Chapter 1: Introduction, Behind the names
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Disclaimer: I only own my Origionals everything you recognise belongs to J.k I also got the meanings behind the names from a name website and Gone with the wind and romeo and juliette doesn't belong to me enjoy.

Scarlett valentina grace is my name, I know most people hate their names but I love mine you see  Margaret Mitchell used this name for Scarlett O'Hara, the main character in her novel 'Gone with the Wind' (1936). Scarlett's name came from her grandmother's maiden name.

I just love the novel Gone with the wind and the film the story’s basically about the American Civil War and Reconstruction era from a Southern point of view.

Valentina Is Spanish and it reminds me of Valentines so my middle name I actually do hate I’m not interested in the whole romantic soppy stuff apart from gone with the wind, A walk to remember and the notebook....what I am a girl you know....just don’t tell anyone I’m a closet type of romance person not an in your face romance type of person.

Grace is my last name I love it because it makes me seem something I’m not. What’s that you my ask well that is Graceful nothing I do is ever filled with Grace. Grace is also one of the virtue names created in the 17th century by the Puritans.

Why am I boring you of all this you may ask well it’s because I’m bored my self

I’m sat her in History of Magic doing fuck all so I decided I’d vent off to you

Do you have a name?... no ok well let’s call you something and then decide on the meaning of your name.

Let’s call you Romeo...oh you don’t like Romeo...tough that’s what you’re going to be called anyway...I like it....Italian form of the Late Latin name Romaeus meaning "a pilgrim to Rome". Romeo is best known as the lover of Juliet in Shakespeare's tragedy 'Romeo and Juliet' (1596) and I happen to love the story....Like I said I’m a closet romance hee hee.

Shush rose I’m trying to get rid of bordem here can’t you see that

“Scarlett grace”

You know what Romeo your kind of nice letting me rant to you

“Scarlett Valentina Grace”

Oh no she did not just say my full name especially as her cousin and the love of my life Al Potter is sat right next to her.

“Merlin Rose you did not just use the full name ok Scarlett Grace I don’t mind but putting my middle name in there I hate you”

“Scarlett class is over in two minuets look everyone’s packing up”

“Oh why did I not notice this?”

“Because beautiful you where probably oggaling yours truly”

Oh no please tell me that wasn’t who I thought it was...was it him Romeo was it.

“Denny” ooo he looked hopeful as I gave him one of my flirtatious smiles

“Yes gorgeous” he replied

“Screw you” I smiled and walked off with Rose

Ahhh sweet Rosie she is my best friend but you wouldn’t want to get on her bad side especially with the weasely temper. You can tell she’s a weasely just by looking at her flaming red hair but she has calm blue eyes.

Rose:  Originally a Norman form of a Germanic name, which was composed of the elements hrod "fame" and heid "kind, sort, type". The Normans introduced it to England in the forms Roese and Rohese. From an early date it was associated with the word for the fragrant flower rose (derived from Latin Rosa). When the name was revived in the 19th century, it was probably with the flower in mind.

In case you can’t tell I like to put meanings and history behind names it’s a habit of mine.

Now let’s get all this name meaning out of the way. I’ve got nothing better to do seen as rose is studying and Denny Wood’s eye stalking me from a far.

Denny Wood is my stalker...yes Romeo he is the son of the famous quidditch player Oliver Wood and yes he does stalk me and worship the ground I walk on Merlin knows why. He has Brownish- Blondish hair and brown eyes he’s also burly and is the beater on the Gryffindor quidditch team I’m a chaser.

Denny: Diminutive of Denis

Denis: From Denys or Denis, the medieval French forms of DIONYSIUS. Saint Denis was a 3rd-century missionary to Gaul who was beheaded in Paris. He is credited with converting the Gauls to Christianity and is considered the patron saint of France. This name was common in France during the middle Ages, and it was imported by the Normans to England. It is now regularly spelled Dennis in the English-speaking world. A notable bearer was the French philosopher Denis Diderot (1713-1784).

