Chapter 1: The Agreement

Chapter One

How am I going to say goodbye to them, Hermione thought as she paced back in forth in her kitchen. She could hear the loud music from her neighbor’s house. She had gotten accustomed to the noise and decided to just roll her eyes instead of hitting on the walls and telling her to lower the volume just like the rest of the neighbors were doing right now.

Just fourteen hours and twenty six minutes ago did she find her boyfriend shagging his ex-girlfriend. She didn’t know how to react to this, she knew he had done something wrong, but in a strange way she wasn’t surprised that this had happened. Ron had become distant and maintained distance from her. He wouldn’t wrap his arm around her waist and kiss her cheek like before. Instead he would hold her hand and stay away a pretty good distance.

She wasn’t the only who had noticed, Ginny and Harry had as well, but they didn’t know about Ron’s affair. She planned on keeping it a secret until she was gone, long gone. Away from the misery she called life. She enjoyed the company of the Weasely’s and knew that Molly would be devastated when she found out about this. It had only been six months since Fred had died and she wasn’t doing any better now.

Harry had moved in to the Burrow, much to Ron’s disliking. He helped Molly out as well as Ginny with moving forward with their lives and not mourning for the rest of their lives. Harry had become part of the family once he returned with Ginny. Ginny was better and seemed more alive, the small spark in her eyes returned and she seemed to be coming back to life.

Hermione had started to make plans of moving away, away from them. She knew it would cause them pain, but she had to do what was right for her. She wasn’t going to allow herself to be harmed for the one person who wouldn’t care a damn if she was in an accident. Ignoring the music from the apartment next to her she walked into her room and got a suitcase from under her bed. Grabbing her wand from the dresser she a swift move causing her clothes to neatly fold itself into the suitcase.

She sat at the small wooden desk in the corner of the room as her belonging continued to put themselves away in different suitcases. She made a phone call to the airport and bought a ticket to Beijing, China. A place she had visited only once with her parents and hoped to relieve the moments, even if it was without them. She grabbed her pen and a white piece of paper. She took a deep breath and started her letter.

Dear Weasley’s and Harry,
I know this may be hard to believe but I have decided to move away, away from this place and leave magic behind. I believed that I could do this, live a life in which I wasn’t too pleased with. Every corner I turn I feel like I’m being watched. I feel unsafe for most of the time.
And also, the recent events that had pushed me into deciding that me moving away would be a positive thing helped. I opened my eyes and I knew it was time to leave. Ron knows of what I speak of, he may not have seen me in his office but I did. I won’t be crying but I will be bitter for him hiding his feelings. He only need to speak the words and he would have been freed of me.
Please don’t take this as me abandoning you. I only hope to seek isolation for a few months. If I find a better life somewhere else, a place in which I will feel better please forgive me for not keeping contacting. If I do find one, which I know will be hard, please forgive me and know that I did this for all of us, not just me. I just want what’s best for everyone.
With all my love,
Hermione

Hermione felt a small tear slide down her cheek, taking a shaky breath she whipped it away and stood up from the chair. She looked around the room. There was a queen sized bed in the middle, the purple sheets neatly laid out. The glass doors leading to the small balcony were shut, the full body length mirror was set in the corner of the room. The room had nice grey color which suited her mood just fine right now.

She had grown a lot in the past few months. Her hair was no longer bushy, instead they were curls, her chocolate brown eyes were lighter, her tan skin had become paler and her body, well let’s just say she looked like a young woman.

She grabbed her belongings and walked out the door dragging them, not turning around to see if she had left anything behind. The living room was small, a TV was set on a shelve and a light green sofa was seated in front of it. A small book shelve contained her favorites were stacked on the shelve. She didn’t pack her books, instead she left them there and hoped Harry or Ginny would take them and guard them.

She grabbed her coat, happy for the small moment of noise the neighbor had allowed her and walked over to the door as she put on the coat. She grabbed the golden door knob and opened the door. She looked up, she had expected the landlord or someone else to be there, but not the person she saw there.

“Malfoy?” Hermione asked as she took a step back. She wasn’t frightened, just shocked. Especially when he saw him cradling something in his arms.

“Hermione, please can I come in?” he asked worried as the baby in his arms started to cry. Right as if everything seemed to be hating Hermione, the neighbor turned up the music causing the baby in Malfoy’s arms to cry harder. Hermione nodded and cast a charm over the baby so she wouldn’t hear the horrible sound her neighbor called music.

“Thank you,” Hermione heard Draco say. She looked at him, she really looked at him. He seemed to have grown as well. He was taller, his hair was less pale and brighter. He wore a black suit. He had a bag over his shoulder. Pink. It was weird seeing him like this, he seemed more mature as he looked down at the baby, trying to calm her down but failing.

“Give her to me,” Hermione said rolling her eyes. Draco hesitated, but gave the baby to Hermione. Hermione had baby sited during the summers. She had grown accustomed to crying babies and learned to calm them down until they finally fell asleep.

Hermione could feel Draco looking at her. She started to move around the living trying to calm the baby. Slowly the baby stopped crying and snuggled into Hermione. “You’re good with her,” Draco said from behind her.

“I used to baby sit during the summer,” she explained giving him a shrug sitting down and with a motion of a head told him to sit down as well. He nodded once and did as told. “Why are you here?”

“I need your help, Hermione. I know things will not be the same between us. Not after everything that I have done to you. But I’m desperate here. I need help with her. Her mother died a week ago and she was brought to me, but I have no idea what to do with her. She cries all night and day, I try to feed her but she doesn’t accept anything,” he says putting his head in his hands, his elbows on his knees.

“Hey Malfoy, don’t beat yourself down. We just have to find the father of the baby and you’ll be rid of her,” Hermione said softly.

“But that’s the thing. I can’t get rid of her, she’s mine,” he said. Hermione felt sick for a moment. At the age of eighteen, Draco Malfoy was a father. What were the odds? She looked down at the girl. Even as a baby she had the same cheek structure as her father. Hermione nodded, understanding.

