As 17 year old Anna walked away from her father and towards the platform tears were forming in her eyes. Anna’s twin brother had died less than a year ago in a car crash, and now she had to leave her best friends because her family had moved from Houston to London so hopefully the painful memories would leave. Anna had gone through so much since her brother died. Her mother became an alcoholic, and Anna was often taking care of her. Her older sister had dropped out of school and eloped with her boyfriend and they hadn’t been seen since. But Anna was no quitter, she knew her brother, Adam, would want her to be strong, meet new people, and make friends. Before walking through the platform of 9 and ¾ Anna ran back to her father and gave him one last hug. Anna had learned through the death of Adam that she should always be grateful for the ones she loves. She didn’t know when she would see her father again, but she hoped it would be soon.

“I love you Daddy” she told him.

“I love you too Anna. Now I want you to be the mature daughter I know and not get into too much trouble while you’re at Hogwarts” he answered back.

“I’ll try my hardest,” Anna said rolling her eyes… staying out of trouble was one of the hardest things for Anna… trouble just seemed to be where she was.

“You have to go or you’ll miss your train” he said.

“I know. Be safe, and take care of Mom.”

“I will; don’t worry about us, worry about yourself and keeping you safe” he said.

The next thing Anna knew she was standing in front of a train, the Hogwarts Express. She brought her luggage to the compartments for luggage. She then walked into the main part of the train and saw people sitting with their friends.

“Great,” Anna thought to her self. “Who am I going to sit with?”

Anna could feel people staring at her, and she knew why. Anna knew she was pretty. She had light blonde hair that fell past her shoulders and curled slightly at the end. Her face had a few freckles across the bridge of her nose which she had inherited from her mom’s side of the family. Her teeth were perfectly straight and pearly white. She was 5’4 and was filled out in all the right places. But her best features of all were her eyes. Anna had great eyes. Starting on the outside going in they were blue then green with brown shooting out around the pupil, in the light green area she had flecks of yellow. Her eyes stood out in the bright light and drew attention to her.

Anna, still wondering where she was going to sit, didn’t even see someone walking towards her, and apparently he didn’t see her either because the next moment Anna was sprawled out on the ground with a boy on top of her.

“I am so so sorry” the boy said as he got off of Anna. “I wasn’t looking where I was going” he explained. Once he was to his feet he held out a hand for Anna to take for assistance to get up.

“No, no. It’s really alright. I wasn’t looking where I was going either, so it’s my fault as well.” Anna said as she got to her feet. She then looked at the boy for the first time. He had black hair and glasses, but behind the glasses were, in Anna’s opinion, the most gorgeous green eyes she had ever seen. He was tall and muscular and had a nice face.

“I’m Harry,” he said extending his hand. “Harry Potter”

“Anna” she answered back trying not to sound amazed that she was actually meeting THE Harry Potter.

“Are you new this year, because I’ve never seen you before and I’m sure I would remember you if I had seen you before,” Harry asked Anna.

“Yes, I’m new this year. I just moved with my family from Houston a few weeks ago.”

“Cool. Do you know what house you’ll be in?”

“No. I’m being sorted tonight.”

“Well I hope you’re in Gryffindor, that’s my house. What year are you?”

“7th, you?”

“Same. Hey do you want to sit with me and some of my friends in our compartment?”

Anna was very relieved at this.

“Sure. Lead the way,” she said giving him one of her wonderful smiles

In Harry’s compartment, Anna met Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville. They were all wonderful people and were all in Gryffindor. Anna was really hoping she would be put in Gryffindor so she could be with them.

Later, as Anna was walking back from the train’s restrooms, she heard a voice behind her.

“Hey there” he said. Anna turned around and saw one of the hottest guys she had ever met. He had white blonde hair and mesmerizing grey eyes. “I’m Draco”

“Hey,” Anna said shooting him her famous smile. “I’m Anna.”

Draco then took Anna’s hand and brought it to his mouth and lightly kissed it. The kiss sent shivers down her spine and she tried to not show her reaction to him.
Harry stuck his head out of the compartment and was extremely surprised to see Anna talking to Draco. Harry was even more surprised at how jealous he was getting.

“Anna! We’re almost there. You need to put your robes on now,” Harry called out. Harry saw Anna say goodbye to Draco and was happy when he saw her coming back to his compartment. “Why were you talking to Draco?”

“Jealous are we?” Anna asked in a joking way, but was shocked to see Harry turn slightly pink.

“Maybe just a little,” he answered.

Chapter 2: The Sorting

Chapter 2
Heres the Next Chapter!!
Disclaimer: Nothing you recognize is mine!

Anna was slightly shaking as she, Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s carriage came closer and closer to the school. Anna let out a shocked gasp when she saw the castle for the first time. Harry, Ron, and Hermione laughed.

“We had pretty much the same reaction,” said Hermione.

“Yea, wait until you see inside, its great!” said Ron, Hermione’s boyfriend.

“My old school looked nothing like this, not even close! It wasn’t even a boarding school,” Anna said still staring at the castle. “When tonight will I be sorted?”

“Probably with the first years,” Harry answered. “The sorting is always right before the feast.”

“Well make sure you save me a seat for the feast, just incase,” Anna said.

“Of course, Anna. I really hope you will be in Gryffindor with us” Harry said
almost shyly. Anna thought he was the most adorablely cute guy in the world in the way he got so nervous when he talked to her.

“I hope so too! Oh my god! Look we’re here!” Anna exclaimed as their carriage came to a stop.

As the four got out of the carriage and walked up to the castle with the rest of the school, they were met by Professor McGonagall. “I’m looking for Anna Jameson. Anna? Where are you?” she asked when everyone was quiet.

“Here!” I said confidently and raising my hand so she could see where I was.

“Good, good. Now please follow me Miss Jameson.”

“See you later!” Anna said to her new friends, and then added, “hopefully at the Gryffindor table.”

“Good luck Anna!” said Hermione giving her a quick hug before Anna went to meet Professor McGonagall. She turned around and saw Harry smiling at her in an encouraging way.

“Welcome Miss Jameson, to Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry. Now if you could please follow me, I will be explaining what it going to happen tonight.” Professor McGonagall said as she lead Anna inside the castle and into a small class room that was filled with what looked like a lot of small, frightened first years. “You will be sorted first Miss Jameson, into one of the following houses: Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin. You may now go out into the Great Hall to be sorted. The Great Hall is out these doors and straight across the hallway to the pair of giant doors. Listen for Dumbledore to introduce you, and once he does you may go in and enter.”

“Thank you!” Anna said in what she hoped was a calm voice but knew it wasn’t.
Anna walked straight down the hallway and stopped outside the doors where she could hear Dumbledore Welcoming the students. Anna tried to fix her hair and her clothes the best she could, but before she knew it, Dumbledore had just announced her name.

Anna walked into the Great Hall and towards Dumbledore. She tried not to think about how the people were staring and whispering.

“Welcome Miss Anna Jameson. Won’t you please, sit on this stool and I will then place the sorting hat on your head,” Dumbledore said once Anna had reached him. Anna sat down and Dumbledore placed the hat on her head.

“Ahhh, Anna” the hat whispered in Anna’s head. “My how loyal you are to your friends! Brave as well. Incredibly intelligent but sly and cunning. The only difficulty is figuring out which house you would succeed the most in. There is no doubt that your intelligence will help you excel in Ravenclaw, your loyalty in Hufflepuff, your bravery in Gryffindor, and your cunning side in Slytherin. Aaah! I think I’ve got it, yes yes… GRYFFINDOR!!!” the last word was shouted out to the whole Great Hall and Anna could see Harry, Ron, and Hermione cheering loudly. Anna also saw an empty seat next to Harry.

“Very good Miss Jameson! You may now sit with your house.” Professor Dumbledore said. Anna then walked happily down to the Gryffindor table with a giant smile on her face as she sat right next to Harry who was beaming.

“I knew you had it in you Anna!” Harry said.

“Way to go Anna! You’ll make a great Gryffindor, I’m sure of it” said Ron.

“Hey Anna, there is one extra bed in my dormitory that’s never been used before. Do you want to sleep there?” Hermione asked.

“Sure!” Anna said happily. “That sounds so great!”

The first years where then sorted and then after, the feast began. After the feast they were all dismissed to their common rooms and dormitories. Before Anna had left the Great Hall, she heard a familiar voice in her ear.

“Hey you. Sucks you’re not in Slytherin with me. We could have had some fun together.” Draco said.
“That’s alright Draco, I’m sure I will see plenty of you around school and possibly in classes. Well it was nice bumping into you again Draco, but I must be going. Good night!” Anna said.

“Sweet dreams about me babe,” Draco whispered in her ear.

Anna looked him in the eye for a few moments before giving him a smile. “Sweet dreams to you too Draco.” Anna then walked off with Draco staring after her to Harry. “Thanks for waiting for me Harry; that was really sweet.” Anna said and smiled even more as she saw Harry’s eyes brighten as she said that and his cheeks turn a bit pink as they always did when he talked to her. It was just so cute to Anna.

Once Anna had reached the common room, she said goodnight to Harry and Ron, and followed Hermione to her new dormitory. Anna shared the dormitory with Hermione, of course, Parvati, Lavender, and a girl named Jessica. After talking to each of them for awhile, Anna decided it was best for her to sleep seeing as it had been a very long day to her. Her thoughts then began to focus on Harry and how adorable he was. She hoped one day he would ask her out. She then thought about hott Draco. “Draco may be hott,” Anna thought to herself, “but he doesn’t seem my type. Yes,” she decided. “Harry is much more my type.” And with a few more thoughts of the cute green eyed boy, Anna fell into a peaceful sleep.

**At the same time in the boys’ dormitory, the boys were discussing Anna.**

“She is way hott,” Seamus thought out loud. “It’s not fair the three of you (Harry, Ron, and Neville) got to be with her the whole train ride here.”

“She is hott…” Ron stated. “But I’ve got Hermione and I’m happy with her mate. What do you think Harry? I saw the way you were looking at her all the way in the train and then again at dinner. Admit it! You think shes hott don’t you??!”

With this Harry began to turn red again and was having trouble with his answer to Ron’s question. Finally, after a few moments, Harry got the courage to answer Ron. “Yea shes hott, really hott. I’m thinking about asking her out once I get to know her more.”

With that Ron whooped and yelled and patted Harry on the back. “Good luck mate!”

After the conversation, Harry was lying in bed thinking about Anna. Slowly, his thoughts carried him off into sleep.

Chapter 3: Anna's first day
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Anna’s first day
Chapter 3 yaaaaaaaay!
Disclaimer: See something you recognize? That’s because it’s not mine!

Anna and Hermione met up with Harry and Ron the next morning and the four of them walked to the Great Hall together to get some breakfast.

“Anna, are you nervous about starting your first day here?” Ron asked.

“You have no idea. My old school was really laid back about rules and class and stuff like that, but I have a feeling that this school is much more different than that” Anna replied.

“Yeah, they’re pretty strict about some things, but it’s not like you can’t have a good time while you’re here.” Hermione said.

The four then entered the Great Hall and once they had sat at the Gryffindor table, Ron immediately began piling food onto his plate. Anna had never seen anyone eat as much as he did. Anna turned to Harry and asked, “Does he always eat that much, or has he just been starved for oh say the past couple of years?”

Harry laughed at this and answered back, “No, he’s always hungry. We just get used to him eating this much food.” Anna laughed as she saw the disgusted look on Hermione’s face as she watched her boyfriend eat. Professor McGonagall was then passing out schedules at the Gryffindor table. Anna compared hers with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. For the most part, the four would be together except for Ancient Runes which Anna and Hermione would be in together.

“Uuuuh,” Ron groaned as he looked down at his schedule. “We have three classes this year with Slytherin: Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Transfiguration. And, we have Double Potions first today. What a great way to start off the year, Double Potions with Snape and the git, Malfoy.”

“Who’s Malfoy?” Anna asked curiously.

“You’ve met him. Draco is his first name. The two of you met on the train yesterday,” Harry said with a hint of annoyance in his voice that luckily no one picked up on.

“Oh.” Anna answered a bit nervously. Three classes with a really hott guy that she had decided she wasn’t interested in. For some reason, though, Anna had a feeling she wouldn’t be paying attention to her teachers that much in those three classes Draco was in.

As soon as they were done eating, they grabbed their books and started making their way down to the dungeons where Potions is located. Before they had even left the Great Hall, Anna felt an arm around her waist and turned around and saw none other than Draco himself.

“Hey Anna. We’ve got the first class of the year together. I’ll walk you there and show you the way.”

Anna turned and saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron staring at her waiting for her response to Malfoy. Anna knew it wouldn’t be the smartest thing to walk with Draco especially since Ron had made it known at breakfast that they didn’t like him, but Anna had a problem with saying no to people, especially when a hott guy was involved. “Umm, well I was going to walk with Harry, Ron, and Hermione,” Anna said as she saw a smile come across Harry’s face, “But why don’t you walk to class with us?” Anna asked giving him a smile.

“As long as I get to walk with you, babe, I’ll walk with them” Draco answered, but Anna could tell he wasn’t thrilled to be walking with the others. The same went for Harry, Hermione, and Ron… needless to say, they weren’t thrilled either. As the four walked together, Ron and Hermione were having their own quiet and private conversation as Draco and Harry were both competing for Anna’s attention. Anna found it quite funny.

“Anna, do you want to sit by me in Potions today?” Harry asked.

“Sure, Harry. That would be cool.” Anna replied giving him a smile which he returned almost immediately.

“Hey, Anna, do you want me to show you around the castle later today when we’re on break?” Draco asked.

“Oh my god, Draco that would be so awesome! I just know I’m going to get lost about a thousand times.” Anna replied happily. “Draco wants to show me around the school!” Anna couldn’t help thinking to herself.

“Well, we’re here. Bye Malfoy.” Harry said rudely, trying to get rid of Malfoy so he could be with Anna. Harry then showed Anna an empty seat at the back table that Harry, Ron, and Hermione always sat at.

“See you later, Anna.” Malfoy said and winked at her sending chills down her spine.

Anna then sat down next to Harry and was listening to him talk about Quidditch as they waited for the Professor to come.

“Do you play, Anna?” he asked her.

“Yeah! I love Quidditch! I’m a chaser, what are you?”

“Seeker, and im Captain this year. You know, we do need a new chaser this year. You should try out! It would be awesome if you were on the team with me and Ron.”

“Yeah I think I will,” Anna answered just as Professor Snape walked in. Anna could tell that Snape was not a teacher to get on the wrong side of just by how he could get the whole class to shut up when he walked through the door.

“This will be your final year in this class, and none of the rules have changed.” Snape said with his voice barely over a whisper. “The directions are on the board, and the supplies are in the cabinet. Get to work. Your potion is due at the end of class.” And with that everyone began to write down the instructions and then take supplies out of the closet. They were making an extremely difficult potion, a Sleeping Potion that, if made correctly, could have the drinker in sleep for over 10 years.

The class was extremely hard and extremely boring. Anna had never had to work this hard in school before. Hermione was quietly helping her understand how to mix things properly, and by the end of class, Anna’s potion was a light purple. Sure, the potion was supposed to be about one shade darker than hers, but Anna felt she had done really well thanks to Hermione. Anna bottled up a flask, labeled it with her name, then walked up to Professor Snape’s desk and set it down.

“And who are you?” Professor Snape asked Anna.

“Anna, Anna Jameson. I’m new this year. I moved from America.”

“Well, Miss Jameson, good luck in this class. Americans aren’t nearly as intelligent in potions as they think they are.” He said insultingly.

“Well, thank you for the luck, Professor Snape, but I’m sure I can do just fine in this class with out it.” Anna replied bluntly.

After class was out, Gryffindors had charms. Anna was really good in her old Charms class, and hoped at this school she would be good too. Once again, Anna sat next to Harry, but the difference with this class was they were allowed to talk as they worked on their charms together. Anna and Harry were partners as they just reviewed past charms everyone had learned previous years to get them used to working again.

“So, are you friends with Malfoy?” Harry asked casually.

“I’m not sure; I’ve only talked to him like three times. Why so interested?” Anna asked as she gave him a sweet smile.

“Oh, no reason, it’s just that Malfoy and I aren’t the greatest of friends… No, we aren’t even friends.”

The day went by pretty quickly. After charms, it was time for lunch, and then afterwards Anna had Ancient Runes with Hermione as Ron and Harry had Divination. After that, it was Defense against the Dark Arts, then dinner. After Anna finished eating dinner, Draco walked towards her and asked “ready to go, Anna?”

“Sure Draco, but can we stop by my dormitory first? I need to drop my books off.”

“But of course.” He said.

Anna said goodbye to her new friends and walked with Draco to the Gryffindor common room. After Anna dropped her stuff off, they began walking around the castle. Anna noticed how close he was standing to her and was a little nervous. “What’s wrong with me?” Anna asked herself. “You flirted with so many guys back in America, what’s so different about Draco.” And with that Anna became more relaxed.

“So where are you going to take me Draco?” Anna asked sweetly giving him a smile.

“Well, I thought I would take you outside to see the lake.” Draco answered her.

Once they got outside, Anna began shivering slightly. It was so much colder here than Texas! Draco noticed this, took off his jacket then put his arm around her.

“Much, thanks.”

Draco and Anna then sat down by the edge of the lake. If Draco got any closer to her, he would be on top of her.

Anna, realizing he was going to put a move on her any moment, suddenly stood up.

“What’s wrong Anna?” Draco asked completely confused.

“Well, I…uh… I have a lot of homework to do tonight, and I don’t want to get behind on the first day of school” Anna said giving him the first excuse that came to her mind. The real reason was that she didn’t want anything to happen between her and Draco. She like Harry no matter how Draco looked or how he made her feel when he touched her. “We should probably go back now.”

“Ok…” Draco answered uncertainly. Then, the two of them walked back to the Gryffindor common room and at the Fat Lady Portrait, Anna gave the jacket back to Draco.

“Thanks for showing me around outside, Draco. Good night.” She said and turned to go in the common room, but Draco grabbed her arm, swung her around, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her deeply.

Anna was completely lost while she was kissing Draco. She had no idea where she was, or even who she was. Draco had a major effect on her like that. After kissing for several moments, they broke apart and Anna was momentarily speechless.

“Sweet dreams, babes” Draco told her.

“N…N… Night Draco” Anna said, and with that Anna walked into the practically empty common room where she saw Harry sitting on a couch and waiting for her.

Chapter 4: Avoiding Draco

Avoiding Draco
Chapter 4 is here!! Thanks for reading everyone!!
Disclaimer: see something u recognize? Yeah that’s because its not mine.

“Hey, Anna,” Harry said happily once he saw her walk into the common room. “I thought I would wait for you because I figured you might like some company while you do your homework.”

“Wow, Harry, that’s really nice. Yeah I could most definitely need some company.” Anna answered with her heart still racing from what had happened just moments ago. Anna then started her homework and had Harry helping her. It soon became very late and they were both really tired. Finally, Anna gave into her exhaustion and laid her head down on Harry’s shoulder. She fell asleep in a matter of seconds. Harry, tired as well, decided to lay his head down on top of hers and drifted of into sleep.

Anna woke up the next morning from the sun light pouring through the window and hitting her right in the face. At first Anna was really confused. Why was she in the common room? And why were someone’s arms wrapped around her waist? Anna sat up and saw that Harry and she had fallen asleep together last night and had gotten… a little close during the night.

“Shit, Harry! Harry, wake up!” Anna whispered shaking Harry slightly. Harry woke up and yawned.

“Morning, Anna” he said then paused looking confused. “Where are we?”

“Out in the common room, we fell asleep out here last night.”

Harry then noticed that his hands were wrapped around Anna’s waist. “Sorry about that,” he muttered as he took his arms away from her.

Anna was disappointed as he took his arms off of her, but that was ok because they needed to get ready for school anyways. Anna started packing up her school papers and books, and once she was finished she gave Harry a quick kiss on the cheek and said, “Thanks for helping me last night Harry.” And with that she walked up to her dormitory and started getting ready for the day. Harry, momentarily frozen, figured he should go and get dress too, so he went to his dormitory where he was met by Ron who was wide awake and grinning.

“Out a bit late, eh mate? But that’s alright, im sure the two of you had some fun,” Ron said grinning widely.

“Oh shut it, Ron. We fell asleep doing homework and we just woke up,” Harry answered.

“A likely story, but seeing as you’re my best mate, I guess I believe you.” As Ron said this, Harry rolled his eyes.

In the girl’s dormitory, Anna was having a dilemma. She knew after that kiss between Draco and herself, he would be all over her, even more than usual. But she also knew that Harry liked her and she liked Harry. She liked being with Harry and could talk to him easily. Anna decided not to go down to breakfast and instead think some more. This way, she could avoid both Draco and Harry for the time being.

“Wait so why aren’t you going down to breakfast, Anna?” Hermione asked her.

“I just need some time to myself, and I’m not that hungry anyways.”

“Ok, well then I guess I’ll see you in Herbology, won’t I?”

“Yes, I’ll be there. Save me a spot k?”

“Sure thing! See you then!” and with that Hermione left leaving Anna alone to think things over.

Meanwhile in the Great Hall, Draco was looking for Anna. He wanted to ask her to the Hogsmeade that was this coming up weekend. Normally Draco would wait until the last possible moment to ask someone to Hogsmeade, but this time was different. Anna was a different kind of girl, and Draco knew that if he didn’t ask her soon, someone else would. Draco had a feeling that someone else who would ask her would be Potter. It became clear to Draco that Anna wasn’t coming to breakfast, and he hoped it didn’t have anything to do with their kiss last night. “Most girls like to be kissed like that right away” Draco thought to himself. “But then, Anna’s not like any other girl I’ve met.” For the rest of breakfast Draco was a bit upset hoping the kiss hadn’t weirded Anna out.

Later Anna met up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione in Herbology.

“Hey, Anna, where were you at breakfast this morning?” Ron asked.

“Oh… well… I wasn’t very hungry…. So I just stayed in my dormitory.” Anna said as she took an empty seat which was between Harry and Hermione. “Morning, Harry,” she said giving him another one of her famous smiles.

“Morning, Anna,” he replied.

Class was hard and boring, but Harry helped take the boring part of the class away by passing notes with her practically the whole class earning both of them glares from Hermione. When the bell rang, the four friends started making their way to Transfiguration. Suddenly Anna became very nervous because Gryffindors had Transfiguration with Slytherins, meaning she would have to see Draco sooner than she had hoped she would.

The moment the four friends walked into Transfiguration, Anna saw Draco. She felt her heart skip many beats as she remembered the way he had kissed her the night before. Anna sat down once again between Harry and Hermione. Once Draco saw Anna, he jumped to his feet and walked over to her much to Harry’s dislike.

“Anna,” he said. “I was looking for you this morning. Where were you?”

“I wasn’t that hungry, so I didn’t go to breakfast.”

”I was wondering if I could talk to you about yesterday.”

Anna knew that their conversation would soon turn into a conversation about the kiss. Not only did she not want to talk about it, she didn’t want to talk about it right in front of Harry.

“Well, Draco, class is about to start, so why don’t we talk after class and before lunch?” Anna asked him.

“Sure.” And with that, he gave her a small smile then walked back to his desk.

“What about yesterday does he want to talk to you about, Anna?” Hermione asked while Harry and Ron waited for an answer.

“I’ll tell you later,” Anna whispered softly to Hermione. Harry and Ron did NOT need to know what was going on between her and Draco.

All class Anna was dreading talking to Draco which is probably why the class went by extra fast.

Once the bell rang, Anna gathered up her books and said to her friends, “See you guys later at lunch.” Draco then came and the two walked out of the classroom together.

“So, where do you want to talk?” Anna asked him.

“I know a place, just follow me.”

The two walked in silence as Draco led Anna into a small unused classroom.

“No one ever comes in here, so no one will hear us talking,” he stated. He then looked down straight into her eyes and said, “Anna I like you.”

It took Anna a moment to process what he had just said because she was too busy getting lost in his beautiful grey eyes. Once she realized what he had just said she answered him with: “How do you know you like me Draco? We barely even know each other.”

Draco then laced his fingers in Anna’s and said, “Then give me the chance to get to know you. Will you go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?”

