Disclaimer: The plot of this story is same as the Indian movie 'Kahaani' written by Advaita Kala. I do not own it. However, I own my original characters and the wizardish tint given to the story. In short, I do not own anything that you recognize.

There was a poison-gas attack on a Dragon express compartment, killing the wizards on board. Two years after the incident, a pregnant girl Sarah Denny, an owl tracker who could track the letters been sent from place to place, who came from Italy, arrived in the Ministry of Magic in search of her missing husband, Edward Denny. An Auror Arnold “Aro" Alexander offered her help. Although Sarah claimed that Edward came on an assignment for the Wizarding Data Center (WDC) to London, initial probes suggested that no person named Edward was working in WDC.

Rose Weasley, HR head at WDC, suggested to Sarah that her husband resembled Scorpious Malfoy, an ex-employee of WDC. Before Rose could obtain Malfoy's records, she was killed by Bob White, an assassin working undercover as a bookstore salesman. Sarah and Aro broke into the old office of WDC to collect documents on Malfoy. They barely managed to escape a close brush with Bob, also looking for the documents. Meanwhile, the attempts to obtain Malfoy's records rattled two Unspeakables — the chief K. Watson and his deputy Little. Little arrived in London and revealed that Malfoy was an unspeakable gone rogue and was responsible for the poison-gas attack. In spite of warnings by Little, Sarah continued her relentless search, fearing that Edward's resemblance to Malfoy had led him into trouble.

The residential address on Malfoy's record lead Sarah and Aro to a dilapidated house. An errand boy of the neighborhood tea stall, Nick, informed them that the resident of that house occasionally had a visitor. Nick identified R. Gingerbread, an officer of WDC, as the person who had visited Malfoy's house. This lead Gingerbread to instruct Bob to kill Sarah. Following a failed attempt to kill Sarah, Bob was run over by a bus during a chase. Examination of Bob's pockets lead Sarah and Aro to an owl used to send instructions to kill her. They broke into Gingerbread's office to verify his possession of the owl but Gingerbread got alerted because of the spells he had put on the owl, and returned to his office pursuing the duo. Following a scuffle, Sarah shot a curse at Gingerbread accidentally, which led to his death and which upset Little as he wanted Gingerbread alive.

Little revealed that Aro had been working for him all along, using Sarah as a tool. Although not happy at being used as a ploy, Sarah agreed to help Little on his request but ignored Aro. Gingerbread's personal data revealed a code which was deciphered to be Watson's wand trace. Sarah owled Watson to tell him that she had retrieved sensitive documents from Gingerbread's office and if Watson helped Sarah find her husband, she would hand over the documents to him. Watson told Sarah to contact the Aurors as he was not associated with this. However, Sarah soon got a letter from an unknown sender, warning her that she should hand over the documents to the caller if she wished to see her husband alive. Little thought the caller was Scorpious Malfoy.

As instructed, Sarah went to meet Malfoy, with Aro and Little in pursuit. During their negotiations about the documents and the whereabouts of her husband, Malfoy attacked Sarah hitting her in the abdomen. He pointed his wand at Sarah to kill her, but was thwarted by the prosthetic abdomen which Sarah has been using to fake her pregnancy. She killed a baffled Malfoy and fled in the crowd before the arrival of aurors, leaving a thank you note for Aro and a document containing data from Gingerbread's office. Aro, based on several past incidences, deduced that no Sarah or Edward Denny ever existed. It was she who had been using the Aurors and unspeakables for her motive. The data from the documents lead to Watson's arrest. Sarah was revealed as the widow of Daniel D’mello, an unspeakable and a colleague of Malfoy, who was killed in the poison-gas attack. In her mission to take revenge of her husband's death, Sarah was helped by retired unspeakable Colonel Fogwhite, who suspected the involvement of some top unspeakables in the attack.

A/N: I wrote this as a curiosity as to how the story of 'Kahaani' would seem in the wizarding world. This is completely a production of my curiosity...