“What’s her name?” Hermione asked. She looked down at the blanket in which she was wrapped in. An “A” was engraved into them.

“I don’t know, she just had an ‘A’ engraved into the blanket,” Draco said his chin resting on his palm.

“What do you need me to do?” Hermione asked confused. Draco looked up at her. A small spark lit in his eyes and Hermione felt her heart stop. He seemed kind unlike other times she had seen him. He didn’t smirk, instead he smiled.

“Hermione, I need you to help me take of her. She needs someone with experience, someone who will care for her and love her,” Draco said. Hermione nodded.

“So you want me to be her nanny?” Hermione asked. She was willing to take it. It might get her away from here. She would get to see her grow up and even if she hated admitting it she cared for the baby girl already and knew Malfoy would need a lot of help with her.

“What? No,” he said shaking his head. Hermione frowned. “I want you to be her mother.” Hermione looked up from the child. Her eyes met his and she knew he was serious. Why of all people, Malfoy ask her to be the mother of the child.

“So you plan on leaving her with me so that you can go run off and shag other women so that the story repeats? No thank you Malfoy,” she said putting the baby in his arms. He seemed confused and stood up following her into the kitchen.

“No, Hermione you might have misunderstood me. Yes, I want you to be her mother, I want her to believe you gave birth to her, but that needs to be done. She’ll need two parents. With both of us she can be a powerful witch when she grows up,” he said.

“Then she is to believe she is a half-blood. That really doesn’t matter, but what would your mother say and your father for that matter,” Hermione said. She knew the Malfoy’s had been freed and not sent to Azkaban. Many agreed and other disagreed on the matter. She decided to stay silent.

“They’re the ones who told me to come here,” he said. Hermione rolled her eyes before turning to look at him. She didn’t know what to do.

“And why should I agree to this. I suppose we would have to be married to look the part, but Malfoy you don’t want to married to Muggle-born like me do you?” Hermione asked trying to get out of this. “And there would be nothing I would get out of this.”

“I don’t care that you’re muggle-born,” he said angrily. For a moment Hermione was frightened but saw his gaze soften. “I just want someone to be her mother, someone who is willing to risk it all for her. Who’s willing to get married to me the person who bullied them their whole life? Just do it for her.”

“You really care about her, don’t you,” Hermione said.

“She’s one of the little things I have left that I can call my own,” he said looking down at the girl in his arms. Hermione nodded and put a hand on his arm causing him to look up.

“I’ll be willing to give it a try,” she said rolling her eyes.

“Now Hermione, the thing is that if you marry me, it’s a forever thing. Wizarding marriage is different from the muggle’s. Once you sign the paper you’ll be a Malfoy and you’ll have to act like a Malfoy,” he said softly trying not to scare her off.

“What does that mean?” she asks confused.

“Nothing much. You’ll just be taking etiquette classes with my mother. You’ll also have to look like one of us. That’s pretty much it,” he said.

“Doesn’t sound too bad,” Hermione said shrugging.

“So are you accepting?” Draco asked. Hermione looked once more at the baby girl in his arms and nodded bighting her lip. Draco smiled. “Thank you.”

“So when do I become a Malfoy?” Hermione asked jokingly.

“Right now actually,” Draco said

“I was only joking,” Hermione said looking confused. Hermione followed Draco as he walked back into the living room and went over to the baby girl’s bag. He reached inside the bag and a brought out a yellow folder. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure,” he said sitting down.

“Before I sign these papers. What will I be expected to do?” she asked. It was embarrassing. She had never talked about sex to anyone, not even Ginny whom she was the closest to. She felt a light blush creep over her cheeks as he looked at her curiously.

“Hermione, I won’t make you do anything you don’t want. We’ll take it slow. There will be no affairs, that’s part of the contract. We’ll know if we have,” he said passing her the papers.

Hermione looked down at the papers in her hands and read them, looking for any key holes. Everything Draco mentioned was in the contact. She was supposed to take etiquette classes, she was supposed to change her appearance for the sake of the family. Her last name from now on would be Malfoy. She wasn’t going to be forced into any sexual interaction if she wished not to. They weren’t allowed to have affairs, a spell would be cast over them once she signed the papers.

Hermione was surprised when she saw a birth certificate behind all the papers. It had a time, date, and father’s name but no mother’s name for some unknown reason and no baby name. Hermione looked up at Draco.

“I know, I was surprised as you are. She didn’t even leave her name. I knew her, she was a muggle,” he said. Hermione tried to hide her shock, but failed miserably. “I know. Draco Malfoy and a muggle. Things were difficult for me in the last months of the war and I took refuge in a muggle town. She was nice. She was exactly like you, actually. Even the appearance. That was another of the main reasons we thought of you. Bushy hair, hazel eyes and witty. A know it all.”

“Gee, thanks,” Hermione said smiling.

“She was nice enough. We looked into her background just in case but found nothing. Her parents were average muggles so we have nothing to worry about. She died a week or two ago. I never saw her after I left to fight in the war,” he said shrugging.

“Did you love her?” Hermione asked.

He shook his head. “No, I didn’t. I wish I could have gotten to know her better though. I was wondering. Are you going to want your ring now or later?”

“It really doesn’t matter,” Hermione said softly trying to hide her shock. She hadn’t expected to be getting a ring. Maybe a bracelet or earing but not an actual rings.

“Every Malfoy needs to have some family heirloom, even those who are married into the family,” he says taking out a ring. It was simple but beautiful. It might have been the most stunning thing Hermione had ever seen. The emerald green diamond was complimented by the smaller white diamonds surrounding it. The silver band was really nice, if I had been gold it would have looked horrible. Inside the band she saw small writing, Forever Mine .

“Forever mine,” Draco said as she read the words in her mind. “That was my touch.”

“Who would think that Draco Malfoy would be one for romance,” Hermione said smiling teasingly.

“Everyone has their soft spot,” he said giving her a small smile before looking down at the baby in his hand. “Thank you for doing this. Not just for her but for me as well. You don’t know what would have happened if you said no. I would have to have looked for a pureblood who would have pretended to be interested in her when really she was really just interested in money. Actually talking about money, how much do you want for doing this?”