Anna took a moment to consider her options. She knew Harry would most likely ask her, and she liked Harry, she really did. On the other hand, however, maybe it would be a good idea to go with Draco, just to see what was going on between the two of them.

“Yes, Draco. I will go to Hogsmeade with you.”

And with that Draco smiled and bent down and kissed her briefly on the lips. “You will not regret this Anna Jameson. I’ll promise you that.”

Chapter 5: Hogsmeade
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 5!
Thanks for reading so far everyone! Make sure u review when you’re done with comments and suggestions!
Disclaimer: see something u recognize? Yeah that’s because its not mine.

When Harry had found out that Anna had made plans with Malfoy to go to Hogsmeade together, he was really upset. “Maybe Malfoy’s just the kind of guy she’s looking for, and if he is, then it’s understandable why she doesn’t want to be with me. I am absolutely nothing like Malfoy.” Harry thought to himself. But Harry wanted to have a good time at this Hogsmeade, and since Ron and Hermione would be going on a date, Harry didn’t want to go alone.

“Hey, Lavender!” Harry said getting her attention as she walked into the common room the day before the Hogsmeade visit.

“Hey, Harry!” she answered back smiling at him. Harry knew she liked him, and so then knew she would say yes when he asked her to Hogsmeade.

“Do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow?”

“Sure! That would be so much fun!” Lavender said with her face turning a bright shade of pink. “I’ll see you then!”

“Ok. Bye, Lavender.”

Anna, who had been sitting in the common room doing her homework, had just witnessed the whole thing and couldn’t help but feel a bit upset. “Oh, well,” she thought to herself. “It’s your own fault, Anna. You’re the one who agreed to go with Draco.”

The next morning Anna got dressed and paid extra close attention on how she looked. She was nervous about going to Hogsmeade with Draco and spending time alone with him for most of the day. Anna finally decided to straighten her hair and wear a short denim skirt with a light green fitted top that said ‘Kiss Me I’m Irish’ on it. Anna figured Draco would probably use what the shirt said on it as an excuse to kiss her, but Anna liked the shirt and wore it for that reason only.

Anna met Draco and the two waited in line together as the students were giving Filch their permission slips. Anna turned around and saw Harry with Lavender. Harry caught her eye and Anna saw him lace his fingers through hers as if to make Anna jealous.

“Fine,” she thought to herself. “If he wants to play like that, then so be it!” And with that, Anna turned and looked up at Draco and said “I’m really glad you asked me to go to Hogsmeade with you” while batting her eyelashes in a sexy way.

Draco, seeing an opportunity, slipped his hand around her waist and bent down and whispered in her ear “I’m glad I asked you too. And don’t worry, I promised you that you won’t regret coming with me, and you won’t.”

Anna smiled sweetly at him then chanced a glance back at Harry was looking upset and Anna knew he had just seen what had happened.

Finally Anna and Draco made their way into Hogsmeade and started a conversation about Quidditch. Anna realized that Draco really was easy to talk to. They then went into some shops and looked around. After a bit of shopping, Draco decided to take Anna into Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer. It was really crowed with Hogwarts students but they were able to find a small table close to the back of the place. Draco went to go get the drinks and Anna looked around to see who all was there.

Anna felt a pang in her heart as she saw Harry with Lavender, but she was happy to see that Harry was no longer holding her hand. Anna also saw Ron and Hermione sitting not too far away from Harry and Lavender looking as if all they could see were each other. Anna thought they made the cutest couple in the world, if only they didn’t argue so much. Anna’s thoughts were interrupted as Draco sat back down next to her and handed her a butterbeer.

“I’ve never had one before… are they good?” Anna asked Draco looking at her drink.

“Yeah, they taste great. Trust me.”

“Hmm… trust you… I guess I could try” Anna said jokingly and then took a sip from her drink. “Mmmm! This really is good!”

“I told you!”

“I guess you did.”

“I also told you that you wouldn’t regret coming here with me. Do you regret it?” Draco asked putting and arm around Anna’s shoulders.

“No, I really don’t,” she answered truthfully.

“Good.” And with that, Draco leaned in and began to kiss Anna.

It was just like the other kiss they had shared. Anna felt herself getting lost and she couldn’t think straight. Draco was the best kisser Anna had ever kissed. Draco was moved his arm from around her shoulders to around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Anna had her hand wrapped around his neck and never wanted the kiss to end, but suddenly Anna heard someone sneezing and she realized that they were making out in a public place. She soon pulled away from Draco who was smiling down at her as she caught her breath. Anna was so wrapped up in staring into Draco’s eyes that she didn’t even realize the Harry was glaring at her from across the room.

The afternoon at Hogsmeade had ended all too quickly for Anna. Draco walked her back to her common room and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. Anna was smiling nonstop as she walked into the common room and sat her self down next to Hermione.

“Well there is no need to ask if you had a good day or not,” Hermione said looking at the smile on Anna’s face.

“I had a great time, but Draco hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend yet. Do you think he assumes we’re going out?” She asked Hermione.

“Well don’t let him. He needs to ask you first.”

“True… So how was your day with Ron? I saw the two of you at the Three Broomsticks and y’all looked really happy.”

“It’s a miracle you were able to see us when it seemed like you were so wrapped up in Malfoy the whole time!” Hermione said and then laughed as Anna turned pink. “Well, we were having a good time, until we got into a small argument,” Hermione said sadly.

“Another one?!?” Anna asked. “What about this time?”

“Well he wanted to cut our date short so he could go and play Quidditch, but I got angry because he had said he wanted to spend the whole day with me.”

“Wow… don’t worry Hermione, I would have gotten mad too! So where is he now?” Anna asked looking around and noticing the lack of Ron.

Hermione sighed. “Playing Quidditch,” she answered.

“What?? So he left you so he could go play Quidditch??”

“Yeah… once I got angry he said some thing like ‘why do girls want to spend every moment with guys? Why can’t guys go and have a little fun too?’”

“Oh my god! So he practically said he wasn’t having fun with you??” Anna said in a shocked voice.

“Yeah… then after that I was really hurt and told him if he wanted to go and play Quidditch that would be fine with me because I had school work to do. And that’s why I am here now doing homework.”

“Aww Hermione I’m sorry! Guys are just losers like that. Don’t worry about it. He’ll come crawling back to you like he always does after he acts like a major prat.” Anna said sympathetically.

Anna was sitting with Hermione for a few moments while Hermione did homework as the portrait hole opened. Anna’s heart skipped several beats as she saw Harry walk in who was determinedly not looking at her. Anna then sighed and wondered if she was doing the right thing by being with Draco as she watched Harry walk over and talk to Lavender.

Making Up and Making Plans
Chapter 6
Disclaimer: yeah the characters aren’t mine… cept for anna.

Over the next week Anna avoided Harry because he was avoiding her. At first, when Anna attempted to talk to Harry, he walked away and started talking to Lavender. Quidditch tryouts came and went; Anna decided not to try out because she didn’t think it would be such a good idea being on the same team as Harry right now and also because she had so much school work to do and was barely keeping up with it.

Draco talked to Anna when ever he saw her and the two of them flirted with each other, but Draco hadn’t tried to kiss her again or hadn’t asked her out on another date yet, and Anna was wondering what was going on.

Hermione and Ron had made up during the earlier part of the week; Anna had walked into the common room early in the morning on her way to the Owlery where she found Hermione and Ron snogging. Anna decided not to interrupt them by making her presence known, not like they could hear her if she was saying anything anyways…

Soon, the first Quidditch match of the season was coming. Slytherin vs. Gryffindor. Draco had asked Anna to sit on the Slytherin side with his friends so she could cheer him on, but Anna told him that she wanted to sit on the Gryffindor side because it was her house after all. Gryffindor was her house, but the real reason she wanted to sit with the Gryffindors, was she hoped that Harry might see her over there and decide to talk to her again.

On the day of the match, Draco found Anna in the Great Hall. “Are you sure you want to sit on the Gryffindor side? You won’t be able to cheer for me over there,” he said slightly disappointed.

“No, I’m positive, Draco. I need to support my house. Good luck, though.” And with that, she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek which made Draco smile broadly. Anna was very surprised though that he didn’t take the opportunity to kiss her right then and there.

“Thanks for the luck, but I don’t need it to beat Potter and Weasley.” Draco said with a laugh, and with that, he gave Anna one last smile and walked off to get ready for the game.

Anna and Hermione walked to the Quidditch field together both wearing Gryffindor scarves. Once they got settled in their seats, they only talked for a few moments because then the game started.

The Captains (Harry and Draco) went and shook each other’s hands and it looked like they wanted to kill each other then and there. They then got ready and waited for Madam Hooch to let out the Quaffle.

It was a brutal match and Anna had to watch as Harry and Malfoy tried to knock each other off their brooms several times. Gryffindor was in the lead for the majority of the game and Harry caught the snitch in an extremely difficult dive. He held the snitch high in the air as he did a lap around the stadium. He looked down at his house section, and it was apparent from the look on his face that he was completely shocked to see Anna standing next to Hermione cheering her head off.

After the match there was a celebration in the Gryffindor Common Room. Anna was very please when Harry came over to talk to her at the beginning of the party.

“Anna, I’m really sorry I’ve been ignoring you lately. It’s just, I got so angry when I saw you and Malfoy together, but I guess you’re happy with him, and I can live with that.” Harry told her.

“Harry, I’m really sorry that you got upset when you saw the two of us together, but it’s ok. I mean we’re not a couple or anything. He hasn’t even asked me out on another date. I don’t really know what the two of us are.” Anna said.

Anna was very shocked when Harry gave her his lopsided smile and then bent down and kissed her softly on the lips. It was the sweetest kiss ever.

“I like you Anna,” he said after they had parted. “And I would be very happy if you went to the next Hogsmeade with me.” He asked her only turning slightly pink.

“Of course I’ll go with you Harry!!” she said smiling as wide as it was physically possible for her to do. “But wait, what about you and Lavender?”

“There is absolutely nothing between me and Lavender.” Harry answered simply.

“I don’t think she knows that,” Anna said as she took a glance at Lavender who was glaring at Anna.

“Fine, then I’ll tell her there is nothing going on between us.” He answered. “As long as I get to go out with you to Hogsmeade, then I’ll tell her anything.” As he said that, it was Anna’s turn to blush.

“Thanks,” was all she could manage.

“Are you going to talk to Malfoy?” Harry asked completely seriously.

Anna hadn’t even thought of this, but she knew she had to. She had wanted to go out with Harry since the first day of school. She wasn’t about to give this chance away.

“Of course I will… I’ll tell him tomorrow.” She answered, now completely dreading tomorrow.

“Good. Now, do you want to dance?”

Anna laughed and nodded, allowing Harry to take her to the dancing area where they spent most of their time, dancing with each other and no one else.

When the Gryffindors finally decided to go to sleep (which was after McGonagall coming and telling them to shut up and go to sleep a total of 6 times) and Harry walked Anna to her staircase.

“Night, Anna,” he said as he gave her another sweet kiss on the lips.

“Night, Harry,” Anna answered still in complete awe of all the things that had happened in the past couple of hours. Anna walked up the staircase and found Hermione waiting on her bed apparently wanting to know everything that had just happened that night between her and Harry. Anna sat down and told Hermione everything. Lavender, who shared the dormitory with them, never showed up that night. Parvati had told them that she was going to sleep in another one of her friend’s dormitory for the night.

Eventually Anna and Hermione decided to go to sleep. As Anna laid in her bed thinking about everything, she suddenly felt slightly sick as she remembered that she would have to talk to Draco the next day. Anna had no idea what she was going to tell him, but Anna was already imagining his reaction… and it wasn’t a good image in her mind.

Telling Draco
WOW!! Chapter 7!!!!!
Disclaimer: None of the characters are mine cept anna.

Anna woke up the next morning around 10 because it was the weekend. She lay in bed for a few moments thinking about her night with Harry. When danced with him… she never wanted his arms to leave her. The night ended much too soon for Anna and she couldn’t wait to see Harry today. Anna got out of bed and took a shower. Once out, she carefully chose what she was going to wear that day: tight black low rise pants and a hott pink tank that showed off a small bit of her flat stomach. Anna talked to Hermione as she got dressed.

“And when he kissed me…. It was like magic… you know? Like sparks….” Anna said with a great smile on her face.

“Yeah I completely understand. I feel the same way when I kiss Ron, but look Anna… I don’t want to bring you down or anything… but have you thought about what you’re going to say to Malfoy yet?” As Hermione said this the smile on Anna’s face quickly vanished.

“Shit! I forgot. Well… I guess I tell him… oh I don’t know… I’ll figure it out when I see him.” Which Anna hoped wouldn’t be for a while.

Anna and Hermione walked down to the Common Room together where Harry and Ron were waiting patiently on the couch for them. For some reason, Anna got really nervous and started to blush when Harry stood up and started walking towards her.

“Morning, Anna,” he said with his lopsided smile on his face.

“Morning, Harry,” Anna replied almost shyly. “What’s wrong with me?” She thought to her self. “I have butterflies the size of birds in my stomach. Get a grip on your self, Anna.” She told herself.

Harry then took her hand and entwined their fingers. “You look really, really nice today.”

“Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself!”

Harry and Anna stood there grinning at each other and just staring into each other’s eyes until the moment was broken by Ron was asked: “What are we going to do today? I hope its not stand around here and watch the two of you gaze into each other’s eyes like lovesick puppies.”

Hermione then announced “Well, I think Anna needs to find someone to talk to today.”

If looks could kill, Hermione would have been dead before you could say ‘Quidditch’. Anna loved Hermione and all… but didn’t she understand that she was dreading talking to him and didn’t need the reminder especially in front of Harry about talking to him.

“That’s right. When are you going to talk to him?” Harry asked in a very serious voice.

“Oh… I don’t know… I guess when I see him sometime today…” Anna said.

“Ok, well let’s not spend the day standing the Common Room, that for sure.” Ron said. “How about we go outside and maybe play some Quidditch?”

Harry’s eyes lit up and quickly agreed. Anna and Hermione rolled their eyes at each other… “Boys” they muttered at the same time then burst out laughing.

The four then walked down to the Quidditch Pitch and thankfully Draco was no where to be seen the whole way there. As they got to the pitch, they saw someone flying. At first, they didn’t make anything of it, but as they got closer, the platinum blond hair gave the identity away.

“Shit!” Anna muttered to herself. “We just had to come to play Quidditch where he just happens to be… Oh that’s great… really, really great.” Anna then stopped walking and pulled her hand away from Harry’s. Draco had noticed the four watching him and was flying down to the ground.

“Hey, Anna!” he said completely ignoring the other three.

“Uuh… h…hi Dr…Draco...” Anna managed to say, but stuttering over every word. She then took a deep breath and knew what she had to do… she wouldn’t have done it, but Harry, Hermione, and Ron were all watching at her so she had no choice. “Want to go for a walk?” she asked him.

“Yea, let’s go.”

Anna and Draco walked off together after Anna had said good-bye to her friends. Anna was walking with her arms crossed clutching her sides while refusing to look at Draco. Finally they had gone about 5 minutes in silence when Draco finally stopped walking, turned towards her, and asked: “So… why did you want to take a walk?”

“I need to tell you something.” Anna blurted out before she could have second thoughts about what she was going to say.

“Alright…” Draco said with his voice trailing off. Concern was all over his face. “What’s wrong? Are you alright?”

“Yea, I’m fine, but I need to tell you something.” She said again as she still avoided looking at him.

“Yes, you told me that already, but you’re not telling me what it is that you need to tell me. And why won’t you look at me? Anna look at me.” He said almost commandingly.

Anna forced herself to look into his gray eyes. The same gray eyes that used to make her nervous; the same gray eyes that used to send shivers down her spine, but they didn’t make her feel that way anymore. When she looked into them now, she began to feel afraid and cold. She didn’t like looking into those eyes anymore, but she forced herself to. She was going to look him in the eye when she told him she made a date with Harry and there could no longer be anything between the two of them.

Anna took another deep breath and said, “I talked to Harry last night… during the party in the Common Room… and,” she paused to take another deep breath before she continued. “And… he kissed me then asked me out to the next Hogsmeade and I agreed to go with him.” Anna said this last part very quickly and in a very small voice.

Draco was silent for a few moments, but the look on his face was murderous. Finally, when he spoke, he said “I’ll kill Potter.” And with that he practically ran off to where Harry, Ron, and Hermione still were at the Quidditch Pitch with the murderous look still on his face.

Chapter 8: The Fight

Chapter 8
The Fight
Disclaimer: only the other characters are mine

Anna ran as fast as she could so she could keep up with Draco; he was headed straight towards Harry. Once they came into eye sight of each other, Harry turned and saw Draco coming, but it was too late, Draco had reached Harry and punched him straight in the nose.

“Draco! Draco, stop it!” Anna yelled. She then ran towards Harry to see if he was alright. His nose was bleeding, but it looked like he could care less, he had his mind set on beating the crap out Draco. After all these years of never acting out his feelings towards him, an opportunity came and he wasn’t going to miss out on it.

Harry made his way towards Draco with his fists out ready to fight completely forgetting about his wand. Harry threw a punch at Draco and in a matter of seconds they were caught up in a full fledged fight. They were hitting each other in any place they could reach.

“You stole my girl Potter! I could kill you!” Draco could be heard yelling.

“She was never your girl Malfoy, but now she’s mine so get over it!” Harry yelled back at him.

Anna tried to pull Draco off of Harry as Hermione and Ron tried to pull Harry away from Draco. Hermione finally took out her wand and set off a loud fire cracker noise. Harry and Draco both looked up in surprise and Ron and Anna took this as an opportunity to pull them away from each other.

Anna looked at the two of them completely appalled. They were both standing there glaring at each other; clothes ripped bruises forming, and blood every where.

“The two of you are the most idiotic pair of children I have ever had the misfortune to meet!” Anna screamed at the pair of them and for the first time they both looked at her.

“Sorry, Anna.” They both muttered as they each avoided her eyes.

“Draco, as I told you earlier today, it’s over between the two of us.” Anna said to Draco as Harry smiled. “Harry I wouldn’t be so happy if I were you!” she yelled. “I refuse to go out with you until you learn how to act your age.” Anna’s face was red from yelling, but also from anger. “And I am no man’s girl to be fought over like a thing instead of a person.” She yelled as loud as she could, and with that, she turned away from them and walked back to the castle completely furious with the pair of them.

Harry and Draco both stood there open mouthed staring at Anna as she walked away from them.

“Come on Harry, let’s get you to Madam Pomfrey and have her clean you up.” Hermione said to him.

“Whatever.” Harry muttered as he shoved his hands into his pockets. Draco walked off towards the castle slowly. If this had been any other case, Harry would have ran after him and punched him again, but then he would be doing the opposite of what Anna wanted and he didn’t want to do that. Harry, Ron, and Hermione slowly made their way back up to the castle to go and see Madam Pomfrey.

Once they got there, she was already seeing Draco. She could be heard muttering under her breath, “Teenage fights, these children and their hormones… what will we do with you Mr. Malfoy?” she then saw Harry walk into the infirmary and then said, “Ah, Mr. Potter, I see you have been the one Mr. Malfoy has been fighting no doubt… well, let’s get you cleaned up.”

Madam Pomfrey had both Draco and Harry spend the night in the infirmary but made sure that their beds were as far away from as each other as they possibly could be in hopes of preventing any more fights. Hermione and Ron both left Harry, but only because Madam Pomfrey shouted about her patients needing peace and quiet so they could rest.

All night Harry didn’t even look Draco’s way, it would have hurt him too much to think about how his stupid fight with him was the reason Anna was angry. Harry eventually fell asleep thinking of ways of making it up to Anna, but what he didn’t know was that Draco was thinking the same thing.

Chapter 9: Moving On and Tears
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter Title: Moving On and Tears
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

The next day, Harry and Draco were both released by Madam Pomfrey, but only after she gave them a good scolding to about fighting. Thankfully, the scolding didn’t last that long and Harry went to go and find Anna immediately. He didn’t know if it was such a good idea to find her so soon after what happened yesterday, but he knew he wanted to talk to her before Malfoy had the chance to. Harry walked up to the Gryffindor Common Room where he found Anna sitting by the fire with Hermione. The Common Room was empty except for the two seeing as it was a Saturday and everyone was outside enjoying a day free of classes. Hermione looked up and saw Harry walking across the Common Room towards the two of them. Hermione, realizing that she should not be around while the two talked said, “Um, Anna… I’m going to go down to the library. I completely forgot that there’s something I need to look up before classes on Monday. I’ll talk to you later.” And with that, Hermione got up and left the Common Room.

Anna looked up to see where Hermione had gone so suddenly and saw Harry approaching her. She stood up and quickly started walking towards the girls’ dormitory. She was only stopped when Harry ran in front of her to block her way.

“Anna, please let me talk to you about what happened yesterday, please let me explain.” Harry said in a pleading voice.

“Harry, there is no need to explain anything, I was there remember? I saw the whole thing.” She said as she carefully avoided his beautiful green eyes that could make her stomach flip.

“No, Anna, I really want to apologize for the way I acted. You were right. I did act like an idiotic child yesterday, but that was only because the thought of Malfoy being with you makes me sick in the stomach. I want to be the only one you are with, Anna. I think we have something here, and I don’t want to miss out on an opportunity for something really good. Anna, tell me please. Am I wasting my time trying to get you to be with me? Should I just move on?” Harry asked softly as he stepped closer to her never taking his eyes off of her.

“Harry,” Anna said in a whisper that was barely audible as she finally looked into his eyes. “I don’t know what to say.”

“Well, Anna, if your answer was ‘No, Harry, don’t move on. I want to be with you.’ It wouldn’t be so hard to figure out what to say, but seeing as you don’t know what to say, I can take that as an indication that you think I am wasting my time and I should move on.” Harry said in a sad voice.

“Harry, no that’s not what I meant when I said ‘I don’t know what to say,’” Anna said as she began to try to explain what was going in her mind to Harry.

“Well, did it mean that you want to be with me?” Harry asked her simply.

“No,” Anna replied with great difficulty.

“I see,” Harry said and Anna could see the pain in his eyes. “So you think I should move on?”

“No,” Anna replied once again.

“So, basically, you don’t know what you want and you want me to stick around until you do figure out what you want and the whole time I should just be hoping that I’m the one you want to be with?”

Anna didn’t want to reply because that was exactly how she felt. She didn’t want to tell Harry no until she was absolutely sure she didn’t want to be with him, but she also didn’t want him to be off with other girls while she was trying to make up her mind. If she did choose him, she wouldn’t want him to have moved on.

Harry understood her lapse into silence and her avoidance of looking into his eyes for exactly what it was. That was exactly what she planned on doing to him, making him think about her all the time and hope he will be the one she wants to be with in the end. She wanted to string him along until the last possible moment, and Harry was not going to take that.

“Anna, since you obviously can’t make up your mind right now, I’ll make the decision here. I’m going to give up on you and what ever possibility of something that we might have had between us. I don’t want to, but I think it’s the smartest thing to do.”

“No, Harry, you don’t mean that.” Anna said as she looked into his eyes. She didn’t want to lose the possibility of him. As bad as it sounded even to her self, she knew it was true. She wanted to string him along so she wouldn’t have to make her decision until a later point in time.

“No, Anna, I really do mean it.” Harry said and with that he looked into her eyes and she knew he meant it. He was done chasing her around trying to make her fall in love with him. “I’ll talk to you later, Anna. I have to go.” And with that Harry walked away from Anna leaving her alone standing in the Gryffindor Common Room. After a few minutes of standing in the same spot by the staircase where Harry had left her, Anna decided to go and lie down on her bed and think about everything that had just happened. She quickly walked into her dormitory and threw herself on her bed finally giving in to the mad desire to cry that she had been holding in since she was talking to Harry. Eventually, Anna cried herself to sleep, but before she drifted into sleep, in the back of her mind she couldn’t help but think “At least I still have Draco.”

Chapter 10: In the rain
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter Title: In the Rain
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

The next day was Sunday. It was rainy and cold outside; perfect weather that suited Anna’s mood. Anna was so depressed that she didn’t get out of bed until Hermione came in at about noon and pulled her out of bed and forced her to get dressed or else she would curse her.