Then there’s my other best friend

Angelica Nobel...she’s great she’s the go too when your upset type of girl. She sees reason to everything and can keep calm in any type of drama us teenagers have I have never in my seventeen years of life seen her loose it yup I have known her my whole life my mum being best friends with the Nobel’s, Potters, Weasley and Woods. She also stunning with honey blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes she looks just like her name.

Angelica: Derived from Latin angelicus meaning "angelic", ultimately related to Greek αγγελος (Angelos) "messenger". The poets Boiardo and Ariosto used this name in their 'Orlando' poems (1495 and 1532), where it belongs to Orlando's love interest. It has been used as a given name since the 18th century.

Then there’s her twin brother Jake or Jacob Nobel...Jakes the opposite he kind of has a problem keeping his cool when there’s drama going on and he’s way to protective of us girls but he’s also one of the sweetest guys you’ll ever meet and has a knack for pranking people just like me...he has the same colour hair as his sister and the same colour eyes they look exactly alike but obviously a different sex he’s like me a chaser.

Jake: Medieval variant of JACK. It is also sometimes used as a short form of JACOB.

Jacob: From the Latin Iacobus, which was from the Greek Ιακωβος (Iakobos), which was from the Hebrew name יַעֲקֹב (Ya'aqov). In the Old Testament, Jacob (later called Israel) is the son of Isaac and Rebecca and the father of the twelve founders of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was born holding his twin Brother Esau's heel, and his name is explained as meaning "holder of the heel" or "supplanter". Other theories claim that it is in fact derived from a hypothetical name like יַעֲקֹבְאֵל (Ya'aqov'el) meaning "may God protect".

In England, Jacob was mainly regarded as a Jewish name during the middle Ages, though the variant James was used among Christians. Jacob came into general use as a Christian name after the Protestant Reformation. A famous bearer was Jacob Grimm (1785-1863), the German linguist and writer who was, with his brother Wilhelm, the author of 'Grimm's Fairy Tales'.

Then there’s Bonnie Longbottom daughter to the one and only professor Neville Longbottom...Bonnie completes the four of us and is the most honest of our group she tells it how it is she also has a knack for getting in to trouble actually the whole group does and she knows all the gossip that goes around Hogwarts. Bonnie has Sandy blonde hair and brown eyes she’s a vision just like the rest of us girls and plays keeper.

Bonnie: Means "pretty" from the Scottish word bonnie, which was itself derived from Middle French bon "good". It has been in use as an American given name since the 19th century, and it became especially popular after the movie 'Gone with the Wind' (1939), in which it was the nickname of Scarlett's daughter.

Then there’s Scorpius Malfoy...yes Romeo he is a malfoy and yes he is a Gryffindor just like me he completes the chasers ....He has this massive crush on rose he’s also the sweetest guy I know but get him on the quidditch pitch and he’s a brute. He has platinum blonde hair but wears it scruffily because he doesn’t want it to be like his dads he also has the stormiest grey eyes which make girls melt.

Scorpius:Derived from Greek skorpíos "scorpion" via its Latinized form Scorpio. In astronomy, Scorpius is the name of a constellation near the centre of the Milky Way.

And Last but not least Albus Severus Potter he’s my best friend’s cousin and hardly knows I exists apart from on the quidditch pitch as he is our captain and our finest seeker. He’s quite calm and very charming but can be very cocky still he’s a nice guy but he drives me crazy by his man whoreish ways yup he dates and dumps why am I in love with him you ask Romeo....well he’s just a god he’s got messy jet black hair which he always puts a hand through when he’s nervous and his emerald green eyes that mesmerise you and make you think he can see right into your very soul his lips a so damn kissable that when he smirks you just want to kiss him, he’s got the right amount of abs and muscles that you just want to run your hands up and down.

Albus: Roman cognomen meaning "white, bright" in Latin.

Severus: Roman family name meaning "stern" in Latin. This name was borne by several early saints.

So his first name and middle name’s Roman I wonder if Harry and Ginny thought of that

“Come on Scarlett let’s go to bed” said Rose getting off the sofa “We have a long day tomorrow”

That we do my dear Rosie that we do.

I know it's short but I hoped you like it...It will get more interesting I promise