“I don’t want money at all Draco! How could you think of such horrid thing? I don’t need the money, after we will be married and so we’ll be sharing accounts,” she said scrawling at him for being so absurd.

“See this is why I chose you, you don’t care about that. Not like other girls,” he said smiling at her. She rolled her eyes.

“Just give me the bloody papers,” she said her hand stretched out. He smiled at her and gave her the papers once more.

She grabbed a pen from the shelve and went back down to sit down with Draco. She signed the papers knowing that now she was no longer Hermione, she was no longer the eighteen year old she used to be. Now she was Hermione Malfoy, wife of ex- deatheater, and the child of a little girl. She looked at him as he looked down at the baby girl and thought, Yes, this was meant to be

Disclaimer I do not owe any of these character, obviously they belong to the one and only JK Rowling because without her we wouldn’t be able to do any of these fabulous stories that suck up our hearts and don’t fail to entertain us.

Well that was my first chapter for you. I didn’t know how this happened, I haven’t seen too many like these but I hope you enjoy these. Please excuse my lack of grammar. I just hope to write this as best as I can. Constructive criticism is welcomed

Chapter 2: Questions
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter Two

“Lucius will you stop eating with your mouth open, we have guest and I wish to welcome her into the family properly and not with our mouths full of food and open,” Narcissa said as Hermione smiled. Her parents had acted like that before she had erased their memories. Hermione hadn’t gone to Australia to look for them. She knew she should and would in the future.

“Don’t worry Mrs. Malfoy,” Hermione said feeling as if it were her fault.

“No Hermione, Lucius should know by now that at the table you must have manners whey you’re eating,” Narcissa said glaring at Lucius who gave her an innocent smile.

“Now Narcissa we all know why we’re here. Ms. Granger… should I say Mrs. Malfoy now is here to ask some questions, but we have some of our own now,” Lucius said. Hermione remembered once when she was younger, she had been intimidated by him, but now years later she sat tall and not afraid of whatever he said.

“Well Mr. Malfoy if you have questions fire away, I don’t have anything to hide. We’re family after all, aren’t we,” she said before taking a sip from her glass of red wine. Hermione caught a glimpse of Draco smiling as well as Narcissa before turning to Lucius who didn’t seem as pleased as he did a few minutes before.

“Well Hermione, we would like to know why you accepted Draco’s proposal so fast?” he asked sitting back and waiting for her answer.

“Well Mr. Malfoy I accepted Draco’s proposal because I saw the spark in his eyes, the spark only fathers have. Even you after everything you have done you have that spark. The spark that means that you love your child, that you want her or he to succeed in life. Am I right?” she asked him.

“Yes well who wouldn’t want their child to succeed,” Lucius Malfoy, pleased with her answer.

“There is also the fact that child is a beautiful thing. She seems to be one of those babies who melts people’s hearts with just a look. The child after all is a Malfoy. Still when I held her, she seemed warm, she didn’t seem like the image her family seems to be giving. Who knows what you did to get out of being sentenced to go out of Azkaban? Did you know Mr. Malfoy that people believe you threatened to kill the minster’s who family line?” Hermione asked. Narcissa and Draco gave each other a glance waiting for Lucius to explode.

“And why wouldn’t I?” he asked. Hermione knew what he was doing. He wanted to look dangerous, he wanted her to be in his hand like the rest of his family. She wasn’t going to give in the slightest, not at all. She knew they were hiding something but she didn’t know what.

“Because you have a granddaughter to worry about now, not just your son and wife. An extra member to keep from hates path. You don’t need more hate. What you need is to be looked at as if you were the perfect family. No threats towards others. Anyways you have the Order tailing you and the minster for sure would blabber to them, wouldn’t he. After all he was part of the Order,” Hermione said. It was true. Kingsley Shacklebolt had become minister after the war.

“Hm you seemed to have an answer to everything, but can you answer this question. Why do you trust us?” he asked. Narcissa rolled her eyes and Draco shook his head.

“Mr. Malfoy you seem to be under estimating. I do trust you and your family because we all know here from now on I will be the mother of Draco’s daughter. She may not have my blood but she will be raised my me and Draco along with you and Mrs. Malfoy. You wouldn’t want to kill you mother. For her I’m willing to trust anyone, even if it means trusting the people who once held me hostage and tortured me,” Hermione said. The words were strong, but somehow she said them clearly and strong.

“Lucius if she’s willing to trust us, it worth giving her a chance,” Narcissa said.

“I know Narcissa, but still can we trust her?” Lucius said.

“Well, Mr. Malfoy I don’t think you’ll have another choice, but to trust me. Now why don’t you let the rest of the guest come in? They sure have been in living for a while now, haven’t they?” Hermione said. The three people in front of her went pale. “I could hear them when I was coming in here,” she explained.

“Very well Mrs. Malfoy. But I must say this before I invite them in, they don’t know about our…agreement…” Lucius said leaving with Narcissa in his hand.

Hermione walked over to Draco who was looking out the window. “You did wonderful Hermione. Nobody would ever dare speak to my father like that, not even my father. You have an arrogance that can be great competition to ours,” he said smiling down at her.

“Well aren’t am I one of you now,” she said smiling. He rolled his eyes. “What will be expecting in this meeting?”

“We have been working on something. Just keep an open mind when they start explaining things. Since they don’t we’re married for A, we have to act like an actual couple, which means I can do this,” he said wrapping an arm her waist and pulling her into him.

“You’re arrogant aren’t you,” she said trying to relax in his hold since she had no other option. “By the way we have to give her a name. How about Amy?”

“No, it’s not Malfoyish,” he said giving her a smile. She rolled her eyes.

“Alice?”

“No.”

“Ariana?”

“Never.”

“Adaline?” she asked.

“It’s perfect. Adaline Rae Malfoy,” he said.

“Rae?” Hermione asked.