“Fine!” Anna exclaimed after Hermione threatened her with a curse. “Next time you’re in a state of depression, Hermione, I’ll be sure to drag you out of bed.” Hermione just rolled her eyes and waited for Anna to get dressed.

After Anna dressed, she asked, “Now what?”

Well, I thought maybe we could go down and get some lunch seeing as you skipped breakfast and then work on homework that’s due tomorrow because we can’t do anything outside due to the weather.”

“Lunch sounds good,” Anna admitted but she didn’t say anything about the homework. Hermione and Anna walked down to the Great Hall where lunch was just starting. They chose to sit with Ginny at the end of the table far away from everyone else. What hurt Anna the most was that Harry hadn’t even looked her way once to see how she was. Hermione and Ginny were wrapped up in their own discussion and Anna was glad that that didn’t make her join in. She would rather just sit there and focus on eating her lunch with out looking Harry’s way every five seconds. Maybe, though, if she hadn’t been so focused on not looking Harry’s way she would have noticed that a certain handsome blonde boy was staring at her all lunch from the Slytherin table.

Anna looked up at the ceiling and saw the dark clouds; she then realized it was not only rain, but pouring. “I have to go,” she said suddenly to Hermione and Ginny.

“Go where?” Hermione asked. “I thought we were going to do homework after lunch Anna.”

“I realized that there’s something I need to do. I’ll be back in a while. I’ll meet you in the Gryffindor Common Room later on.” Anna said as she stood up and started walking out of the Great Hall.

Draco, whose gaze was still upon Anna, saw her get up from the table and start to leave alone. “I have to go,” Draco said to Crabbe and Goyle who were sitting near him. He doubted that they even heard him though; they were too busy stuffing their face with food. Draco then walked out of the Great Hall keeping Anna in sight.

Anna, once out of the Great Hall, ran towards the giant oak doors that led to the outside. She pulled them open then ran straight into the pouring rain. Draco, who was still following her, was utterly bewildered. He opened up the oak doors and stepped into the rain.

Draco squinted through the rain in hopes of seeing where Anna had run off to. He started walking around looking in every direction, but it was raining too hard to see more than a few feet around him.

Anna had stopped running and lifted up her arms into the air, closed her eyes, and started twirling around. She felt like a little kid again. Ever since she was little, she would go and play in the rain and it would make her feel better no matter what. As Anna got drenched with water all thoughts about Harry seemed to slip away. It was like she had stopped time and was having a moment of peace.

Finally Draco spotted her. “What is she doing?” he thought to himself as he saw her twirling around in the rain with her hands in the air. Then Draco saw her do something that made him burst out laughing. Anna started to dance. It was like the rain and thunder were her music. Good thing the rain was so loud she didn’t hear him.

Anna was dancing like she’d never danced before. She was alone and free. She could be anyone she wanted in the rain. Suddenly, arms wrapped around her waist and she felt her heart stop. Anna spun around to see that Draco was the one with his arms wrapped around her. His white-blonde hair was sticking to his face and water was dripping off his nose.

Draco took a good look at Anna as she stood there momentarily shocked in his arms. Her hair was dripping wet and her clothes were stuck tight to her body. Draco had never seen such a hott girl in his life. No girl had ever made him feel the way he was feeling right at that moment as he looked down at her.

“Draco, you almost gave me a heart attack!” Anna said. “What are you doing out here?”

“Watching an angel dance,” he replied with out taking his arms away from her waist, but instead pulling her even closer so their bodies were pressed as close as they possibly could be against each other. Their faces were soon so close to each other’s that their noses were practically touching. Draco finally leaned the rest of the way in and kissed her passionately on the lips.

How long they had been kissing, Anna didn’t know. She barely even realized that they were outside in the pouring rain. Some how they were both sitting on the ground, Anna in Draco’s lap. They both took their time exploring each other’s mouths in ways that they never had the chance to before. It was finally when Draco’s hand went a little too far that Anna snapped back to reality. She regretfully pulled away and took his hand off of the area it was previously on.

The two sat there both looking into each other’s eyes trying to catch their breath. Draco then began to play with some of Anna’s hair with one hand and rested the other on her thigh. He never took his eyes away from Anna’s though. Draco then leaned back in to kiss her again and Anna let him.

Finally the two separated and Anna got up from Draco’s lap. Draco stood up as well and wrapped his arm around her waist. Together the two walked back up to the castle then Draco walked her to the Gryffindor Common Room. The whole way, neither spoke. It wasn’t an awkward silence though, instead a comfortable one. Once they got to the portrait of the Fat Lady, Draco leaned in for another kiss until she pulled away.

“Want to go to the next Hogsmeade with me?” Draco asked her softly.

“Yeah, I would really like that,” Anna replied.

“Ok, well I let you go. Bye my beautiful dancing angel.” Draco said. He stole one last kiss from her then let her walk through the Portrait Hole.

“Anna! There you are!” Hermione shrieked as Anna walked through the Portrait Hole causing everyone in the Common Room to look up, including Harry. “What happened to you? You’re soaking!”

“I was in the rain.” Anna said simply with a wide smile on her face. She had just snogged Draco in the rain, in the pouring rain. She knew she must have looked like an idiot standing in the middle of the Common Room sopping wet with a huge smile on her face, but for one of the first times, she didn’t care what the other people thought. Anna let Hermione lead her into the girl’s dormitory. Anna sat on her bed causing a giant wet mark as Hermione turn the shower water on for her.

“Anna, go take a shower or you’ll get sick if you aren’t already.” Hermione said in a strict voice.

“Ok, Hermione.” Anna answered and then went into the shower. Afterwards, forgetting about homework, Anna laid down and fell asleep.

Chapter 11: Monday Morning Breakfast
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 11 Title: Monday Morning Breakfast
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

The next day Anna woke up with a smile on her face even though it was a Monday and she hated Mondays. As Anna was getting ready for classes, Hermione asked her if she was ever going to tell her what happened the previous night.

“All you said was you were in the rain… and I know the rain is great and all Anna, but its not enough to make you grin like an idiot… the way you are right now…” Hermione said.

“Ok, ok, fine Hermione.” Anna said with a smile. “I was out in the rain last night to clear my head after everything that had happened… and it turns out that Draco had followed me and we… kissed in the rain.” Anna said deciding that telling Hermione she had snogged Draco for who knows how long in the rain would be a bit too much information. “Then he walked me back to the Common Room and before he left he asked me to go to the next Hogsmeade with him.” Anna said and her smile got even wider if that was possible.

“So you’re over Harry then?” Hermione asked.

“Most definitely!” Anna said. She then started jumping up and down the room and dancing. “I’m going on a date with Draco! He kissed me! He liiiiiiiiikes me!” she yelled as she danced around the room which made Hermione go into a fit of giggles. Anna joined in and the two walked down into the Common Room still giggling like crazy. Harry and Ron were both waiting down and looked up when they saw the two girls giggling.

“Have you two gone mad?” Ron asked very concerned for his girlfriend.

This only made the two giggle harder. Finally after they were able to regain seriousness and their face turned back to normal color, Harry asked them “So what’s so funny?”

“Anna dancing around the room like an idiot.” Hermione blurted out then giggled again.

“What can I say? I’m in too good of a mood to not dance!” Anna said with a happy smile. Anna then linked arms with Hermione and the two skipped out of the Common Room leaving the two boys standing there staring after them.

“Well, maybe we should go to breakfast now…” Harry said.

“Yeah, but I’m not too sure I want to sit with them if their going giggle the whole time…” Ron said making Harry chuckle.

“Same here mate.”

They then walked into the Great Hall and saw Hermione sitting by herself with Anna no where to be seen.

“Where did Anna go, Hermione?” Harry asked her.

The response Harry got was not a very good one. She started giggling again then said, “I don’t think you’d really want to know, Harry.”

“Why not?” Harry asked in a surprised voice. “What’s she doing that’s so bad that I wouldn’t want to know?”

“Well, it’s a matter of what she’s doing and who she’s doing it with…” Hermione managed to say with out giggling.

Anna and Hermione skipped happily down towards the Great Hall leaving the two confused boys behind in the Gryffindor Common Room. They were just about to enter the Great Hall when a pair of arms grabbed Anna around the waist pulling her away from Hermione. Anna turned around and smiled when she saw it was Draco.

“Hermione, do you think I could borrow Anna for a while?” Draco asked Hermione with a mischievous smile although he never took his eyes away from Anna.

“Be my guest! I was just wondering how I could get rid of her.” Hermione said. “See you later, Anna.” Hermione said with a laugh.

Draco pulled Anna by the arm into an empty classroom where he pushed her up against the wall and then looked down into her eyes.

“Morning my sexy dancing angel,” he whispered softly before he bent down to kiss her which she happily accepted. The two kissed for a bit before Anna broke away after a few minutes which was extremely hard for her to do.

“Draco, as much as I would love to stay here and make out with you, I’m starving and I need some breakfast.” Anna said which made Draco put on a sad face. “Don’t give me that face, Draco. Do you really want me to starve and then die?”

“Well, when you put it that way… I guess I could allow you to go and eat something.”

“How considerate of you, Draco.” Anna said rolling her eyes then laughing. She then stood on her tip toes and kissed him one last time before the two walked into the Great Hall with Draco holding Anna around the waist. Draco bent down and gave Anna one last kiss before letting go of her.

“See you later, Anna.” Draco said and then walked off to the Slytherin table and Anna walked to the Gryffindor table taking a seat next to Hermione.

“Where were you?” Ron asked her right when she sat down.

Anna started to blush and didn’t meet eyes with him. She did how ever look at Hermione who was laughing at her.

“Hermione shut up.” Anna said trying to force herself to stop blushing.

“I know where Anna was…” Hermione exclaimed in a sing song voice to tease her. This only made Anna blush deeper. “Anna!” Hermione said in a mock shocked voice. “Why on earth are you blushing? Because the only reason I can think of is that you were off snogging some boy…”

“HERMIONE!” Anna said in a shocked voice. “I can’t believe you! See if I ever tell you anything ever again!” Anna said with a laugh.

“So, who were you snogging then?” Ron asked bluntly.

“Ok, that I refuse for you to tell him, Hermione so don’t even think about opening you mouth.” Anna said to Hermione.

“Fine, fine… have it your way.” Hermione said.

Harry sat back and watched the whole conversation between Anna, Hermione, and Ron. He then turned and looked down at his food. “Thanks to Hermione, I do know was she had just been snogging someone which was probably the reason she was so happy this morning.” Harry reasoned with himself. “The question was who? Wait! Why am I thinking this? Why am I so interested? Didn’t I just tell Anna two days ago that I was over her and she could go and be with someone else?” Harry didn’t know why he was so disgruntled with the news about Anna snogging another guy, but for some reason… he was. Harry looked up from his breakfast and looked at Anna’s face which had finally turned back to its normal tanned color.

Hermione looked up and saw Harry staring at Anna with a confused look on his face. She looked over and saw that Anna wasn’t paying the least bit of attention to him and therefore didn’t notice that Harry was staring at her. Oh, it was too easy to tease Anna about this whole mess… Hermione was so glad that she finally had a best friend that was a girl so she could have someone to tease.

“I know who Anna’s thinking of…” Hermione said in her sing song voice. “Could it be - ” Hermione stopped and put a fake face on her face that gave her the look of someone who was thinking really, really hard. Anna was vaguely reminded of Ron as he tried to do Potions homework. “Dean Thomas?”

Anna was so startled at the name that she burst into laughter that was so loud that caused almost the entire Gryffindor table to look at her. “Umm…. I’m thinking no Hermione.”

“Darn,” Hermione said in a teasing voice. “I thought I had it. Oh, oh! I know! Seamus Finnigan” Hermione asked which made Anna shake her head. “Darn…”

Ron had decided that he really wanted to know who she had been snogging so he joined in on the guessing. “What about Neville?”

Anna and Hermione both rolled their eyes at the same time. “He’s going out with Luna, Ronald.” Hermione said in an exasperated voice.

“Ernie Macmillan?” Ron guessed.

“You mean the Hufflepuff? Yeah… um, no.”

Harry decided to stay out of the guessing game because he didn’t want to make it seem obvious that he wanted to know who she had been snogging too. Apparently Hermione could tell this by the look on his face and said, “Care to take a guess, Harry?”

Harry was a bit startled by her inviting him in to guess, but he asked Anna a question about her mystery guy anyways. “What year is he in?” he asked her.

“Seventh.” Anna said with a smile. For some reason the smile had the same effect as it always did on Harry, it made his heart stop and his stomach flip.

“Which house?” Ron asked hoping that he would find the answer soon. Before Anna could answer, the bell rang.

“Saved by the bell, Anna.” Hermione said.

“I sure was!” Anna said laughing. “Come on! Let’s go to Transfiguration.”

“Uh, with Slytherins,” Ron said in a disgusted voice. “What a way to start the week.”

“What a way to start the week indeed.” Anna said with a smile. “I just love Transfiguration.” Hermione laughed at this then laughed at both Harry and Ron’s confused faces. The four then started on their way to Transfiguration where Anna couldn’t wait to see Draco again.

Chapter 12: By the Lake
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 12 Title: by the lake
Disclaimer: nothing is mine except for my other characters.

Anna and Draco sat in their usual seats during Transfiguration which unfortunately happened to be very far apart. Anna couldn’t help but look up very often just to look at Draco. Sometimes he would look up and catch her looking at him which made him put his trademark smirk on his face, but sometimes Anna would look up to look at him only to find that he was already looking at her. Hermione was completely aware of what was going on between the two of them and every time the two managed to look up at the same time, and Anna blushed, Hermione tried her hardest to not burst out laughing which earned her several looks from her boyfriend, Ron, who was wondering if she had gone mental.

Hermione wasn’t the only one who was noticing what was going on between Draco and Anna. Harry had noticed when he looked at Anna who was staring across the room at Draco who was smiling back at her. Harry wanted to be sick. “So she did choose Malfoy over me,” Harry thought to himself. “Well, then it’s a good thing I told her I was moving on or else she would have ended up hurting me even more.” Harry tried to reason with himself. Harry couldn’t stand to watch the two of them any more so he decided to play hangman on a “spare bit of parchment” with Ron.

When class was over, it was time for lunch and Harry was extremely glad because that long class of Transfiguration had thoroughly exhausted him. Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Anna were all about to leave together for the Great Hall when a certain blonde haired Slytherin came walking over to the four friends.

“Hey, Anna.” He said smoothly completely ignoring her friends. “May I have the great honor in walking you to lunch?” Draco asked her in a teasing voice that made Anna laugh.

“Well, it is a great honor to walk me to lunch, Draco.” She replied. “So great of an honor that I’m not so sure you deserve to walk me to lunch.” Anna replied teasing him back.

“Really?” he asked with a smirk, “then I’ll just let you have the honor of walking me to lunch.”

“Oh, what a wonderful honor, I would love to walk you to lunch.” Anna said with a smile that made Harry sick to his stomach. “See you later Hermione” she said to her friend, “Bye Ron, Harry.” Anna said as she then followed Draco out of the room leaving a very shocked Ron and a very upset Harry as they saw Draco put his arm around Anna’s waist.

“Was Malfoy the one she was off snogging this morning??” Ron asked in a disgusted voice.

“Well, I don’t really know if they were snogging…” Hermione said with a smile, “but I do know she was with him.”

“That’s disgusting…” Ron muttered to himself.

“Well, Ronald, she can’t help the fact that she’s attracted to him. No one has control over things like that.” Hermione answered in a snippy voice. Truth be told, Hermione was a bit jealous of Anna and Draco. Draco wanted to be with her and snog while her boyfriend, Ron the git, only thought about Quidditch and food.

Ron ignored his girlfriend and directed his attention to his empty stomach, “Can we go, now? I’m starved.” Harry shrugged and Hermione rolled her eyes.

When the three walked into the Great Hall, Anna was already sitting there saving seats for them. “Hey,” she said to Hermione as she sat down next to her. “What’s wrong?” Anna asked in a concerned voice when she saw an upset look on her best friend’s face.

“I’ll tell you later...” Hermione said with her voice trailing off.

“No,” Anna said firmly. “Tell me now. Come one we can go and take a walk by the lake.” Anna said as she grabbed her arm and pulled her up causing both Harry and Ron to look at them.

“Where are you guys going?” Ron asked with a large amount of food in his mouth.

Other than rolling her eyes at Ron, she completely ignored his question. When Hermione didn’t answer, Anna did. “We’re going to go and take a walk and have a girl to girl moment.”

Ron thankfully swallowed his food before he then asked, “A what?”

“A girl to girl chat Ron, nothing you would be interested in… just talking about cute boys and clothes and make up and stuff like that.” Anna said in a singsong voice.

"Cute boys, eh? So, basically you want to go and talk about me.” Ron said with a smile on his face.

“Eww, gross Ron. I said we were going to talk about cute boys,” Anna said stressing the word cute which made both Hermione and Harry both laugh and Ron turn red around his ears. “See you later!” Anna called out to Ron and Harry and waved goodbye as she pulled Hermione by the arm out side. Once they were outside they sat down by the lake and Anna turned to Hermione and said, “Ok, so spill.”

Hermione kept her gaze fixed on the water of the lake. She then answered Anna in a quiet voice. “I think I want to break up with Ron,” she said completely startling Anna. It was quiet between them for a couple of moments before Hermione spoke again, but this time in a louder and a more confident voice; “No, I’m sure I want to break up with him.”

Before Anna could find an answer to Hermione, they both heard a voice behind them. “You what??”

Chapter 13: Remember Adam
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 13
Chapter title: Remembering Adam
Disclaimer: I own nothing except for my other characters!

Anna and Hermione turned around quickly and saw no other than Ron standing there looking completely flabbergasted (lol I’ve always wanted to use that word :D). “Did you just say that you want to break up with me?” Ron asked her in a stunned voice that matched the look on his face.

Hermione stood up and walked over to Ron. She stopped when she was right in front of him and took a deep breath, “It’s now or never, Hermione.” She told herself and then looked Ron in the eye and said, “Yes, Ron. I said that I want to break up with you.”

“Why?!?” Ron exclaimed and Anna felt akward because she was still sitting by the lake and was now listening to her best friend break up with another one of her best friends. She didn’t want to interrupt them so she stayed where they were trying to focus her attention on something else.

“I’ll tell you why! Because you are a terrible boyfriend, Ronald Weasley! That’s why!” Hermione answered in a loud voice.

“And why is that?” Ron retorted in an equally loud voice.

“Because you don’t act like you’re my boyfriend! You never want to spend time alone with me, you never try to hold my hand or anything like that, and all you care about is Quidditch and food!” Hermione exclaimed.

From what Anna knew of Ron, she would have assumed that after an answer like that he would have stood there with his mouth hanging open like an idiot, but Ron did something that neither Hermione or Anna was expecting from him. Ron grabbed Hermione around the waist and pulled her into a deep kiss. Anna couldn’t help but watch as Hermione pushed away from Ron then slapped him across the face.

“RONALD WEASLEY HOW DARE YOU TRY TO KISS ME AND THINK THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE OK!” Hermione yelled with immense fury in her voice.

“Yeah, so I think I’ll leave now…” Anna said quietly. Ron and Hermione didn’t even notice as Anna got up and walked back to the castle. Before she walked into the castle she could still hear Hermione yelling at Ron and Ron pleading with Hermione to give him another chance.

Anna walked back into the Great Hall and sat herself down next to Harry.

“Where are Ron and Hermione?”

“Out by the lake…” Anna answered with her voice trailing off.

Before Harry could ask anymore questions, the bell sounded signaling them to go to class, History with Binns. Anna was extremely glad that she didn’t need to answer anymore of Harry’s questions because it wasn’t her information to tell.

The two walked to History together in a bit of an awkward silence. Class began and Ron and Hermione never showed up. Anna was shocked that she was ditching class to talk to Ron. Anna wondered vaguely if they were making up, or if they were still busy yelling at each other. All class, however, Anna couldn’t get the look on Ron’s face out of her mind. The look he gave Hermione as he pleaded with her trying to get her to give him a second chance. There was something so familiar about the look he had given Hermione but Anna couldn’t figure out what it was. Then, she figured it out. It was the same look Anna’s brother, Adam, gave her once when Anna was screaming at him for something… “Why was I screaming at my brother?” she wondered to herself. “Probably something stupid.” This was one of the first times at Hogwarts Anna had thought about Adam. Everything here kept her mind off of what had happened to her in the past. As Adams face came to mind, tears filled her eyes. Adam was her best friend, not only her twin. They were closer than any two people could be. They shared everything with each other. Anna let the tears stream down her face as she remembered all the times she would get into trouble with Adam.

Harry had been looking at Anna for sometime, now. She had the weirdest expression on her face. She looked as if she was trying hard to remember something, something that was painful. He was shocked to see her eyes fill with tears and then moments later have them fall down her face.

“Anna, what’s the matter?” Harry asked in a concerned voice.

Anna snapped out of her memories of her brother and was brought back to real life. She turned and looked to see who was talking to her, it was Harry.

“I was just thinking about things….” Anna said softly.

“Anna, what is it? You know you can tell me.” He said in a very soothing voice.

“I… I was thinking about… my brother.”

“Adam?” Harry asked softly in the same voice. Anna had told him about her brother Adam early this year. All Harry knew was that they were very close and he died right before she came to London.

“Yeah...” Anna said in a distant voice.

Anna barely heard the bell ring and it wasn’t until she and Harry were the last people in the room until he asked cautiously, “Anna, you coming?”

“What?” Anna said looking around and seeing that the classroom was empty. “Yeah I’m coming.”

The two gathered their things and walked out of the class together with Anna sniffling.

“Are you coming to dinner?” Harry asked although he could have figured the answer out by himself.

“No, I’m not really that hungry.” Anna said.

“Ok, I understand. I’ll see you later ok, maybe in the Common Room?”

“Yeah, maybe…” Anna said then walked away from Harry, who went to dinner by himself, towards the Gryffindor House. She kept walking not even noticing Hermione sitting in the Common Room talking to Ron. She ran up the stairs to her dormitory and flung herself on her bed letting the tears flow freely. She sobbed as all the memories came flooding back to her. she remembered why Adam had that look on his face, what she had said to him to make him make that face, she remembered everything that happened that night. Anna began to remember the night she would love to forget, but knew she’d never be able to...

Chapter 14: Memories Return
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 14 title: Memories return
Disclaimer: nothing is mine except for my other characters

“Adam, I can not believe you!” Anna screamed as loud as she possibly could to her twin brother, Adam. “How dare you talk to my boyfriend and tell him how he can and cannot treat me.”

“Anna, I only told him because he’s going to use you for what he wants and then drop you like that.” Adam answered her back trying to refrain from yelling at his sister who was younger than him by three minutes.

“Patrick is not like that! He cares about me! He would never do something like that to hurt me.” Anna said in a dangerously soft voice that was shaking with anger. “Now he’s going to think that I’m a little girl who can’t take care of herself and now needs her older brother talking about treating girls right!”

There was a pause when Anna glared at Adam and Adam looked at her the way he always did when he looked at her, full of love. There was no one in the world that Adam loved more than his sister Anna. He would die for her in a heart beat and they were best friends.

“Get out.” Anna said suddenly.

“What?” Adam asked Anna in a confused voice. His sister had gotten angry at him before in the past but never had she told him to ‘get out’ when they were in the middle of an argument. They had always solved their problems instead of walking away from each other and making things worse.

“You heard me. I said get out.”

“Anna, please this is stupid.” Adam said trying to keep Anna talking so they could sort everything out.

“Don’t talk to me about stupid, Adam!” She yelled at him. “Get out now! I never want to see you again! I HATE you!”

There was another pause where the silence was so thick it could have been cut with a knife.

“Anna…” Adam said with his voice trailing off. “Anne you don’t mean that.” He said as he looked at her with pleading eyes that were beginning to fill with tears. Never before had she said she hated him. Adam couldn’t stand the person he loved the most in the world telling him she hated him.

“No, Adam, I do. Now get out of my room and stay out!” Anna screamed as she began to push Adam out of her room.

Before she was able to shut the door, Adam looked her in the eye and said, “Anna, I love you and I never meant to hurt you.”

“Yeah, well you did. And I seriously wish I could say the same to you, but I can’t.” And with that Anna slammed the door in his face. It was the last time she ever saw her brother.

