Chapter: If It's a Saint You Want (Part 2) | Story: Irrational

Loved the conversation with Brian. As I said in my last review it's so interesting to see different POV of the war and you write them so well. They're very believable and heartfelt. I also love how you're doing it from people who didn't believe that Voldemort was back. In the books, having seen it happen, it's really hard to understand how people can't believe it. But I'm now feeling quite stupid because how you describe it, it is just so ridiculous to blindly believe that he's back from the dead. And how you make Brian so blunt and straight forward about it all is a great way to read and understand it. 

' Traded one set of lives for another, didn’t I? Selfish.” He’d said the word bluntly. “Weak.” ' You're really getting me with these lines you know, it's unfair to make someone feel so much from so little. I know I've said this too many times to count but how you write them all, it's just too believable. And I am saying that in a bad way because I'm sat here feeling so sorry for them that they had to go through all of that and it's not even real! (Just a huge credit to your writing I suppose.)

Audrey talking to the plant is hilarious. I think the rose bush should become a new main character, it's definitely got enough sass! 

They're finally back together! Yes! I love how you did it too, no fuss. Just both of them alone, in the office. It's just so them I can't see it any other way now. 

And we're going to meet the Weasleys! Birthdays at the Burrow, I'm so excited for the madness (and all the Percy teasing)! 

P.S. I think I'm going to adopt 'prat tax' - gonna save me a lot of money!

Thank you so much for these dedicated reviews. I’m very glad you’ve enjoyed these last couple of chapters. I really didn’t want all the justification for Percy’s actions coming from his own mouth — I felt that would be a bit self-serving. So I needed to use other characters like Vivian and Brian as the mouthpiece for a different perspective. I do think that, reading the HP books, from Harry’s POV, we’re predisposed to support him and to be offended by anyone not believing everything he says, but to any normal person who wasn’t close to him, the idea of Voldemort rising from the dead must have been appalling!

While I personally am wholeheartedly willing to justify and forgive everything Percy did, I think he’s carrying a ton of guilt and regret and being very hard on himself in retrospect. I think post-war Percy would have developed a lot of humility he didn’t previously have (even though he doesn’t show it to everyone).

I’m glad you liked the scene with the rose bush, I had a lot of fun with it. :)

It’s really nice just writing a mature couple who genuinely care about each other, and Percy’s just so happy to have her back.