“My grandmother’s middle name,” he said. Hermione nodded as people started to walk. First were the Parkinson’s, then Greengrass’s, Zabini’s, Nott’s…etc. They all seemed shock to see Hermione there, especially with Draco’s arm around her. They didn’t sneer or do anything insulting. Still this was not the thing that surprised her. Her and Harry had been looking down the list of deatheaters, ex-deatheaters now. All of the families that were coming in were deatheaters.

“What are they all doing in here?” she asked Draco looking up at him, a furious expression on her face.

“You’ll find out right now, come on,” he said walking behind the last family that was coming in. They had a little boy with them. He was holding his mother’s hand. Hermione smiled at the boy as he turned around giving them a smile and waving at them.

“He’s my second cousin, from my father’s side,” he explained. “Arian Malfoy.”

“Your father has brothers? I didn’t know,” she said holding on to his arm.

“You don’t know a lot about us, but you will. After all you’re one of us now,” he said as they walked in a room. It looked as if it were a living room. There were several couches laid out throughout the whole living room. Each family sitting in their own couch. Some were familiar with each other and made small conversation.

Hermione and Draco went to sit down in one of the couches in the front. Lucius and Narcissa stood in the front. Both stood tall and worried.

“Very well, we shall begin this meeting. Now have there been any sightings,” Lucius said. Hermione seemed confused. She looked around and saw a man raise his hand. Next to him was his wife and Pansy Parkinson.

“Lucius we spotted the Carrows in London. We followed them for half an hour, they were going in circles, and we believe they were looking for something or someone. They didn’t see us but they fled rather quickly,” Mr. Parkinson said sitting down.

“Why are they looking for the Carrows?” Hermione asked Draco. He shook his head and turned as another man stood up.

“We found Bellatrix, Lucius. She was accompanied by the Carrows the last time we saw her which was a day ago. We believe they’re recruiting again. Lucius if we don’t stop this, a war will rage out. The ministry nor the order know about this and they will be taken down easily,” the man said. He was a grey suit, his white hair neatly trimmed.

“What’s happening?” Hermione asked Draco as the meeting went on. She tried to keep quiet, but she couldn’t help herself. Finally after dozens of questions of wonder, he finally gave up.

“Okay, look. After the war we found out several of the death eaters were planning on recruiting, yes I know so fast? Well the more time that passes the more time people start to become unsure. Our job now is to recruit those who had been forced to join the Death Eater by force,” he said.

“Your family was forced?” Hermione asked unsure. She had always believed that the Malfoy’s had become Death Eaters willingly.

“Hermione not all Death Eaters were willing Death Eaters. Look around, all these people were forced, now we’re trying to stop that from happening again. It’s happened twice, we don’t need a third time,” he said. “So we have to trace down the rest of the former Death Eater who did willingly become Death Eaters. We plan on capturing them, integrating them, oblivating them and sending them to the Order anonymously.”

“So you’re helping?” Hermione asked still not sure. Draco rolled his eyes, annoyed at her for not believing him.

“Yes Hermione it appears we are,” he said sarcastically. Hermione took a deep breath and sat back trying to understand what Lucius was talking about.

“Narcissa do I really have to be held back,” Hermione said as she tried to grab the salt on the table. She could almost reach it, but the spell Narcissa cast on her, prevented her from doing so. Narcissa had forced Hermione into calling her by her name instead of Mrs. Malfoy. After all Hermione was Mrs. Malfoy as well and it would sound strange for them not the be acknowledging them with their first name.
“Hermione, you have to learn, now eat the soup,” she said going back to her own soup. Hermione watched as she didn’t sat all the way back, she didn’t have the longest arms but she reached. Her back was straight and the napkin was in her lap preventing any of the meal to fall on her dress.

“Ginny what’s wrong? What does Hermione say?” Harry asked as the whole family sat down in the Burrow’s living room. Everyone turned to look at Ginny and Harry immediately.

“Hermione…Hermione…” she said repeated looking up. Her eyes met the eyes of her best friend’s boyfriend, ex now, she guessed. “You bloody git! You did this to her, to us. How could you!”

Ginny walked over to Ron, dropping the letter on the ground allowing everyone to look at it. “How could you cheat on her, she was your girlfriend. She’s Hermione Granger for god’s sake, nobody is better than her. Who were you shagging in that office?” Ginny screeched.

“LavenderBrown,” he mumbled meekly.

“Who?” Ginny asked loudly.

“Lavender Brown. It’s not my fault Hermione wouldn’t give me anything. You know what, I had to do what I had to do. Hermione wouldn’t do anything with me, only kiss. You know how boring that is?” Ron said.

“Harry and I only kiss. You don’t see him shagging someone else,” Ginny said as Harry walked next to her, his face tomato red.

“She’s bluffing you know that. She would never leave. We’re broken up, that’s fine. Lavender was always a better kisser anyways,” he said. That was all it took for Harry to lose it. He was tired of his friend making a fool out of Hermione. He grabbed Ron by the shirt and brought his fist down, hitting him in the jaw.

“If you think she was a good kisser, than you might as well marry her,” Ginny said tears streaming down her face. “But don’t expect me to forgive her. You tore her away from me, from all of us. I hope she finds someone out there in the world. I hope she doesn’t come back. You don’t deserve her. You never did.” Ginny grabbed Harry and ran up to her room.

5 years later

“Sh… James, come one eat for mommy,” Ginny said swaying her hips back and forth. Five years had passed since Hermione left. Ginny missed Hermione greatly, still she couldn’t help, but know that what she said to Ron five years ago was true. She did hope she had found someone better than her stupid brother.

Ron. Well he did what he said he was going to do. He married Lavender and no more than two months after their wedding she was pregnant. Jane Rose Weasely was as annoying as her mother. Still Ginny liked her enough to call her, her niece.

Harry and she had married three years ago. She missed Hermione and wished she had been there to be her bridesmaid. Since she wasn’t there, she had gotten Luna. Everyone had been fine with this since they all knew Luna never intended or intends to steal her love of Hermione. If it had been someone like Lavender, who had become mad when she chose Luna, then there would have been havoc at the wedding. Now nine months later she had James Sirius Potter in her arms.