She went over to her bed and cried for a few minutes than began to think. “He should know that he can trust me.” She thought angrily. “And he made me seem like a baby to Patrick. He’s probably going to break up with me because he doesn’t think I’m mature enough for him…” Anna was 16 and her boyfriend, Patrick Lane, was 19; her parents and Adam didn’t like her going out with some one older than her and more experienced than her, but they knew they had no control over who she could and could not date.

Anna heard Adam’s car start up in the drive way and she heard him drive off. She didn’t think much of it; Adam always went out for a drive when he needed to clear his head. Anna looked over at her clock which read 11:42. Her parents still weren’t home yet from their dinner party and her sister was off with her boyfriend. Anna knew that if her parents came home soon and Adam was gone, they were going to be angry. Tonight the two of them were supposed to stay home because they were both grounded from throwing a party when her parents were out of town.

Anna went and looked around her room at her pictures. There was hardly a picture in the room that didn’t have Anna and Adam together in it. There were pictures of them together when they both got their letters excepting them into their first wizarding school, pictures of them together with friends laughing, pictures of them at school dances, and others.

Anna knew she didn’t mean to say what she had said to him. She loved him more than any other person in the world. He had to know that. “I’ll tell him when he gets home.” Anna thought to herself as she lay down and fell asleep after she looked at the clock which said 12:03.

Anna wasn’t asleep for very long, ten minutes in fact, before her mother and father came barging into her room.

“Anna Elizabeth Jameson!” Her mother yelled. “Where the hell is Adam? His car is gone and he’s not in his room!”

Anna got up and didn’t even have to look at her parents to know they were pissed off. “We got into an argument, so he went to take a drive. He left a little over half an hour ago. He should be back anytime soon.”

“You and Adam had an argument so bad that he had to go and take a drive? What was it about?” Anna’s dad asked in a concerned voice.

“Patrick.” Anna said simply.

“Well, it’s about time some one talked to you about that boy…” Anna’s mother muttered to herself.

“Well, Anna, your mother and I are going to wait for Adam in the living room on the couch if you would like to join us to wait for him to get home. I dare say that the two of you will need to talk to each other and the sooner the better.” Anna’s dad said.

“Yeah, you’re right.” Anna said as she pulled herself out of bed and put her slippers on.

The three had been sitting on the couch not talking to each other for about an hour. Anna was starting to get worried. He never took drives for this long. He should have come back by now. Just after Anna thought this, there was a knock on the front door.

“He must have forgotten his house key,” Anna’s mother said.

“I’ll get it.” Anna said as she stood up shaking. She needed to tell her brother she didn’t mean any of it. She needed to tell him before their mom and dad started yelling at him for leaving the house when they were grounded.

Anna walked to the front door and took a deep breath before she opened the door. Anna let out a huge gasp when she saw who was at the front door….

“I’m looking for the Jameson residence, is this the correct house?” the police officer asked Anna.

Anna nodded because she wasn’t able to form any words. She was scared. Why the hell was there a cop on her front step? Why wasn’t Adam home? Anna took a look around the police officer to see if Adam was there. She thought maybe the cop had found him and brought him back home because he was breaking curfew that teenagers had when out driving, but she didn’t see him.

“May I please speak with Mr. and Mrs. Jameson?” The officer asked.

“Where’s Adam?” Anna said loudly as tears formed in her eyes.

“Anne, who’s at the front door?” Anna heard her father ask and then she heard her mom and dad get up from the couches and come towards the door.

Anna’s mother gasped just like Anna did when she saw the police officer standing in the doorway.

“Can I help you?” Anna’s father asked in fake calm voice, but Anna knew that it was fake and he was just as afraid as Anna and her mom.

“Would it be alright if I came in to talk to you?” he asked Anna’s dad.

“Yes, yes. Please come in.”

The officer followed Anna’s mother and father into the living room where he sat in a seat across from them. Anna took a seat next to her father and she held on to his arm.

“I came to give you some very unfortunate news…” the officer began.

Tears were forming in Anna’s eyes. Something terrible happened to Adam, Anna knew it. She could feel it.

“Your son, Adam was in a car accident about an hour ago. He was hit by a drunk driver.”

“No, NO! Stop lying! Adam’s okay, he has to be! Where is? In the hospital? Can I go and visit him? I have to go and visit Adam!” Anna said as she stood up.

“I’m terribly sorry, miss.” The officer began in a grave voice. “By the time we arrived at the scene of the crime, Adam was dead.”

Anna took in what he just said. No, this was a lie. Was it April first? Was Adam pulling a joke on them? Anna couldn’t breathe. The room started spinning faster and faster. She was soon gasping for breath. She thought she was going to throw up. She soon collapsed on the floor and broke out into sobs. Anna could vaguely hear her mother sobbing as well. Anna felt a hand rubbing her back and she knew immediately it was her fathers’.

“I am terribly sorry.” The officer said quietly as he watched the Jameson family’s grief. “We were able to track down the suspect.” He said.

This got Anna’s attention. She stopped crying. She looked up and focused her attention on the officer. She stood up. She had to know who was the one who took her brother away from her. She was going to track that person down and kill him herself.

“Who?” Anna said in a dangerously soft voice. “Who killed my brother?”

“I am sorry miss, but we cannot give the information out just yet.” The officer said. Anna knew it was a lie. She knew the only reason he wasn’t going to tell her was because she had a look of murder in her eyes.

“WHO KILLED MY BROTHER?” Anna yelled as possible as she could. She could see her mom jump back in surprise at her loud voice but she didn’t care. “TELL ME WHO KILLED MY BROTHER! I NEED TO KNOW!”

“Could you please tell us, sir?” Anna’s father asked in a voice that seemed like a whisper compared to Anna’s voice.

“He was driving back from a party that some other police officers had called to an end.”

Anna felt her heart drop. Her friends were going to a party tonight. Anna and Adam were grounded from it and it was supposed to be the major party of the year.

“He ran a red light and hit your son. It was a hit and run. We were able to catch him a couple of blocks away from the accident. He hit a street light and passed out. He is now in custody. He was 19.” The police officer said. “His name is Patrick Lane.” That was the last thing Anna remembered of that night before she fainted and hit the ground.

“Anna?” A soothing voice said. “Anna are you alright?” Hermione asked.

Anna sat up and Hermione gasped. “Anna! Why were you crying?”

“I was just thinking… about Adam…” Anna said and she burst into sobs again.

“Ann, Harry was so worried about you. We all were. Don’t worry, we’re here for you. It’ll be okay.” Hermione said as she pulled her into a hug and let her cry on her shoulder.

“You’re wrong Hermione. For the first time, you are wrong.” Anna said taking Hermione by surprise. “Adam’s gone… it’ll never be okay… the pain will never go away.” Anna said and then she sobbed in Hermione’s shoulder again. Hermione held on tight to her and eventually Anna cried herself to sleep and Hermione put her in her bed.

Chapter 15: Telling Truths
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 15: Telling Truths
Disclaimer: I own nothing except for my other characters!

The next day Anna avoided Harry, Ron, and Hermione as much as she could. They didn’t know what had happened that night of Adam’s accident, and she didn’t plan on telling them either. She was quiet during classes and then once the bell rang, she would gather her books and dart out of the room.

Draco could tell that something was wrong but he didn’t want to push her into telling him. He figured that if it was something important she would tell him eventually.

By lunch, Anna was sure it had been the longest day in the history of time, and it wasn’t even over yet! She still had Care of Magical Creatures with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Draco. When Anna was done with her lunch, Draco walked over to the Gryffindor table.

“I’ll walk you to class.” He said.

“Thanks,” Anna replied thankful she wouldn’t have to walk with Hermione, Ron, and Harry. “See you in class,” she said to Hermione before she left.

“Yeah …bye…” Hermione said in a soft voice.

Draco took Anna by the hand and slowly the two of them walked out of the Great Hall and started to make their way outside to class. They still had about fifteen minutes before the bell would ring so they decided to sit down by the lake. Draco sat behind Anna and wrapped his arms around her. Anna leaned her head back against his chest and closed her eyes thinking about how safe she felt when she was with Draco.

Draco looked down at Anna and thought to himself, “What’s happening to me? Draco Malfoy has no real feelings towards his girlfriends. Why is this one so different?”

Anna opened her eyes and turned herself around so she was able to see that Draco was looking at her. She quickly gave him a soft kiss on the lips.

“Thanks for being here for me Draco.” She said.

“I can’t think of any place I’d rather be.” Draco said and he truly meant it.

“Why do my friends hate you so much?” Anna asked him finally wanting to know the truth.

“You mean Potter, Granger, and Weasel?”

“Yes, I do mean Harry, Hermione, Ron.” Anna said stressing each one of their names.

“Well, Potter and I have been enemies ever since we first met, and Granger and Weasel are his little sidekicks and hate whomever he hates.”

“A part of that may be true, but I know there’s more to it than that Draco.”

“You really want to know, don’t you?” He said looking her in the eye.

“Yes, that would be the point of me asking you.”

“Well, I promise that I will tell you after class,” he said as he stood up pulling Anna up with him. “Right now we need to hurry so we aren’t late for class.”

“Since when do you care about getting to class on time?” Anna said with a smile as she put her hands on her hips.

“I don’t, I’m only stalling so I don’t have to answer your question.” Draco said with a little smirk then he took her by the hand and they walked to class where they barely made it before the bell rang.

“Today we’re gunna be learnin ‘bout dragons.” Hagrid told the class. “Now we all know we can’t have a dragon here, so you’ll be learnin from books.” Hagrid said in a sad voice. “I want a short essay on what they eat, where they live, and characteristics ‘bout them. All the books are here.” He said as he pointed to a massive pile of books.

Anna and Draco set to work; normally Draco wouldn’t work in this class, instead he’d just talk to Anna or make fun of the great oaf of a teacher or Potter and his sidekicks. Today was different, though. Draco was actually working in hopes that Anna wouldn’t ask him her question again. What was he supposed to say? “Potter and his friends hate me because my father is great friends with the Dark Lord. Yeah he’s a Death Eater and eventually that’s going to be my fate as well.” Draco could just imagine the look on her face if he did say that to her. He had never mentioned his family to Anna, and apparently Potter, Granger, and Weasel hadn’t either.

It suddenly started pouring on the class, and seeing as it was an outdoors class, Hagrid had to call the class short.

“Great, just my luck,” Draco thought to himself as Anna went to talk to Granger quickly. “My only time of stalling is cut short… that’s just bloody brilliant,” he thought sarcastically.

Draco saw Anna whisper something in Grangers ear and saw her nod in understanding. Anna then walked back to him and he instinctively put his arm around her waist pulling her close to him so she wouldn’t get cold in the rain.

“You ready to talk?” Anna asked.

“Not really, but I said I’d tell you… where do you want to talk seeing as its pouring.”

“Oh, I don’t know… but yeah lets hurry inside I’m getting really wet.”

“You know, I have an idea on where we can talk.” He said.

“Really? Where?”

“You’ll see.”

Draco led Anna through the corridors and empty halls and Anna could have sworn they were going in circles.

“Draco! I know you don’t want to tell me, but you don’t need talk walk around in cir-“ Anna cut herself short because there in front of them was a door and Anna was positive it had not been there the other times they walked past it.

“Welcome, to the Room of Requirement.” Draco said as he led Anna into the room. It only contained a couch and a fireplace.

“Wow… this is weird…” Anna said in a soft voice as Draco sat down on the couch. Anna then sat down on his lap and he wrapped his arms around her.

“So,” he began. “What was it that you wanted to know?” He asked as if he didn’t remember.

“Why do you hate my friends and why do my friends hate you in return? You said it was because of the first time you met Harry and you didn’t get along, but I know it’s more than that.” Anna said as she turned herself so she was looking Draco in the eye.

“Well… Anna I don’t know if anyone has told you this, but my father…” Draco said as he tried to think up the right words to phrase what he was going to say. “My father… is… my father is a pure-blood maniac.” He blurted out and wondered why he just said that.

“Oh.” Anna said a little startled that that was the reason. “Is there more to it than that?”

“Yeah… my father is also a follower of the Dark Lord and the Dark Lord hates Potter.” Draco said in a soft voice and shifted his gaze into the fire.

“Your dad is a Death Eater?” Anna said in a shocked and almost afraid voice.

“Yeah… and I’m supposed to become one once I’m through with this year, after I graduate.”

“Supposed to be… does that mean you don’t want to be one?” She asked in a hopeful voice. Draco looked back into her eyes and saw trust. He knew he could trust her with what he was going to say. He had never said it to anyone. He wanted to tell her; he needed to tell her.

“No, I don’t want to be one. I’ve seen my father torture people, even kill… and I never want to be like him.” Draco said in a bitter voice. “I hate him… him and his pure-blood mania. Did you know that I cannot marry someone who isn’t a pure-blood even if I’m in love with someone who is not? I’m just supposed to forget about her and pick someone ‘suitable for a Malfoy’.” Draco said in an even bitter voice.

“That’s terrible.” Anna said in a soft whisper and tears were forming in her eyes as she tried to imagine her father telling her she couldn’t marry the man she loved.

“Yeah… and I hate to tell you this love, but you don’t exactly meet my father’s standards.” He said in his bitter voice.

“Because of my mom?”

“Exactly,” Draco said.

Anna’s mother was a muggle born witch. So although Anna was born from a witch and a wizard, it wasn’t completely pure… or what ever the Malfoys called it.

“Don’t worry though, love. I will never let them tell me that I cannot love you.”

Anna’s eyes grew large as she took in the meaning of his words. “What did you mean by that?” Anna said slowly. Maybe she had taken his words the wrong way. She didn’t want to get her hopes up.

Draco smirked at her before saying, “I meant, my father will never be able to tell me that I cannot love you because there is no way I could stop loving you. Anna, I love you and I don’t care what my father has to say about it.”

“Oh my gawd, Draco! I love you too!” She said as she pulled him into a hug. The then pulled back and kissed him passionately on the lips. Draco and Anna were then late to dinner because they were a bit occupied with other things.

Chapter 16: Trouble in Paradise?
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters!

As the beginning of December came around, Anna was surprised just how cold it could get at Hogwarts. Care of Magical Creature lessons were soon given as study periods seeing as how it was too cold to spend a lot of time outside. Anna usually spent all of her free time with Draco. She felt bad that she wasn’t spending time with Hermione, Ron, and Harry any more, but Draco was her boyfriend after all, even if he was acting like a real git lately. He had become obsessed with making out with her ever since that moment in the Room of Requirement. It wasn’t like the two actually did anything, not that Draco didn’t try… all they did was kiss. Anna knew Draco had wanted to go further than that but stopped him before he had the chance to try. Ever since then, it seemed that was all he wanted from her, and since she wasn’t giving it to him, he kept pressing her even more for it. Anna was getting tired of telling Draco she didn’t want to have sex with him.

“But Ann, I thought you told me you loved me.” Draco tried one day during the break.

“I did. Draco I thought you told me you loved me.” Anna said.

“I did, and I still do. So let me show you just how much I love you.” He said in a seductive voice.

“Draco, if you really loved me you would respect my decision and that is my final answer on this subject! Now if you don’t mind, I think I’m going to find Hermione.” She said then walked away and sat her self down next to Hermione.

“Long time no see…” Hermione said as she looked up from her book she was reading to see who was sitting with her.

“Yeah, I know, Hermione. I’m sorry I haven’t been spending time with you anymore. It really sucks that I haven’t had time to be with you.”

“Yeah, it does. But I mean you have Draco to keep you company now, why on earth would you ever need me?” she said in a sarcastic voice.

“Hermione!” Anna exclaimed in a shocked voice. So Anna and Hermione hadn’t hung out a lot because she was with Draco now, but it wasn’t like they were enemies now. “I actually came over here because I miss hanging out with you. I also came over here because I need someone to talk to.”

“And why is that? Trouble in paradise?” She asked in the same sarcastic tone.

Before Anna could answer, Harry and Ron came and sat down across from Hermione and were very surprised to see Anna sitting with her.

“Hey, Anna…” Ron said in an uncertain voice.

“Hey, Ron. What’s up?” Anna said in a cheerful voice trying to lighten the mood.

Anna wasn’t sure Ron had even heard her; he was glaring at something past Anna. Suddenly, Anna felt an arm go around her shoulder. She didn’t even need to turn around to know it was Draco.

“Ann, why don’t you come back over and hang out with me.” Draco whispered in her ear as she rolled her eyes.

“Well, what if I don’t want to right now?” she said bluntly not bothering to keep her voice down. She didn’t care if Harry, Ron, and Hermione heard them fighting.

“Well, I want you to.” Draco said possessively as he stressed the word ‘I’ no longer whispering.

“And I told you, I don’t want to go back over there right now.” Anna said finally turning herself so she was looking him in the eye. Wow, he was getting pissed. “Shoot this is going to turn into a very big problem…” Anna thought to herself. Before she could think of what to do, Harry spoke out.

“Malfoy, get lost. She said she doesn’t want to go over there and be with you, or did you lose your sense of hearing?”

“Don’t talk to me about my girlfriend Potter.” Draco spat. “Anna,” he said forcefully. “I thought you were done hanging out with Scar Head, Weasel, and the Mudblood.”

“Don’t call her – “ both Harry and Ron started but suddenly stopped when Anna got up from her seat and slapped Draco straight across the face.

There was a stunned silence before Anna spoke in a voice that was shaking with anger. “Don’t you dare call my friend that. Don’t you dare tell me what to do and who I can and cannot be friends with. I am not someone who will be pushed around, so don’t try to.” Before Draco could say something back to her, she grabbed her bag, pushed past him, and started walking up to her dormitory not stopping even when she heard Hermione, Harry, and Ron coming after her calling her name.

“Anna, wait up!” Hermione yelled out. Anna pretended she didn’t hear them. She continued walking at her same quick pace but knew they would catch up to her soon, and so they did. “Anna!” Hermione exclaimed as she pulled Anna by the shoulder and turned her around. There was a slight pause when the two just looked each other in the eye before they gave each other a hug.

“I’m sorry I’ve been a really git lately Hermione.” Anna said and she meant it too.

“I’m sorry I was a real git back there to you. You didn’t have to stand up for me like that but you did anyways. You’re a really great friend, Anna.”

“Thanks, Hermione, so are you.”

“Ron, Harry, I’m sorry I haven’t been hanging out with you guys either. And its not like I didn’t want, Draco is just a possessive git of a boyfriend…” Anna muttered.

“Its alright Anna. Hey how about the four of us go and hang out together in the Common Room and talk.” Ron said.

“Yeah, how about it Anna? I feel like we haven’t talked in ages!” Hermione said.

“You don’t need to ask me twice. I’ve been waiting so long to have a civilized conversation instead of the usual ones with Draco’s friends.” Anna said in a happy voice glad that she and her friends were finally going to spend some time together. As they walked to the Common Room, Hermione and Anna were having a discussion about Christmas. Ron joined in every now and then, but only when he felt he had something important to say in the conversation. Anna couldn’t help but notice that Harry wasn’t talking to her at all. In fact, the last time he had spoken was when he told of Draco for her. “I’ll have to thank him later.” Anna thought to herself as they walked into the Common Room.

Chapter 17: Restoring Friendships

Chapter 17 Title: Restoring friendships
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

The four walked into the Common Room and found it empty. Hermione took Anna by the hand and skipped towards the big comfy chairs by the fire dragging Anna along with her. Anna couldn’t help but laugh; it seemed like forever since the two had been together hanging out.

“So what’s new with you guys? Don’t leave anything out I want to know everything.” Anna said as Ron and Harry sat down with them.

“Well, you mean other than the fact that we were being totally devastated because that you left us for one to spend time with your boyfriend who happens to be our enemy?” Hermione began, but Anna was happy to see a smile on her face.

“Ok, again I’m sorry, but yes other than that what have you been up to?”

“School work of course, I cannot have myself falling behind in our most important year here at Hogwarts.” Hermione said making both Ron and Harry to make a face. Anna laughed again; Hermione was the same person she had always been.

“What about you Ron?”

“Quidditch, and it’s a good thing too! Did you see how bad Gryffindor beat Ravenclaw at the last match?” Ron said.

“Yeah, it was a great game, you played brilliantly!” Anna said happily.

“Thanks, and besides that I’ve been trying to ignore Hermione who has been breathing down my neck reminding me every five seconds that this year is the most important year and I shouldn’t be slacking off.”

“Well, really Ron, you shouldn’t.” Anna said with a smile.

“Great, another mind Hermione has found a way to corrupt.” Ron said making Hermione send him a disapproving look and also making Anna laugh.

“So, Harry,” Anna said turning her head so she was looking straight at him. “What have you been up to?”

“The same as Hermione and Ron, Quidditch and school work, I guess that’s about it.” Harry said not meeting her eye.

“Harry’s lying Anna. That’s not all he’s been up to. He also asked Jessica Blease to the last Hogsmeade visit and the two went together on a date.” Hermione said with a smile.

Anna was a bit surprised at the news. “So Harry has moved on?” Anna thought to herself. “Jessica… is she the girl with short blonde hair in Hufflepuff?” Anna asked him.

“Yeah, that’s her.” Harry said still not meeting her eye.

“Oh, well she seems nice, did you have a good time with her?” Anna asked politely even though this was probably the last thing she wanted to talk about with Harry.

“Yeah, she’s really cool.” Harry said in an indifferent tone.

“Oh, well that’s nice. Are you going to go to Hogsmeade with her again, or was this just a one time thing?”

“Dunno, I haven’t decided if I want to ask her again or not.” Harry said shrugging.

“So anyways, Anna, what’s new with you?” Hermione asked.

“Well… basically I have a controlling and jealous boyfriend who needs all of my attention all of the time.” Anna said. “Don’t get me wrong, I like him and all, but he really needs to lighten up.”

There was a pause when no one said anything; they didn’t really know what to say. That was alright, though, because Anna had something that she needed to ask them… something that had been bothering her for a while.

“Why didn’t you guys tell me Draco’s father was a Death Eater?” Anna blurted out causing Harry, Hermione, and Ron to stare at her at her sudden outburst.

“I don’t know…” Hermione said slowly. “I guess we must have forgotten to tell you. How did you find out?”

“One day I decided to ask Draco why he hates you guys so much and why you guys hate him so much. He told me a bunch of stuff… including the fact that his father is a Death Eater.”

“What else did he say?” Ron asked.

“That I cannot say; Draco happens to trust me and I don’t want to go back on his trust even if I am upset with him right now.”

“Ok well enough talk about Malfoy, what are you doing for Christmas Anna because you’re welcome to come to the Burrow and stay with us if you don’t have plans.” Ron asked her.

“Well… this doesn’t exactly get off the topic of Draco… I’m supposed to go to the Malfoy Manor to meet his family.”

“You’re going to the Malfoy Manor?!” Hermione exclaimed. “He actually asked you if you would go?”

“Well, technically he didn’t ask… he just… informed me one day that I was going assuming I wouldn’t want to spend time with my mother and father. I still haven’t told him I plan to spend Christmas with them. I’m kind of avoiding that conversation with him…”

“I would too…” Hermione muttered.

“Ok, well if for some reason all of your plans fall through, my mum wouldn’t mind at all if you came and stayed with us.” Ron said.

“Thanks Ron! That means a lot.” Anna said with a smile.

“So how is your mom doing, Anna?” Hermione asked in a concerned voice.

“I’m not sure. I wrote my dad a letter a couple of days ago asking how they were and I haven’t gotten a reply yet. He and I haven’t kept in touch as much as we would have liked so I really don’t know how she is. I just hope she’s stopped drinking…” Anna said her voice fading.

Hermione noticed that Anna didn’t seem to want to talk about her mom and the things that had happened in her family so she said, “Well, dinner should be starting any minute. Do you think we should start heading down?”

“Yeah, I’m starved.” Ron said as his stomach growled.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron were getting up from their seats when Anna asked Harry something. “Harry, do you mind if I talk to you for just one second?”

“No, I guess not.”

Hermione decided that it would be best if she and Ron were not near when Anna talked to Harry so she took Ron by the arm and said, “We’ll see you guys down in the Great Hall.” She then steered Ron out of the Portrait Hole and out of site.

“So…” Harry began.

