Dear Fred,

Albus and Rose have invited their best friend Scorpius over for Christmas.
Rose is staying at Harry and Ginny's, and I've been nominated to supervise them on Christmas Eve.
They're in all in their fifth year. Remember us in fifth year? Remember the girls?
Yep, I'm the sorry git who got stuck with dealing with it.

Chapter 1: Dear Whoever
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Dear Fred,

You'll never believe what happened over the Christmas holidays.
I'm serious, bro, the kids are finally starting to grow up, and I was the unlucky uncle who got chosen to deal with it all.

Ron's daughter, Rose, is in her fifth year now, so is Albus, (Harry's kid but I've alrady told you that in another letter) and they seem to be getting close with Draco Malfoy's boy, Scorpius. It's because Albus ended up in Slytherin with Scorpius and they became close friends, and Rose being Al's favourite cousin, they all hang out together even though Rose gets some weird looks as she walks over to Slytherin's table at Breakfast.

Now, I don't need to tell you this because you may have spotted them once or twice when you visit Hogwarts on your annual visits. (causing mayhem I expect, Roxanne and Freddy can't stop talking about how you and Peeve's transformed the tranfiguartion class room into an ice rink for a week.)

Anyway, when the Christmas Holidays started to approach, and the entire family had gathered at a friday-night-family-night dinner, Al asked if Scorpius could come over for the holidays, and Rose immediatley jumped in and begged with him.

It took Ron and Harry some serious deciding before they agreed to letting any of Malfoy's off spring enter their house or the Burrow,of course after Al explained he really was a nice bloke, and Hermione's 'debating skills' showed itself in Rose. (which was what won our stubborn little brother over.)

So the moment the blonde kid entered the house on the twentieth of December, with a single suitcase full of essentials, that's the moment the excitement begun.

It started, of course with Rose and Scorpius. They have some 'lovey dovey' issues that they needed to sort out. They couldn't have made it more clearer actually. Sometimes I think the kids forget that we used to be their age as well.

Anyway, I should probably tell you how I ended up in this situation.

Harry and Ginny had already invited Ron and Hermione to a Christmas eve dinner, so they needed a babysitter, considering James was too busy with NEWTS to take care of anyone.

Meanwhile, Bill and Fleur were having their own dinner and wanted someone to look after Victoire, (Louis and Dom are both out at a party) and they don't want her having abhouse party, so she needs a babysitter.

Harry and Ginny considered Teddy, but ever since they found out Teddy was the one who hooked him up with the girl he lost his virginity too, they are having a hard time agreeing to let him keep an eye on Al and Rose.

But Teddy already assumed he'd be the babysitter and asked Victoire over to the Potter's house on Christmas Eve. And when Harry and Ginny found out they allowed it but asked me to go as well.

Why me? I don't know, but I said okay, "and its only for one night." But I don't think I could donit again.

I'll be right back Fred, it's just, Roxanne has a friend over and I have to make an appearance at dinner.

I'm lying on my bed in Lily's room.
Waiting for him to get here. He's almost here anyway. So there shouldn't be much more time left before he gets here.

By 'he' I mean Scorpius Malfoy. Scorpius is one of my best friends. The other being my cousin Albus. They're both in Slytherin but that doesn't bother me. I sit with them anyway.

Scorpius used to be just a friend. A really handsome friend. But he really left me curious about the situation that was 'us' at the end of the symmester, and he didn't give me enough time to try and make sense of it.

I think there may have been a kiss involved.
And I don't remember most of it because it was all a bit dark and...

He's coming to stay! And I haven't even thought about where he'll be sleeping, and since I kicked up such a fuss about him being my friend too, Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny agreed that I could stay at their house for the holidays too.

Which means no annoying little brother to make fun of me for a  whole christmas.

And James will be here, he's two years older than me, so he'll be studying for NEWTS, but I can't determine how serious he'll be about them. James is the funniest cousin I have, and it's never boring when he's around. Dad and Uncle Harry sometimes say that, although they never met them, James is just like his namesake, Harry's dad and godfather, James and Sirius.

And Al, he was named after most important wizard ever and a double agent.
And Lily was named after her Grandmother and one of Uncle Harry's friends.

I'm a flower. And coincidentally, I have matching red hair to my name.

And I should probably mention Lily as well, she's my beautiful younger cousin in her third year, but she's off with her muggle boyfriend, Malcolm, for the first few days I'll be at their house, so I might not see her until later.

But really? Who cares!! I get a whole three weeks with my two best friends, and potential 'like' something, but I really don't know.

Oh my gosh. That was the doorbell.

I found myself wishing myself luck as I approached the door at the pace of a turtle. But then I swung the door open and bolted down the corridor to the stairs.

So, my first thought of Mr and Mrs Potter's house was, 'clearly, this was decorated by the wife, and not the husband.'It was very homey, nothing a man could display, as far as I know.

"Scorp?" I heard Al call from the lounge room.

"Hey Al!" I answered brightly feeling the negative thoughts of Dad melt away from me. "Where's your mum and dad?"

"Right here." I heard a woman say behind me. I turned around and knew this must be Al's mother, Ginny. Following her was the famous Harry Potter. He was exactly as I'd read about him.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Scorpius." I tried to sound casual, but I was so excited to be here, and see Mr Potter for the first time it was difficult.

"You too, call me Ginny."

"And call me Harry." Said Mr Potter taking my hand and shaking it warmly. Dad told me about his problems with Harry and Ginny when they were at school, but clearly, that wasn't a factor here.
But they only smiled, and announced Lunch would be ready in an hour.

"It's always awkward with the 'meeting the parents' thing." Al whispered beside me. I'd forgotten he was there.

"You sound like we're getting married or something." I said laughing.

"Nah, I'm saving you for Rose." He sighed ruffling my hair.

I felt myself blush. "Shut up mate, we're just friends."

"Not from what I'm gathering." He said again, picking up my bag and walking up the hallway.

I told him to shut it, and just as we were approaching the staircase, I saw a flustered looking girl appear at the top of the stairs.

Ah, Rose. Her beautiful wild red hair, curling all over her face. Heart breaking brown eyes and the cutest freckles.

"Hey Scorp!" She said with a beaming smile. I was surprised to see my body was still solid and hadn't melted away.

"Hi Rose!" I replied beaming back at her.

We stood there for a bit before Al started up the stairs blocking our view from eachother.

"I shotgun being best man at your wedding." He muttered.

After that comment, I believe he deserved the two punches he got in the arm.