“Ginny, I’m sorry to leave you so suddenly, but we think we might know where the Awakenings meeting house may be. We need to find them. We can’t find all the Death Eaters alone. We need their help. We may also find out who the leader is and negotiate. They think it might be a female but know who knows,” Harry said giving her and James a quick kiss.

“Fine come pick me up when you’re free,” she said hugging him and giving him a quick kiss.

Harry nodded and left Ginny with James. Harry had matured much, he had grown taller, almost as tall as the young Weasely’s. He walked down into the living room where he saw Ron waiting for him. He looked the different. His red hair was lighter and his brown eyes were darker. Lavender was following Moly around the house trying to help her, but Molly would shoo her away. Molly had never really accepted Lavender into the family.

“So do we have any idea who the leader could be?” Ron asked following Harry out of the house. They apperated in front of a scary looking house. It was huge, he remembered a house almost as big as this one. Malfoy Manor. He hadn’t heard of much of Draco Malfoy, just that he lived in France with his wife.

“No but she might be female,” Harry said. Ron and Harry had never exactly connected like before. Not after what he did to the whole family and Hermione. Hermione. He missed her very much, just like the rest of the family had. Molly and Ginny had taken it the worst of course. They had cried for weeks just like they with Fred.

Harry and Ron stood next to each other as the rest of the Order started to apperated next to them. Many of those who died weren’t there of course. Many had become distant with Ron because of Hermione, but they semi- respected each other. There were new trusted members as well and most of the old ones. The only member who wasn’t here and wasn’t dead was Kingsley Shackelbot. He was still Minster of Magic but was still as faithful to the Order as he had been before.

“Very well, everyone keep your wand at the ready. No killing, just stunning like always. Mr. Weasley please take a group to the East Entrance. George another group to the West Entrance and Seamus the South Entrance, Ron and I will take the North Entrance,” Harry said loud enough for them to hear.

Everyone nodded and they started towards the room. Harry led the group slowly. To their surprise there weren’t any wards or at least not anymore. As they made their way to the door, many of them came out. Their wands at the ready. Spells flew towards them, stunning spells which surprised Harry as much as it did to the rest of the group.

Harry and the rest of the group screamed stunning spells which flew in different directions, many of them almost hit them, but most of them he was able to dodge. “Go tell the Malfoys they’re here,” yelled one of the men who wore a grey suit. He was speaking to one of the boys. He look at Harry stunned. “Arian, now. Go take your mother to safety as well, we’ll go find you when things are over.”

The boy nodded and left. Having enough time to distract the men trying to stun them. Harry and Ron passed them and entered the house. It was big, the floor was made out of marble, and the walls were a light cream color. It didn’t seem like a place where a dark society would meet. All around the house you could see people running around, stunning each other. Harry and Ron ran down the corridors stunning people as fast as they could.

There were paintings handing on the wall, most of them seem to have been muggle, original ones. They must have been able to buy them, after all they are rich. They were running up the stairs when they saw George lying on the ground, stunned, not dead. Ron ran over to him, Harry following them. They examined his head, but there seemed to be no damage.

“Come on we have to leave before they find us,” said a familiar voice. It was a male’s voice.

“I know Draco. I just need to get something and we’ll leave. Our people can hold them back for a few more minutes,” said a female voice. Harry and Ron’s neck snapped up to see a couple walking rapidly down the stairs. They were a few stairs away when they spotted Harry and Ron.

Harry felt his inside melt. He hadn’t seen her in so long. She seemed nice and poised. It was her, his best friend, Hermione Granger.

“It can’t be,” Ron said next to him.

“Draco…Draco…run? Run!” she said her eyes widening. She grabbed Draco’s hand and started to pull him up the stairs. Without thinking about it, Harry followed.

This is the conclusion to Chapter Two. It took me a while to write this chapter. I would have updated soon but they came to my apartment to change the carpet into an actual floor and I had to pack everything up in boxes.
Anyways I hope you liked it. Please review it would mean the world to me if you did. I enjoy the feedback I’ve getting so far, I hope this chapter answers some of your questions.

Chapter 3: Illusinations?

Chapter Three

Hermione felt her heart beating against her chest as she ran towards the fireplace, getting her pouch, which was filled with extra floo powder. She passed the bag over to Draco as she heard the footsteps of Ron and Harry follow them. They ran into the fireplace. She turned and saw Harry and Ron a few feet away, not too close.

“Sorry,” she mouthed to them before dropping the powder and going to Malfoy Manor.

As they walked out of the fireplace, she felt someone hung her around the knees. She looked down and saw brown locks. The little girl looked up, smiling, her brown eyes sparkling. “Mummy, you’re back,” Adaline screamed in joy. Hermione bent down and lifted the girl up to her waist. She was wearing a green dress, one Narcissa obviously put on her.

“Oh sweetheart, I missed you. What did you do with grandma and grandpa today?” Hermione asked to the little girl. She could see Draco next to her looking at her. She gave him we’ll-talk-about-it-later look. He nodded and went to Narcissa who was across the room, he hugged her.

“Grandma made cookies for brunch, and grandpa bought me a broom and I flew really fast around the living room,” she said really fast. Everyone had been surprised that at such young age she could say her words clearly.

“A broom!” Hermione exclaimed. She looked at Narcissa.
“Honestly Hermione do you think we would buy her a real broom. It’s one for little kids, they’re old, we found it in the basement with Draco’s old things,” Narcissa said embracing Hermione in a tight hug.

“Sorry I’m a little jumpy,” Hermione said as Draco rubbed her back.

“The Order found our meeting house. We were ambushed. Adrian warned us they were there, we sent him home before they saw us. Hermione wanted to go get some papers, they were going up the stairs, we fled before they could catch up to us,” Draco said.

“Hermione you know you’ll have to go back soon. You won’t be able to go on like this for long,” Lucius said coming down the stairs.