“Oh, right.” Anna said. She had been spacing a bit while she watched Ron and Hermione walking out together wondering how they could possibly still keep their relationship going. “I only wanted to say, thank you for what you said you said to Draco earlier today. Defending me when I said I didn’t want to be with him.”

“Yeah well he was being an ass and needed to be told off. That’s the only reason I did it.” Harry said still not looking at her. He was glancing at his feet.

“Oh, right…” Anna said a bit upset that he still wasn’t looking at her. “Ok, well do you want to go and get some dinner?”

“Yeah, lets go.”

The two walked together down to the Great Hall in silence… and it was an awkward silence too. The silence was only interrupted when they heard a voice behind them right before they were able to walk into the Great Hall.

“Step away from her Potter.”

Chapter 18: He Moves Fast
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter 18 Title: He moves fast
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

Anna and Harry didn’t even need to turn around before knowing it was Draco. Anna rolled her eyes thinking that he was the last person she wanted to talk to but turned around to see what he wanted.

Draco was standing there, a few feet away, and the right side of his face still bright pink from where Anna had hit him. Anna had never been more proud of her strength. His eyes were full of hatred as he looked upon Harry saying, “I said step away from her, Potter. Why haven’t you?”

“You can’t tell me what to do, Malfoy.” Harry said as he crossed his arms across his chest with a look that matched the one Draco was giving him.

There was a moment where the two just glared at each other, and Anna silently wondered that if she walked away would they even notice. Before she could think any more on this Draco spoke to her but not taking his eyes off of Harry. “Come on, Anna, I want you to sit with me at dinner.”

As Anna began to speak, he finally shifted his gaze upon her, but his glare did not vanish. “I don’t want to sit with you at dinner, Draco. Your friends are rude to me because I am a Gryffindor. I also don’t want to sit with you at dinner, because I want to sit with my friends tonight. Something I haven’t been able to do since you and I started dating.”

Draco laughed softly. “Are you saying you would rather sit with a bunch of Mudblood lovers than with your own boyfriend?”

“Umm… let me think.” Anna said putting a face on that made her look like she was really thinking about it. “Yes,” she said after a few moments. “That is exactly what I am saying. I am so glad you grabbed the meaning of my words so quickly!” Anna said with a smile. “Come on, Harry. I’m really hungry.” Anna said to Harry then she turned her back to Draco and began walking away, Harry doing the same.

Before they had even taken two steps, Draco yelled out to Anna. “Anna, if you walk away from me right now, then we are through.”

Anna froze and Harry turned to look at the expression on her face. He could tell that she was thinking about it. Harry had no idea what was going to happen next. He knew Anna was mad at him, but he knew she also liked him a lot.

Anna then turned around, looked Draco straight in the eye and said, “Sorry it has to end like this.” Then turned and walked straight into the Great Hall with both Harry and Draco standing there wondering what had just happened. Harry then, without a glance at Malfoy, walked into the Great Hall where he found Anna sitting at the Gryffindor table with Ron and Hermione.

Harry took the empty seat next to Ron which was across from Anna. He tried to read the expression on her face as she talked to Hermione. She looked… happy. Harry wondered if it was an act to hide her feelings or if she was truly happy she and Malfoy had just broken up.

Before Harry could think about it anymore, Ron shoved him with is elbow in the stomach. Harry turned and glared at him as to say, “What do you want?”

Ron chuckled a little then said in a quiet voice so only Harry could hear. “If you’re going to stare at her, you might not want to drool. It makes it too obvious.”

“Makes what to obvious?” Harry hissed back at his friend.

“That you are so not over Anna by a long shot.” Ron said with a smile.

“Get a grip, Ron. I am too. She’s toyed enough with me, and I don’t want to go through that again.”

“Draco and I broke up.” Anna said quietly to Hermione so no one else at the table could hear her.

“Oh my gosh! When?” Hermione said in a shocked voice.

“Just a couple of minutes ago out side the Great Hall. He wanted me to sit with him and I said no and then there was some other stuff said… and then I started to walk away and he said that if I walked away he and I were through.”

“So what did you say? Or did you just keep walking?”

“I turned around and said, ‘sorry it has to end like this.’ Then I turned around and walked away.”

“Oh I don’t want to sound mean or like a bad friend but… THANK GOODNESS!” Hermione said in a loud and excited voice causing not only Ron and Harry to look up at her, but almost the whole Gryffindor table turned her way to see who was making all of the noise.

“Hermione!” Anna exclaimed with a laugh. “I think you need to learn something called volume control!” making the two of them both laugh. Anna was so happy. The day had been filled with all sorts of twists and turns, her fighting with Draco, Harry standing up for her, her hitting Draco, getting to spend time with her friends, another fight with Draco, and then the breakup. Anna still wasn’t too sure how she felt about that. Sure she was happy that she was now able to spend time with her friends, but she had like Draco a lot . Anna was confused. Why didn’t she feel sad? Maybe it was because she was with her friends… Anna didn’t know what to do. How ever, Anna did know that she was swearing off boys for a while.

After dinner the four friends were walking out of the Great Hall, Anna saw something that caught her eye, white-blonde hair that she could never mistake. Draco. Anna stopped in shock as she watched him causing Hermione, Ron, and Harry to stop too.

“Anna, what’s wro–” Hermione started but suddenly stopped as she followed Anna’s gaze. There standing off by the wall was Draco making out with no other than Pansy Parkinson. “Oh my gosh… that’s just sick.” Hermione said in disgust.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione turned to see how Anna was reacting to this. At first, she looked fairly upset. “Wow, he moves fast.” Anna said with a hint of laughter in her voice. “Come on, let’s go. This is gross to watch.” Anna said laughing as she grabbed Hermione’s arm and pulled her away towards the Gryffindor Common Room. The two of them then skipped all the way to the Common Room with the boys trailing behind wondering if the two girls had gone mental.

Anna, Harry, Hermione, and Ron stayed up later than anyone else in the Common Room that night talking about anything and everything. No one brought up Draco that night in respect for Anna except when Harry and Ron told her how he was turned into a ferret in their fourth year which made Anna laugh so hard she had tears in her eyes. Around three in the morning, Harry and Ron decided that they were going to go to bed. They left the girls in the Common Room where they were able to talk about things that they couldn’t with the boys around.

“So what’s up with you and Ron? I mean last I heard, you were screaming at him and he was pleading with you for another chance. What’s up with you now?”

“Only friends,” Hermione said shocking Anna. “That day we both skipped class, which I completely didn’t like by the way, and talked in the Common Room. I remember, that was the day that I found you in the dormitory crying and you said it was because you were thinking of Adam.”

“Yeah… I was just thinking about the night he died…” Anna said softly. Anna could tell Hermione wanted to ask what exactly did happen but she was trying to refrain from being rude. “Can I tell you?” Anna asked her.

“Oh! Yes! I mean, only if you want to… you don’t have to.”

“No, no. I’ve never told anybody what happened that night. Not even my parents know what happened before they came home. All they know is that we had a fight. Trust me, I bet I would feel so much better if I told you.”

Hermione nodded and sat in silence as she listened to Anna’s story. By the end, the two were both in tears.

“Did you ever talk to Patrick about what happened?”

“I talked to him once afterwards. I told him, of course, that we were over. And also that I hoped he went to jail and that he stayed there so he would never be able to ruin anyone else’s life. He went on trial… and I was there. He got charged for drunk driving and was put in jail. That’s the last time I saw him.”

“Wow…” Hermione said softly. “Anna I don’t know what to say.” She said with tears still in her eyes. She knew that her friend blamed herself for what happened that night. She could tell by the way she told parts of the story. “Anna, you really shouldn’t blame yourself. If anyone, blame Patrick, but blaming yourself can only make the pain worse.”

“Hermione, how would you feel?” Anna said softly.

They were only a few words, but Hermione was hit hard. She knew if it had happened to her twin brother, if she had one, she would blame herself too. Hermione didn’t know what to say so she stood up, walked over to Anna, and pulled her into a giant hug that only a best friend could give. “I can’t say anything to make you feel better about all of this, but everyone cares about you and we all want you to be happy. You can’t be happy if you keep blaming your self for all of this.”

“You’re right, Hermione.” Anna said. The two sat next to each other in silence. Neither of them knew how long they sat there, but eventually they headed up to bed. Hermione made sure she gave Anna another hug before they went to sleep. As Hermione got into bed, she heard Anna do the same to her right.

“Hermione?” Anna’s soft voice whispered in the dark room.

“Yeah, Anne?” Hermione whispered back.

“Please don’t tell anyone what I told you tonight.”

“Don’t worry, Anne. I won’t tell a soul. You can trust me.”

“I know, thanks.”

Chapter 19: Waiting at the Station

Chapter 19 Title: Waiting at the Station

Sorry about the wait of posting this chapter. I just got my computer back yesterday (4/20) and it hadn't been working for 7 days. Sorry yall!!

Disclaimer: I own nothing except for my other characters.

The few weeks before Christmas flew by with out anything very important happening except for Draco and Pansy becoming an “official” couple. Anna avoided them both at all costs, and she actually hadn’t even spoken to Draco since their break up. Anna was completely over him, and it didn’t really matter to her anyways because he had obviously moved on already. Anna wrote her dad saying she was going to be staying with them over Christmas, but she asked if she could then go and to the Burrow. It was planned that she would meet her dad at Kings Cross and stay with him and her mother until the day after Christmas when she would floo to the Burrow meeting up with Ron, Hermione, and Harry.

Finally, Christmas break came. That morning, Anna was extremely nervous about going “home”. Anna had only stayed there about a week then went off to Hogwarts so she didn’t consider it her home at all. Anna didn’t know how her mother was doing… Anna hoped she was alright. And her dad, Anna was more excited than nervous about seeing him. She loved her dad so much and couldn’t believe she hadn’t seen him in such a long time. Not that Anna didn’t love her mother, quite the opposite in fact. It was just that Anna had a stronger connection with her father than she did with her mother.

The train ride to Kings Cross was pretty uneventful; Anna even managed to take a nap though Harry was placed in an awkward position when her head fell on his shoulder. Hermione and Ron were entertained at Harry’s expressions as he didn’t know what to do with her leaning on him. When Anna woke up as the train came to a stop, she apologized profusely to Harry for falling asleep on him.

“Anne, it’s fine really… no problem.” Harry said after Anna apologized for what seemed like the 20th time.

“Ok, Harry, only if you say so, but I really am sorry.” She said as the four walked off the train. Anna shivered slightly as the December air hit her. She wasn’t sure if it was because of the weather or because she was excited and nervous.

“Ok, Anna, we’ll see you soon. Merry Christmas!” Hermione said pulling Anna into a hug.

“Thanks, Mione, you too.” Anna said returning the hug.

“See you guys in a bit,” Anna said giving Ron and Harry each a hug.

“Bye, Anna,” and “Merry Christmas,” they told her.

“Ron! There’s mum with Fred and George.” Ginny exclaimed pointing to three red heads waving no doubt related to Ron and Ginny.

“Ok thanks, Gin. We’ve got to go guys.” Ron said to Hermione and Harry.

Anna waved good bye to her friends then began her search for her mom or dad. After looking around for a bit, Anna wondered if she told them the right time. “3:00”, Anna thought. “That’s what I told them. Maybe they hit some traffic.”

Anna watched as her classmates hugged family members all around her and she couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. She wanted to be with her mom and dad. She wanted to be able to hug them and say “Merry Christmas”. Anna turned her back on Draco and Pansy as they met Mr. Malfoy. Pushing thoughts of them out of her mind, she turned her attention back to looking for her parents. After ten or fifteen minutes, Anna was really starting to worry. She wished she had her cell phone to call them, but it would have been pointless to bring it to Hogwarts. A crossing guard came and asked Anna if she was lost casting apprehensive glances at her trunk and her cage that carried her small brown owl. Anna replied saying she was waiting for her parents to come and pick her up. He cast one last glance at her trunk and owl before walking away to help some other people asking when the next train to Paris was.

Anna thought about owling her parents asking where they were, but decided against it seeing as how it would bring too much attention to her if the muggles saw her sending a letter with an owl. Anna was getting very panicky around 3:30 and was taking some parchment and a quill out of her trunk to send a letter to her parents when another owl came and landed on her shoulder almost scaring Anna to death.

Anna untied the letter from its leg and the owl flew off. Anna looked down and saw her name written in vaguely familiar handwriting. She opened the letter with shaking hands afraid of what was in the letter. Although, what Anna read in the letter answered no questions about where her parents were. In fact, the letter only formed more.

Chapter 20 Title: The News

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

After Anna had read the letter see had received from Professor Dumbledore, her heart began to race. Anna didn’t understand; if her parents were on her way, why would Professor Dumbledore have sent her a letter telling her not to leave the station no matter what. Before Anna could think anymore about the letter, Professor Dumbledore, or her parents, Anna felt a hand on her shoulder. Anna quickly turned around and saw four people standing behind her. The man with his hand on her shoulder had bright red hair that Anna immediately recognized as Weasley hair. He was smiling down at her with a comforting yet sad smile.

“Anna, I’m Ron’s father, Arthur Weasley. This is Remus Lupin,” Mr. Weasley said pointing to a man with worn clothes who nodded to Anna when he was introduced. “This is Nymphadora Tonks,” he said pointing out a young lady with short, bright hair.

“Call me Tonks,” she said with a smile. “Nice to meet you, Anna.”

“You too,” Anna said softly.

“And this,” Mr. Weasley said. “Is Alastor Moody,” he said pointing to the last person standing there who was by far the most frightening of the group to Anna. He had a large blue eye that was swirling in every direction. His faced was scarred and a large chunk was missing from his nose. He nodded towards Anna. Anna was starting to feel even more anxious. These people were being so nice to her, it was like they were being too nice. Too nice, like when they know something sad that you don’t.

“Anna, we are taking you back to Hogwarts so you can meet with Professor Dumbledore.”

“Mr. Weasley, why am I going back to Hogwarts? I was supposed to be spending Christmas with my mom and dad.” Anna said in a small voice.

“Professor Dumbledore will explain everything thing when you meet him.” Mr. Weasley said in a small smile.

“How are we getting there?” Anna asked in a shaky voice.

“Portkey.” Alastor Moody said in his voice that sounded like a low grunt as he pointed to a shoe in Tonks’ hand.

“Have you ever used a Portkey, Anna?” Remus asked her kindly, and Anna nodded because she was feeling slightly sick. He then took the shoe from Tonks, looked around to see if any of the muggles were watching, then pulled out his wand and muttered “Portus” as he tapped the shoe. Mr. Weasley, Tonks, Moody, and Anna then touched the shoe and felt a tug behind their navel. Anna’s feet slammed onto the ground, and if she had felt sick before, it was nothing compared to what she was feeling as she steadied herself so she didn’t fall over.

Anna looked around and saw Professor Dumbledore sitting at a desk. They were in Dumbledore’s office.

“Thank you,” Dumbledore said in a grave voice to Mr. Weasley, Remus, Tonks, and Moody. The four then turned and left Dumbledore’s office leaving Anna alone with him.

“Miss Jameson, please take a seat.” Dumbledore said indicating a chair that was in front of his desk. Anna slowly walked to the chair and sat down. As she sat down, she took a good look at Dumbledore. He seemed sad, distressed, tired, and troubled. His eyes then met hers. “Miss Jameson, I am terribly sorry about the news I am about to tell you.”

Anna took a large breath of air in hopes of steadying her breathing which was short and quick. She closed her eyes and silently hoped with everything she had that her mom and dad were alright. She opened her eyes to see Dumbledore’s eyes on her filled with sorrow.

“Earlier today, Anna,” he began in a slow voice. “There was an attack at your house around 2:30.” Anna’s eyes began to fill with tears. “When arours arrived, it was too late.” Anna then let out a sob. “Your mother and father were both found dead.”

By this time Anna was sobbing so loud and so hard she was starting to get dizzy. She felt as if she was either going to throw up or faint, but she didn’t care. She had lost everyone in her family now. Her brother, Adam, killed by Patrick; her sister, Emily, who had run off and eloped with her boyfriend and had never seen her since; and now her parents, killed the day she was going to see them. It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t right. Why did she have to lose everyone she loved and cared about? Anna continued to sit there and sobbed. She cried until she couldn’t cry anymore. She didn’t know how long she had been in Professor Dumbledore’s office. Anna finally looked up to him with a new emotion brewing inside of her.

“Who? Who killed my mother and father?” Anna asked in a voice that was filled with not only sorrow, but extreme anger.

“We are not entirely sure, but we have a feeling that it was either the works of Voldemort himself or his followers.”

Anna was completely shocked by this news. Yes, her mother was muggle born, but there were plenty of muggle borns in the wizarding world. Anna suddenly thought of Harry. His parents had been murdered by Voldemort too. New anger formed in Anna. Anna then began to think to herself, “What was this Voldemort dude’s problem? Did he get a kick out of murdering people’s parents and breaking people’s families a part?” Since Anna had lived in America her whole life, she had never even learned of Voldemort until she came here. All she knew about him was that he was some sort of evil, power hungry, crazed man who had killed Harry’s parents. “What a bastard!” Anna couldn’t help but scream as she jumped out of the chair she was sitting in. “I’ll kill him! He killed my parents, I’ll kill him!”

“Miss Jameson,” Dumbledore said in a slightly stern voice. “We do not have all the facts, although we are almost sure it was he who killed them. That does not give you the right to go and hunt down a very dangerous man who can kill you before you get the chance to defend yourself. There is only one person who can defeat Voldemort, and anyone else who tries, will fail.”

Anna took a moment to let the words he said sink in. He was right, and she knew it. He would kill her before you could say “Quidditch”.

“Now, Miss Jameson, there is a new question of where you would like to go for the Christmas break. You are more than welcome to stay with the Weasley’s, Arthur has already assured me on that, or you are welcome to stay here at Hogwarts if you would like.”

“I think I’ll go to the Weasley’s. They were expecting me anyways later this break.”

“All right, Miss Jameson, I will send them a letter and let them know that you are coming.” Professor Dumbledore then took out some parchment and a quill and wrote a quick note. He then sealed it and tapped it with his wand. When he tapped it with his wand, it vanished. He then took a broken quill off of his desk and muttered the same spell Mr. Weasley had earlier. He then handed it to Anna. Before her hand could close in on it, he said to her, “I am truly sorry about your loss, Anna.”

“Thank you, sir.” Anna said with fresh tears forming in her eyes. Anna held onto her trunk tightly as her hand closed in on the broken quill. She then felt a jerk behind her navel. Her feet then slammed onto the floor, but this time she was unable to steady herself and allowed herself to fall upon the floor. Instead of trying to get up to see where she was, she stayed on the floor in a heap sobbing. She vaguely heard people gasping and rushing towards her. She then felt arms wrap around her in a comforting hug. Anna allowed herself to be held as she cried for the loss of her mom and dad. She clung to the person for support in hopes of not falling over. They stayed there on the floor with Anna sobbing into the person’s chest. Anna was completely unaware that it was Harry who was comforting her.

Chapter 21 Title: Christmas

Hey yall! Omg I love the reviews! Thanks so much for everyone sending in your opinions! Ok so I thought I was going to get this chapter up over the weekend but I was in such a bad mood…. Sorry guys! Ok well now im in a better mood so I’ll get on with the story! Mwah! Thanks for reading everyone!

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except for my other characters.

The few days before Christmas Day passed by Anna in a blur mainly. She could remember meeting two of Ron’s older brothers (Fred and George) and his mom (she met his dad already). Everyone knew what had happened to her parents even though she hadn’t told any of them. Anna could tell that Hermione wanted Anna to talk to her, but she knew she shouldn’t force it. Anna hardly talked to anyone those days. She wasn’t being rude or anything, just not her normal happy self. On Christmas Eve, she sat on her bed that was in Ginny’s room; Hermione was also staying in Ginny’s room. It was after dinner and the rest of the Weasley family and Harry were downstairs talking and laughing with each other. Anna was grateful she had Hermione and Ginny to keep her company. The three were sitting on Anna’s bed; Hermione and Ginny on either side of Anna.

“I’m sorry I’m being such a downer guys.” Anna said breaking the silence.

“Anna, really it’s no problem. If anyone else was in your position, they’d be acting the same way as you. Heck, compared to Harry when he’s upset you’re a party animal!” Hermione said with a laugh. Anna cracked a smile for the first time she had been there.

“What’s that? A smile on Anna’s face? I had almost forgotten what one of those had looked like!” Hermione said in a mocking voice. Anna let out a laugh at her best friend. It wasn’t even funny, but Hermione could always make her laugh. Anna gave both Hermione and Ginny a hug.

“Thanks,” she said simply. “You guys are the best and I’m so glad I still have the two of you.” Anna said getting a bit teary. Ginny had spent a lot of time comforting Anna over the past few days and they had become pretty good friends.

“You will always have us here for you!” Ginny said putting her arm around Anna’s shoulders. “To cheer you up,” she said as her free hand searched around for a pillow until she found one. “When you’re down,” she giggled and swung the pillow not only hitting Anna, but hitting Hermione in the face too.

Hermione and Anna both screamed and jumped up in search for more pillows. They grabbed some off of the other beds and soon started attacking back at Ginny who was laughing like crazy. The three girls were screaming and shrieking causing feathers to go everywhere. Of course the Weasleys heard the screaming from down stairs and ran upstairs to Ginny’s room to see why they were screaming.

All of them stopped in complete awe to see Hermione, Ginny, and Anna in a full fledged pillow fight jumping around on the beds trying to escape from one another. After the shock of seeing Anna smiling and laughing wore off, Mrs. Weasley yelled, “Girls!!” Her voice was louder than the three shrieking girls and caused them to stop their pillow fight immediately. The feathers were still floating down as Mrs. Weasley yelled again, “you girls could wake up people miles away with that screaming! Now I was this to stop right now, and I think it’s time for bed!” She then took out her wand and with a quick swish, all of the feathers were gone.

“Sorry Mrs. Weasley,” Hermione and Anna muttered at the same time.

“Sorry, mum.” Ginny said. “Well, we’ll be seeing you in the morning! Good night!”

Mrs. Weasley walked out of the room shaking her head with Mr. Weasley following her although he had a smile on his face.

“Nice one,” Fred said.

“You should have seen the look on mum’s face when you lot started screaming.” George said.

“Priceless,” the two said together then they bade good night to the girls leaving them alone with Harry and Ron. Harry and Ron walked into the room both grinning.

“So who started it, although I have a pretty good idea…” Harry asked as his eyes landed on the mischievous Ginny.

“Guilty,” Ginny replied with a smile.

“Anna you feeling a bit better?” Ron asked.

“Yeah, I don’t know what I’d do with out y’all though.”

“Ok, well then I guess we’ll head to bed then, see you ladies in the morning. Please spare us and stop the high pitched screams though.” Ron said.

“Oh… well I guess we can contain ourselves but only because you asked so nicely, Ron.” Anna said smiling. Harry and Ron said good night and left the girls alone in Ginny’s room where they all found themselves extremely tired from their pillow fight.

It felt as though Anna had just closed her eyes before she felt a pillow hit her right in the face.

“uuuuuuuuuh! I thought Mrs. Weasley said to stop with the pillow fights.” Anna groaned pulling the blankets over her head blocking out the two girls who were wide awake in the room.

“Yes, but that pillow was only to wake you up, silly! It’s Christmas! There’s no sleeping in on Christmas!” Ginny said excitedly.

“Christmas?” Hermione and Ginny heard a muffled voice ask from under the covers.

“Yes, sweetie! Christmas!” Hermione said as if she was talking to a little child.

“Ok, I’m up!” Anna said bouncing out of bed. “I love Christmas!”

Ginny laughed and said, “Don’t we all! Ok so we’re all going downstairs to open presents together, the boys are probably already awake so let’s hurry!” Ginny, Hermione, and Anna put robes over their pajamas then made their way down stairs where they found every one else waiting impatiently for them.

“About time!” George muttered.

“Thought they were never getting out of bed.” Fred said.

“You guys waited for us? Aw how sweet!” Ginny said making Hermione and Anna laugh.

“Gin, you know the Weasley Rule. We always wait to open presents until everyone is down. So I now hereby declare that since every one is here, we can now open presents!” Mr. Weasley said.

