Review #1, by Glisten  The Chinese Restaurant

16th July 2017:
What a heartwarming little Dramione! Although, I must admit that it's a bit strange to be reading this since it makes me have a warm fuzzy wintery sort of feel but then I look away from the screen and it's midsummer. Nonetheless, I appreciated the brief excersion you helped me take into another season.

I love the fact that you only wrote about what happens on December 24th. It's very original and an intruiging trait to your story. You've also got a unique setting. I mean, I'm pretty confident when I say that there probably isn't another story on this site that takes place in a muggle Chinese restaurant.

The part where she wished he were someone else was so sad! After years of seeing someone in a certain light it must be a strange and foreign transition to change your attitude towards them all of the sudden.

Again, such a cute little story! I know that I'm a little late in reading and reviewing this so I hope you're still around to see it. I'm going to go see if you have any more stories and if you do I'll defiately add a few to my reading list since it's really late where I am and I'm not awake enough to properly enjoy another story. Great job on this one-shot, it was the perfect way to end my day.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! This was a great review to receive. I haven't been writing very much lately because life seems to have caught up with me but getting a nice review is always good to kick start the creative juices.

I'm a big fan of showing snippets of a relationship where you only see a tiny amount and you have to show the whole evolution of their interactions in only three scenes that occur once a year. I do the same thing with the short story "The Hogwarts Express" which is one of my favorite stories that I've written.

I do try to come of with unique ideas which is difficult for Dramione because there is such an obvious path that writers (including myself) have taken.

Review #2, by Dark Whisper The Chinese Restaurant

Siriusly21,

Awe, this was adorable. You about broke my heart at, "Hermione wished Draco was another man..."
Gulp, that was hard to read, as big a fan I am of these two hearts.

I don't normally relate to Hermione much, but I did in your story... in that she re-lived those few moments with him for a year, second guessing herself and wishing she had said something else, not letting it go. Wow, I do that a lot and think of the "right thing to say" much later.

I loved the realistic bluntness of the beginning years and especially the imagery of her abruptly standing when she saw him the 3rd year, unsure of why she was doing it. I love this element, as it adds a bit of that jolt in your story that I imagine her heart was feeling.

Congratulations on your Dobby Nomination! I can see why you made the list. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I'm glad the emotional part of this is realistic, emotions are hard for me to write. I'm glad Hermione was relatable! - Alex

In response to your review, I told you I read this but I also thought I should drop a review (because I know how much they mean to me!)

So, I normally don't read Dramione fics because I normally like sticking to canon but given my love/hate relationship with Cursed Child I've definitely changed my tune on reading things canon compliant.

I'm really liking the way you tell stories through a annually recurring event. You have an effective way of adding just enough detail to let readers speculate and fill in what's happened over the 364 days we're not reading about directly. And obviously, this is such a wonderful and adorable plot.

Congratulations on your Dobby nomination!

Author's Response: I feel the need to say, I didn't know I got a Dobby nomination. I looked at the list and saw you got many, so congratuations!

I'm glad you branched out and I am totally with you on sticking to canon. I haven't read Cursed Child because it scared me. I don't like the idea of messing with what J.K. Rowling wrote, but Dramione is the only one I will break that mold for.

I will work on more stories about reoccurring events! Can't wait to read more of your story! - Alex

You are always so good to Draco! What a well-drawn character! He & Hermione make a smart couple!! They can definitely keep up with each other.

Author's Response: I was reading all your other reviews for my novel and saw this one and was confused until I realized it was for the one-shot!

Anyways, thanks for the review and for checking out some of my other stories. Hermione and Draco are the only couple I wiill change from J.K. Rowling. I don't like to mess with her work, unless it's for this pair, because I don't think anything I could write would be better.

That's why I mostly do next-gen. And I do love Draco as a character. My brother actually has a bearded dragon that I convinced him to name Draco--weird side note. Anyways, Hermione and Draco have so many stories to be told in fanfiction and hopefully I'lll get to write more. - Alex