“Yes, I know, but there isn’t a good time to do so now,” Hermione said letting Adaline go play with her broom.

“Well…this letter arrived yesterday, Draco got his, but he said we should wait to tell you. Professor McGonagall is arranging a reunion for those who fought in the war. If you want you can go, you’ll be spending Christmas in Hogwarts,” Narcissa said. “We asked McGonagall if we could visit, we wouldn’t want to spend Christmas without Adaline.”

“I don’t know. How are we going to explain everything to them?” Hermione said turning to Draco.

“There’s nothing to explain. We’re a married couple with a daughter that we love. If they can’t accept that, then they’re not worth it,” Draco said kissing her forehead.

“Are you sure?” she asked Draco as he picked Adaline.

“I’m positive. Adaline do you want to meet Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry?” he asked Adaline. Hermione had talked about the Weasely’s are Harry to Adaline. Even Ron.

“Oh, please! Can we! Can we, Mummy! Please!” she said turning to me excited ling.

“Why not?” Hermione said as Adaline continued to clap in joy.
~*~

“I’m scared Draco. What if they won’t accept, what if they won’t forgive me for leaving them,” she said as she packed Adaline’s clothes. They were supposed to leave tomorrow to Hogwarts, but they hadn’t had time to pack their belongings.

“Yes they will, you have been friends since you were 11, since you started Hogwarts. They’re going to forgive you, especially since you had a good reason for leaving. If I had been you I would have left as well,” he said wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her throat.

“I…know. Draco can you please stop that. I need to concentrate,” she said. He smirked causing her to roll her eyes. One thing Narcissa and Lucius didn’t know was that even after five years, Draco and Hermione still hadn’t had sexual relationships. To Hermione’s asks of course. She was comfortable with it just that she was nervous and afraid Draco wouldn’t want her that way.

“Fine. Adaline is staying over with mother today, I hope that doesn’t bother you. They just want to spend a few moments before we leave for a two week mini vacation,” he said taking the bag of Adaline’s and walking back to their room.

The room was pretty cozy for Hermione’s liking. It had a queen sized bed, silver silk bed sheets and red quills. Perfect for both Slytherine and Gryffindor. There were sofas nearby, dresser, a bathroom almost as big as the room, a walk in closet. Hermione went in the closet, Draco behind her.

“What should I take?” Draco asked. He looked confused as he looked through his suits.

“Draco,” Hermione said shaking her head. She walked over to the other side of the rail. She looked through the clothes they had gotten when they were Paris. “We’re going to be at Hogwarts, not a business meeting. Still take two just in case. Leave one of the out, I’m guessing that’s what you’re going to want to wear tomorrow for the reunion.”

“Of course, everyone is going to be there, everyone is going to try to outshine each other. Now should I chose your outfit,” he said smiling.

“No, thank you. I’ve been a Malfoy for five years, I think I know how you want me to dress. Elegant but not too elegant,” Hermione said. She grabbed a green dress, she knew it would be below her knees, and it wasn’t too revealing, after all she was married and mother to a five year old. “How about this?”

“Beautiful,” he said looking at it. “I think it suits you, but I would have thought you would have preferred something red, to support your house.”

“Nope, tomorrow night I will be supporting my husband,” she said laying it out on the bed. “We should get there early, to get a compartment.”

“You mean avoid the Potter and the Weasely’s?” he asked.

“Yes, I just want to wait till the feast to see them, I know you’ll enjoy the looks we’ll be getting if we arrive casually late,” she said smirking the Malfoy smirk she had learned to master over time. He smiled kissing her forehead.

“You know me too well,” he said kissing her jaw and finally her lips. She gasped at the sudden kiss before wrapping her arms around his neck. She was on her tiptoes at the point in which his hands went down to her bump pushing it up, allowing her to wrap her legs around his waist. Hermione didn’t notice when he started to move towards the bed, instead she felt her back hit the comfortable mattress.
His hand went down to her thigh, lifting her thigh up, pressing a kiss on her side. Hermione opened her eyes, and pulled down her skirt, causing Draco to jump off the bed. “I’m sorry,” he said looking out the window. Hermione walked over to him.

“No, don’t be. I’m the one that’s supposed to be sorry. I know it’s been over five years since you’ve gotten any…interaction. It’s just I’m waiting for the right moment, to give myself to you,” she said. He knew she was a virgin, they had cleared that up long ago. He understand she wasn’t ready and that they should wait. They both knew.

“I know and I promised you years ago, when I came to your flat that I wasn’t going to force you into anything you didn’t want to do. Now, let’s just forget it. We need to keep packing,” he said grabbing her hand, giving it a small kiss and pulling her towards the closet.

“Ginny, Molly!” Harry said walking into the room. Ron and Harry hadn’t said anything of what had happened back at the Awakening’s meeting house. Neither had expected to see their old friend there. Especially not with Draco Malfoy.

Ginny and Molly who had been cooking in the kitchen walked into the living room, followed by Fleur. All the family had gathered together, tomorrow they were to head back to Hogwarts to the reunion that Harry and Professor McGonagall had formed.

“Harry, is everything alright?” Ginny asked coming in with a worried expression. She was wearing a pink apron, flour covering most of it.

“We saw her…we saw Hermione,” he said in between breathes. Ginny and Molly’s expression brightened. They looked behind them were most of the Order was drinking water, catching their breath. Their expression once more fell.

“She’s alive. We think Malfoy has kidnapped her,” Ron said before Harry could say anything.

“Now, Ron. Don’t say that. The Malfoy’s haven’t been in contact with the British Ministry for years now,” Molly said rolling her eyes at her hothead son. Lavender came down the stairs with Jane on her tail.

“It’s true Ron, why would they kidnap Hermione, they would get nothing out of it,” Harry said.

“Harry, I know this might be hard, but don’t you guys think that you may have illusinated her. It’s been years and you both might be desperate enough to think you saw her, when really it was someone who looked like her, not actually her,” Lavender said. Of course she would. Hermione coming back wouldn’t be good for her marriage.