Fred, George, and Ron didn’t even wait for him to finish his speech before running over to their pile of presents. Anna laughed as she saw wrapping paper flying all around the room. She sat herself down in front of her pile which was in between Harry and Hermione’s.

The first present she got was a light blue Weasley Sweater that she pulled over her pajamas. She then opened her present from Ron which was a giant bag full of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.

“Thanks, Ron! I love these things!” Anna yelled out to Ron.

“No problem, Anna. Thanks for the shirt!” Anna had gotten him a Chudley Cannon’s shirt.

Anna went back to opening her gifts where she found a photo album filled with some pictures of the two of them in it already.

“Thanks, ‘Mione! I love it!” Anna said leaning over and pulling her into a hug.

“Good, I’m glad! I love the stuff you got me!” She said referring to a pink and white flowered bikini, some pink flip flops, and sunglasses.

“Your survival kit for when you go to Hawaii this summer with your family!” Anna said laughing.

Anna turned back to her pile and opened a card that was on a tiny package.
“Glad you’re home for Christmas. Love Mom and Dad”
The card made her eyes well with tears as she opened the box. Inside was a golden locket. When Anna opened it, she let out a gasp and a few tears fell from her eyes. Inside the locket on one side was a picture of her and Adam on their sixteenth birthday party and on the other side was a picture of the whole family including her older sister.

“Wow, that’s a nice necklace, Anna.” Harry said looking over. “Is that your family?” He asked quietly.

“Yeah…” Anna said still staring at the pictures. “Could you put it on me, Harry?”

“Sure.” He said. She handed him the necklace and pulled her long hair off of her neck. His hand brushed slightly against her skin sending tingles throughout her body, but she pretended not to notice.

“Thanks,” Anna said after he closed the clasp of the necklace.

“No problem,” Harry said taking his hands away from the back of her neck. “Have you opened my present yet?” Harry asked with a smile.

“Nope! Not yet!” Anna said in a sing-song voice. “I’ll open it right now!” Anna said as she reached through what’s left of her pile of presents and found the square box from Harry. He watched her carefully as she pulled the ribbons off then the wrapping paper to reveal a box that usually contains jewelry. “Hmmm… I wonder what it is!” Anna said looking sideways at Harry.

“Open it,” Harry said grinning.

“Fine! No need to insist!” Anna said opening the box to find a silver ring band. Around the band of the ring were words. Anna took the ring out and brought it closer to her eyes so she could read what they said; “Always with you”.

“Oh my gosh! Harry!” Anna exclaimed throwing her arms around him knocking him over completely. “I love it! It’s like the sweetest thing ever!” Anna said pulling herself off of him so he could breathe.

“Glad you like it, Anna. I had help with the words. Hermione helped me.” Anna turned to look at Hermione who was pretending not to listen in on the two of them.

“I love it,” Anna said again turning back to Harry.

“Good,” he said smiling. “Anna, no matter what I’ll always be here for you, ok?”

“Ok.” Anna said as she blushed a little. “Did you open mine? I mean its nothing compared to what you got me, but I thought you would like it anyways…” Anna rambled making Harry laugh.

“No, I haven’t yet.” He took his last present and opened it to find a snitch that immediately flew away from him and flew around the room catching many of the Weasleys and their guests’ attention.

“Cool, thanks Anna. Now I don’t have to nick one from the school.” He said making her laugh.

Over the course of the day, lots people stopped by including some of the ones Anna met on the last day of the term. At dinner, there were about fifteen people there and it was the most fun Anna had had all break. Yes, she thought about her family a lot that day, but she tried to stay positive. Mrs. Weasley made a delicious ham that had everyone full after many helpings. After dinner, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and Anna sat around the fire together drinking hot chocolate talking about completely random things. At the moment right now, they were talking about what they were going to do once they were out of Hogwarts. Ginny mainly listened seeing as how she had another year after this year.

“Oh my gosh! We should all get one of those flat things!” Anna exclaimed.

“Oh my gosh! That would be so awesome! And that way we can all keep in touch! I think it’s a great idea what do you guys think?” Hermione said all very quickly.

“I’m in,” Harry said. “Ron?”

“Yeah, sounds like fun.” Ron said agreeing to the other three.

“Great! Now I have something to look forward to after this year! Not to mention a place to live…” Anna said.

Before anyone could answer, Mrs. Weasley walked into the room.

“It’s late, you lot. I think it would be best if you went to bed.”

The five friends slowly made their way upstairs. When they got to Ginny’s room, Ron and Harry said good night by giving each of the three girls a “Merry Christmas and good night” and a hug.

The girls walked into the room and all three noticed a large bird waiting on Anna’s bed with a letter attached to its leg.

“I wonder who it’s from.” Anna wondered out loud walking towards her bed.

“Well, open it!” Hermione encouraged her.

Anna untied the letter from its leg and it almost immediately took off through the window without waiting for a reply to be sent back.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to happen.”

Anna read out loud.

“Who’s it from?” Ginny asked standing next to Anna looking at the short message.

“Doesn’t say. I really don’t know who it could be from.” Anna said in a confused voice.

“Sounds like a mystery… I bet the three of us could so crack the case.” Hermione said.

“’Mione… you kind of scare me when you talk like a detective like that.” Anna said laughing. “It’s probably nothing, probably some really stupid thing. There’s no need to worry.” Anna said trying more to reassure her self than the others. “Well… night” Anna said as she got into bed.

Anna heard Hermione and Ginny get into bed after Ginny turned off the lights. Anna could hear the two of their breaths slowly steadying. Anna wished she could fall asleep, but all she could think about was the message she had received. She hoped she could figure out what it meant soon.

Chapter 22 Title: More News

Disclaimer: nothing is mine except for my other characters!

The day after Christmas, Anna woke up to find everything outside covered in snow. Anna looked around Ginny’s room to find it empty. She heard voices coming from downstairs in the kitchen. Anna got up and got dressed in her favorite pink sweater and dark blue jeans. She walked down stairs and found Ginny, Hermione, Harry, Ron, Fred, ad George sitting on the bottom of the steps no doubt listening to the voices coming from the kitchen.

“Spying are we?” Anna whispered to them.

“Shh!” Ron, Ginny, Fred, and George all hissed to her in unison.

“Dumbledore just got here.” Hermione whispered to Anna. “Lupin, Tonks, and Mad Eye are here too. Sounds like something really serious happened.”

Then Dumbledore’s voice floated out to where the teenagers were sitting. “I think it’s time we brought Anna out here,” he said.

“I think she’s still in bed, I’ll go and get her.” Mr. Weasley said. Before anyone could move off of the steps, Mr. Weasley found them sitting there each with an innocent look on their face that could fool no one. He laughed quietly. “Anna, I’m sure you heard that Dumbledore would like to talk to you.” He said and Anna nodded. “The rest of you need to go upstairs before Molly comes out here and finds you, and trust me, you don’t want her to find you here.”

Anna stood up and walked through the group of people to Mr. Weasley, then the two walked into the kitchen.

“Morning,” Anna said a bit quietly to Professor Dumbledore.

“Good Morning, Anna, thank you for meeting me down here,” Dumbledore said to her. “Would the rest of you please let me speak with Anna alone?” Dumbledore said directing his question to the adults in the kitchen.

“Of course,” Lupin said. As soon as he said this, Anna could hear several pairs of footsteps suddenly pounding up the stairs. Anna knew the others were still sitting on the stairs and were only leaving because the adults were now leaving the kitchen. After everyone except for Anna and Dumbledore left the kitchen, Dumbledore indicated one of the chairs obviously asking her to take a seat which she did. He then took the seat across from her.

“I have new information on the murders of your parents, Anna.” He said gravely. Anna decided not to say anything because she was starting to feel a bit dizzy at the mention of her parents’ deaths. She suddenly felt very grateful that she was sitting down because if she wasn’t, she knew she would be having a difficult time trying to stay standing.

“It turns out that it was not Voldemort who murdered them or Death Eaters.” He said which made Anna really confused. “Although it was not Voldemort himself or any of the Death Eaters, it was still related to that.” He said which did not help Anna’s confusion any.

“I don’t think I understand, Professor…” Anna said slowly.

“Please let me explain. Although it was not Death Eaters who committed the murder, it was the work of prospective Death Eaters. It seems to be it was some sort of initiation for future Death Eaters.” He said in a very angry voice that Anna had never heard him use before.

Anna didn’t say anything. Her breathing was becoming short and quick. Her mind suddenly went back to something Draco had once said to her. He had told her that he had to become a Death Eater at the age of 18. Draco had just turned 18 about a week before the murder of her parents.

“Oh my gosh.” Anna said. “I can’t believe he would do this…” Anna said more to herself than to Dumbledore.

“Miss Jameson, I must tell you that it was not only one person who was being initiated that night. I have no proof as to who they were even if we both have a good idea on whom they most likely were.”

“So am I just supposed to go back to school and face them as if I don’t know what they did to my parents?”

“I’m sorry to say that that is exactly what you must do. I know it will be difficult, but you cannot do anything.”

Now, you see, Anna is not like Harry when it comes to anger. Instead of screaming and letting out her anger, Anna bottles it up until she can’t anymore. Anna knew she had to listen to Dumbledore, I mean he’s the most powerful wizard there is not including Voldemort. Anna trusted Dumbledore, and she trusted his advice.

“Fine, I won’t do anything until we find out who it was for sure. But when we do, please don’t try to keep me from anything to them. They deserve to pay for what they did.” Anna spat. She wasn’t angry at Dumbledore for making her control her anger. She was angry at those stupid people who killed her parents. Anna then jumped out of her chair and ran upstairs to Ginny’s room passing all of the adults that were sitting in the living room. Anna flung herself onto her bed not realizing that not only Ginny and Hermione were in the room, but Harry, Ron, Fred, and George were too. They were a bit shocked to see Anna come into the room so quickly.

Anna cried into her pillow. All she could think about was how it was because of some of her classmates her parents were dead. She felt someone come and sit on her bed and then an arm slowly patting her back in hopes of comforting her.

Hermione was just about to ask Anna what happened when Anna realized something. She sat up quickly almost giving Harry a heart attack; he was the one comforting her. Anna quickly began searching through her Christmas presents until she found the bit of parchment that had been sent to her last night. Anna looked down at the words as fresh tears formed in her eyes.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to happen.”

“That ass! I can’t believe he did that and then sent me a note apologizing! Didn’t mean for it to happen my ass!” Anna said angrily to herself even though everyone else in the room could hear her. So much for bottling her anger.

“Anna…” Harry said tentatively. “What did Dumbledore say to you?”

Anna turned around and looked at Harry directly. She then looked down at the ring he gave her just the day before that was placed on her right hand. She looked at the words for a moment before looking back up at him.

“My ex-boyfriend killed my parents.”

Chapter 23 Title: Pictures

A/N: WARNING! this chapter is not as long as i would have liked, but all of the future chapters are MUCH longer! thank u!

Disclaimer: I own nothing except for my other characters. Everything you recognize is from the amazingly talented JK Rowling!

“What?!?” Hermione and Ginny shrieked at the same time. Everyone else was looking at Anna with shocked and angry faces, but it wasn’t like she could see them. Her vision was completely blurred because of the incessant tears flowing freely from her eyes.

“How do you know?” Hermione asked.

“Dumbledore told me.” She said quietly. “It was some sort of initiation for the future Death Eaters. To be a Death Eater you need to be 18, Draco just turned 18 a little over a week ago. I don’t understand though…” she began. “Why did they kill my parents? It doesn’t make any sense!” She said angrily.

“Don’t worry, Anna. Malfoy’s going to pay big time for this.” Harry said in an angry and bitter voice.

“No!” Anna said suddenly making everyone look at her in a surprised way.

“Anna! He killed your parents! Do you think that I’m going to go back to school and just watch him get away with it? What kind of a friend do you think I am?!?” Harry yelled.

“Harry, Dumbledore said I couldn’t do anything while he’s still at school. Dumbledore doesn’t even know if it was him for sure, but I do. And anyways, if anyone is going to make him pay, it’s going to be me.” Anna said so fiercely that Harry didn’t argue back.

The days before the start of the new term flew by. Anna hadn’t talked about the death of her parents since the day she talked to Dumbledore. She kept herself busy doing all sorts of things like helping Mrs. Weasley in the kitchen, playing Quidditch with the others, working on homework with Hermione, and other things. But no matter how busy she kept herself during the day, every night before she fell asleep, all she could picture was Draco. She didn’t know how she was going to be able to face him when classes started back up.

The morning of the last day of holidays, Anna and the rest packed up their things and made their way back to Kings Cross Station. In pairs they ran through the barrier. They said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

“Anna, be safe sweet heart.” Mrs. Weasley whispered into her ear as she enveloped her in a motherly hug.

“I’ll try. Thanks for everything Mrs. Weasley.” Anna said hugging her back.

“Any time, dear.”

“Anna, come on we’re going to miss the train!” Ron yelled at her.

“Coming!” Anna said breaking away from her hug with Mrs. Weasley and grabbing her trunk. She ran to the train and gave one last wave to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley before boarding.

Anna, Harry, Ron, and Hermione found an empty compartment and sat down (Ginny went and sat with some of her friends who were in sixth year). The train ride mainly consisted in the boys playing many, many games of Exploding Snap and Hermione and Anna watching.

“We’re here.” Hermione announced to everyone as the train came to a stop. Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Anna made their way out of the train and got into a carriage. It was snowing outside and they were all shivering even though they all had coats on. Anna seemed to be shivering the most. It wasn’t just because she had moved from Texas where the winter was like 50 degrees. She was cold of course, but mainly she was shivering because she was terrified of going back into that school to face the people who were responsible for the death of her parents.

The carriages came to a stop and the four friends made their way up to the castle with the rest of the students who were coming back from visiting their families. They walked into the castle extremely happy that it was considerably warmer than it was outside. Anna started making her way up the stairs when Harry called out, “You not coming to dinner, Anne?”

“No… I’m not really ready to go in there just yet and then act like there’s nothing wrong.” Anna replied.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione nodded understanding how she didn’t want to face the people. Harry was wondering how he was going to be able to refrain himself from walking into the Great Hall and strangling Malfoy right away.

Anna walked into the Gryffindor Common room and was not surprised to find it completely deserted. She made her way up to her dormitory and sat herself on her bed. After a few minutes in silence, she reached under her bed and found a picture album of her family.

Harry watch Anna make her way up the stairs and couldn’t help but feel sad for her. Sure he had lost his parents, but he never really knew them. He lost Sirius at the end of his fifth year, so he could definitely relate, but there was the fact that she had lost both parents and her brother in less than a year. Harry was going to have a hard time restraining himself from attacking Malfoy when he saw him. He turned and followed Hermione and Ron into the Great Hall when Anna had turned a corner so he could no longer see her.

They took sat down next to Ginny who said, “Anna didn’t come?”

Hermione shook her head no and said, “I think she needs a bit more time before facing everyone in classes tomorrow.” When Hermione said “everyone”, they knew she was talking about the Slytherins.

“If it were me…” Ginny said slowly turning her gaze onto the Slytherin table. “I wouldn’t care what Dumbledore said about not doing anything while at school.” She said with an angry scowl as her eyes fell onto Malfoy.

Harry followed his gaze with an expression that almost matched Ginny’s identically. He glared at Malfoy who was just sitting there with his hand holding up his chin completely ignoring Pansy who was no doubt trying to flirt with him. Malfoy felt eyes on him so he looked up to the Gryffindor table even though he was trying his hardest not to. He looked up and saw Ginny and Harry both glaring at him. Harry met Malfoy’s eye and glared even harder. He expected some sort of sneer or smirk back from him, but got no expression back. Malfoy looked away and turned his attention to some of his fellow Slytherins.

“I could kill him,” Harry muttered still glaring at him.

Before anyone could say anything, Dumbledore stood up and silence immediately fell across the Hall. “Before we begin our feast, I must inform each and every one of you of a murder that took place over the holidays.” He said. Harry glanced quickly towards the Slytherin table and saw a few of them trying to not smirk. At this, Harry felt his blood begin to boil and forced his gaze back on Dumbledore.

“The parents of a fellow student here were viciously murdered. It is not my place to tell you whose parents they were, but I do feel that I must tell you this: hold on to the ones you love,” he said gravely. “Never be afraid to tell them how you feel about them because you never know if you will see them again. Enjoy every moment you have with your loved ones, and never take them for granted.” Dumbledore said grimly. He was silent for a few moments before announcing the beginning of the feast.

After dinner, Harry, Hermione, and Ron made their way back to the Gryffindor Common Room together. Hermione said good night to the boys and walked into her dormitory to find Anna asleep on her bed with a photo album out. Hermione walked over to Anna’s bed and took the album off of it so nothing would happen to the pictures. She looked down at the open page and saw three different pictures. The first picture was a boy who looked a lot like Anna, Adam no doubt, giving Anna a piggy back ride outside. Hermione smiled as she saw the happy faces on the two of them. The second picture was of three people, Anna, Adam, and another girl. The girl had dark brown hair and brown eyes. Hermione knew it was Anna’s older sister, Emily, only because she had a smile that matched Anna’s perfectly. Even though their hair and eye color were different, it was obvious they were sisters. Hermione looked to the third picture and saw five people sitting around a giant cake that had 16 written in very large numbers. Hermione watched as Emily and Anna’s parents cheered Anna and Adam on as they blew out the candles together. Hermione closed the photo album quietly and placed it on Anna’s dresser. Hermione got into bed and tried to imagine what it would be like if she didn’t have her parents; she couldn’t. She thought back to what Dumbledore had said before the feast.

“Never be afraid to tell them how you feel about them because you never know if you will see them again.”

Hermione decided tomorrow she was going to tell people how much she cared for them because Dumbledore was right. What had happened to Anna’s parents could have happened to anyone. Hermione didn’t want anyone close to her to die with out them knowing how much she cared about them.

Chapter 24 Title: Veritaserum

Sorry its been a while! I had finals, I was studying mega hard! Heres the next chapter! After this chapter, there will only be six more!

Disclaimer: Nothing you recognize is mine. It all belongs to the amazingly talented JK Rowling. The other characters are mine.

Anna woke up the next morning to find her room mates already getting dressed. She groaned and rolled out of bed thinking about how she really didn’t want to go to class that day. Just then, Hermione walked back into the dormitory from the bathroom. When she saw Anna awake, she walked over and gave her a hug.

“Morning, sleepy head!” She said in a cheerful voice. “Everyone missed you last night at dinner, especially me. You’re one of my best friends did you know?”

“You’re one of my best friends too ‘Mione. Why are you in such a good mood this morning?” Anna asked.

“No reason, ok time to get ready! Go get dressed we’re going to be late for breakfast!” She said.

Anna looked at the time and realized she was right. Breakfast started in less than thirty minutes. She ran into the bathroom and took a quick shower. She dried her hair with magic and then got dressed. When she was done, she and Hermione walked down into the Common Room where they found Harry and Ron waiting for them.

“Morning!” Hermione said in a happy voice when she saw the boys waiting for them. Before they could say anything, she pulled each one into a hug. “You guys are the greatest guy friends ever!”

“Umm… thanks Hermione… now could you let go of me… I kind of can’t breathe.” Ron managed to say because Hermione was hugging him so tight.

“Oh, sorry.” She said with her face turning pink as she let go of him and Harry. “Ok, well, let’s go to breakfast!”

Hermione pulled Ron out of the Common Room and Harry was about to follow when he realized that Anna hadn’t moved from her spot yet.

“Coming?” he asked her.

Anna seemed to snap out of a daze and looked away from the portrait hole where Hermione and Ron just went through. “Sorry,” she said following him out of the Common Room. “I was just wondering… do you know what’s wrong with Hermione? I mean the way she’s acting isn’t bad or anything, just different you know?” She said as they were walking making their way down to breakfast.

“No, no, I know what you mean. I think she’s acting this way because of Dumbledore’s speech last night at dinner.”

“Dumbledore made a speech last night?” Anna asked as they walked into the Great Hall together.

“Yeah, but don’t worry. All he said was one of the students lost her parents over the break and then he started talking about how we should let our loved ones know how much we care because before you know it they might be gone or something like that.” Harry explained as they sat down next to Ron and Hermione. Anna purposely sat with her back to the Slytherin table and had not chanced on glance that way the whole time she had been in the Great Hall.

After breakfast, Ron, Harry, Anna, and Hermione excused themselves and set off for their first class which just happened to be potions with Slytherins.

“Ugh… so I’m thinking about skipping Potions.” Anna said as they made their way out of the Great Hall on the way to the dungeons.

“Anna,” Hermione said severely. “You can’t skip Potions just because we have it with Slytherins.”

“I know, I know… I just don’t know if I’m ready to go and face them already. I mean I’m still not over what happened, and the fact that I have to act like I don’t know it was them…” Anna said in a sad voice. She was no longer extremely angry at the Slytherins. Of course she was angry, I mean they killed her parents. But she was more upset over the loss of her parents to think about her anger for them.

“I know, sweetie.” Hermione said putting her arm around Anna’s shoulder. “But you not going to class is just going to give them the satisfaction that they want.”

“You’re right, ‘Mione. Soo…what do you think Snape has planned for us today?” Anna asked as they walked into the completely empty classroom and took their seats at the back of the room.

“Something pretty close to impossible no doubt.” Ron said.

Anna looked around the empty classroom. In a matter of minutes her classmates were going to be coming in. Anna felt tears coming to her eyes so she quickly crossed her arms on the table and placed her head on her arms. She concentrated extremely hard on not letting the tears fall. She heard people walking into the room and taking their seats. Anna suddenly couldn’t control her tears when she heard a certain voice, Draco’s voice.

Harry, who was sitting next to Anna looked over and saw her with her head down on the table. He then heard her start to sniff. Harry looked up and saw Malfoy had walked into the room and was sitting in between Crabbe and Pansy with Goyle on the other side of Crabbe. Harry noticed that a couple of the Slytherins kept taking glances at Anna and then smirking. He caught some of their eyes and glared at them.

He placed his hand on Anna’s back and patted her to calm her down. He leaned down so he could talk in her ear and so no one would be able to hear him.

“Anne, you going to be alright.” He said softly. He heard a muffled “no” come from her. “It’s alright, Anna. Remember we’re here for you ok? We’ll help you
get through this.”

Anna sat up and turned her back towards the Slytherins. “Thanks,” she said as she wiped her eyes so they wouldn’t see her pain.

“Any time,” he said as Snape walked through the door.

“Today we will be doing the most difficult potion you have ever made in your short potions history. You will be concocting the veritaserum potion. You will find the instructions on the board, and the ingredients in the cabinet. This potion will take longer than one lesson to complete. It will take a total of four lessons in all to complete this potion. This assignment will require you to come after class to work on it. I will assign what times you will be coming at the end of class. Now, get to work.”

Anna looked on the board and saw the long and complicated potion instructions. She groaned as she thought about coming down to the dungeons after class hours to work on her potion. “Fun…” she thought. Anna walked to the cabinet to get her supplies from the cabinet and Draco went to get his supplies at the same time.

“Hi, Anna,” he said tentatively as he took laced pixie wings out of the cabinet.

Anna pretended she couldn’t hear and ignored him. She looked through the cabinet but couldn’t find what she was looking for.

“Here,” he said hanging her the jar filled with laced pixie wings. “I’ve got all the ones I need.”

“Thanks…” she said taking the jar from him but still not looking at him. She could feel tears welling up in her eyes. She could tell he was about to say something else, but before he could, she took the correct number of laced pixie wings, put the jar back into the cabinet, and walked away from him.

While Anna was working on her potion, she was actually grateful Snape had given them such a difficult potion; it kept her mind off of the death of her parents. At the end of class, after they put their potions away for later, Snape announced the times they would be coming after classes. Each person would go with one other person.

“You must come every night at the assigned time; there will be no excuses.” Snape said. He then began reading off when each person would be going and who they would be sharing the classroom with. “Anna Jameson, come at 9:30 and the person sharing the classroom with you will be Draco Malfoy.”

Anna groaned and let her head fall on the table. He finished calling the rest of the times for her classmates, and as he did this, Anna repeatedly hit her head on her desk. It wasn’t until Hermione stuck her hand where her head was about to fall. “I got paired with Pansy…” she said angrily.

