of your great reviews! ♥

Review #3, by dirtydeedsdonedirtcheap Maybe This Time

12th April 2017:
ďScorpius, youíre a customer and Iím your bartender. You donít actually have to tell me everything thatís on your mind.Ē

Thatís not how I drink! Isnít it funny that when, or at least for me, youíre sitting behind the bar you feel compelled to talk to the bartender and start telling him (or her) the details of your life. I already love their interaction though. Clearly something is weighing heavy on Scorpius and Roxanne is the perfect person to help him out or at least listen.

While she pines from him behind the bar. Good thing sheís equipped with alcohol.

ďI donít believe for a second that you actually want me to marry Rose.Ē

I read the summary but I didnít see that coming. I thought he would be nervous or maybe Rose said no but never did I think he was going to go to her with a ring for another girl and justÖI donít know. Is this closure? Has he finally seen the light? Is he going to leave one cousin for another cousin?

That is actually extremely messed up!

When I reached him, suddenly my arms were around his waist and his were around my shoulders, our contrasting appearance of light and dark skin more apparent than ever, even in the moonlight. Shadows danced along his face, and I took a moment to appreciate his beauty before my lips were on his.

Love this! Super sensual.

ďGive me a reason to stay,Ē he whispered, ďand Iím yours.Ē

I AM JELLY.

AH! I know itís horrible. Sheís the other woman and thatís her family but god, they make quite the dishy couple, donít they? I just loved their interaction. My heart was racing because I could feel the electricity between them. Uh, why do I have to be pathetically single?

I want a Scorpius.

But anyway, once they finally gave in to their feelings and desires the chapter soared. It was such a quick and easy read but there were so many layers there when she went outside. I was truly impressed!

Author's Response: Hello again!

I always thought it was funny, the cliche/trope about people pouring their hearts out to bartenders, so that's kind of what I was going for with that :P Your commentary in this review really made me giggle, though - it *is* a good thing Roxy's equipped with alcohol!

I'm glad you didn't see it coming! I was kind of hoping it would throw people for a bit of a loop :P

I know! It's a terrible situation but they just *fit* together, you know? They jumped off the screen so much for me that I'm considering writing more about them. Also: why do I have to be pathetically single? PREACHING TO THE CHOIR.

I want a Scorpius too.

Thanks so much! ♥

I've never even thought about this pairing before, but I love the way you presented them. I totally buy it.

"Iím just a flame, one thatís going to burn out before it can get too bright." I loved this line. It really made me feel for Rox.

And Scorpius pulling her in for the kiss! Woo! I loved it! Great job!

Author's Response: Hey there! Yeah, it was a super random pairing from the challenge, but I got pretty intrigued by it too with the dynamics between Scorp and Rose and a cousin :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by with the review!

Okay so I've owed you this for forever.

Yaaas and what a random pairing it is! I'm so ready for you to convince me *grabs popcorn*

I think one of the things I love most about your stories is that if you have to stray away from canon, you start with canon, as in Scorpius and Rose together. It makes your stories more believable because they at least start in the world we know.

Ooh but they've hooked up before. So chemistry is already there.

Au contraire mon ami, one night can definitely change everything.

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?

Okay so I know you said you were thinking about doing more with these two, and before reading this I wondered what sort of thing that could be. Now that I've read it, UM, YES, I NEED MORE! Even though this is just a tiny glimpse of their characters, the two of them have such fire between them, and it's amazing.

Lovely work as always, Jill! ♥

Author's Response: That popcorn looks delicious, can I have some? :)

I do love starting with canon. I feel like that makes everything more realistic, and I try to present my stories as alternate possibilities - if that makes sense.

I may have turned up the heat on you a bit!

I have no clue what/if I'm going to do more with them, but I'm intrigued by their pairing, tbh. I'll just have to see where inspiration takes me.

Thanks love!

I'm a die hard RoSco fan, but this was cute and well-written! It almost makes me want Roxy and Scor to be together! Awesome one-shot!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, even as a RoSco fan :)