“No, we didn’t, she apologized. I saw it with my own two eyes,” he said pointing at his green eyes which seemed very desperate. Ginny didn’t miss this and grabbed Harry’s hand pulling him upstairs where James was sleeping.

“Ginny, I know you don’t believe me but-“

“Harry I believe you, I just don’t know what this will cause if she really is back. Ron has a family, but we all know, even Lavender that he would drop everything and get back with Hermione. She hasn’t kept in contact which means that maybe she found a new life, with someone else. Maybe she was there at the wrong time and she ran away not wanting to come back. Harry we can’t get our hopes up after one day, Ginny said putting a comforting arm on his shoulder as they looked down on a sleeping James.

“I know Ginny. Maybe this is for the best. We have enough to worry about with the Death Eaters coming back. We need to keep our family safe. Hermione will be fine, she’s smart enough,” he said meaning every word.

~*~

“Oh, Luna,” Hermione said hugging the blond girl. “It’s been almost a week. What are you doing here at this hour?” Hermione and Luna had kept in contact, the only reason was because she was engaged to Blaise, Draco’s best friend.
“Nothing we were just wondering if we could stay here for the night. We could head off together to King’s Cross,” Luna said. She had matured so much since she came out of Hogwarts. She had realized that her father’s belief in magical creatures were too absurd for them to be true, still she loved him and only acted like loony luna around him.

“Of course, Draco and I were about to eat. Are you hungry?” Hermione asked letting them. They had gotten a small cottage near Malfoy Manor, they could have easily lived there but the Manor seemed too big and Draco and Hermione decided to give Lucius and Narcissa their privacy
“Oh, please,” Blaise said coming in, embracing Hermione giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Blaise,” Luna said in a hard voice shaking her head. Luna had matured a lot, Hermione noticed smiling.

“Please it’s no problem I made too much for just Draco and me,” Hermione said walking them into the kitchen were Draco was watching the muggle television. He turned around as they entered.

“Hey mate. Hey Luna. I didn’t know you were coming,” he said smiling hugging both of them. Luna and Draco had created a strong friendship just like Blaise and Hermione had.

“We decided we didn’t want to spend the night with my mother babbling on and on about her precious vases she got in Paris. Actually I don’t think they’re expensive, I saw her buying them at a muggle yard sale. That women is going to bloody drive me crazy,” Blaise said shaking his head as Hermione and Luna giggled.

“So when’s the big wedding,” Hermione asked giving Luna a knowing smile. Luna blushed.

“Well we were thinking February tenth would be nice. We can spend Valentine’s day in Acapulco, sun bathing,” Blaise said.

“Actually there is another reason why we came here. Hermione, Draco we had been thinking about this for a long time. We want you to our braid of honor and best men at our wedding,” Luna said smiling.

“Of course,” Hermione said hugging Luna as Draco and Blaise did the same think.

“Oh, thank goodness, I thought for a moment you would deny,” Luna said taking a sigh of relief.

“What! No, we wouldn’t we would envy the people you would have chosen instead of us,” Hermione said.

“Very well. Is everything. Okay, you about tomorrow. Are you ready to go back?” she asked as Draco and Blaise went off to watch TV.

“Ya, it’s time. We can’t hide forever. And if I did accept to be you maid of honor I would have to face Harry and Ginny anyways, wouldn’t I?” Hermione said.

“Well, ya,” Luna said.

“Now come on, let’s go eat before the food gets cold,” Hermione said calling both boys to come sit down at the table.

“Come now Adaline get up, we’re going to be late and we won’t be able to get to go on the train or see the castle,” Hermione said trying to persuade her to get up. Lucius had brought her over around six. Narcissa would be busy in the morning and he had to go with the Awakenings and make sure security was would be good at Hogwarts when they arrived. At least a dozen of them would be there, including Draco and herself.

Nothing. Her eyes remained closed. Rolling her eyes she knew which card she had to take out.

“We won’t be able to see Aunt Ginny or Uncle Harry,” she said. Hermione almost lost her balance as he flung herself onto her.

“I’m sorry mummy, which dress should I wear, the blue one, the green one, the pink one?” she asked in a hurried voice.
“How about the purple one Grandma Cissy gave to you for your birthday?”

“Oh. That one is really pretty,” she said nodding.
“Can I do braid her hair?” Luna said coming in with a white dress that went mid-thigh.

“Luna you look beautiful,” Hermione said.

“Thanks, why don’t you go get dressed, I’ll do her hair in the meantime,” Luna said pushing me out of the room.

I walked to my room across the hall and found Draco putting on his white button up shirt. She walked into the room, giving him a small smile. She took a quick shower, casting a quick spell on her body and hair to dry it once she left the shower. She put on the green dress, and put on a little bit of makeup. Not a lot, she didn’t want to look like she was trying too hard. She straightened her hair and looked at herself in the mirror before she walked out of the room.

“Hermione can you…wow you look beautiful,” he said walking over to her and giving her a small kiss. She rolled her eyes at him before starting to work on his tie. He sucked at it, but thankfully Narcissa had helped her with the problem.

“Well you look quiet dashing yourself,” she said smiling at him. She finished and walked into the closet. She came back with a two pairs of closed heels. “Black or silver?”
“Black, it suits your dress better,” he said looking up.

She put them on as she walked towards the dresser. She brought out the small jewel box Draco had given to her for their first year of marriage. She looked and saw her wedding ring there, sitting, calling her name. She grabbed it and put it on her finger, feeling the safety wrap around her finger. She had forgotten to put on her wedding ring, she usually left it behind, not wanting to risk losing it at the meetings. It only happened once with the Order, but she still worried that they would attack.

“Ready?” Draco said as he grabbed the bags from the bed and turned to Hermione who seemed to have gone pale. He dropped the bags and went over to her, grabbing both of her hands. “We don’t have to go, if you don’t have to. I don’t want you to feel pressured into anything, especially not this.”

“No, it’s not that, I’m excited don’t get me wrong. It’s just I’m going to see them, I’m going to see them again.”