“Yeah, well you won’t be in the same room alone with the murderer of your parents.” Anna hissed at her.

“I would see if I could trade, but I think Pansy isn’t that great of an option for you either. I think she was there too.” Hermione whispered to her.

The bell rang signaling that it was time for lunch. Anna felt someone looking at her and when she looked up she saw it was none other than Draco himself. She glared at him before throwing her things into her bag and storming out of the class room with Harry, Ron, and Hermione following quickly behind her.

Chapter 25: Partners Part 1

Chapter 25 Title: Partners Part 1

Hey everyone! Sorry I wanted to get this chapter out sooner but I had to go to a funeral out of town. But now I’m back for two whole weeks! And by then all of the chapters should be up! Thanks everyone who reviewed last chapter!

Disclaimer: See something you recognize? Mhmm…that’s because it’s not mine It’s JK Rowling’s…yeah not mine! I’m NOT claiming it to be mine! My other characters… yeah I take credit for those!

The rest of the day Anna was in a terrible mood. What was Snape playing at? Didn’t he know that Draco was one of the ones responsible for her parents’ death? Didn’t he realize she would rather be partnered with almost anyone besides him?

“Hey, Anna, it’ll be alright. Just ignore him. Don’t listen to anything he has to say. Ignore him sweetie.” Hermione said during dinner as Anna was stabbing her mashed potatoes with her fork over and over again. Ron was getting tired of hearing her fork hitting her plate over and over. Clink Clink Clink Clink Clink . Ron then reached around Hermione and pulled the fork out of her hand slamming it down onto the table.
“Anna,” he said. “Attacking your food is going to do nothing, and it’s really annoying.” He said.

”What crawled up his arse?” Anna muttered making Harry laugh.
Anna looked up at him and grinned as she looked in his bright green eyes that were sparkling. Anna tried to ignore the butterflies she was getting in her stomach from looking into his eyes. “Damn, what’s wrong with me?” she asked herself looking away from him. “This is not the time to be falling for him again. I don’t need a boyfriend right now; I’ve got enough problems as it is.”

After dinner, the four friends went back up to the Common Room and worked on their homework together by the fire in silence. Anna couldn’t really concentrate though; she was dreading what was going to come in a couple of hours.

Just after they started working, Ron had to leave to go and work on his potion. Anna silently cursed him because he wasn’t paired with a Slytherin. He was paired with Seamus so it wouldn’t be bad at all for him. Anna finally managed to concentrate on her homework for awhile. She completed her Transfiguration essay and was only left with Charms. She had just started her Charms when Hermione left the Common Room to head down for her Potions meeting. About five minutes later, Ron and Seamus came back together laughing and talking about Quidditch.

“How was it?” Harry asked him as he sat down.

“Not bad, but then I wasn’t stuck in a room alone with a Slytherin and Snape. The potion’s a bit difficult though. I saw Hermione on my way back here. It was quite amusing watching her walk down the hallway muttering evil things about Pansy.”

Harry and Anna both laughed. “Uhh… I do NOT want to go through with this. And it’s not like tonight is the only night. Four weeks of this hell. Was Snape there?” Anna asked suddenly.

“For the most part,” Ron said. “Some times he’d leave the room for about 10 minutes, but not for that long.”

“Good, at least I won’t be completely alone with Draco…” Anna said. Harry and Ron went back to working on their homework, but Anna had given up on trying to do her Charms essay. Every few minutes, Anna would check her watch. She had finally become so nervous that her legs had involuntarily started to shake. At about 9:20, Anna stood up to make her way down to the dungeons.

“Hey, Anne, if you want I can go to my time a bit early to make sure nothing bad happens or anything because I’ve got the time right after you.” Harry offered when he saw how nervous she looked. Anna nodded even though she had no idea what he had just said. She walked away from Harry and Ron with out even saying goodbye.

Anna made her way out of the Common Room and walked down several flights of stairs making her way towards the dungeons. Anna had already passed Hermione who was heading back up to the Gryffindor Common Room, but she didn’t notice her because she was too deep into her own thoughts. Anna walked slowly down the last flight of stairs that led to the dungeons. She reached the Potions classroom and took a deep breath before opening the door and walking in.

Anna looked around and saw Draco already sitting down. Snape was sitting at his desk waiting for her it seemed. “So nice of you to make it, Miss Jameson.” He said. “Now I would advise you to take that seat next to young Mr. Malfoy right there because the two of you will be sharing ingredients and it makes more sense this way.”

Anna stood there glaring at him. “That little git!” She thought to herself. “First he makes me share my time with Draco and now he’s telling me that I have to sit next to him?? Things can NOT get any worse than this.”

“Miss Jameson, do you intend on standing there all night glaring at me, or do you intend on starting your Potions assignment for the night?” Snape said in his deadly evil voice. Anna rolled her eyes at her Professor and walked over to the seat next to Draco. She caught his eye and he smiled at her. Anna pulled her chair as far away from him as she could before sitting down.

“Thank you, Miss Jameson, for finally cooperating. Now if the two of you will excuse me, I have a very important meeting with Dumbledore and I will not be here to supervise you. I will return, however, in about forty five minutes to an hour which is when you should be finishing up with tonight’s assignment. You may leave as soon as you have finished and put away your potion. The assignment is on the board. Good luck to you both.” Snape said and he stood up and walked briskly out the door.

Anna groaned and thought, “Great, just when I thought this couldn’t get any worse; it does.” Anna stood up and made her way to the cabinets where her potion was being stored. Draco quickly stood up and followed her to get his potion as well. Anna crouched down to get her potion off of the bottom shelve. When she turned around she almost turned straight into Draco who was standing dangerously close behind her.

“Get out of my way, Malfoy.” She spat. He moved out of the way and she made her way back to her seat. She quickly wrote down the assignment and double checked it to make sure she had written everything down correctly. Draco came back and sat next to her.

“Look, Anna…” he began.

“Malfoy, being stuck in this room alone with you is hell enough for me. Please don’t make it worse by talking to me.” Anna said as she measured her ingredients.

“I really do need to talk to you, though.” He said in an almost pleading voice. Anna looked over at him and saw an upset look on his face. “Please let me talk to you.”

Chapter 26 Title: Partners Part 2

Disclaimer: see something you recognize? Mhmm… that’s because it’s not mine. Its JK Rowling’s not mine! The “other characters” yeah those are mine.

Hmm… just incase u forgot what happened last chapter:

“Look, Anna…” he began.

“Malfoy, being stuck in this room alone with you is hell enough for me. Please don’t make it worse by talking to me.” Anna said as she measured her ingredients.

“I really do need to talk to you, though.” He said in an almost pleading voice. Anna looked over at him and saw an upset look on his face. “Please let me talk to you.”

“Well, maybe I don’t want to talk to you.” Anna said angrily trying to focus on her potion. Draco hadn’t even started on his night’s assignment. He seemed so intent on getting Anna to talk to him.

“Fine,” he said in a calm voice. “That’s alright. You don’t want to talk to me… but I can still talk to you. Will you at least listen to what I have to say?”

“I don’t want to hear what you have to say. Nothing you have to say can change my opinion of you… and nothing you say can change what you did.” Anna said and her voice shook a bit.

“Anna… please you need to listen to me. I know you know what happened to your parents. And I know you’re blaming me because you think it was me.” Draco said.

“I don’t think it was you.” Anna said simply still not looking at him. Draco was shocked at first until she continued. “I know it was you.”

Draco groaned slightly in frustration. “Anna, please look at me! I need to talk to you about it.”

Anna made no indication that she had heard what he had just said. She continued to stir her potion counterclockwise. Draco gave up with trying to talk to her now when he realized that he had just wasted 15 minutes of his time trying to get her to talk to him when he should have been working on his potion. They worked in silence for about twenty minutes which Anna was extremely grateful for. Anna only had three more steps then she would be done with the night’s assignment. She estimated that it would take her about ten more minutes. “Ten more minutes…” she thought to herself. “He better not start talking to me again!”

To her relief, he didn’t talk to her for the next ten minutes. She was putting her potion back into its holder and was headed to the cabinet when he finally spoke out.

“Anna, I didn’t mean for it to happen.” He said very suddenly turning away from his potion to look at her. His words hit her hard. She kept her back towards him and put her potion into the cabinet very slowly as her eyes filled with tears. “Anna, did you hear me?” He asked.

“What do you mean you didn’t mean for it to happen?” She burst out turning around and looking him in the eye. “You killed my parents so you could be a bloody Death Eater! How could have not meant for it to happen?” Anna shouted no longer able to keep the tears in her eyes off of her cheeks.

Draco saw the tears falling down her cheeks and took steps towards her. “Anna, I told you that I didn’t want to be a Death Eater.” He said quietly when he was standing extremely close to her now.

“Then why were you there?” She whispered, her voice shaking.

Instead of answering, Draco reached out and wiped away one of her tears with his thumb. Anna then quickly pulled away from him and hissed, “Don’t you dare touch me you sick bastard!”

“Anna, I didn’t have a choice!” He said angrily. “My father would have killed me if I didn’t join!”

“So to save your own life, you take the lives of two innocent people? I see where your heart lies Malfoy. Oh wait… that’s right! You don’t have a heart. You are a heartless bastard and you DESERVE to die!” Anna screamed. “I hate you!” She spat angrily. Anna turned on her heel and ran out of the room with tears flowing fast from her eyes. She turned a corner and ran right into someone. She backed away and muttered an apology and tried to make her way around the person.

“Anna?” he asked. “Anne, what happened?”

“I hate him, Harry. I hate him.” She sobbed when she realized it was Harry she had ran into. Harry walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her enveloping her into a close embrace. They stood like that for a few moments; Anna with her face buried into his chest crying, and Harry patting her hair trying to soothe her. After a few minutes, another set of footsteps were heard heading towards the dungeons. Harry turned to see that they belonged to Snape, but didn’t let go of Anna.

“Mr. Potter, I will not allow public displays of affection outside of my classroom.” Snape said.

“Excuse me, sir. This is not a public display of affection… more like a private display of concern.” Harry said.

“Any way you would like to put it, I will not allow such a sickeningly embrace in front of my classroom especially when you should be inside the classroom starting on your night’s assignment.” He said. By now Harry had let go of Anna, but she was still standing very close to him. Before Harry could make another remark, two different sets of footsteps were heard, each coming from a different direction. Malfoy came out of the classroom because he had finally finished his potion, and Goyle was making his way down to the classroom to work on his potion.

It was an odd moment no doubt. Malfoy stopped and looked at Anna who refused to meet his eye and moved a bit closer to Harry as if for protection. Goyle had stopped walking too; he stood watching the scene in front of him wondering stupidly what was going on. The silence was ended by Snape. “Mr. Potter and Mr. Goyle, please get into my classroom before I have to deduct points for tardiness. Miss Jameson and Mr. Malfoy, head back to your Common Rooms.

Harry nodded and gave Anna a quick kiss on the top of her head and whispered in her ear, “Remember, Anne. I’m always here for you.” Anna nodded and watched Harry, Goyle, and Snape walk into the Potions classroom leaving Anna and Draco alone in the hall.

Anna was just about to walk away when Draco spoke. “Are you and Potter together?” He asked hesitantly.

She turned to face him but didn’t look at him. “What does it matter to you? It’s not like you care about me. And besides, you’re with Pansy.”

“You’re wrong,” he whispered softly taking a step closer to her. “I care more about you than any other person. And I’m not with Pansy. She was just a girl I used in hopes of getting over you.”

Anna turned her head so she wasn’t facing him. He was even closer now. Her mind kept telling her to either hit him or make a run for it, but it seemed as if she couldn’t move at all.

“Anna,” he whispered quietly. “I know what I did was stupid, but I need for you to give me another chance.” As he said the latter part, he brushed a strand of her blonde hair out of her eyes. As soon as his hand made contact with her skin, she snapped. She slapped him hard across the face. The slap echoed off the walls of the dungeons and made it sound twice as loud as it really was.

“I’d rather date a flobberworm than you. You’re disgusting, evil, and a bastard and I will never give you a second chance. You are nothing more than pure-blood filth.” Anna said evilly then turned on her heels and stormed back to the Gryffindor Common Room leaving Draco alone in the dungeons with his had on his cheek where an imprint of her hand was left.

Anna stormed into the half empty Common Room. She saw Hermione and Ron sitting close together on a couch by the fire. She stomped over to them and threw herself into one of the comfy chairs near them.

“Didn’t go too well, I’m guessing.” Hermione said causing Anna to glare at her. “Ok, I get it. Do you want to talk about it though?”

“No, I think I just need to relax for a bit and think.” Anna sighed.

“Ok, fair enough. Then we –” Hermione said standing up pulling Ron up with her, “will just go and let you think things over in quiet.”

“Where are you two going?” Anna asked in a suspicious voice glancing between the two.

“Um… a walk.” Ron said quickly. “Around the castle. But never mind us, Anna. You just stay here and rest in the peace and quiet.” Anna rolled her eyes as Ron pulled Hermione out of the room. Just as Hermione was about to leave, she turned around and grinned at Anna.

Anna amused herself for a few minutes as she thought of Ron and Hermione back together; it was so obvious. “If they can get back together,” she thought to herself as she looked into the fire in front of her and as the students around her started heading off to their dormitories, “then maybe there’s hope of me and Harry getting back together.” Anna looked down to her favorite ring that was sitting on her right hand; Always with You, it said. Anna spent a long time looking at the ring Harry had given to her for Christmas. Did he give it to her meaning he would always be there for her as friends? Hadn’t she been the one who told him that she wanted him to move on? He had gone on a date with Jessica while she was dating Draco… what was going on between them now? Why did Anna care?

All of these thoughts ran through her mind as she sat in the comfy arm chair playing with her ring. She had sat there thinking so long that Harry had just arrived back from his Potions. He saw the Common Room empty except for Anna. He walked across the room and took a seat down on the couch nearest her. He watched her finger the ring he had given to her for Christmas. It was obvious she hadn’t heard him come in.

“Anna?” He asked making his presence known.

Anna jumped slightly in her seat and looked up and saw Harry sitting across from her on the couch. “How long have you been there?” She asked still trying to get over the shock.

“I just sat down. Did Hermione and Ron go to sleep?” Harry asked. He was quite surprised to see a faint smile play across her lips.

“Oh, they left about an hour ago, holding hands to take a walk around the castle…”

Harry chuckled softly. “Good. They’ve been broken up long enough.”

“Yeah, they were so meant for each other. I’m glad they finally realized it.” Anna said.

“So what are you doing still up?” Harry asked her.

Anna then stood up suddenly and walked over to the couch and took a seat next to Harry. “Thinking,” she said simply.

“About Malfoy?” He asked quietly.

Anna shook her head no.

“Then what were you so deep in thought about when I came in here and sat down?”

Anna turned so she was looking into his bright green eyes. The room would have been dark, but she could see him clearly because of the fire that was blazing next to them. She took a deep breath before saying, “you.”

Chapter 27 Title: Embarrassing Moments

Ok, ok! I’m sorry!! I hope y’all don’t hate me!!! I haven’t updated in FOREVER I know!! Uh I’m so sorry! Ok so… enough talk and I’ll just get on with the long awaited chapter 27.

Disclaimer: I don’t own harry potter!

“Me? What about me?” He asked curiously.

“I don’t know… just different stuff. Like how you seem to be around when I need to be saved from Malfoy… the ring you gave me… your date with Jessica…” Anna said trailing off.

“Me and Jessica? What about us?” Harry asked in a confused voice.

“Your date…are you going to date her again?” Anna asked hesitantly.

“I don’t know… I haven’t really thought about asking her out again…why?”

Anna shrugged and shifted her gaze to the fire that was slowly diminishing. “I don’t know… just wondering.” She said now slightly embarrassed.

“Oh, well I don’t think it’s going to work out with us… she’s not really my type I guess.”

“Oh, I see,” Anna said in a slightly happier voice as Harry looked at her in a puzzled manner.

“Ok… yeah.” Harry said now feeling slightly awkward sitting there alone in the Common Room with her. “So…” he started but drew a blank on what to say next.

“I think I’m going to go to bed now,” Anna said with a smile.

“Night, Anna,” Harry said with returning the smile. Smiling was contagious when he was around Anna.

She took him by surprise when she leaned over and gave him a hug, “Thanks for being here for me, Harry.” She whispered in his ear as her arms were wrapped around him.

“Any time, Anne,” Harry said now grinning even broader than before. Much to Anna’s dislike, she broke her hug with Harry and sauntered up the stairs to her dormitory. At the top of the stairs she turned to wave good night to Harry and was surprised to see he was staring right at her; Anna had a feeling he had been watching her leave the entire time. Anna waved goodnight to Harry, and he smiled and called out, “Sweet dreams, Anne.”

“Anna…. Anna…. Anna, wake up!” Hermione whispered softly. Her friend looked so tired, she felt so terrible about having to wake her up. “Anne, you have to wake up, we’re going to be late for breakfast,” Hermione said in a slightly louder voice. Anna just groaned and rolled over so her back was to Hermione.

Hermione looked around her empty dormitory. She had woken up over an hour ago to take a shower and get ready. When she woke up she saw how exhausted Anna looked and decided she would let her sleep in a little. Now if Anna didn’t get up now and get ready, they were going to be considerably late for breakfast and most likely late for their first lesson which was Transfiguration. Hermione was at a loss for how she should wake up Anna when suddenly her eyes fell onto Anna’s hand. There on her hand was the ring Harry gave her; Anna never took it off. Hermione would often see her gazing at it with great affection in her eyes. Hermione would also see Anna gazing at Harry with great affection in her eyes as well. A mischievous smile played across Hermione’s lips as she thought of a way to wake up Anna. Figuring everyone was downstairs for breakfast already, Hermione shrieked as loud as she could, “Oh my gosh, Harry! What are you doing in our dormitory?!?”

That certainly got Anna going. She left out of bed pulling her comforter with her covering her body up and yelled, “Oh my gosh, HARRY! I’m in my pajamas!!” Anna looked wildly around but didn’t see Harry, all she saw was Hermione bent over with her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath from laughing so hard. “Hermione I almost had a heart attack!” Anna shrieked at her best friend. She grabbed a pillow from her bed and threw it at Hermione, but Hermione only laughed harder.

“We…. are…. going…. to be late…. for breakfast,” Hermione said in between giggles and gasping for air. “Breakfast starts in…five minutes.”

Anna glared at Hermione one last time before pulling her clothes into the bathroom and changing. She didn’t have time to do her make up and hair manually so she pulled out her wand and muttered a simple spell so her hair was perfectly straight and fresh new make up was applied. She walked out of the bathroom and found Hermione still there apparently waiting for her. The two grabbed their book bags and walked down the stairs into the Common Room.

They were both extremely surprised to see that it was not empty. Hermione had been wrong; not everyone had left already for breakfast.

“What was with all the yelling and screaming?” Ron asked curiously when he saw the girls enter the Common Room.

“Yeah… and do I want to know why I heard my name being yelled?” Harry asked while laughing.

Hermione’s face broke out into a grin, “I’ll tell you at breakfast. Come on lets go we’re going to be very late!”

The four friends made their way down to the Great Hall as quickly as they could. They walked through the doors of the Great Hall and, unsurprisingly, every head turned their way as they walked towards their seats at the Gryffindor table.

“I hate walking in with them all staring like that. Why else do you think I hate being late for any of the meals?” Hermione asked once the people in the Hall had turned their attention back to their friends and food.

“So…” Ron began eagerly. “Tell us about the screaming from your dormitory this morning.”

Anna rolled her eyes, “Hermione has the weirdest ways for waking people up.”

Hermione laughed and began, “Well, when I woke up Anna was still sleeping and she looked really tired so I decided to let her sleep until I was out of the shower. When I got out of the shower, Parvati and Lavender had already left and Anna was still sleeping. I tried asking her to wake up but she kept turning her back towards me so I decided to yell ‘oh my gosh, Harry, what are you doing in our dormitory?’ and aah! I wish you guys could have seen Anna! She jumped out of bed and wrapped her blanket around her screaming ‘Harry I’m in my pajamas!’”

By the end of Hermione’s story, Anna was bright red with embarrassment and all three of her friends were laughing. “Glad to know I can give you guys some morning entertainment,” Anna said bitterly as she stabbed her eggs with her fork.

“Aw, come on, Anne! It was funny!” Hermione said still laughing.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Anna muttered. She dropped her fork and bent down to pick up her book bag. “I’m going to go to class now.”

“Anna, classes don’t start for another ten minutes.” Ron said looking at her in amazement that anyone would want to get to class ten minutes early.

“Yeah, whatever,” Anna muttered as she stood up from the table and walked away with out a second glance.

Anna walked out of the Great Hall and once again many heads turned and followed her. Anna ignored the stares, however, and made her way to the Transfiguration class room. Anna felt her eyes start to burn as she stood against the wall right by the class room. She closed her eyes and silently cursed herself for getting so embarrassed so easily. Hermione didn’t know how Anna felt about Harry. Hell! Anna didn’t even know how she felt about Harry!

“He probably thinks I’m some weirdo for jumping out of bed when I hear his name.” Anna said out loud.

“I would rather you jump into bed when you hear my name,” Anna heard and her eyes snapped open to see none other than…

ooooooh!! I wonder who it is!! Well… not really… I know who it is….ok well thanks so much for reading and I do hope you take the time to review. It will only take you about two seconds to tell me what you thought about this chapter. I’m always looking for criticism and ideas on how to make my story better :D

Chapter 28 Title: Tell me

umm... please dont hate me...

Disclaimer: … I still don’t own harry potter much to my dislike…

“He probably thinks I’m some weirdo for jumping out of bed when I hear his name.” Anna said out loud.

“I would rather you jump into bed when you hear my name,” Anna heard and her eyes snapped open to see none other than…

…the tall, blonde haired boy who was slowly but surely turning her life into a hell on earth.

“What are you doing here Malfoy?” Anna spat angrily at him, her guard going up immediately at the sight of him.

“Have you forgotten already? I’ve got Transfiguration with you.” He said with the slightest hint of his trademark smirk playing on his lips.

“Don’t you flash that hideous smirk at me! Do you want to be hit again, Malfoy?” Anna asked sweetly as she smiled fondly at her memory of hitting him.

“No,” he said simply.

“Then what are you talking to me for, because I am so close to hitting you again.”

“I think I would rather have you hitting on me, Anna.”

“What is wrong with you, Malfoy?” Anna said exasperatedly. “You’re acting even more strange than usual! I honestly did not think that it was possible, but here you are… proving me wrong.” Anna said in a bitter and angry tone.

“Ok, ok, ok.” Malfoy said. “You’re right, I am acting weird, but maybe it’s because I don’t know how to act around you any more.”

“Well, I don’t know how to act around you either,” Anna began. She then looked both ways to see if any one was around. “You bloody killed my parents!” she said while glaring at him.

Malfoy closed his eyes and had a look of pure grimace on his pale but attractive face. It was as if he was remembering something he didn’t want to remember. He then opened his eyes and looked Anna straight in the eye. “You really need to know my side of the story, Anne.” He said quietly and almost pleadingly.

“I know all I need to know.” Anna said shortly.

“No, I want you to know what exactly happened. Why do you think Snape left us alone last night? He knows that I need to tell you what happened. He also knows that you need to hear what happened.”

Anna began to hear footsteps off in the distance. She could vaguely make out voices coming her way, but she didn’t care about them right now. She was wondering if she should hear what he had to say.

“Malfoy, what are you doing here?” Anna heard a voice to her left say angrily. Anna turned and saw Harry standing next to her ready to protect her from Malfoy like he always did. She also say Hermione and Ron standing a bit off to the side watching the situation but deciding not to join in and complicate things even more than they already were.

“Talking to Anna, Potter. What does it look like? Not only are you disturbed in the mind, but you’re losing your sense of eyesight as well.” Malfoy retorted.

Harry turned and looked down at Anna. “Is he bothering you, Anna?” He asked sweetly.

Anna turned and looked between Malfoy and Harry. Anna could see Harry’s “I must protect Anna from evil things” guard up when she looked into his eyes. When Anna looked at Malfoy, she could see him pleading with her to let him explain what happened.

“I don’t think so...” Anna answered Harry quietly. “No, no he is not.” Harry raised his eyebrows in disbelief.

There were a few moments of awkward silence but it was broken by the loud sound over head of the bell signaling the end of lunch.

“Right then…” Anna said. “Shall we go in?” she asked tilting her head towards the door of the classroom.

Harry shrugged then brushed past Anna with Hermione and Ron following close behind him leaving Draco staring intently at Anna.

“Will you listen?” he asked simply.

Anna thought for a second then decided she did need to know. “Ok.” She said quietly. Anna looked up at him and could tell he looked really relieved.

“Thanks,” he said. “We can talk tonight when have to work on our potions right?”

“Yeah…” Anna said with her voice trailing off. “Well, um, I think I’m going to head into class.” She said as she saw people coming their way to go to class.

Draco nodded and then followed her into class. Anna found her friends in their usual seats and took her seat between Hermione and Harry.

Hermione looked up and saw that Professor McGonagall had yet to come to class and there were about three minutes before class started so she turned to Anna and asked, “What the hell was going on in the hallway, Anna??”

Anna groaned and put her head in her hands. “Draco was asking me if I would listen to him about what happened that day.”

Anna didn’t have to say which night; Hermione knew she was talking about the day her parents were murdered. “And what did you say?” she asked in a shaky voice because she could tell the answer with out Anna saying anything.

“I hadn’t said anything when you three showed up… but just now after you walked into the classroom I told him I would listen to what he has to say when we work on our potions again tonight.” Anna said quietly waiting for and outburst, which was exactly what she got, but not from Hermione.

“Anna what are you playing at?” A voice erupted from Anna’s right. She turned and looked into the eyes of a very upset Harry. “What if it’s a trick? This IS Mafoy we’re talking about here.”

“Harry, please lower your voice, people are starting to stare.” Anna started calmly. “I can do what ever I want and talk to whomever I wish. I feel like he has something he really needs to tell me, and I want to know everything I can about my parent’s death. I might be blaming the wrong person, Harry. I need to know what happened.” Anna said her clear, light green eyes never leaving his emerald bottle green ones.

“Fine, do what you want, Anna. See if I help you out of this one.” He hissed angrily.

Anna rolled her eyes and was about to retort back about how she didn’t need him to be her hero, but was never able to because McGonagall walked into the room and instantly beginning class.

All class Harry didn’t say a word to her which was just fine with Anna. She didn’t pay that much attention to the lecture on changing the texture of a surface into a completely different texture. She couldn’t help but look at Draco multiple times during class. It was as if her eyes were drawn to him. So many thoughts were running through her head that at one point she was staring at him for over five minutes lost in thought, and Anna didn’t even realize she had been staring until Hermione elbowed her hard in the ribs.

Class was over before Anna knew it. She looked down at her parchment meant for notes and saw that it was blank. She hoped Hermione would let her borrow her notes, but had a feeling she was going to get a lecture on paying attention in class. She couldn’t ask Harry because he was blatantly ignoring her, and it would be pointless to ask Ron to borrow his notes because he had never taken notes that Anna had ever seen. Anna groaned and wondered how she was going to do the homework for the night with out any notes as she slowly stood and grabbed her books. She trudged along after Hermione to their dormitory where they left their books. Anna quickly reapplied her makeup and brushed her hair before heading down to dinner.

Some how dinner and working in the Common Room on homework flew by and in no time Anna was making her way down to the dungeons to meet Draco to work on their potions. She arrived about a minute early and found Draco and Snape were once again already there waiting for her. Anna took her seat next to Draco, and Snape cleared his voice.

“I am sorry to say that I will once again not be here to supervise, but I trust each of you to some extent. By the time I am back, you should each be finished with the night’s assignment for you potion. You will find the instructions on the board. Good luck to you both.” Snape said then walked out of the class room his black robe swishing behind him as he walked.

Anna stood up and retrieved her potion from the cabinet. She looked up at the board and copied down the instructions on to a spare bit of parchment. Then began working on her potion. She and Draco worked on their potions with a silence between them for about ten minutes. Finally, Anna could not take the silence any more and she turned to Draco and said, “Tell me what happened.”

Chapter 29 is here!
OMG WOW! Ok heres the newest chapter that was NOT up when my story got deleted! Please please please review yall! The story is ALMOST OVER. One last chapter after this!!! Review please and let me know if I should do a sequel… I think I should, but if y’all don’t want me to, I won’t. Please review!

Disclaimer:… I STILL do NOT own harry potter…. Siiigh ….. just my other characters and my plot

Draco stopped working on his potion and turned to look at Anna. He took a deep breath and began his story.

“I received a letter from my father the day before the end of the term. He told me it was time to follow in his footsteps. I knew what that meant; it was time for me to get the mark, even if I didn’t want it. He sent a portkey for me and a few select others to use at nine in the morning while the rest of the school was attending breakfast. I reluctantly took the portkey and found myself at my house surrounded by Death Eaters. The Dark Lord was not there at the moment and wouldn’t be there for sometime so I went up to my room taking my time and stayed in there for a while. My mother came and found me. She was always very concerned for me, much more compared to my father’s affections towards me. She asked me what I was doing in my room while everyone was downstairs waiting for the arrival of the Dark Lord. I told her I didn’t want to become a Death Eater, and I would never be like my father.”

Draco said the last part about his father bitterly. Anna had completely forgotten about her potion by this time. She had sat down and was staring intently at Draco waiting for him to continue. He took a deep breath and continued with his story.

“She knew that I didn’t want to be a Death Eater… she knew I would never be as evil as my father was – and still is. She didn’t want me to be like my father. She secretly gave me an illegal portkey, a knut, to use if there was an emergency. She said all I would have to do was tap it with my wand and it would send me to the Leaky Cauldron so I would be far enough away from the Malfoy Manor to escape. I do not think my mother knew just what was going to happen that night though. She told me to use the portkey then go into hiding. Before I could ask her what she was going to do, my father came and told me the Dark Lord was there, and I was to be presented to him. I walked as slowly as I could, and I can remember slightly shuddering when I met him for the first time. His red eyes still haunt me to this day. He informed me and the few others of what the task was to be worthy to receive the mark. We were to go to a powerful wizard’s home and kill all of the people there. He said that the wizard was not only powerful, but a close ally to Dumbledore who needed to get out of the picture. He said his name was Mark Jameson. I knew immediately that he was your father because I remember you speaking highly of him.”

Draco stopped talking again and looked at Anna. Her eyes were glistening with tears but she was trying to prevent them from falling. Anna nodded at Draco telling him to continue. He took another deep breath and continued on with his story.

“The Dark Lord would not be accompanying us, and neither would any of the Death Eaters. We were in charge. It was an all or nothing. There were six of us in all, and out of the six I was the most powerful and was the most dominant. It was an unsaid agreement between the other five that I would be leading them through this. We took a portkey and landed just outside the house. It was snowing and cold, but we weren’t shivering because of the low temperature. No, we were shivering in anticipation and excitement, or in my case: fear and apprehension. Through the window we could see a man and a woman putting Christmas decorations up in the house and on the tree. They looked so happy and cheerful with the light from the roaring fire reflecting in their eyes. I remembered the portkey my mother had given me, but I had no idea what I was going to do. I had to save them, but I wouldn’t be able to do it with out getting into serious trouble with my father and the Dark Lord. I decided it was worth it and I put my hand in my pocket and fingered the knut my mother gave me. I looked towards the others and nodded. Because of their eagerness and excitement, they rushed into the house blasting the door down. It took me several seconds to realize that I might not be able to save them. I ran in after them towards your parents pulling out my wand and the portkey. Before I could reach them several killing curses were sent out, and they both fell to the floor. No one realized what I had tried to do. They saw my wand out and figured I had sent a killing curse as well. I vaguely remember the cheering going on around me. The scene flickered oddly before my eyes. The radiant glow from the decorations made it feel as if I was caught in a dream and couldn’t wake up. There in the midst of several teenagers were two dead adults; their wands lying far off on a table. They had no way to protect themselves. I stood there with out moving as if I were paralyzed. The next thing I knew, we were back at the Malfoy Manor. That night I received the Mark with no choice. There was a celebration after the receiving of the Marks, but I found myself in my room where I wrote you that note. But here I am now, a Death Eater with the death of the parents of the girl I love which will forever make me feel guilty.”

Draco looked at Anna and met her eyes which were unable to stop the tears that were now falling silently down her face.

“What did you just say?” Anna asked him whispering softly.

Draco broke their eye contact and looked down at his feet before muttering, “I said, ‘so here I am now, a Death Eater with the death of the parents of the girl I love which will forever make me feel guilty.’ Anna, I’ve told you before that I love you. I also said that nothing, not even my father could stop me from loving you.” After he said this he met her gaze again. Anna took a step forward and wrapped her arms around him for a hug.

“Thank you so much for trying to save my parents.” Anna whispered into his shoulder. Draco held onto her as she started crying harder and tried to soothe her.

“Ahem.” A coughing noise came from the door way of the room. Anna and Draco broke apart. As Anna was wiping her eyes on her sleeve she looked up and saw Harry standing next to Snape with Goyle standing behind the two. Snape looked oddly happy as if he knew that Draco told Anna what happened. Harry couldn’t have looked less like Snape. He looked confused, hurt, and angry.

“Sorry, Professor,” Anna muttered.

“I have a strange feeling that the two of you do not have your potion ready tonight,” Snape began with a slight smirk. “Although I do hate to tell you this, Mr. Malfoy, the two of you will be receiving zeros for you potion seeing as how tonight’s assignment was necessary to be done tonight to make the potion correctly. There will be no need for the two of you to come any more at night. The two of you may now leave.”

Anna nodded not really caring that she got a zero on her potion. She could care less. She got rid of her potion with the wave of her wand and walked out of the classroom before any one could say anything else to her. Blinded by tears, Anna stumbled through the empty corridors. She didn’t know where she was going, but it seemed like her feet were carrying her somewhere. When she stopped, she wiped her eyes and looked to see where she was, in front of Dumbledore’s office. Anna took a deep and shaky breath. Yes, she needed to speak with Dumbledore. Why hadn’t she thought of this before? He would help her. There was only one problem, though. Anna didn’t know the password.

Before Anna could think of what to do, Anna heard a voice behind her. “Miss Jameson, what a delightful surprise!” Anna turned and saw Dumbledore smiling at her. “What can I help you with, my dear?”

“I was wondering if I could talk to you,” Anna asked in an uncertain voice.

“But of course! Why don’t you follow me into my office.” He then turned to the entrance of his office and said, “Acid Pop.” The entrance then opened, and Anna followed Dumbledore uncertainly to his office.

“Please, sit!” Dumbledore said indicating a chair that was positioned right in front of his desk. Anna sat down silently. Dumbledore then sat down across from Anna and looked at her expectantly.

“Professor,” Anna began. She couldn’t manage to meet his eye so she focused her gaze on her ring. No, no! She couldn’t look at that, not now at least. She came here determined to tell Dumbledore something. Thinking of Harry would not be a good thing at a time like this. Anna inhaled deeply and exhaled deeply once more. She then looked up into Dumbledore’s trusting and comforting eyes. “Professor, I can’t stay here anymore.”

“Where is ‘here’, Miss Jameson?” Dumbledore inquired.

“Here… in…London. I can’t stay here anymore.”

“I see… and where will you go?”

“Back to America, sir,” Anna said in a soft whisper.

“And when do you wish to leave?”

Anna took one last deep breath before saying, “As soon as possible.”

“Well, Miss Jameson, I can help you on your way at any time, now even if you would like, but there are things that you must consider before deciding the time you will leave.” Dumbledore told her.

“Like what, sir?”

“Well, if you left for America right now, then you would need to be enrolled in a new school and take your NEWTs there, but you could stay here for the remainder of the year and take your NEWTs here. The decision is yours, but my I give my opinion, Miss Jameson?”

“Of course, sir.”

“I recommend staying here for the remainder of the year. If you changed to your old school in America or a different one, it would cause immense amounts of stress and no one needs extra stress at the time of NEWTs.”

“You’re right, and I don’t think I need more stress, but I think staying here would be stressful for me. There are too many things here that I don’t want to deal with.”

“Well, Miss Jameson, it sounds like you’re trying to run away from your problems.”

“And what exactly is wrong with that, sir? You hear people saying all the time ‘you can’t run away from your problems’, but I say why not? Why can’t I leave here and forget about everything and everyone?” Anna said choking back a sob.

“If you believe leaving is the right thing for you to do, Mrs. Jameson, no one can stop you from making that decision. Only you can decide where your future lies. So, Miss Jameson, when do you wish to leave?”

Anna thought to herself about all of her options, but no matter which way she looked at it, she could only see one answer to his question.

:D aaah!!! Ok theres one last chapter!! Please please please let me know if I should do a sequel! Please please please review!! Thanks so much!! I love yall soooo super much!

Chapter 30 Title: Starting Over

THE SEQUEL IS NOW UP (incomplete)

Disclaimer: wow… my last one for this story I must savor it…. Siiigh…. Harry Potter is not mine… has never been mine…. And will never be mine

It’s been a little over four months since Anna had that talk with Dumbledore. She made her decision, and she felt like it was the best decision she could make. Anna just finished her last NEWT yesterday and tomorrow she was done with school completely.

“Hey, Anna, how do you think you did on Potions yesterday?” Anna’s newest and closest friend, Lena, asked her.

“Pretty good; my last school prepared me a lot for Potions, and I’ve actually come to like the class as shocking as it sounds. How do you think you did, Lena?”

“Meh, who cares? I mean I know that once I leave this place I’m not going to use potions for anything. Ok, well that might not be true, but I’d like to think it was.” Lena said with a laugh.

Anna and Lena made their way down together to their last dinner ever laughing and joking around as usual. Anna wasn’t all too sad about finishing school for good. The only thing she was really going to miss would be hanging out with Lena every day.

“Ok, well I’ll talk to you right after dinner babe,” Lena said giving Anna a sad smile then making her way over to the Ravenclaw table and Anna made her way over to the Gryffindor table for her last meal at Hogwarts ever. That’s right, Anna decided to stay at Hogwarts, but it was incredibly hard. For about a week after she made her decision, she was constantly dodging Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Draco. Finally after about two weeks of this, they gave up in trying to talk to her. Anna felt bad of course, but she figured that since she was going to go America, she didn’t want to leave heartbroken over Harry and upset about leaving Hermione and Ron. She didn’t really care about leaving Draco; he was the reason she was leaving after all. Anna believed every single word he told her, and that’s what scared her. Draco trying to save her parents because he loved her was just way too confusing for Anna.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione didn’t seem to understand why she stopped talking to them. It seemed as if Ron didn’t care anymore and stopped trying to make an effort. Hermione always looked insanely distressed because her best friend was doing a good job of making sure she didn’t exist. Harry never gave up though. Every night at dinner he would go and sit by her, and they would eat together in silence. Sometimes he would talk to her, but she rarely answered back. Even if she did answer back, it would usually be in an answer that was just a couple of words. After about fifteen minutes, he would get up and go back to Ron and Hermione. Harry was making it very hard for Anna when it came to her thoughts of leaving, but that didn’t matter anymore, she was leaving tonight.

Anna was one of the first to sit down at the Gryffindor table, and she sat in her normal seat that she had been sitting in for those past months. Anna sighed as she took one last look around the Great Hall.

“No, Anna now is not the time to get emotional over this place. You are leaving tonight. You are flooing back to the states and you will finally be away from all of this drama.” Anna scolded herself under her breath.

“Talking to your self now, I see.”

Anna looked up and wasn’t surprised to see Harry talking the seat next to her.

“I was not talking to myself.” Anna said stubbornly.

“Ah! She speaks!” Harry said with mock shock.

“Harry, I’m not in the mood to talk to you.” Anna said as she tried to ignore Harry and listen to Dumbledore’s end of the year speech as he congratulated Slytherin on winning the house cup.

“Anne, you’re never in the mood to talk, but that never stops me from talking to you.”

“Well, now would be a good time not to talk to me.” Anna said.

“And why exactly is that?” Harry said raising his eyebrows as the food began to appear in front of them.

Anna rolled her eyes before turning to face and look him directly in the eye, something she hadn’t done in months. “Do you honestly want to know why I don’t want you talking to me right now?” Anna snapped at him.

“Well that would be my reason for asking.”

“Because talking to me tonight would do you no good. I’m leaving tonight and you will probably never talk to me again!”

“Whoa, wait what? What do you mean you’re leaving tonight? The train leaves tomorrow. Where are you going, and why am I probably never going to talk to you again?” Harry asked with a voice full of confusion.

“I decided a couple of months ago that I’m going back to the states to live. I’m flooing to the apartment that bought about two weeks ago. I was really lucky to find that apartment; it’s for witches and wizards you know. And, well, you’re probably never going to talk to me again because you might never get to see me again.” Anna said refusing to let her eyes well up with tears.

“Anna… why didn’t you tell me you were leaving?” Harry asked with shock covering his face. But Anna noticed that there was something more than shock on his face that looked a bit like sadness.

“Because… I didn’t want you to try and stop me.”

“Wow,” Harry muttered to himself as he ran a hand through his hair.

“What’s wow?” Anna asked him.

“I’m just surprised… and shocked… and…”

“And what?”

“I don’t know… I’m going to miss you though, Anna. Actually, I’m going to miss you a lot. Can I come and visit you?” He asked in a hopeful voice.

“Sure,” she said with a small smile on her face.

“Good, because I think I would go crazy if I never saw you again,” Harry said with a lopsided smile on his face that made Anna’s stomach flip.

Anna blinked several times in hopes of preventing the tears that were about to come. “You know, Harry, you’re making this very hard for me. That’s why I stopped talking to you. I knew it was going to be hard for me to leave.”

“But, I don’t understand why you’re leaving, Anna.”

“When Malfoy told me what happened the night of my parents’ deaths… I was confused – very confused. He told me how he tried to save them… and then he told me he loved me,” Anna told him not caring that a few tears were starting to fall. “I’m not capable of handling with him and his love for me especially when I’m in love with… some one else. I knew that after he told me what happened he would want the two of us to be together again, but I can’t be with him. It’s been so hard for me to be here the last couple of months. I’ve stopped talking to everyone in hopes that my leaving would be somewhat easier to me, but as it gets closer and closer, I’m realizing that it is going to be extremely hard for me to leave.”

“You don’t have to leave you know. School is over tomorrow, and you won’t have to see him anymore. You could come and stay with Hermione, Ron, and I like we talked about earlier this year. And what about that guy you just said you love? Won’t it be hard to leave tonight and leave him behind?”

“It’s time for me to go home, Harry. You’re right; if I stay here I may never see Draco again after tomorrow, but if I go back to the states, I’ll be starting over and erasing all of the pain that I’ve had to go through while I’ve been here. And as for that guy… well, he’s made no attempt of showing me that he cares about me more than just a friend. So another reason for going back home is to get over him. I’ve come to realize that we just weren’t meant to be together.”

As Anna finished talking to Harry, people were getting up all around them; apparently dinner was over. Anna looked up and saw a tearful Lena coming her way. The sight of her closest friend made Anna burst into tears completely.

“Well… it looks like it’s time for you to go.” Harry said sadly.

“Looks like it,” Anna said after taking a shaky deep breath. Anna stood up and gave Lena a hug.

“Anna! I’m going to miss you so much! I hate you for leaving me like this!” Lena said through sobs.

“Anna, where are you supposed to go right now?” Harry asked quietly.

“My stuff is waiting for me in the Dumbledore’s office. I’m flooing out of there.” Anna said between sniffs.

“Do you think we could go with you and see you off?” he asked.

“Sure,” Anna said with a smile.

Lena and Harry walked on either side of Anna. They passed people who looked at them oddly, but who could blame them? Anna and Lena both had tears streaming down their faces, and Harry looked as if he was losing his best friend.

The three made it to Dumbledore’s office where Anna said the password, “Sugar quills.” Anna took a deep breath before standing on the rotating stairs with Lena and Harry behind her.

“Ah, Anna, you’re here. Harry and Lena, what a lovely surprise! I’m guessing the two of you are here to give Miss Jameson a final good bye.” Dumbledore said when the three walked into his office.

When Harry and Lena nodded, Dumbledore continued, “Good, good! Well, Miss Jameson, your trunk is right there beside the fire place. The floo powder is in that small flower pot. Once you have said your good byes you may be free of this place at last.”

“Thank you, Professor, for everything.” Anna said giving the old man a smile.

“It has been a great pleasure of having you here at Hogwarts, Anna. I dare say I will miss you. I wish you the best of luck in what ever life brings you.” Dumbledore replied with a twinkle in his eye.

Anna gave him one last smile before turning to Lena. For a moment Anna just looked into Lena’s light blue eyes with out saying anything. Anna’s own green eyes filled with tears as she watched her friend’s eyes fill with tears. “You’re awesome, Lena. You’re such an amazing friend, and I’m sorry I have to leave you like this.” Anna said bringing her into a hug.

“Anna, you have to promise me that you’ll write me every single day, and that we’ll visit each other all of the time! I’m going to miss you so much, Anna.” Lena said as she pulled out of the hug and looked at her friend.

“I’ll only write you every day if you promise to write me every day,” Anna said with a laugh.

“Duh,” Lena said smiling through her tears. “Friends forever, right?”

“Right.” Anna gave Lena one last hug before she turned to Harry.

“I’ll see you around then, Anna.”

“Is that all you’re going to say to me, Harry?” Anna said softly as she took a step closer to him.

“Not even close,” Harry said with a smile. “Anna, I’m going to miss you so much. I honestly still don’t understand why you think you have to leave, but do what you think is right. If you think that leaving all of your friends and all of the people who care about you behind is the right thing to do, then I guess it is. And if you think leaving me behind is the right thing to do, then I think you should leave now. I think that if you want to leave me behind and you think that it’s the right thing to do, you need to leave before I tell you something that would be stupid for me to tell you because you’re leaving tonight. I thought I would have more time to tell you but now you’re leaving and –”

“Harry, you’re rambling and not making much sense.” Anna interrupted him.

“Sorry,” he said with an embarrassed smile as he looked down at his shoes. When he looked up, Anna was looking at him with an intense stare.

“Harry, I have to go.” Anna said simply. Anna walked away from Harry and closer to the fireplace until she was right in front of it. She took a handle of her trunk in one hand and a pinch of floo powder in another. Anna took a deep breath before she walked into the fireplace bringing her trunk with her. Anna looked at Harry one last time and said, “And for the record, I’m going to miss you too Harry.”

Anna then threw the floo powder down and yelled, “Apartment number 16, Jefferson Street.” The green flames engulfed Anna and took her away from Hogwarts. In that final moment before the whirlwind of flames took her, she was able to take one last look at the sad faces on all three of the faces that were in Dumbledore’s office.

A few silent moments passed in Dumbledore’s office before Harry was able to say, “I can’t believe she actually gone.”

“Me neither,” Lena sighed. “Well, I’ve still got to pack a few things before tomorrow… and I think I’m going to go write her a letter telling her how much I miss her already and she’s only been gone all of two minutes. I’ll see you tomorrow I guess, Harry. Bye Professor,” Lena said with tears still streaming down her face.

“Bye, Lena,” Harry muttered and Dumbledore smiled to her.

Lena walked out of the office leaving Harry and Dumbledore alone.

“Harry, I think you should have told her,” Dumbledore said quietly. “But there is no need to fret! You have all the time in the world to tell her how you feel, and you can always go and visit her.”

“Don’t worry, Professor. I will.” Harry said.

Anna landed with a great thud on the floor causing her to get a big carpet burn from the bright orange carpet that covered the floor clashing with the hot pink walls.

“Bloody hell…I don’t remember the colors being this terrible when I looked at this place.” Anna took out her wand and after changing the colors several times, she finally settled on light blue and white making the apartment look much more tolerable and friendly.

Since Anna wasn’t tired, she unpacked for a while. Although she could have used her wand, she preferred to go through everything she owned and figure out where to put things. She realized that she would need to go shopping the next day and buy all sorts of pots and pans and all sorts of other things. As she was going through her things she found the photo album that Hermione gave her for Christmas. Even though Anna thought she couldn’t cry any more, the tears filled up in her eyes and she looked through the pictures.

“Bloody hell, what have I done?” Anna muttered softly to herself.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! I never thought this would happen!