~*~
James Potter’s scream echoed through the compartments. There were several people who turned to glare, but their look softened once they noticed who it was. James Potter, just like his father, was very famous. He had received several gifts, even before he was born. Ginny had been overwhelmed. She was glad about it, but both she and Harry wished it wouldn’t always be like that, so that their son had a “normal” life.

“I don’t know what to do, he won’t stop crying. Oh Luna! You’re here, can you please hold James for me, I have to go look for Harry, I’m sure he’s with Ron,” Ginny said as she saw Luna and Blaise come down the compartment.

“Sure, but I will have to be going soon, we promised Draco and H- Adaline we would be on the train ride with them,” Luna said grabbing James out of Ginny’s arms.

“Adaline, is that one of Malfoy’s whores,” Ginny said smiling rolling her eyes.

“Not exactly,” said Luna frowning giving Blaise a warning look.

“Okay, I’ll be back,” said Ginny giving them both a weird look. She walked down the compartments looking for Harry, she found him talking to Lavender and Ron. Ron seemed happy to have Jane. Lavender well that was a different topic. He loved Lavender just not with enough or the same passion as Harry and Ginny had. That was one of the things Lavender envied her for.

“Come on Harry, Ron…We have to go. Dean and Seamus want to talk to you about something very important,” Ginny said giving a small smile to Jane.

“What about?” Harry asked.

“I think it would be best if you go see yourself,” she said looking at Jane.

“Yes, I think that’s better,” Lavender said agreeing. Both she and Lavender wouldn’t want a five year old to know the secrets of The Order.

“Very well lead the way,” Harry said.

~*~
“Harry, Seamus and I have been looking around you know on our free time, looking at people who look suspicious. Well last night when we were at a pub, we saw Astoria Greengrass,” Dean said.

“Yes so what? Astoria Greengrass is at pub. What else?” Ron asked urging them on.

“Well she had a suitcase with her. She seemed kind of nervous. She met Draco Malfoy there. They weren’t doing anything bad to my surprise, I always thought those two would end up together. They greeted each other like old friends. They had lunch. I didn’t notice when he took the suitcase, but Seamus did,” Dean continued turning to Seamus.

“Yes, I saw it with my own two eyes,” he said nodding. They were all dressed in tuxes so Ginny couldn’t help but smile. She hadn’t seen them this professional.

“Come on guys, let’s not get worked up. Today is a day we’re supposed to remember those who have fallen, and maybe have fun in the process of the week. The kids need to have fun. Teddy and Victoire will be wanting to see the castle and we will have to show them around,” Ginny said crossing her arms. Everyone smiled at the idea of wondering around once again the massive castle.

“Yes, we must show them around. Fleur might be busy, Madame Maximme might be coming as well. McGonagall didn’t say who else she invited besides the students,” Harry said nodding.
“Yes, she’s been trying to get me to stand up for her when she enters the room. She said it was a sign of respect for them to do so, even after they graduated, which I think is really unfair. I might do it, but I doubt,” Ginny said smiling.

“”Let’s just go back. Jane wants be to play with her for a while,” Ron said looking bored.

“Very well, I need to go get James, I left him with Luna and Blaise,” Ginny said.

“Ginny you know I don’t like you leaving James with Blaise,” Harry said shaking his head. Ginny rolled her eyes, he still wasn’t over the Slytherine rivalry.
“Oh, Harry stop worrying, it’s not like he’s going to throw James out of the train,” she said giggling.

~*~
“Oh, mommy look at how big the train is. The seats, the windows, I can see people outside, the train must start soon, yes it will,” Adaline said jumping in her seat.

“Yes, I know Adaline, now will you stop jumping, you’re going to wrinkle your dress, and we don’t want that,” Hermione said smiling at her daughter. Adaline smiled and nodded. Hermione turned to Draco who was sitting across her, reading a pamphlet. Hermione had casted a spell so that nobody would be able to look into the compartment.

“What is it?” Hermione asked.

“Nothing it’s just that Madame Maximme will be attending as well, we’ll get to see her. How long has it been since we’ve seen her, two years?” Draco asked.

“Yes, I think so. I was really grateful she allowed us back to go study there and complete our education, it might have taken longer than others but we got a better education. I don’t think Adaline remembers her,” Hermione said.

“Madam Maximme, is she the tall woman?” Adaline asked confused.

“Yes, how do you remember?” Draco asked curious.

“Because I saw pictures of you, mummy and Madam Maximme,” Adaline said shrugging.

“Of course,” Draco said rolling his eyes. “She had to be your daughter.”

Draco and Hermione did know that Hermione was the mother, no matter what. A person was a mother, not because she gave birth but because she loves her child and raised them.

Everyone knew that. Hermione and Draco turned as the compartment door was slid open. Blaise and Luna emerged from it.

“Hermione, we have been looking for you everywhere. Why did you put a charm on the windows?” Luna asked sitting next to Hermione while Blaise sat next to Draco.

“We didn’t want anyone to bother us,” Hermione said.
“Hermione they’re going to bother you anyways when we get off the train. Trust me you’ll be getting looks. Nobody in the Order was happy when I got with Blaise. They still aren’t, but they are going to have to live with it,” Luna said shrugging.

“Yes, I know, I just think it would be better if we arrived after everyone was in the Great Hall. I know Ron and Harry are going to freak out. Only a few people know about us, you and Madame Maximme included. They won’t take it well and I don’t want them to explode in front of other people,” Hermione said.

“Let’s change the subject we don’t need to talk about that now. Father and mother have our forces surrounding the castle grounds and Hogsmeade just in case something happens,” Draco said sitting up. Hermione watches as Adaline moves next to her father. Draco smiles at her sleepy daughter before pulling her into his lap, she cuddles in and closes her eyes. “She didn’t sleep well, I guess,” Hermione said smiling at her husband and daughter.

Well I’m back. I haven’t been able to writ, but now that it’s summer I’ll have several time for this story which I hope to at least write a huge chunk of it this summer. Anyways this is the third chapter. I hope you enjoy and I wouldn’t mind a review down below.
